I went and saw a Chiropractor yesterday. Things went well, and he's thinking he will be able to help me with my troubles. I have issues with my spine, which I already knew (I've been having issues with my spine since forever) and he's thinking he can help with readjustment. He did do an adjustment last night, and my neck cracked alot - made me laugh:rotfl: I go back on Wednesday morning, and he wants me to do a heavy workout that morning, so we can see how I feel when I get an adjustment after I workout - so we'll see what happens - I'm a little nervous, because I need to work that night, and I can't afford to feel poorly:sad2: But I can understand why he wants me to do this.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - Stephanie has a field trip that she has to get to daycare early

Have a good day!!!

Hello! I really didn't want to head back to work on Monday either! I had to leave early yesterdday because Fifi (the English bulldog) was sick. I took her to the vet that her previous owners used and wasn't very happy. I opted for conservative so we will try antibiotics for a week. if she gets worse we will have to have her spayed. It's not the end of the world, I just didn't like that the vet wanted to do that right away without confirming the diagnosis.
I took James & Emily to the orthodontist today. We are home now and I really don't want to head into work! I may just skip it!

slo - I hope all goes well with the chiropractor! Where was Stephanie's field trip to?

I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday:guilty:
My mom had her foot operated on, and she needed to be at the hospital by 8am. Before that though, I needed to get the girls to daycare, and getting them up and going that early is a HUGE challenge (especially Katie) - they were not happy :sad2:

My mom did well with her surgery, but she is in a very large amount of pain now. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, because she needs them. My dad is no help to her, because we believe he has Alzheimers (he won't admit it to get help - he tells my mom she is crazy). My poor mom asked him to fill her ice bag, and he didn't know where the ice was - he's gotten really bad. I told my mom I would come spend the night, and she firmly insisted "NO", so I told her that was okay, and if she needed anything to call.

After my mom's surgery, I was with her for awhile, and then I treated myself to the show - a show alone :goodvibes I went and saw the Indiana Jones movie, and boy was I disappointed :guilty: (sorry to those who liked it). I love the Indy Jones movies, and I was really looking forward to this - I was actually bummed out when I left the show:guilty: . Oh well, at least I got to go see it at the show:rolleyes:

Karen - How's your dog with the antibiotics? Hopefully she's better :wizard:

Well, I gotta go and workout (in the house today - it looks a little wet out there this morning).
Have a good day today!!!

TGIF!!!!!

sandy - glad you are back today! I will remember your mom (and dad) today! I really want to see Indiana Jones (and a bunch of others) right now! I'm sorry you were disappointed.

Fifi feels great, she has responded well to her antibiotics. She went in for a followup yesterday and her bloodwork is back to normal. The vet said she has heartworms (this started before we got her) so now we will have to treat her. I am going to transfer her chart to the vet we normally use. I took her to the vet her previous owner used because they would know her history, but I am going to move her records. i wasn't very pleased with the experience.
Next week we will stay on Dauphin Isalnd the whole week. Just in a regular house, not on the beach. I will have to drive back and forth to work. Jim and James will fish everyday with some friends. Emily is going to bring Lila. I won't let them go to the beach without an adult, but they can ride bikes to the country club, pay $1 and swim and tan with supervision. The kids fishing rodeo is this weekend (fingers crossed for James) and the big rodeo is the following weekend (fingers crossed for JIm & James)!
Have a great day!!

Hello all! I am up early today - we have another day of registration at the park. After that I have 1 patient to go see. What is everyone else doing today?

I'm anxiously waiting for my coffee to brew :surfweb:
I normally don't drink coffee anymore in the AM, because I workout, but I woke up and it was raining, so I decided to make some coffee :)

Not to much going on here today :sad2:
I'm going to work briefly this morning, and then I'm going to come home and do a little housecleaning. Tonight is my first night being lector at church, so I'm pretty excited/nervous about that. Then after church, we are having a bunch of friends come over - so that should be fun!!!!

Karen - I'm glad your doggy is doing better :dog:
**Thanks for keeping my parents in your thoughts - I appreciate it!!!:goodvibes
**Have fun next week at your vacation house - sounds like fun!!!!:cool1:
**I"m sorry you had to get up so early today :guilty: Hopefully the registration won't take to long.

