Calling all locals! What is up with the weather?

My brother lives in San Diego, and he said the storm is coming FROM northern CA (where we're originally from).

I bet you ANYTHING he's going to blame me for it. :confused3 Since he said I brought the rain in Sept '05...

And he's coming up tomorrow to meet us at Disneyland, so if it starts tomorrow I hope he has a poncho. I'm so going to get blamed. :) Especially since we were just in northern CA on our way south from Tacoma WA.

I'm from Washington and I'm not laughing. It is nice to get away from rain every now and then.

:)

However, since my experience with WA is that it is very unusually for it to downpour, but rather it drizzles, I never poo-poo other peoples' reports of storms. I've lived in SC, WV, and VA (near DC), oh and Miami, and THOSE places just RAIN. WA just drizzles most of the time.

Aw malarky. It doesn't rain here. My bet is on some drizzle.

I'm assuming you weren't at DL 9/22/05? Downpours all the way from San Diego, and almost no one at the park while we sloshed around in the nasty rain. The almost no one part was FABULOUS, but it was obnoxiously cold with enormous raindrops until after noon!

In Longview, WA, it rains- plan and simple, lived here all my life. Drizzle is great but usually we have just plain ol' rain; so rain is what I am used to.
I see improvements in the weather report so maybe things are looking up. Does rain ruin a trip, absolutely not.

i'm in san diego as well and the nbc weather chick is excited about this storm. . yes I watched the news last night. . she said it is actually intensifying and one it hits the warmer waters down here is when the rain will really start. Yesterday was much cooler than normal, just from 330 until after 5 the temp had dropped enough to really notice it.

I am seeing crazy news reports about a storm coming in on Thursday...what are you locals hearing? We are coming in about 2 p.m. tomorrow.

Seems like Boston is going to be warmer and I am paying to fly to CA and can have better weather at home, ARGH.......I think the world is changing slowly Boston might become the new CA.

Yes, I was, I have lived here for 27 years. That was a realy weird year, tons of rain right at the end of summer. Total fluke though, we do not usually have 23" between July and Jan like we did that year. Last year, it rained 2 times all year. I think we had something like 3" for the whole year.

NOAA is already predicting La Nina for this year... http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2007/s2914.htm
With La Niña developing, seasonal forecasters expect wetter-than-normal conditions in the Pacific Northwest and drier-than-normal conditions in the already drought-stricken southwestern U. S. this Fall.

Weather last night on the news said rain tomorrow and rain in the AM on Saturday. One of the good things about rain at DL as a kid is that the crowds are significantly lessened (even if it's just predicted but no real rain). If the weather sticks to what is predicted, then the crowds will be low on
Saturday, but won't hamper any shows or parades (since thoseusually happen in the afternoon).

We are here people, we are here!! Looking out our balcony at GC and it is GORGEOUS and 71 degrees and clear sky.

I WANNA I WANNA I WANNA DARN IT DARN IT DARN IT!

Lol!

I'm here at work, and saying, 'c'mon rain!

I won't have to water my lawn, then, and we love the rain, too.

Ok, so it's Friday AM and NO RAIN. For that matter, not a cloud in the sky. Not a sign of this Severe September Storm we are supposed to be fearing.

It's actually not even all that cold, my thermometer says 62 right now and I am a block from the beach, it is usually a few degrees warmer in the park than it is here.

Our local news last night changed their story and said there would be widespread scattered showers throughout the area Friday night and Saturday but the storm is not very well organized.

So go to the park! Enjoy your day! But not too many of you, I'm going tonight and I'd like to be able to ride HMH without a 2 hour wait! :)

So I made it through the park last night to see the Halloween decorations just in time. I left at 9pm and on the short drive home I saw lightning and then DOWNPOUR!

It was not too crowded at all there either. Wait time for HMH was only 20 min and went fast, and everything else was varely 10. Expect of course Nemo. We took a spin on the monorail with the driver before leaving and the park just looked pretty off-season empty. I knew it wasn't bad when I stopped at Blue Ribbon Bakery for milk for my daughter and there was *gasp* No Line!

RAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!

oh yes RAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!

w000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000t...

it seems like OC has a 12 hour delay. :)

Albort how is the rain in OC right now? It has stopped here in Downey. We are heading out there later. I have to finish cleaning, I decided to take a little break:cool1:

it was rainin ealier...

The rain is GONE. Looking at the radar map, it won't be coming back today, or anytime for the next 7 either.

DizneyMommy, I think you posted this before the rain we had this afternoon... Right now though, it's as bright as a summer's day...

Park is great, actually pretty warm. Rained at about 1:30 for about 20 min. and that was about it. CA is pretty dead, most rides were 5-10 min. or walk-on.

It is supposed to be nice tomorrow so after tonight the rain in socal is supposed to stop.

Yes, I did... I guess even the radar map isn't accurate in SoCal. That was the National Weather Service Map I was looking at and there was nothing offshore when I posted this, then we had that little downpour that lasted about 20 minutes and the sun came right back out. Gotta love southern california weather!
