Now, come on admit it... I know some of you have done it ;)

My mind may be clouded by the ice cold glass of blue WKD sitting next to me as I type, but next August, me and DBF would like to do a drink around the World and maybe a couple of snacks as we go along!

So my question is, where and what did you drink in each 'country'? And if you had a snack to go with it, what was it?

I only wish we were going during F&WF, I think it'd be perfect for us!! And Brenda has got me craving a Lemon Citron Squishee - too bad we won't be there :sad2: But we'll jolly well try and make up for it :cool1:

i haven't yet drunk all the way around the world, but here are some of what i have had:

mexico - margarita, of course
china - peach oolong slush (w/peach schnapps)
morocco - moroccan coctail
france - kir royale, grey goose citron slushie (yuuuuum)

Thank you for that!! I really must try that citron slushee!!

I'm not sure if we'll even make it around the World - that's a lot of alcohol! But we'll sure have some fun trying

Carlsberg Beer @ Kringla Bakeri in Norway!!! Try it with a pretzel or an open-face sandwich.

Ooooh DBF loves Carlsberg - it's extremely popular here in the UK :) I'll have to tell him you can get it in Norway!!

Good tip with the snack though... or how bout a schoolbread...mmmm!!!

We have tried starting in England with beer and we have tried starting in Mexico with margaritas. We have decided that no matter where we start, we always finish in Germany. Can't seem to get past Germany. Is it because they have beer, wine and Jaegermeister???? Could be.......

Well, truth be told, we always do get past Germany after at least a one hour stop there, but we never remember the rest of the circle. That's why we have to alternate routes each trip. Sure wish they'd move Germany to the end so that we could actually get through the entire World with memories and dignities intact.

Definitely need to eat some snacks every once in a while, so you don't end up knee-walking drunk and being escorted out!! :goodvibes
I am a wine person and like to try the wines, preferably white wine, at the different countries. I think my favorite is France. I don't like a lot of sweet wines, but they have a Chenin Blanc that I really enjoy. Have tons of fun!!

MMM...I love schoolbread, too! I've never tried it with a beer, though. I'm adding it to my list of must-try combos for January!

 Thanks for all your replies!

I too was worried about Germany! I saw that they served Goldschlager shots... I used to drink that when I was younger, when I seemingly had an iron stomach... bleurgh!!!

I love sweet wines! I hope I can get an ice wine in Canada, as well as the one I'm planning on getting in Le Cellier!!

Make sure to take plenty of photos. Trust me, later you will remember which ones you took before you hit Germany and which ones you took AFTER.

I don't know how large your group is, but we always have a designated walker who is in charge of cameras, purchases, bathroom locations, all the serious stuff. I'm pretty sure last trip we would have gotten into some sort of trouble if we hadn't had a designated walker helping us out.

And we had parasailing reservations for the next morning!!! Was that interesting.

I hate to say it, but I usually don't get past the R&C. They have everything that I like, mmmmm......... Guiness :drinking1 or Bass. :thumbsup2

Germany - ApfelKorn (Apple Schnapps)
Japan - Plum wine. Eat the plum too. Yum!
France - Grey Goose slushie

Is that the Grey Goose Citron slushie in France? I was under the impression that was a permanent kiosk, not a F&WF one. If I was wrong, man, am I glad I got one of those because it was goooood!

You'll be there in August, so it will be nice and hot. We were there in September, and I found it was just too hot for me for wine, so I stuck to the frozen concoctions. The margaritas (Mexico) and the Morocco-ritas/Sultan's Coladas (Morocco) were also mighty refreshing. I really wanted to try either the green tea plum wine or peach oolong tea schnapps slushes, but the kids were with us and they don't really need any more fodder for the therapy I'm sure they'll be seeking in about 10 years.:rolleyes1

Ooooh I thought that was just a drink from the F&WF... I'm most happy to hear that it's there permanently! That's France sorted ;)

Our party is just me and DBF - we love a good drink! I didn't really drink much at all in August, so I'm really going to make up for that! We're undecided whether we should start in Mexico or Canada yet - Canada is near the UK and those drinks are old favourites :teeth:

I love peach schnapps! I usually drink it here with lemonade (or Sprite in the USA) - I asked the waitress in the AC for a peach schnapps and lemonade, she looked at me like I was crazy and said, you mean Sprite right?! I forgot that American lemonade is the cloudy stuff - I'm glad she noticed my mistake, I would've gotten a shock otherwise!! I'm wondering what to get in the Mexico pavillion though, as I tried the Margarita this time and hated it

If anyone is there August 21st - September 7th, you're more than welcome to join us :teeth:

I always have big aspirations of getting totally inebriated when I visit the WS :woohoo:

Sadly, it has yet to happen. All that walking totally messes up my buzz. I need a chauffeur-driven Gator or something. :thumbsup2

But I do enjoy the wine tasting at Germany (they used to give you a free shot glass, too!) and DH loves the Stella they sell in the UK.

Maybe I could take the Segway tour at the same time

Knowing us we'll probably reach halfway :) I just hope we don't get any crazy alcohol fuelled ideas and decide to ride Mission Space afterwards....

Hayley, if you like tequila supposedly Epcot is installing a tequila bar inside the Mexico pavillon sometime next Spring. You should try that instead of a margarita. :thumbsup2

And the kiosk that sells the squishees is a permanent fixture in France - they sell Lemon Citron Vodka and Grand Marnier squishees along with champagne and champagne cocktails. One of my favorite booths, ever. :goodvibes

Ooooh thanks Brenda!! I might just have to try all three :teeth:

I don't mind tequila will salt and lime segments... but my adventure might be over before Norway  Ahhh beer, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems! However rules are rules, and I will have to try 1 drink in each country :teeth:

IASW should really be in Epcot - that would really be amusing after a few beers... Duff beer for me, Duff beer for you, I'll have a duff, you have one too!:drinking1

If you like peach schnapps, I think there is a drink in Morocco(Tangierine Cafe?) that sells a frozen drink with peach schnapps. We always blow by Morocco because we hit the GreyGoose frozen slushies first in France; intend I checking it out this year!

Also, there's wine tasting in the back of a store in Germany - hot & cold!
