We are having a beautiful day here in the Chicago area, so we are celebrating it by going to the zoo in downtown Chicago. The girls are really excited, especially Katie. We didn't get to go to any zoos last year, and I don't think she remembers much from the year before that - she'll really enjoy it!!!!:cool1:

Have a good day today everyone!!

morning girls, been a while....how are you all doing? oh and I don't know who the kids belong to in the costumes but they are cutie pies....have a great day

We had such a phenomenal day yesterday!!!!
The weather was awesome :sunny:, the zoo wasn't to uncomfortably crowded, the animals were the most active that I have ever seen them, and the traffic in the city was dealable. I was so happy with our day!!!! :goodvibes

Today the new siding is getting started on our house. I'm excited to see our houses new look. We have cedar siding right now, and it stinks!!! It holds boxelder bugs and the woodpeckers love to come peck at the house. It has so many holes - it's crazy!!!!! I can hardly wait to have that stop when the aluminum siding is put on.

MK - Good to see you!!!!!:yay: How've you been?? Don't be a stranger and come chat with use often:)

Well, I gotta run and workout this morning (I didn't yesterday, but I walked alot and paddleboated for a 1/2 hour, so I got some exercise ;) )
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning all! we have been hot & busy here. I am enjoying the days off from work, but I go back tomorrow. Emily had her appointment Tuesday with the orthodontist for her impressions (she is going into her braces this summer). Usually the followup is 2 weeks after and then braces. Because she lost that tooth (front - 2nd on left) he is doing a rush consult next week so she won't have to walk around looking like she lost a fight for too long. The dentist on Monday said it was a permanent tooth (ugh!!) which will mean a lot of $$ to fix. He said it was root reabsorption, not decay or anthing we could have prevented. He told Emi he had never seen a case like this - then he remembered Sarah had to have a root canal on one of her front teeth after she got her braces off - for root reabsorption! Must be a family thing!
James & I bought and hung vertical blinds in the computer room on Tuesday. I had to have a small assist from Jim with drilling the starter holes, but otherwise we did it on our own. The room is much cooler and now Hannah-:dogdance: will quit bashing herself into the sliding glass door in an effort to get the cats!
Weight Watchers is going well. My mom has lost 4# (2 each week), James has lost 2# (1 each week) and I have lost 3#(1 week1 and 2 this week) Haley had a rough start and now is away volunteering at camp so we will see next week. Jim is participating at home, but not to the degree the rest os us are and Sarah is now using the system. Emi eats what we buy, but she isn't weighing or actively participating. She is very small and very active. I keep telling myself that this is about lifestlye and the long run and to be patient!

Looks like Emi won't be on the news anytime soon. They said due to the economy, advertisers, etc... right now they aren't going to take on a new project. They did go ahead & edit her story. If any of you want to see it you can pm your email address & I will send it to you.

sandy - I am glad you had a great day and how excitng about the new siding!!

april - hello!

CB - how did all the finals turn out?

kimba - have you recovered? I hope you are feeling better! How is Kayla doing?

WooHoo!!! I love Fridays!!!! :cool1:

Karen - Poor Emily :( I hope everything goes well for her with her tooth :wizard:
**Congrats on your starting weight loss:woohoo: That's awesome!!!!! :yay: It is about a lifestyle change ::yes:: I had to do my lifestyle change before I got married, because I was getting way to heavy. There were many things that I changed, that I still don't do to this day (which is why I didn't put all the weight back on, even after I had my girls). I'm not super thin anymore, like I was, but I'm not heavy like I was either. Keep up the good work, and before you know it, you'll have lost tons of weight :thumbsup2
**Please pm me with Emilys news project - I would like to see it!!!!:)

Well, I gotta get going and get out walking!!! I'm walking a 13 minute mile know - which is aweseome!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!

Happy Friday!!

slo - good for you on your time for a mile!! How many miles do you walk every day?

