You are right, she did get over it!!! :cool1: She said her teacher is really nice and she has kids in her class that she knows - I was very happy when I heard that :cheer2: Plus....she felt really good when she was able to leave, because everyone else had to stay for the math session :teeth:

I'm so glad she seemed to enjoy her first day!!! Idroveallnight is so right...as reading becomes easier she'll enjoy it so much more.

Have a nice day everyone. I have a busy one ahead.

Good morning ladies! Everyone have a SUPER day!! DOn't forget Father's Day this weekend! What are the dads at your houses getting? JIm is getting an Ipod shuffle to listen to while he does yards. :music: I may also buy him a couple of nice cigars :smokin: He and my dad enjoy smoking a good cigar on the back deck!

Good Friday morning!!!!

We are leaving this afternoon for Indianapolis, so I won't be DISing until Monday. We are staying in a train car in Union Station, which is something I've wanted to do for a long time :thumbsup2 . While we are there, we are going to the zoo on Saturday and the Childrens Museum on Sunday. It should be a fun weekend!!!!! :cool1:

Kathy - How did your pulmonary function test and chest x-ray go yesterday?? I was thinking of you!!!

Karen - Your Father's Day gifts sound great!!! :thumbsup2 Kevin is getting a grill light, and the second season of Emergency :firefight on DVD - did you guys used to watch this show in the 70's? I got him the first season for X-Mas, but he hasn't watched them yet :sad2: He's still trying to finish all the Miami Vice DVD's I also got him for X-Mas :p

Well, I gotta go and pack for our mini-trip. Have a good weekend everyone!!

slo - have a great trip!!

kathy - how were the tests?

James had a practice game last night (with Allstars). The team looked great! This was their first game together and they have only had 3 practices. James got 5 people out, so he had a really good game! James' bday party party: is next week. He is having a sleepover & then Jim and one of his friends will take the boys to an afternoon baseball game. I think it will be fun!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Good Morning All!

The Pulmonary Function Test went fine. The technician said I did excellent. I'm hoping to get the results of the chest x-ray from my dr. today but it was late afternoon by the time I got finished at the hospital so he may not get the results until Monday. They called from the cardiologist to make the appointment and I go in there on July 6th. Thanks for asking!

slo- Hope you have a great weekend trip. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Idroveallnight - Sounds like you'll be staying busy this summer with baseball. Your family sounds so much like ours....on the go all the time and one of us always running with one or more kids! :lmao: That's why we had so many kids!!! It keeps you young! :teeth:

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd drop in here for a quick post...

I talked to the doctor's office this afternoon! I called for the results of the chest xray and the pulmonary function test and they said that the chest xray came back completely clear!!! Out of all of it, that's what I was more afraid of than anything! My dad died of lung cancer and it was found on a routine chest xray so naturally that was in the back of my mind!!!

They didn't have the results of the Pulmonary Function test back yet but since the technician told me yesterday that I did fine and she saw no problems I'm not too concerned!

I have my apppointment with the cardiologist on July 6th. I'm still nervous but not as nervous about that.

Thanks for all your prayers and pixie dust!!

kathy - I am so happy for you!! I know you feel relieved! Maybe all the cardiologist will need to do is adjust your meds!!!! Have a great day!

Thanks! I'm really starting to think that it may be a med problem. Three of the BP meds that I'm on have a side effect of an irregular heartbeat.

I've also finally decided to go to be tested for sleep apnea. Deep down inside I feel that this may be the problem of the irregular heartbeat and I know that I have it but have never gone for testing. My aunt has it (very severe) and although my dad was never diagnosed with it (he died in 1976 before they really knew much about it) I know that he had it. I have put off going for the testing for too long and I know I need to go so I've finally decided to follow through on it.

Here are the three recipes that I told you guys about and you asked me to post links to:

Red Lobster's Shrimp Scampi

http://www.recipezaar.com/47613?path=00C00B

(I'm going to try this later today so I'll let you know how it is!)

