Thanks everyone for your Happy Birthday wishes for Katie:goodvibes
She had a good day!!!! She made a last minute change for her birthday dinner - she wanted TGI Fridays. The servers sang to her, and gave her ice cream - she thought that was great!!!!!! :teeth: Then we went to ToysRUs, so she could pick out some LEGOS - those things are expensive!!!!! She really likes her LEGO table, and is excited to play with her new birthday present this weekend:banana:

Karen - please tell Sarah.......
Happy Birthday!!!!!

I think it's so cool that our DD's share a birthday:)

CB - How's the weather by you????

Well, I'm off to go walking this morning. I haven't walked since Monday, because of that terrible headache that I had, and then yesterday, I needed to leave the house early, so today I need to sweat a little (especially after my meal and dessert last night  )

Have a good day today everyone!!!

the weather the past 4 days has been gloomy and rainy. At least it hasnt been terribly hot and muggy. It is really wierd for me though because its summer and I never see the skies like this until november and then its freezing. Its hard to imagine that back home its sunny and 100 degrees outside.

Yesterday I went to the Grand Floridian and walked around. Its so beautiful and very big. It was the first of the deluxe resorts that Ive seen and I really love the theme. I always love the elegant classic styles. I decided that I would absolutely love to have my wedding there. But like Id ever have that much money!:lmao:

My friend and roommate here, Kelly, is really great and turns out that both Marc and her boyfriend are coming to visit us the same week in November. And we'll both be staying at POR. :rotfl: Last night after riding the monorail and seeing a wedding at the pavillion we went online and looked at the weddings. Now both of us are swooning over the idea of a disney wedding. haha

I dont know if anyone is interested, but I have a webpage/blog that I started before I came to florida. Theres some pictures of Marc and I etc. http://web.mac.com/samanthahaynes/Sams_Site/Welcome.html

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in the last few days! Life is just crazy busy! I am on call this weekend soI am about to head out! Talk to ya'll later!

:surfweb:

I love Sunday mornings - they are always so relaxing!!!!!

Not to much new here :sad2:
I didn't work yesterday, so I was able to spend so time with the kids.
Stephanie rode her bike, while I walked - we went 6 miles:)
Then we went in the pool for awhile, but not all day, because we went to church late yesterday afternoon.
It was a good day!!!!:)

We aren't doing much today either.
Kevin is going to make some breakfast, and then we are going to hang out at home.

Karen - I hope you don't have to many calls today:wizard:

CB - I"m sorry the weather has been so cruddy - hopefully it'll pass soon:wizard:
**I would love to give my girls a Disney wedding, but the price makes me to this
**I took a look at your blog - thanks for the link!! I love your prom dress - such a pretty color!!!!:)

Well, I'm off to get the day started
Have a good day everyone!!!

:surfweb:

It's the start of a new week!!!!

I hope you all had a good day yesterday - it was beautiful outside!!!!! :sunny:
We were outside all day.
We did yardwork, and then I sat by the pool while the rest of the family was in (I didn't want to go in, so Sophie and I sat on the deck, and I was able to really get into my Prince Caspian book, which is great so far).
It was a very productive and relaxing day!!!!:thumbsup2

I"m off to start my walk - have a good day!!!

Hi all! The weather here is still bad. Fay can't leave everyone alone! I am almost finished with cheerleader certification. That should help decrease my stress level!

sandy - sounds like your weekend was good!

cb - I checked out your blog - very good idea for keeping in touch!

I had to see 4 patients on Sat and 5 on Sun. The weather was dreaery, but it wasn't a horrible weekend. I am hoping since our other nurse was off a few days last week and the weekend that she will go see patients today and I can do some work in my office! I am not getting my hopes up! Well, I have to go and cut gum out of the cat's fur! Wish me luck!!

Sorry I didn't check in this morning, but I got up kinda late for me.
I normally get up at 5:20am, but after alarm #1 went off at 4:25am, and then Sophie needed to go out at 5am, and then a train was making alot of noise at 5:10am (we live pretty close to railroad tracks), I said forget it - I don't feel like getting up early:sad2: Then Katie got up at 6:15am telling me she wet her bed (she still wears pull-ups, but I never told you that, because it embarrasses her), so I told her to change her clothes and climb into bed with me. Then I got up a little later and had to strip her bed and put it into the laundry. So, that was morning in a nutshell

Karen - I'm sorry your weather has been icky :umbrella: I hope it clears up soon:wizard:
**how did the cat get gum in her hair:scared: How was getting it out - challenging I'm sure.

