Stephanie came home from school yesterday with awesome news ---- SHE PASSED HER LEVEL 4 TIME TEST!!!!!:cheer2: This was such wonderful news because she has now met the goal for the year (imagine me wiping me brow with a towel). So, to congratulate her, we let her make a new Build-A-Bear at the mall, and she made a cute pink kitty.

Dinner at Joe's Crab Shack was very yummy :goodvibes I had my coconut shrimp and I was happy!!!!:goodvibes :) :goodvibes :)

Congratulations Stephanie!! Way to go!

We got some exciting news about Emily. She is going to be inducted into the Junoir National Honor Society next week! This is the first year they have inducted sixth graders & she's one os them! I haven't told her becasue whne Sarah got in, it was supposed to be a secret. So until I hear otherwise, I am going to keep it a secret.

James & I are going today to watch Haley play softball. Emily doesn't get home from her slumber party intil 3pm.

Congratulations to Emily!

It's so nice to see good news on here!

My Orthopedic appointment went well yesterday.

He said that the problem is a "mechanical problem" and he firmly believes that it's not a connective tissue problem (thank God). So, I have to go to physical therapy a couple of times a week for about 6 weeks (like I have time for that). So I'm going to go back to the same physical therapy place I went to for my neck last year, and I start next Tuesday. Then I have to go back and see the doctor again in 5 weeks. So, it was pretty good news, and since this is someone I know personally, I trust that he is giving me the best care :)

This does sound like good news Sandy! I'm so glad for you!

I have a proud mom moment to share with you all.

Last night was special person/grandparent night at Steph's school. I went with her, because they said only one grandparent, and I didn't want her to have to choose between my parents and my in-laws. So when we were there, one of Stephanie's friends says to me, "are you her mom?" I said, "yes". The little girl said to me, "she talks about you alot" and I said "is it nice things?" and she smiles and says "yes". Boy did that make me feel good:goodvibes Then Stephanie's art teacher told me how much of a joy she is, and how she's such a good child, and very good in art - that made me feel so good too:goodvibes I just wanted to share that with you all.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Definitely a proud mom moment! :)

Abby - Welcome back!

rentayenta and Tamara - Welcome to our thread. Hope to see you around often. I am married to a volunteer firefighter. His full-time job is as a sheriff's deputy. I am also a volunteer firefighter and the treasurer for our department. We have four children: princess: DD21, pirate: DS18, pirate: DS14 and pirate: DS12. DD21 is in her fourth year of college. (She's on a five year plan ;) ), DS18 is a junior in high school and is very involved with Special Olympics. He has Down Syndrome. DS14 is a freshman in high school and loves video games. And DS12 is in 7th grade and loves basketball! Again - WELCOME!!

Hi there Kathy!!!!

It's good to see you posting again :)
How are you feeling today? I'm still sending tons of PD:wizard:

How are things going with your DD's wedding plans?
Has she been able to keep you updated while you were sick?

Well, I'm off to spend another day alone with the kids
Kevin was at FD school yesterday, again today, and then all next weekend (he's not happy about it - there's just to much going on right now).

Have a good day today everyone!!

Thanks for all the pixie dust. It's been working wonders.

DD's wedding plans are kind of on hold right now. We've had some family issues come up and the way it looks right now is that if she still plans to get married in May she will be getting married in Charlotte in a very simple ceremony that she and her fiance put together. It's been a hard situation for DH and I.

I know how those days alone with the kids are. DH has more of those kind of days with the sheriff's office than with the FD but still has plenty of those days. :sad2: At least you get some quality time with the girls, though!

kathy - welcome back!!!! I missed you!!

Emily's squad took 2nd place this weekend! It was an awesome competition - they did a great job both days!

James' team won their game!

It was a good, but exhausting weekend! I am now knee deep in laundry!:laundy:

Happy Monday everyone!

Hard to believe that I came home from the hospital two weeks ago today!

Idroveallnight - Congratulations to Emily and to James! :cool1: Knee deep in laundry??? Isn't that the way we're supposed to live? :rotfl: With 3 boys I'm always knee deep in laundry! DH did an awesome job of playing Mr. Mom and keeping up with dishes, cleaning and laundry, though, while I was sick! - He also said that he never realized how much laundry I do! :lmao:

We had such a beautiful day yesterday :sunny:
The girls were outside from 10:30am until 6:30pm. They even ate lunch outside. The fresh air was good for them.

Kathy - I'm sorry that issues have arrived with the wedding :guilty:
If you want to talk about it, I'll be here to listen

Karen - Congrats to both of your kids!!! They had an awesome weekend :cheer2:

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Sounds like a great day!!! We can hardly keep Matthew in the house now that spring is here. He wants to be outside constantly! He's already mowed the yard, weedeated, put the aerator (sp?) on the riding mower and done all the back yard. Saturday he got bored here so he went to our neighbors and mowed and weedeated!

Kathy - I'm sorry that issues have arrived with the wedding :guilty:

Thanks Sandy! There were just a lot of issues and I just don't feel that it's right at this time. Needless to say, DD is not happy with us. Still talking to us but not happy.

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hope you have a great day at work.

I drove today, for the first time since I came home from the hospital. I went to the FD to do the treasurer's report and then met a friend at the park. It felt so good to get out!