Olive Garden's Alfredo Sauce

http://www.recipezaar.com/59913

This is about the best alfredo sauce I've ever had!!! I made Fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken last week for DH's birthday dinner and everyone loved it. Then the next night I used the leftover sauce and mixed it with some seashell macaroni and imitation crab. It was even better than the fettuccini!!!!!

The recipe calls for 2 Tablespoons of cream cheese but there are reviews at the end and several people suggested increasing the cream cheese to 8 ounces, which I did.

And finally,

Outback's Coconut Shrimp

http://www.recipezaar.com/33239

This was very good but a lot of work and pretty costly. Plus, it's pretty hard to find nice sized shrimp around here. If you were serving a crowd it might be worth it but DH is allergic to shrimp so it was just for me. I've decided that for the cost and the work involved, I'll just get them at Outback.

Thanks for the recipes! I will have to try the Alfredo! The coconut shrimp might be good for us as jumbo shrimp are easy to get here!

Good Monday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

HAPPY BELATED FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DIS DADS!!!! :teeth:

We had a very nice weekend!!! :cool1:
The train car that we stayed in was really neat, but I would never do it again. The room is very long and narrow and we only had 2 double beds  (that's all that would fit in the room) . Trying to get a good nights sleep in one of those beds when you are used to a king size bed is not easy :sad2: We brought a blow-up bed for Stephanie to sleep in, and I hated it!!!! Everytime Stephanie would turn, it would sound like you are rubbing a balloon. Then the next night we put Katie in it so Stephanie could sleep on the bed, and the poor thing tossed and turned all night - that meant I didn't sleep all night :sad2: Needless to say, that thing is going back to the store  I was so glad to be in my own bed last night, and I slept really good!!!

Friday after we checked in we went to Circle Center Mall (in Indianapolis) and saw Cars. I really enjoyed it - very good movie. :thumbsup2

Saturday we took the kids to the Indianapolis Zoo, and it was a really nice zoo :thumbsup2 The size of the zoo was perfect - not to big and not to small. We didn't stay all day because it was so hot out that day :sunny: and Katie was getting crabby. So after we left the zoo we went to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway :car: so we could take Stephanie on the bus tour. She enjoyed being on the race track, and I enjoyed seeing all the changes that's gone on within the speedway.

Sunday we went to the Indianapolis Childrens Museum and that place was awesome!!! I would recommend going there to all you that have young children :thumbsup2 We were there for approx 4 1/2 hours and we could have stayed alot longer, but we wanted to get on the road to come home.

So outside of feeling like we were in a sardine can, and not getting much sleep in our hotel room - we had a great weekend!!!! :cool1:

Idroveallnight - Congrats to James on his awesome game last week :cool1: :cheer2:

eeyoremountainpals - I'm so glad that your chest x-ray came out clear :cheer2: I've been thinking about you alot this weekend  Thanks for the receipes - I'm going to have to check them out!!! :thumbsup2

I better go get Stephanie up for school - have a good day everyone!!

slo - glad ya'll are home safely! It sounds fun! I always have a hard time sleeping away from my own bed!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Good morning!! :surfweb:

Yesterday was such a great day!! I got a lot of laundry done, planted more flowers, and the girls and I went in the pool :sunny: I'm starting to really enjoy only working 2 day a week :thumbsup2 :teeth: .

Today I am going to work. I hope there is something to do there, because I hate sitting around doing nothing.

Have a good day!!

Well, James' sleepover is tonight & the ballgame is tomorrow. I think he will enjoy it. He doesn't usually get the big turn out parties like Emily because he has a summer birthday. Hannah the puppy is doing well. She's having some trouble controlling her puppy teeth at times, but I guess that goes with it!

slo - I hope you have stuff to do at work so you won't be bored! How long until you are done with real estate school?
I would love it if we had a pool! The kids would probably never get out!

Good Wednesday morning!!! :surfweb:

Idroveallnight -

How did the sleepover go? Did anyone get some sleep?

I hope James has a good ballgame today!!

I'm glad the puppy is doing well :dogdance: . That's to bad that she's a chewer - I used to like those nylabones that are flavored :thumbsup2 How is the potty training going?

