Calling All LOTW! Drink Around The World!

We did the drink around the world last week at F&W. Man what a blast. The grey goose slushie in France is great. They also have a Grand Mariner verision that was really good too. Admitedly we did skip some countries, but we also stopped at kiosks for countries that arent usually there. For example, the bailey's frozen coffee in Irleand was the real deal:)

Which country can you get Rosa Regale? I read a thread about it months and months ago and I forgot:confused: thank you!

Italy

I bow to you all that can drink your way around the World. :cheer2: I am a lightwieght & can only make a few countires. Unless it's the F&W Fest, then I can Wine my way around quite nicely. ;)

If you are a wino, don't forget the wine bars inside the countries - Germany & Italy have them for sure, Italy is a favorite for me.

I tried the Green Tea Plum Wine slushie at the Tea booth & it is nowhere near as good as the cooler at the Festival, sad to say.

I seem to do most of my drinking at the resorts.... :confused3

My future sister-in-law and I will likely be doing this a day or two before the wedding. I'm excited.

Margaritas, Spiked Tea from China, Rosa Regale, Sake, Morocco, France - I think that should be enough for us.

I always have big aspirations of getting totally inebriated when I visit the WS :woohoo:

Sadly, it has yet to happen. All that walking totally messes up my buzz. I need a chauffeur-driven Gator or something. :thumbsup2

But I do enjoy the wine tasting at Germany (they used to give you a free shot glass, too!) and DH loves the Stella they sell in the UK.

I know what you mean about 'trying' to get inebriated around the countries... I've only succeeded once because I didn't eat anything! We started in Mexico and I think I finally stopped to get something to eat in France or Canada.

I love Champagne in France... makes me very happy!;)

OK, so this is my idea so far. We usually like our big meal of the day in the evening, but I guess this would work and line our stomachs at the same time! We'd like to sample a few tidbits from around the World also, and this way we don't have to worry about filling up before our big meal, as we'd have already had it. It will also be August so we'll have to remember to drink lots of water too!

Canada - Lunch ADR at Le Cellier (main and dessert only). Inniskillin Ice Wine for me, La Fin du Monde for DBF
UK (Home!)- Guinness for DBF, Lager Lime for me (or maybe the Welsh Dragon without the menthe - 'cos it's a Welsh cocktail!) - some chips, or if we're too full after LeCell, a Flake!
France - 1664 for DBF, Grey Goose Citron Squishee for me - Cheese plate/Crepe au Chocolat
Morocco - Moroccan Beer for DBF, Tangierine Cocktail (depending on what's in it!) for me - Baklava maybe... I'd like to split a platter but I think we'd be way too full
Japan - Kirin Beer for both probably, I don't think I'd like Sake - Sushi or Tempura here
USA - Bud Light for both - something like fries, or even fried ice cream!!
Italy - Peroni for DBF, Prosecco for me - Cannoli
Germany - Beer for DBF, sweet white wine/Apfelkorn for me - Bratwurst
China - Tsing Tao for DBF, Peach Oolong Tea Schnapps Slush for me - Egg Rolls/Pot Stickers
Norway - Carlsberg for both - School Bread
Mexico - Beer - Nachos/Burrito

Wow, that's a lot more drinks that I'd envisaged! Where I said we'd both have a beer, we'd probably share and get 1 beer, 1 water. We might (probably) not make it to all countries - but we'd be trying to go very, very slow and take it easy, and enjoy it! Any other recommendations, drinks or snacks would be welcome!!

Hayley, if you like tequila supposedly Epcot is installing a tequila bar inside the Mexico pavillon sometime next Spring. You should try that instead of a margarita. :thumbsup2

And the kiosk that sells the squishees is a permanent fixture in France - they sell Lemon Citron Vodka and Grand Marnier squishees along with champagne and champagne cocktails. One of my favorite booths, ever. :goodvibes

I'm surprised that they are going to put in a tequila bar in Mexico... given that they took away the 1/2 yards in England due to supposedly people getting too drunk. What do they think is going to happen when they start offering tequila shots?!?

my mom and i did drink around the world last year. I was nervous she couldn't hang, but when we got to Germany (we started in Canada and had one drink in every country) she was the one yelling "JAGER SHOTS FOR EVERYONE!!!" Needless to say, after Germany, she was done. I plan to do this again with her next year when we go, only this time maybe just beer, instead of beer, champagne, vodka, beer, wine, beer, jager.....

Your drinking plan sounds delicious *and* ambitious. I envy you--the next time I'm going is for the marathon, so I'll have to do everything (tour, eat, drink, sleep) in moderation. Someone tell me why I'm doing this again.....?
I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through you! :rotfl:

I also wanted to pop in and say thanks to Camster0307 for the link to Epcot drinks. It's much appreciated....

I also want to say thanks for the Drinks Link! Lots of great drinks on there! I have a few to add myself :)

It is a very ambitious plan  I hope we can make it!

Glad you enjoyed the alcohol porn!;)

Yes, as my children make lists of the rides and shows they want to do; mommy makes lists of the drinks she wants to try!:woohoo:

You’ve inspired me. We will be there the end of Jan. and your plan sounds wonderful....I think I will try it.
party:

WS is a great place to drink and walk... Yes, I have been there and was still able to walk!

Has anyone done the lounges at the resorts? We had fun in September doing the Monorail Lush Tour. Mizner's. Tambu and Cali Grill. Also, Victoria Falls was fun.

Hey - WE'RE ON VACATION!

We're going to have an adults-only evening at Epcot EMH while the kids go to the Sandcastle Club, so we're going to try to drink around the World Showcase. Of course, being a total lightweight, we're going to do a lot of sharing or DH would be carrying me back to pick up the kids! LOL

The plan:
France - the infamous slushies, of course. This place only takes cash, right?
Morocco - tangeriene daquiri
Japan - sake!
America - Is there anything good here aside from the standard Sam Adams?
Italy - rosa regale
Germany - beer of some sort. Like I said, lightweight - if I went for the jager, the night would end here!
China - green tea plum wine slushie
Norway - viking coffee
Mexico - margarita
Canada - Is there any CS or lounge with alcohol here? Preferably with icewine?
United Kingdom - saved the best for last, because I know this is where I'm most likey to have more than one. Black & tan or hard cider... I can never decide!

Hey Colleen27 - If you're ending the night at R&C, you can always order a Bailey's Coffee to go!:thumbsup2

I am so glad to here I am not the only one who drinks my way around the world and not just eat. I love the margaritas at Mexico. I like fruity drinks so wew end up going back there for more. I also like the Grey Goose slushie in France, they also have one that is orange flavored with Grand M..... Not sure what it is called, I like it more. I will have to try the coladas in Moracco. Does anyone know of other fruity drinks.

On our 5th anniversary, ('96) we walked out of Germany to watch Illuminations, and they had these fantastic Jager shots in an edible chocolate shot glass... Last time there though ('04) they were nowhere to be found... Are these no longer available? Anyone else remember these?
