Calling all Fireman wives!!!

It's so nice now that Katie sleeps in a little bit - we got up at 8:35 today - that's awesome!!! I haven't been able to sleep in this long for 10 years. Before we had Stephanie, we had Sampson (our German Shepherd that passed away), and then we had Stephanie who never slept in When Stephanie became old enough to sleep in longer, we had a puppy that would get me up, and then after he was older, Katie was born - so, it's literally been 10 years


Last night we watched the movie The Good Shepherd, and all I can say about it is - OMG it was so BORING and so L O N G !!!!!! If any of you are interested in this - it's almost 3 hours long, that seems like it's 4 hours long It doesn't move fast, and make sure you have no background noise in your house, because there is so much mumbling that it's hard to hear what people are saying. Yeah, it was a real waste of my money and time - it was pretty awful!!!!

We woke up this morning to a crying baby deer laying in the cul-de-sac. When we started to approach it (I thought it was hit by a car and dying) it popped up and stumbled away. I was relieved that it did, because I was concerned about the mother coming after us if we got to close, but at the same time I couldn't let it die alone (if it was dying). I sure hope it found it's mother, because it was crying really really loud - how sad, it was lost!!!


Yesterday was a good relaxing day at home. We had some good pool time, and I got to much sun I did alot of floating, and then layed on the deck for quite awhile - it was great!!!!!

Tonight is going to be the first time I'm going to leave my employee at the store alone for a couple of hours. I'm going to start doing this 3 days a week - I think she will be fine. She's a smart girl, and she's not afraid to ask questions - I really like her

Hi everyone! Sorry for my loooong absence! I started my new job and it is going well. I've been there part time for over a year so it has been a pretty smooth transition. We are also re-doing the living room - new paint, newarea rug, new furniture, etc... The computer had to be moved out during all of this. We are almost done! I have the laptop plugged into the phone line for now so I can finally check my email!

Exciting news!!!! My mom is going to take James & Emily to WDW at the end of the month!!!! They are pretty pumped! Do I have the best mom ever or what?????

Well, I am off to a meeting and then it will be back to work in the living room!

Good morning and TGIF!
The new couch will be delivered today! After that, we can put the room back together. We are going to have a huge run to Goodwill! Then I can put together the new work area for the computer. The phone company will be out next week to install the new phone outlet for the new computer area, until then it's laptop in the living room! We have a wireless router, but haven't been able to get it going.

Slo - how has business been? Did your employee do well alone? She sounds great! I may have to consult with you about framing a jersey and a cheer uniform or two in the future!

Well I am off to get ready for work. Word aroundthe office is that if it is slow we will get to go home early! That would give me extra time to get ready for cheerleading registration - it starts Saturday!

I didn't post yesterday - that is so unlike me

I've been waking up a little later in the morning (I'm taking advantage of Stephanie not having to get up early for school), and with all this heat, I have to water my flowers instead of DIS. Then I was going to DIS from work, but I had a customer first thing yesterday morning, and then a couple of other customers after that - yesterday was a good day!!!

Our 4th of July was pretty good.
The parade we did was SO HOT!!!!!! We had to stand in the heat for 1 1/2 hours waiting for it to start, and then when it started, there were so many people. If you put the spectators together at the other 2 parades, that's how many were at this parade. This parade was alot of work - not enjoyable at all I was so glad when it was over so I could go home and go into my pool. Then after we were home, the day was awesome!!! Good company, good food, good fireworks - just a great time!!!!!


Karen - I'm glad the new job is starting off well That's great news!!!!

That's great about the couch coming today - new furniture is so exciting!!!!

My employee did great by herself, and I'm going to give her a key on Saturday. I've been going back to close up the store, but that's a pain in the butt. I told Kevin that I think she can handle closing the computer and locking up - he agreed!!!

Good Morning! TGIF! I guess today is my Saturday because I'm off work today but I work tomorrow. It's been a hard week at work and I really needed to have a day off! Only 7 more work days until vacation!

Sandy - It sounds like business is picking up somewhat! We told you it would!

Karen - The living room sounds great. We're going to do ours this fall. We have lots of home improvement stuff planned for this fall...new kitchen table and chairs (we have a big country kitchen, no dining room, so it gets lots of use!), new family room furniture, new carpeting in the family room and new hardwood floors in the living room. We are going to wait until DH gets his greenhouse finished up and the kids are back in school before we get started, though!

Yesterday was a great day!!
I had some sales at the store, I was able to leave and eat dinner with my family, and then after I came home from closing up the store, me and the kids did some night-time swimming. Yesterday was a good day!!!!


Today is going to be hot!!!
I'm looking forward to going swimming again tonight.

Hello everyone! We had our first day of cheerleading registration, 19 girls signed up. it went smoothly. Tonight my mom and dad, both sisters and one nephew came over. We grilled ribs and chicken. We cooked some fresh corn, baked beans, etc... Very relaxed and low key.

sandy - I am glad you had a good day on Friday! It must be really nice to have a pool! I don't think my kids would ever get out!

kathy - what are your vacation plans?

I slept in today, and it sure feels nice to not have to rush out of the house. We are staying home all day, and spending it in the pool - it's going to be hot outside

What a great day yesterday!!!
I was in the pool from 10am until 6pm - it was wonderful!!!!!
For 2 1/2 of those hours I kept the girls inside, so they wouldn't get to much heat. During those 2 1/2 hours I floated in peace and quiet Yeah.....it was great!!!! I now have some sunburn, but I don't care, I wouldn't change a thing



Well, I guess I should go give my flowers a drink so they don't fry today

I'm glad your new job is going well - that's very good news!!!

Business was very very slow yesterday
I only had one sale yesterday, and that was for about $10. But that $10 came from one of my favorite customers, and it was so good to see him. I've been helping him and his wife since I was 18/19 years old, and I'm so glad that my new store has their support

I'm hoping today will be a better day
But it's summer, and the other store I worked at was always slow during the summer too.

sandy - I noticed in your ticker that your cruise is in 3 months! How exciting! Are ya'll doing land and sea or just sea?

I have sent in everything for our November trip for Emily to march in the parade. Now I am just waiting for all of the confirmation info.

We are getting busy with meeetings, etc.. in preparation for the upcoming football season. So much to do!!!!! Practice will start July 30. I'll be glad to get through this month! Once we settle into practice, etc... it gets a little better. James only has 3 more years to play at the park level and then it will be school ball for him. He could actually start school ball sooner, but he really wants to stay with this coach/team until the end!