How long until you are done with real estate school?
The middle of August. There's so much to learn in so little time - it's kinda freaking me out  :faint: But, I'm sure I will do okay :thumbsup2 There's another DISer that I know that is a real estate broker and she said that most of this info is like Trig in highschool - you need to know it, but you rarely use it.

Well, I gotta run and get Stephanie up for school - have a good day!!!

slo - Glad your weekend went well! I've been curious...Is the train car an actual train or is it a hotel made to look like a train?? I don't think I could make it through the weekend with it being so small! We're used to be a little crowded in hotels since there are 5 (used to be 6) of us...but I think the train car may have been a little too small for all of us. :teeth:

Enjoy your time working only two days a week. I have been working five or six days a week and I really miss when I was only doing one or two during the school year!! My house misses me too! ;) It's a mess!

Idroveallnight - How was the sleepover and the ballgame?? My boys have never asked to have a sleepover...I can't imagine a houseful of boys! Of course, they have their own sleepovers all the time since there are three of them! :rotfl: Maybe that's why they don't asked for others to come over, there are enough of them here already!

Andrew has a dentist appointment today so I better get moving! (Oh, by the way, I think the website incident is finally over. I dealt with the assistant superintendent Monday and it is finally off the internet!!) See you guys soon!

Good Thursday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

Yawn I am so tired
1.gif
. I've been staying up late studying every night, and I think it's catching up with me. My first test is Thursday (a week from today) and I am getting really nervous :worried: . It is over the first 10 chapters, and there is so much information in those chapters. I'm just glad that the test is before 4th of July so I don't have to worry about it and I can enjoy the holiday.

I see the mods have rearranged the smilies again  . I wish they would make up their minds so I can figure out where everything is. This is a good change though, because I didn't like yesterday's arrangement at all :sad2:

eeyoresmountainpals -
I've been curious...Is the train car an actual train or is it a hotel made to look like a train??
It's an actual old, historic train car
5.gif
. The hotel is in Union Station which is a Indiana historic landmark. I took photos inside and outside of the train car and when I get them into my photobucket I am going to post them for you guys to see.

It was very very tight inside. This type of room is good for 2 or 3 people, but not 4 or more :sad2: We will never do this again, we were very uncomfortable.
Enjoy your time working only two days a week. I have been working five or six days a week and I really miss when I was only doing one or two during the school year!!
Thanks, I am!!! The girls really like having me home too :teeth: Wow, you have been working alot. Where are you working again, I forget
(Oh, by the way, I think the website incident is finally over. I dealt with the assistant superintendent Monday and it is finally off the internet!!)
Thank goodness!!!! :woohoo: What did they have to say?

Idroveallnight - How was James's game yesterday?

Well, I'm off and running - have a good day everyone!!!

James' party went well - we had nine 8 - 10 year old boys! Very loud!! They did better than I thought! No fights! Jim (DH) and his friend Louis were just as bad as the little boys! :rotfl2: I had one boy who was a little disrespectful & one who had a really foul mouth (10 year old swearing at adult ball players at the game!), but other than that it went well! We went to see the Baybears (our minor league team) play. The boys got 8 homerun/foul balls! After we got everyone home, they kids on the team had a scrimmage game. I think they were pretty tired! James' bday is Sunday, so he will get his gifts from his sisters and we may cook out, but I think he is very happy with his bday celebrations!

slo - hang in there & try not to stress! I just know you will do great on your test!!

eeyore - I just have to say hats off to you & all moms who have boys!! They are sweet, but LOUD!! They interact so differently than girls!

:beach: We are going to the beach over the Fourth weekend. The doctor I work with is letting us use his condo! It should be fun! It's only about a 45 minute drive so if we have to come back for an Allstar game we can. I will just buy groceries & cook at the condo. we may go out for one special meal at Lulu's. Emily has always wnated to eat there. It is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister - I think she secretly hopes he will be there! All of my kids like Jimmy Buffet!

Have a great day!

 this was me after the party!