Well, I gotta go and listen to the news tells me how much our electric bill is going to go up:eek: These times that we are in are really starting to scare me - how are we all going to live with everyone and everything raising their prices - scary!!!! :scared1:

Have a good day!!!

It's a beautiful, beautiful day here in the Chicago area :sunny:
I love love love laying out on a day like today:goodvibes
The girls and I are going to be the pool (me floating), and then we'll go to the fire dept picnic for a bite to eat, and then I'm going to come back and float:) What a glorious looking day!!!!! :sunny:

Last night was a lot of fun with our friends over. Everyone brought something to eat - one brought pizza, one brought Hooters wings, one brought shrimp and dip, and we did all the munchies - it was all yummy!!!:goodvibes My girlfriend and I sat out in the hottub for awhile, without the girls, and it was very relaxing. The children were a little ticked off that we told them they couldn't join us, but they got over it:rolleyes:

During the afternoon, I took the girls to the library - something I haven't done in forever (we never have time to go when it's open). I"m trying so hard to get Stephanie to read more, because she just doesn't like to read - which kills me, because I used to love reading at her age, and I still do today (even though I really haven't had time). I decided to read all 7 Chronicles of Narnia books, so I brought the first one home yesterday. The first one is The Lion, The Witch, and Wardrobe, and so far I'm just loving it. I read 1/2 the book yesterday, and I'm looking forward to finishing, and moving on to Prince Caspian. So far, the book is following the movie really well. There are some differences of course, but not much. So, I'll be reading that this afternoon while I"m laying out:thumbsup2

After I read all 7 of those books, I'm going to move on to Harry Potter. I've never seen any of the movies, so I'll be going into that with a fresh perspective. Then after that - I will look forward to seeing the movies. After those movies, I'll be asking you all for advice on what books I should read next. I'm not that familiar with many authors, so I don't know what to read. I've read almost all the older Stephen King books, and I'm a little hesitatant to read his newer material, because I have read and heard that they aren't as good (ever since his terrible accident). I do like James Pattersons older books, and there are some of his books that I do want to read. So when I need some material I'll ask you guys, and hopefully you can help:)

Yesterday was my first time lectoring at church, and I was nervous. I did really good though, and I got many compliments from those that knew it was my first time. The next time will be alot easier now, so I'm glad my first time is over:)

Kimba - Where are you??? We miss you!!! Please come visit soon!!!! :grouphug:

Well, I gotta go and do a little cleaning before we go outside.
Have a great and wonderful day everyone!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Jim & James had a great fishing trip yesterday. It was a good warm up for the big rodeo next week. Jim is like a different person when he is on vacation. We will head to the island tomorrow night. I think I will take Tuesday off so I can take the girls to the beach. I will take my chair, some sunscreen & a good book!

sandy - sounds like you have had a great weekend! I love to read. I read all over the place!! It just depends on my mood. Seeing you read will be a great inspiration to Steph. Sarah never developed a love of reading. She reads for school, but I did see her read a book for fun on a previous trip home! Emily never could finish a book for the longest time, then one day in 6th grade a light came on and now she reads constantly. James is about to start his 3rd required book for the summer, maybe 6th grade will be the charm for him , too.
I loved the Harry Potter series!!!! I also liked Series of Unfortunate Events. My kids have not read Harry Potter, but I embrace my nerdiness! I love historical fiction. I have also enjoyed the Twilight series (emily's fav) about vampires.

Have a great day!

Kimba - Where are you??? We miss you!!! Please come visit soon!!!! :grouphug:

I'm still here! I've been fighting a urinary tract infection and it's kicking my butt!! Been busy too. DH graduated from Fire School :woohoo:
I've decided to spend the summer teaching some in depth American history as well as some state history.
I've had alot of homework to do to get ready for it.

I used to love reading. I never seem to have time now. Well I am reading a book about American History that is quite fascinating. But I'm a history nerd;) I gotta go - I need to lie down for a while!
I'll be back! Thanks for asking!!

