Ok, so I now officially have vacation envy!!

We have been so busy I feel like I haven't been here at all.
Sarah is loving college. She hasn't come home yet, but she told me when she left it wouldn't be untilThanksgiving. I miss her, but I am glad she is happy!

Emily is doing great in middle school. She hasn't had any adjustment problems. Her first round of 8 progress reports is all A's with one B. The teacher did tell her that her B is the highest grade in the class, so we a very excited. The school she is at is a very tough academic school. Does anyone else have magnet schools where they are?

James is settling in to 4th grade. We spent the first 3 weeks of school trying to get his class changed. The first teacher he had yells alot! I just knew it would have a negative impact so I fought to get him moved. He likes his new teacher, but she is hard. His grades are still great, just not his usual level. I think they will improve once he settles in to the new routine.

I'm so glad to hear that Sarah is loving college. I know our daughter has always loved "being away" at college. And her first year she didn't come home until Thanksgiving either. I could not believe how much she had grown up and matured from the beginning of school until Thanksgiving.

Sounds like Emily is a super student. Andrew would benefit from a school like that. We don't have magnet schools here, don't even have middle schools for that matter.

I remember 4th grade being a big year for both Matthew and Andrew, a lot more responsibility so it took them a little longer to get on track. At least you had the option of switching him to another class under the circumstances. In our school there is only one class for each grade level.

Good Morning All!

Very sad morning for our area and I would like to ask for prayers for a local family and also for DH.

Last night (around 11:30) one of the guys on DH's shift passed an apartment complex and saw smoke. He called it in. DH was less than a mile away and was on the scene in less than a minute. He and the other deputy started going door to door to find the fire and get the residents out. One apartment door opened and the flames rolled out. About six people got out of that apartment. The woman was screaming for her girls but neither DH or the deputy could get back in because of the flames. Three little girls did not make it out. DH thought they were 6, 7 and 8. The woman and her husband escaped with their one year old. I cannot even imagine their pain as I am crying just from typing this.

DH is dealing with the helpless feeling of not being able to get in there. He is also dealing with the absolute anger that he is feeling. This complex houses mostly hispanics. The slum lord had no working smoke detectors and no fire extinguishers in the complex! If there had been a smoke detector they may have known sooner; if there had been a fire extinguisher DH and the deputy may have had a little chance before the FD got there.

It's just so sad.

So please remember this family!

TGIF everyone!!!!

Last night we took the girls to buy stickers to put in their sticker books on the airplane. I have one things to say about stickers..........
Those things are expensive!!!!!!!
I let each of them pick out 10 a piece and at $1.25 a piece, that adds up!!! I told them they could have 5 on the way there and 5 on the way home - they seemed okay with that!!

Today I am going for my real estate pictures because I cancelled the other day due to the awful rain we had. The streets around me were closing due to flooding, and I was afraid I wouldn't get home for Steph to get off the bus. I'm so glad with my decision.

Then tonight, my in-laws are coming over for dinner because they are leaving tomorrow for Florida (for those that don't know or don't remember, we stay wth them the first couple of days in the Clearwater area before we head off to WDW), and it's my FIL's B-day tomorrow.

While we are having dinner, Steph has soccer practice, so she will have to eat later (I haven't shared that with her yet ) So, another busy day!!

Idroveallnight - I'm glad that each of your children are enjoying school. I can't even imagine how much you miss Sarah I know how lonely I feel when Stephanie goes to spend the night at Grandma. Before you know it, Thanksgiving will be here

eeyoresmountainpals - What a sad, sad, sad story!!!! I will absolulty keep this family in my thoughts and prayers. I feel very sad for your DH also. Kevin has never had this happen to him, but he has had witnessed other tragedies to children that really shook him up for several several days. I will keep you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers too Please keep us posted on this.

Yesterday I didn't get my picture taken because the photographer was sick I got all ready, Katie and I went all the way out there, to find out she wasn't there The receptionist said she left me a message, I told her she didn't, and as it turns out, she left the message at someone else's house So now I have to go back. Oh well, I guess worse things could happen - but it's still annoying!!!!!

Today, Steph has a morning soccer game, and then we are covering the pool - summer is officially over

slo - congrats on the countdown! We will miss you while you are gone! Sorry about your picture confusion. I can't believe you are covering your pool! It is still so hot here. The evenings are becoming more pleasent, but it is still hot!

Just thought I'd pop on here and say hi!

Matthew's team won their game 7 - 0!!! They played great! They're a good team, no hot shots or ball hogs. They all work together and pass the ball! Matthew was goalie for the first half and didn't let any get by. Then for most of the second half he was on offense.

slo - How did Stephanie's game go????

Idroveallnight - You can keep that hot weather! Ours has turned to fall weather and I'm loving it!!! I love fall. This week we had two days that we never got above 60! And today is sunny and the high will be in the high 60's - we may hit 70!

I think I'm going to go take advantage of actually having a Saturday off and curl up and take a little nap!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!

I saw the most beautiful sunrise this morning Everything was pink - it was amazing!!! It's been a long time since I've seen a sunrise like that.

It was a gorgeous day yesterday . We worked outside and got the pool covered. It is now officially fall for us now that the pool has been put to sleep

Today I am packing. I'm hoping to get the majority of it done.

Idroveallnight - I wish it were still hot here. I could have used a couple of more weeks with the pool. But the temps are going to be in the 40's at night and the 60's during the day this week.

eeyoresmountainpals - That's great that Matthew won his game Stephanie's team won too 3 - 0 She doesn't get to play as much as the other kids - she's not as good as them, or as big. Luckily, she doesn't seem to mind
Oh....I've been meaning to ask you about the pig in your avatar. Do you have a pig at home as a pet? I've heard they make great pets. Or do you just like this picture?

The girls are so excited!!!!
Katie keeps asking me several several times a day, "We going on vacation?" When I say yes, she does this cute little dance - it's so cute!!!
Stephanie thought we were leaving next Thursday. When I told her it was this Thursday she started screaming with excitement. Pretty soon, they won't be able to sleep