What are everyone's plans for the weekend? I am on call, but hopefully it will not be busy. James has been sick since yesterday. Fever and a little irritant cough. He's a real trooper, I told him how a fever helps his body, so he puts off taking Advil/Tylenol until he wants to get up and do something. He's perkier tonight which tells me he had some Advil about 2 hours ago. Jim went to work on his friend's boat. He offered to buy it as this friend doesn't use it. The friend told him if he would help get it running and then do the maintenance he could use it this summer. This should give Jim a good feel for how he and James would handle owning their own boat (like if they would use it enough). They have some big fishing plans for July. They are going to fish a rodeo for kids and then the big rodeo.

See ya'll later!

:surfweb:

Stephanie's at a friends house this morning (she went to a slumber party last night) and it's always weird when she's not here. She was so cute last night, she called me at 10:15pm last night, just to talk to me, and say goodnight. I was concerned she wasn't having a good time, but she said she was having a great time, and she just wanted to call me:goodvibes I told her that it made me feel good that even when she's having a great time with her friends, she's still thinking of me:goodvibes How sweet!!!!!!

Karen - I don't walk outside everyday - about every other day. When I do walk outside though, I walk 4 miles:thumbsup2 The other days I do "Walk Away the Pounds" with Leslie Sansone - I love love love these DVD's. These are walking videos for inside your home - I reccommend you look into these, I think you would really like them too:thumbsup2 When I don't do that, I do have a stepbox aeorobic tape that I do, that I've had since before I was married. I only do this sometimes though, because this can be very hard on my knees
**I hope you have a great time with that boat this summer. Kevin and I really want to get a boat sometime, but we are going to wait until the kids are much older (Katie especially). I think we would use it more than, and than I would be comfortable taking any of their friends with. We think it would be awesome taking the boat to the Chicago River,:cool1: and taking the boat through the city.
**I hope you don't have to work to much this weekend:wizard:

Well, I gotta go and get ready for work.
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi everyone!

My finals went ok, I ended up with 2 C's and 2B's which I am very happy about. I passed the 2 classes that I hate (chemistry and calculus) and now I am done with those! I start summer school on Monday. Im taking organic chemistry and Archaeology.

Marc finally got his schedule and will be starting work on Monday. Hes so excited. He would rather work inside the city, but he got stationed out in the boondocks. Hes in a small town on the outskirts about 10,000 people. Its still about at hour drive away. But hes used to the drive, thats what he was doing everyday while in the academy.

Oh! When Im in the College Program were planning a trip for marc to come and visit. Itll be his first time to WDW. Ill be gone for both of our birthdays and all of the fall holidays. I wont be back until january. Since Ill only get to see him once for a few days in about 5 months I want to make his trip special. Does anyone have any good ideas or things to do, or maybe a good gift idea?

We are staying home today and bumming around all day :yay: Hopefully the rain will stay away, so we can have some pool time :beach: I will make sure to wear some sunscreen today, because my sunburn is still slightly pink where I burned before

CB - Congrats on your grades - that's great!!!!
**I forgot about you doing the college program. That's great that Marc will be coming to visit. My first suggestion would be to have a nice romantic dinner at California Grill, and make sure your reservations have you there during Wishes. That would be very nice for both of you!!!!:goodvibes I'll have to try and think of some other nice things to do.
**Good luck to Marc with starting work on Monday:wizard: I'm sure he'll do great!!!!

I"m off to make some breakfast
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. For some reason it's been crazy around here.

Kayla is doing wonderfully!! I took her to my chiropractor yesterday - for her knee problems. He was great. He adjusted her for free and gave her some exercises to do. He said that as long as she does the exercises daily and ices her knees after dance/workout she'd be feeling better in a few months.:cool1: She isn't dancing this summer so she can concentrate on healing herself.

DH is battling with kidney stones - again:worried: He had them before 5 yrs ago. He stopped drinking ice tea after that because the doctors linked it to the stones. We don't know why they have come back. I can tell he's hurting. The stupid stone just won't pass. He had to go do a job today. I told him not too, but it was kind of an emergency. So I made him take Kayla with him.