Stephanie and I aren't doing to much while she is on spring break. Yesterday I worked, so the girls were at my mom's. Today, I invited Stephanie's twin friends to come over in the afternoon - she is SO EXCITED about this:hyper: . I have never invited any of her friends over before, so this will be fun for her. Then one day this week we are going to need to get to the mall to see the Easter Bunny (he better be here by now  )

This morning Stephanie gets to go to physical therapy with me - she's excited to see where I go. The physical therapists already told me that she's going to put Stephanie to work - she'll love that!!!!:teeth:

Kathy - It sounds like you are feeling much better - that's great!!!! :goodvibes
**I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your DD and her wedding :guilty: When you want to talk, let me know

Well, I gotta run and go fold a mountain of laundry.
Have a good day today everyone!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Sandy - I hope you enjoy your time with Stephanie today. Better watch out, though. If she goes to physical therapy with you and they tell her what to be doing to help you out you're going to end up with your very own personal nurse at home!! ;) :)

A.J. is going to a volleyball clinic at ASU after school today (sponsored through Special Olympics). He is so excited about it. I have to pick him up at 5:45 this afternoon. This will be the first time that I've driven to town since I got home.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Sandy - How did PT go yesterday? Was Stephanie impressed with seeing where you get to go??

Today I have my appointment with my regular doctor. Oh boy!!

I did fine driving to town yesterday. Good thing 'cause I have to make two trips to town today. (One for my doctor's appointment and then back again to pick A.J. up. He's going to a spring celebration where they get to do some planting and such.)

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Wow Kathy - you are up early.
But then again, I guess you are an hour ahead of me so it's 7am by you, and not 6am like it is here.

Stephanie enjoyed my PT yesterday - my therapist is really nice. She would explain things to Steph so she could understand what she is doing.

I'm glad driving went well yesterday.
How was AJ's Volleyball Clinic? Did he enjoy it? I hope so!!!
I hope he enjoys his Spring Celebration today.

Good luck at your doctor today:wizard:
I hope that goes well for you - keep us posted!!!!!

Well, I'm off and running
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!

Sandy - Glad to hear that Stephanie enjoyed your PT. I bet she's really helpful with stuff like that.

A.J. enjoyed volleyball and the Spring Celebration. Next week the Special Olympics team is playing an exhibition game at the university. They're playing against the campus police department. Should be a lot of fun!

My doctor visit went well. He put me on an antibiotic because he's not 100% sure that the pneumonia is completely gone. They had said it was when I was discharged from the hospital but then I got a cold and now I've got a cough. So I also have to go for a chest xray Monday or Tuesday. Other than that I'm good.

I stopped by where I work and said hi to everyone and picked up a few groceries. That kind of wore me out and I was really tired when I got home.

Allen has a class all day today and I think I'm going to take advantage of a quiet house and go back to bed once everyone has left. ;)

Stephanie's dentist appointment went well yesterday - no cavities!!!!:woohoo: (I was nervous, and so was she) But she had lost a couple of teeth about a month ago that were suppossed to be lost when she was more around 12 (according to the dentist) and the new teeth are having a hard time finding where to go. He said in 6 months he will know better, but more than likely we will be seeing an orthodontist before X-Mas:guilty: A 9 year old is not going to like that at all :sad2:

Kathy - I'm so glad that AJ enjoyed his activities the last couple of days:) I'll be cheering for his team here from Indiana:cheer2:
**I'm sorry your pneumonia may be back:guilty: I was hospitalzied for a week with severe pneumonia once - it is no fun:sad2: When you were in the hospital did you have someone come and pound on your back and sides to help get the phlem out? I did - 3 times a day:rolleyes: I sure you start to feel better soon:wizard:
**I would definitly go back to bed today if I were you - you can't get to much rest. I'll be thinking of you!!!!

Karen and Abbey - Where are you????

Well, I gotta go get ready for work. It's my 1 out of 5 days left (I quit my job yesterday. It was very very hard to do, but something I had to do)
Have a good day today!!!

Wow, Sandy! I can't believe you quit your job. I know how hard that must have been since you've been with them so long. But you know it was time to move on.

Are you doing real estate at all??

Tell Stephanie congratulations on no cavities!! :cool1: Way to go. My boys are that way. They've had maybe one or two their whole lives. Now DD was a different story. :sad2:

No, I didn't have anyone pounding on me but I did have to do those breathing treatments four times a day. I've been hospitalized twice before with double pneumonia. No fun at all!

Have a good day at work.

You all know - I love Fridays!!!!! :woohoo:

Kathy - It really was hard, but it had to be done for me to focus on my future plans. No, I'm not doing the real estate, and I need to call the real estate office and tell them to put my license on hold down state. Real estate is something I can't do right now with the kids so young. I have no one to watch them while I would need to be gone. It's unfortunate that I did all that studying last year, but at the same time, I always enjoy expanding my mind and knowledge about things when I can. Plus, I think it's good for Stephanie to see that schooling doesn't have to end when you are done with college. That you can always still learn and go to school for something.

Well, I gotta run and jump in the shower
My mom, the girls, and I are going to the mall to see The Easter Bunny this morning - they are very very excited!!!!

peter.gif

Have a good day today!!!

Sandy - Hope you all have fun seeing the Easter Bunny. Tell him I said hi!
I understand completely about the real estate job. There are so many jobs like that that won't work with young kids at home. I know, I've been there. And I agree completely about kids seeing parents still learning and studying and such. I went back to school full-time in 2000 and the kids saw me working, keeping house and doing school work. I went for two years (still didn't graduate though :lmao: ) and managed to keep a 4.0 average. Andrew has said many times that he remembers that and it keeps him motivated. If some old lady can get good grades why can't he. :rotfl:

I am going to go to Walmart today to pick up a few things. Then I'll probably come home and have to take a nap. ;)

Happy Friday to all!
