Calling all January 2011 POP'pers!!!

Still waiting to hear if my sisters house is going to close (commission for me) so I haven't booked yet, but am DYING to~flights from STL to MCO are $129 RT (149 with taxes and fees). That is just insanely cheap!!! I did, however, go ahead and make ADR's 'JUST IN CASE'! :confused3
Sat 1/22 Arrival-no plans
Sun 1/23 MK: breakfast Crystal Palace
Mon 1/24 EPCOT: dinner Biergarten
Tues 1/25 DS: Sci-Fi lunch
Wed 1/26 AK: Ohana dinner
Thu 1/27: no plans, DH's birthday, maybe DTD, swimming, whatever!
Fri 1/28: majority rules, whichever park *Still need to make ressies for Cali Grill dinner
Have one more ADR to make but it will depend on flight times. Would love to get an early enough flight to have an ADR for arrival day, but may have a departure day breakfast...not sure yet!

I BOOKED!! I BOOKED!! Nervous about it because it was really not in the budget, but did it! Pop, preferred, upgraded to DDP, 7 wonderful nights!! DIdn't get the best flights (won't get to Pop until probably 9pm, but OH WELL! The flights were so cheap, we just decided to do it! And it will be kind of nice to NOT have to get up before daylight to get to the airport. Wont have to worry about oversleeping, having everything packed, ready, etc. (And we're hoping we can get someone to take/pick us up from the airport to save parking money). Can't wait! The kids will be SO surprised Christmas morning, and we'll be celebrating hubby's birthday on 1/27.

Congrats on booking! My son has a minimum day of school the day we leave, so we're taking a later flight. We always take flights bright and early so it'll will be different for us too. I'm just hoping I don't drive myself crazy overthinking whether I packed this and that. We usually just get up and leave in the morning, so I may have too much free time on my hands... :)

Yep, I'm worried about that too. I'm sure I'll have at least "one more trip" to Walmart that morning for something we probably don't really need to take! :rotfl:

It's good to know I'm not the only member of the Obsessive Over-Packing Club!! :lmao:

So do you guys go through the "what if we might remotely possibly need this or that" on our vacation. It's like I forget that there's a real world out there to purchase said forgotten items when we are on Disney property! :rotfl:

Here's to mentally OCD packing for the next two plus months!! :cheer2:

Hi there - Joining in. We'll be at POP Jan 4-12th. DH is running the 1/2 marathon and the kids are all running the Mickey Mile. We're excited!

Ha ha! You all sound like me. I've bought a few new items and just threw them in my suitcase so they don't get lost. But I obsessively pack, check what I've packed and clean like a maniac before we go on any trips. My DH doesn't pack until the night before we leave and it drives me up a wall. I can only imagine he's going to wait until the morning that we leave to pack his suitcase since we don't have to get up early! :scared1:

And I'm really unsure about packing for this trip. We went two years ago in Jan/beginning of Feb and the weather was crazy. It was hot enough for shorts a couple days, freezing cold (we're from Las Vegas, so for us it was cold) and jacket weather a couple days and rainy and wet a few days. I'm going to be packing for all the seasons!

Woo Hoo. We're down to 69 more days here. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm forgetting to plan or buy something really big, but can't think of what it may be... We've already bought plane tickets, paid off most of our disney package (didn't want to get stuck with the entire bill right before Christmas!) which covers hotel, disney tix and free dining. We have our rental car reservations and then I just need to buy Universal and Gatorland tix. But I can't shake the feeling I'm forgetting something big.....

Yay! We'll be there Jan 25-Feb 3

Here's where we're eating: :woohoo:

Jan 26- 1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Jan 27- Le Cellier (dinner)
Jan 28- Kona Cafe (dinner)
Jan 29- Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Jan 30- Boma (breakfast)
Jan 31- Tutto Italia (dinner)
Feb 1- Ohana (breakfast) & Raglan Road (dinner)
Feb 2- Ohana (dinner)

I'm so excited!

 Paid off the trip yesturday

and then on the way home from work, i wreaked my car ...not exactly a good ending to the day

I think we've planned our park days. I keep meaning to go out to buy the Unofficial Guide (my last one is 3 yrs old) so I can get park days (yes, I'm too cheap to sign up online), but I've been looking at what's posted so far for Jan and kind of using that for best/worst days. We like to avoid EMH since we don't have hoppers, and we avoid DHS on Fantasmic days. It scares the crap out of my kids, and increases crowds, so :confused3.

So here's the plan:
Sat 22-arrive to late to much of anything except swim
Sun 23-MK (CP ressies before opening)!! Hate to miss the opening show because that is one of our absolute favorite things about Disney, but we have never seen Main St before opening OR been to CP and I'm excited about that.
Mon 24-Epcot (Biergarten dinner)
Tue 25-either off day or AK, depending on how tired we are (Ohana dinner)
Wed 26-DS (Sci Fi lunch), maybe DTD in the evening
Thu 27-either off or AK, no dinner plans, maybe the Boardwalk in the evening. HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY
Fri 28-Majority rules, no plans, (Cali Grill dinner)
Sat 29-ME pk up about 1230
Still have one ADR. Thinking about either seeing if we can swap it for a CS, or maybe skipping Sci FI and trying Hoop de Doo (although I really like the idea of having a few evenings free); Maybe trying Chef Mickeys...unsure. Guess we'll just play it by ear. I love that we're getting (mostly) free dining because I don't feel like I have to maximize every single credit!!!

Any opinions on the plan?? Would love some input!

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like, at least, You're ok?? :grouphug:

I'm so glad you're ok. How scary! And congrats on paying off your trip!!!

We are staying at POP JAn 10-18th for my daughters 10th Birthday but it is still a secret and i plan on keeping it that way till xmas morning. Wish me luck with that part

We're doing the same thing for DS's 10th birthday too!:goodvibes I hope we can keep it a secret too.

We'll be at POP Jan 22-30. This is our first stay there, and at any value. I'm a little nervous and worried that we'll be too crowded. I hope we enjoy it as much as our other WDW vacations.

This is our first time ever going to WDW!! I booked the trip on a whim when I got really good airfare! It all happened kinda fast so now I am reading everything I can get my hands on to plan.

there are 4 of us. Me, DH, DD(10) and DS(7). We kept the QSDP because I don't think my kids will want to slow down enough to sit down for table service.

We get in around 3 and I figured we will get to POP by 5. Is it crazy to think we could hit MK that night for EMH??? MK is open to 1am, not that I think we would stay that long but at least get a few good hours in.