I'm still slowly recovering. But my body is just wore out! The chiropractor had a hard time adjusting me because of the tension in my back. :headache: But hey, I'm alive and I DON'T have to give my daughter needles anymore!! It's a great day!!:dance3:

Slo: I hope you get a nice pool day!! I know what you mean about it feeling weird when the kids aren't there. I have mine with me so much that when they aren't home it's really hard. Especially when all three would go to my mom's - that was REALLY weird!

Karen:How's James feeling today?? Better I hope! That's a good idea about "testing" out having a boat. They can be alot of work and expense. We had someone donate a boat to the Boy Scout Troop and those boys will have tons of work to do before it will see the water.

CB:Congrats on the finals!! That's great that Marc will be starting his new job! I live in an even more "Boondocks" town. I think our population is 2500:rotfl2: He's stationed in a BIG town to our standards!! It looks like you'll be in WDW on the college program when we'll be there. Do you know what you'll be doing yet?? It really sounds like alot of fun!

Have a great day everyone!!
Kim

We had a very nice day yesterday :)
We had to dodge the rain often (it was a weird weather day) but that's okay. The girls got to play in the pool for awhile, and I got to lay in the sun :sunny: (it wasn't warm enough for me to be in the pool).

Tonight I have training to be a lecter at church (the person that does the readings during mass).
I've always wanted to do this, but always had a reason not to. When our Priest asked me about doing this, I told him that Katie wouldn't want to sit with her sister while I did it. He told me I could take her with me - I thought that would be great!!! So I decided to do it!!!! I'm really excited about it!!!!:goodvibes

Kimba - I'm glad that things are going well for Kayla:goodvibes I'll send some PD her way for her knee to feel better soon:wizard: :wizard: I'll also send some PD your way for you to feel better soon too :wizard: :wizard:
**I'm sorry to hear about your DH battling with kidney stones:( I'll send some PD his way to for them to pass soon, and that he can start feeling better :wizard: :wizard:

Well, I'm off to get walking (I need to work off all my snacking by the pool yesterday  )
Have a good day today!!!

Good morning all!

sandy - I am glad ya'll had a good day by the pool. That's great about being a lecter!

kimba - I hope your whole family gets to feeling great soon!

cb- I know you are glad to be done with finals! I hope all goes well for Marc. That will be fun when he gets to visit you.

Have a good day everyone!

hi guys, hope you are doing ok,,,,news ,,,,DH is talking about going back to F.DEPT again...I don't know how to feel about this....good news...out trip is just a few weeks away...:woohoo: so we are getting very excited..(every time we go to WDW its like the first time)...I get DH for a week all to myself..(wait should I be excited that he will be under foot :rotfl2: ) anyway, hope all are doing well.....

Hi everyone!
Today is marcs first day and he was so excited this morning. He acts like a kid all excited for his first day of school. He packed his bag days ahead and when he got new boots on saturday in the mail he was practically jumping up and down and then ran around the house in them to try them out. :rotfl2:

I am kind of worried. This is the first time that I will have to spend the night without marc in quite a while. Its so wierd to not have him here this evening because usually I come home and we cook dinner together and spend time with each other. By myself I dont even feel like cooking... and hence have nothing to eat. I know that tonight without marc in the bed I will have the cats all over my face and stomach and everywhere because there will be room.:rotfl:

Do you guys get to see your husbands everyday? If not how does it effect you and how do you like it?

:surfweb:

I did my lecter training last night, and I'm a little nervous now. There's alot to remember at first, and I hope I do it right. I have a workbook, and a special book to help me pronounce hard words (which is good, because I always wondered how the lecters knew how to say things). I"m sure I'll do fine, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, so I'll have to let you know when my first day is, so you can all wish me a little luck - I'll need it!!!! :)

Karen - When does Emily have to get her teeth worked on?