Well, I best get going and finish my lunch, then Katie wants to try her new computer game - it's nice having her back with me at work again :goodvibes

Have a good rest of the day!!!

:surfweb:

This morning is a lot better than yesterday's morning:)
That's a good thing, so I can get outside and walk today :thumbsup2

Karen - How's Weight Watchers going? Are you still doing that?

Gotta run - Have a good day!!!

Good Morning!

Weight Wathchers is great! I am still very enthused. I spent some of my DIS time yesterday updating my ticker! Life here is still super busy! Sarah called yesterday and her laptop is pretty much shot. I had hoped to buy a new one for Christmas, but... so we ordered her a new laptop last night. I think in one way she feels bad because she is 20 and an adult, but I also think she likes very much being the kid and having us to help her. She really is a good kid! She told me she will bring the computer home over Christmas holidays and put it under the tree!

sandy - I am glad you enjoy having Katie at work and she enjoys being there. That is some special time for you two, but she also gets to see her mom at work! How is school going for Stephanie? I bet she has made lots of progress with her reading!

cb - how are things at WDW? I wish I was there!

My highschool employee surprised me yesterday and worked last night - wasn't that great?!?! I thought so, because I was able to go home and make dinner, and do many errands around the house, that I haven't had time to do. Yep, I was pretty happy!!!!!:goodvibes

Karen - I'm glad Weight Watchers is still going well for you:) Is Jim sticking to it?
**Sarah does sound like such a good kid - you are very blessed!!!!!:goodvibes
**School is always a challenge for Stephanie. She likes going to school, but she hates hates hates the homework, and it's a constant battle for her to do it, and for her to do it right. She wants to rush through it, and therefore, it's not always done well - it's so frustrating!!!!!:headache: I"m not sure if her reading has gotten better or not (today is her first reading test, and I guess I"ll soon find out). Her reading out loud has gotten better, but I"m not sure about comprehension. Her math has gotten better, but she's been going to tutoring since January, so we'll see if the tutoring helps her with her schoolwork.

Well, I'm off to take a casual walk this morning. Yesterdays walk hurt my neck and gave me a headache, so I have to take it easy today. Have a great day today!!!! :wave2:

Good Morning!

sandy - That was a nice suprise from your employee! I hate that Steph struggles with school. That can make is so "not - fun". Does she like her teacher? I know you said she hates the homework. Does she enjoy the school day? I hope so! I think school should be fun and something they look forward to (most days) I am sending some pixie dust her way for luck on her reading test! pixiedust:

I have to go weigh in this morning. I don't know how I did this week. I really need to get regular exercise going on! I just can't bear the thought of getting up an hour earlier!

Have a great day!

Did any of you watch Barack Obama last night?
He is an amazing speaker - I really enjoyed listening to him speak.
I don't know if I'm voting for him yet - I'll probably decide after I listen to John McCain next week. I don't think he'll be as exciting to listen to though - it'll probably be quite boring.

Karen - Thanks for the PD for Stephanie, she needs all she can get. It's hard for me to see how she struggles in school too, because she's a bright girl, who could do alot if she really put her mind to it. She loves going to school, she loves her friends, and she loves learning while she is there, but the homework stresses her out, and really brings her down. Then when I'm constantly nagging at her to her studing, that brings her down about school even more, but I have to nag her to get it done, or she won't do it. Yep......it's not easy around here during school time. I'm happy to say though that Stephanie got a 85% on her reading test, which in my day, was a B, but in this day it's a B- :confused3 I told Stephanie I was proud of her, and to keep up the good work. She'll never be a A student, I know that (I didn't tell her that), so I need to encourage her to keep up the good work being a B/C student.
**It's so hard to get a regular exercise program in and stick to it, I definitly know that ::yes:: Good luck while trying to start that, and when you need to talk to someone to keep you motivated, you can turn to me. I may need you to keep me motivated too, especially during the cold winter months :cold:

Well, I'm off to work out, and then work another long day.
Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Happy Friday!!!
sandy - Hey B or B- a B ia still above avarage!!! That's great! Good for her! :thumbsup2 You don't have to be an A student to be smart! It's good that she enjoys going to school and learning.
Thanks for the support with the exercise - I am just so lazy! I did weigh in yesterday and I am down another 1 and 1/2 pounds!
Does anyone have big plans for the weekend? James has a football game and we have tickets for the baseball games, but I think it will be pretty low key.