Kimba

Yesterday was a beautiful day here, and it's going to be another one today.:sunny:
The girls and I had a nice time in the pool, and then had a nice time at the fire dept picnic. We finally left when the kids got hosed down by a fireman with the actual fire hose (the kids loved it), and Katie became freezing wet. She became so upset, because she was so cold, that it was time to go. I kept telling her to go play with the other kids in the sun, and she'll dry off, but she didn't want to :sad2: Oh well, that's just how she gets:rolleyes:

Karen - I'm glad Jim and James had a good time, and you all will have a nice time at the vacation house. Taking off to go the beach sounds like a wonderful time :goodvibes Enjoy yourself!!!!!!
**I'm hoping that me reading again, will inspire Stephanie. She can't get over that I"m almost done with this book, and I just got it Saturday. I told her that reading takes practice like anything else, and that the more you read, the better you are at it. She laid in bed last night and read, so I was happy to see her to that :)

Kimba - Good to see you!!!! :)
**Congrats to your DH from graduting from fire school :cheer2:
**Where are you teaching at? I love history also, and I originally was history major in college. Good luck with your teaching - I hope it goes well for you:wizard: I'll also send some PD your way to help you feel better - UTIs are terrible!!!!!! I hope you get better soon!!!!:wizard: :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and go out and walk.
I had a really bad food weekend, and it's time to work it off
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hi everyone! This weekend I went and got a new iphone. I absolutely love it, but I have a feeling older generations wouldnt appreciate it to the same degree.

I love to read and I read a ot when I was little. i read a condensed version of great expectations when I was in 3rd grade and it really made me confident. Our school had a read-a-thon every year. My mom also read a lot and read to us a lot. When I was little my mom read lion the witch and the wardrobe to us, but i hardly remember it. oh ya... when i was very little my mom went to read me a bedtime story so she asked what i wanted her to read. so i jumped up and ran to the living room and came back with the biggest book i could find...the phone book! (FYI i dont remember doing that) Cant you tell I love to read. My favorites are harry potter, but not the movies (dont get me started) and the last few books were lacking in comparison to the earlier ones.

im glad everyone sounds like they are doing well.

Kimba-feel better:sick:

My sister just went to the doctor for a uti and found out that she has a vitamin D dificiency.

:surfweb: (I wish I was drinking coffee, but it's water)

I didn't get good news yesterday at work.
My highschool employee told me that her other job (of which I approved her getting for summer, because I didn't think it would be a big deal) told her that she had to choose either me or them:mad: When THEY hired her, they told her they would work around me (it's Jewel). She wanted to work only 1 day a week there during the school year, and then more when she is on breaks and next summer. THEY told her that they wouldn't do that, and that THEY won't guarantee her a job next summer, of which she wants, because THEY are promising her a position at a Jewel closest to her college.

Needless to say, I sorta flipped out when she told me this. I told her that she needs to make a decision and tell me tomorrow, because I need to start looking for a new employee. I also told her that she promised me that she would stay with me until she left for college, and how she is basically screwing me over by leaving, because I will literally be working every single second the store is open. I told her I wasn't happy :sad2: Down deep, I know she is going to chose THEM, because they are going to give her work at college. So....it looks like my normal work schedule is not going to be happening anymore:sad2: I'm not really mad at her, but I am furious with Jewel for putting a gun to her head:mad: . It's not like they are hurting for help. So we'll she what she says today.

CB - That's so cute that you wanted to read the phone book :)
**Have fun with your new iphone :teeth:

Well guys, I gotta go jump in the shower, because this is an early day for us. Stephanie is going to the Shedd Aquarium with daycare, and I have an 8:02am Chamber function that I have to attend to.

Have a good day today!!!

2 questions:

what kind of shop do you own?

What is jewel?

just wondering! Have a good day. Todays my busy crappy day where I go to work, then class, then back to work, then back to another class and that class is extra long today (3 1/2 hours). yuk.

It's going to be so hot today!!! :sunny:
I'm so glad to be off today, so I can soak up the sun :beach:

My employee did choose Jewel, so now I'm praying that I find an employee soon. I"m not happy at all that this happened :sad2:. I still can't believe that Jewel made her choose - that's so wrong!!!! Oh well, I'm not going to dwell on it, because there's nothing I can do about it. I told her the door is always open for her, and if something doesn't work out, to please come see me, and hopefully I can give her a job again. I also told her that I would use her for babysitting, because my girls adore her. She liked hereing that, because she felt bad about quitting, but Jewel is paying her so much more than what I'm paying her.