April - I'm sure things will be fine with your DH going back to the FD - good luck to him:wizard:
**How fun that your trip is coming up:cool1: Have you started packing?
**Enjoy having your DH home for a week - how nice!!!:goodvibes

CB - Did you hear from Marc? How was his first day?
**Kevin is volunteer, so he is home until he is needed. There are days that I don't see him much, because we'll both be at work all day, and then when he comes home, he may have lots of calls. I'm so used to it though, that it doesn't even phase me anymore :sad2:

Well, I gotta run and do a quick workout this morning.
Stephanie has to be at daycare early today, because they are going to the zoo.

Have a good day today everyone!!

Hello all!

sandy - I have always worried about mispronouncing things (usually when I hear someone at church do it). It's reassuring that they help you with that and don't just throw you up there! We meet with Emi's orthodontist Thursday to hear the plan. I am sure the braces will go on quickly after that.

april - enjoy your husband for the week!!

kimba - hi!

cb - Jim was a FF before we were married, so he has always been gone alot. He works alot of OT too. It's Ok. I really enjoy when he is off (he was just on vacation for 11 days), but him being back at the station is our normal routine. The nights bug me when the kids are gone too. I don't enjoy being totally alone for long. I can't wish for it to be different, though. This is who Jim is and I am proud of what he does for a living. You will adjust and all will be well! Use the nights when he is gone to plan special things to do while you are in WDW! Maybe ya'll could do one of the cruises to watch firworks?

cb - I also meant to ask about the college program. Where do you get info on it? Is it open to only certain majors?

Thanks for the advice and good thoughts. Marc is getting off shift at 8 so hes not off yet, and then he has an hour drive home. Ill be leaving for work/class soon, so I wont get to see him until tonight.:worried:

About the CP: You can be any major to do it. For some majors you get more usable experience. Im not getting credit to do it because I am a wildlife conservation major. Theres not much overlap there. I am taking a quarter off to do this. If you are a hospitality, business, management, music/dance major then the program can fit better.

There is lots of information online www.disneycollegeprogram.com and tons of people that have done it before in the college boards.

To apply you watch a presentation (at campus or online) then schedule an interview. You check off roles that you would want to do on their checklist and they basically choose from what youve selected. You can audition for character roles and possibly be in parades also. Im quick service food and beverage which sadly wasnt one of my choices.

Hi there!! :wave2:

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday - I wasn't on the computer much.

I was home all day while getting our new windows installed, and they look really nice:thumbsup2 Then after they were all in, the cleanup began - there was sawdust everywhere :crazy2: I was vaccuuming until 10pm last night. It felt good to get it all done, so I didn't have to wake up to it today:)

OUtside of that, there's not to much going on :sad2:
Our 4th of July fest starts today and runs all weekend, so Kevin will be gone at that all the time. He's not only there with the FD, but he is also on the committee that puts on the fest - he'll be busy!!!!

Well, I gotta run and finish my lunch - then back to work!!!
Have a good rest of the day everyone!!

Today's an early start day
Katie needs to be at daycare by 8am, because she is going to Fair Oaks Farm, and Stephanie needs to be there early too, because she is going on a bowling field trip - they should both have a really fun day!!!!!:cool1:

I decided to go to work right after I take them, because I do have a lot to do. Plus, I'm leaving at 3pm, so I can go to the doctor. I'm still having a huge problem with headaches, and I need to discuss this with him. It seems like they mainly come after I workout, especially outside. I definitly can't run - I get a screaming headache from that :headache: Even my walking is giving me a headache, but not as bad as when I run. I'm so tired of popping pain meds, and I'm getting so tired of working out to be healthy, and I feel worse after I workout, than before I started :headache: I have alot of neck problems, and I don't know if that's the root of this  I would also like to have an allergy test done, to see if I'm allergic to something. Kevin thinks they will have me do a stress test, to see if I'm having an issue with my blood pressure. I don't care what they do, I just want to get to the root of the problem.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work, and to wake up the girls - they'll be crabby:eek:
Have a good day today everyone!!!