We are going to have some awesome around here this weekend :sunny:

Karen, I'm worried about you.
Are you going to be affected by this storm coming in The Gulf?
I've been thinking of you!!!!!
Thanks, for you nice thoughts for Stephanie - I appreciate it!!!!!:goodvibes
She needs all the positive vibes she can get, to keep her on track!!!!:)

Well, I"m off to get my coffee and get ready for work
Have a good day!!!

Hi all! I am checking in late today. We had our first regular season game and I was at the park most of the day doing fun cheer director/coach stuff. Our game was a nail biter, but we won. We got home a little while ago, ordered pizza and everyone is watching the Alabama game (well I'm listening)!

sandy - we are prepared for the storm. Jim didn't do yards on Friday - he got as much ready as he could. If it heads more our way he & James will board up the windows, clear the yard, etc... Jim will report in & I will be here with the kids and animals. My mom told me that they are already reporting gridlock with people leaving New Orleans. My family on the Mississippi coast will probably head this way if stays on this course. Of course, as soon as we go under a warning and not a watch Jim will have to report in and stay until it's over. This is a scary part of life on the coast, but at least with a hurricane, you have time to prepare.

Karen, the storm looks scarier and scarier every time I watch the news. I feel so bad for the folks of New Orleans - how incredibly terrible!!!!!:guilty: Since you are so close, I just can't help but worry about you. Please, please, be careful, and keep me posted on how things are going when that beast hits land soon

sandy - we spent yesterday getting ready. Jim is still at the station and I am at home with the kids. We are starting to get rain from the feeder bands and will probably have lots of rain today with big wind gusts. Hopefully we won't have any tornados. I will keep you posted!! I know they kept our shelters open for people evacuating from other states. The traffic on the interstate from Louisiana and Mississippi was horrible!!

Boy, oh boy, I've been loving these last 3 days to sleep in:)
I haven't been working out, but that's okay, I needed a day off from that too ::yes::

Yesterday was a great day of doing NOTHING!!!!! :teeth:
We just hung out by the pool all day, and then last night, the girls and I played a couple games of Disneys Scene It - 2nd addition, which was alot of fun!!!! Yep, it was a good day!!!!!:goodvibes

Today was have some friends coming over, and we are going to be at the pool again all day. I'm really enjoying these days, because the weather forecast is talking about much cooler weather next weekend, which means no pool. Fall is definitly around the corner!!!!

Karen - I'm so glad you checked in today!!!!! Everytime I look at the radar, I think of you and your family. I know the hurricane is not going right toward you, but I know all those outer bands can be awful. Please take care, and please continue checking in

Well, I gotta get going and start my day.
Have a great Labor Day everyone!!!

Back to the ol' grind stone today!!!

Yesterday was so much fun!!!!:cool1:
I have so much fun with these friends - it's great!!!!!:goodvibes
The only thing that was bad about this day, is the party behind us, was very loud, with extremely loud karoke, so we chose to not eat dinner outside - it was like noise pollution. My girlfriend yelled really loud for them to "kill the power" but they didn't hear her:rotfl:

Karen - I'm thinking of you!!! How's the weather?

Well, I gotta go and workout. I haven't worked out since Friday, and I haven't watched my diet at all this weekend :sad2:
Have a good day!!!

We had a pretty mellow day yesterday. The power went out for a couple of hours, but nothing bad. James and his friends played in the rain all day. Even Emily went out and jumped on the trampoline in the rain. The kids are out of school today because our hurricane shelters (schools) have LA and MS evacuees in them. I wish work was closed!