CB - Jewel is a large grocery store chain, here in the Midwest (I'm sorry I didn't explain that better. You were probably like this:confused:  ). The store I own is custom picture framing store, and not something that is easy to train someone in :sad2: So once I train someone, I'm hoping that stay for awhile.
**I hope your day yesterday went fast, and wasn't to bad.

Well, I gotta get out and get walking - it's going to be a hot one!!!! :sunny:
Have a good day!!!

Yesterday was an awesome hot day around here!!! :sunny:
The girls and I were by the pool from 11:30am until almost 5:30pm :beach:
My tan is coming along very very nicely!!!! :teeth:

My reading of the Narnia series is moving right along. I started on Saturday, and I've already finished the first 2 books. The first book is a pre-quel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and it explained many things - it was great!!!! The 3rd book is waiting for me at the libraray, so I need to go get it today or tomorrow - I can hardly wait!!!!!:)

Well, I gotta get going and get my day started
Have a good day today everyone!!!

sandy - I am so sorry about your employee!! That's awful! I will kep my fingers crossed for you! I am glad you are having good pool days.

cb - Congrats on the Iphone! I would love one!! I will just hang in there with my Blackberry for now.

kimba - how are you feeling?

I stayed at my house last night, but I will drive back to the island this evening. The Liar's Contest for the rodeo is tonight and I want to see that. There was no WiFi at our house, so I couldn't check in. The girls (Emi & Lila) are supposed to check some of the local businesses. They say it's for me, but I know they want to check their MySpace!

Have a great day!

I am just loving this hot hot hot weather we are having!!!! :sunny:
My flowers are just exploding with color - they really needed this sun and heat :flower:
I'm so bummed that it's going to rain this weekend:umbrella:, but I guess we need it (things are getting a little dry around here). The only benefit for me, that it's going to rain, is that it forces me to stay indoors and get stuff done. With this awesome hot weather, I"m outside all the time, and therefore, I've been neglecting my housecleaning. Oh well, the house is getting that dirty either, because we are never in it to dirty it - so it's all good!!!!;)

Karen - How was the Liars Contest last night (oh, and what is it?)? I hope you had fun!!!!
**Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me, because I don't want to work every waking minute of my life again :sad2: I love my store, but I don't need to live there. Plus, I've been enjoying having our dinners together as a family, at a decent time again - not 7:30pm. Oh well, it's all a part of owning your own business, but it's not the good part:sad2:

Well, I gotta go work out, and get to work
Have a good day today everyone!!

I got a crazy surprise when I came home yesterday - a puppy!!!! :dog:

I've been talking about how much I wanted a Yorkie someday, for awhile now, and Kevin got in touch with a breeder, and here she is. She's tiny, tiny, tiny - 3lbs, and she won't get any heavier than 5lbs. We named her Sophie, and she is so cute!!!!:goodvibes I will take a picture and post it soon. She is going to start going to work with me on Monday, and she will be with me all the time!! We even took her to my mom's house yesterday to celebrate my brothers birthday. She was a very good girl last night, and slept the whole night - I was proud of her!!! I put her little travel crate in our room, so she could be with us - I think it helped her be more relaxed and not feel alone. Tonight, we'll have to go to a pet store and buy some things for her. She needs toys and things to chew, because she now has only one toy from the breeder. I just gave her a toilet paper tube and she seems to be having fun with that. Our lives are about to change, but that's okay, she's going to be a wonderful addition to our lives:goodvibes :goodvibes

Well, I must go and get ready for work, so Kevin and the girls are going to be in puppy duty for awhile today. I hope they get her outside on time when she needs to go potty. None of them are used to watching a puppy, because I've always been the keeper of the puppy with the other dogs we've had. Oh well, I'm sure they'll do fine.

Have a good day!!!

sandy - how exciting about Sophie!! That was a good suprise!

I am just running by this am. I had to come back to town for cheerleading registration, so I thought I'd pop in.

The Liar's Contest is just that! They tell "fish stories" and the best lie/story wins. I didn't get to go though! I didn't make it back to the island in time. Jim & the kids went, though.

Talk to ya'll later!!
