Hi Everyone, I am new to this thread.

I joined the dis at some point, but dont remember...lol

I am married to a volunteer ff. He has been doing it for 17 years. He has served as everything from lt to an asst chief. He took some time from being an officer to spend more time with the kids. He has recently started being more active again. Never quit, just wasnt as active. I am a sahm to 2.

I hope that I am not intruding on a private discussion. I would like to get to know everyone on here. It was so nice to stumble onto a thread filled with other wives and family members who deal with similiar things.

Hi! And welcome!

Our living room is configured in such a stupid way.

One wall is broken up by the entry; one by the fireplace; and one by a wall of windows. We had one wall where we could put the entertainment center that I've owned for about ten years. The rest of our furniture had to be centered in the middle of the room.

That left us enough space for a couch and a chair. When we had friends over, there was never enough seating space.

We realized that if we lost the entertainment center - hence, the big screen is now gone - we could put the couch on that wall and add two more chairs -hence the need to put a plasma (actually we got an LCD - to me, they're all the same!) over the fireplace.

I actually don't like the look of a flat screen, but I plan to foo-foo it up with some wrought iron over the top of it. Hey... I'm a girl, what can I say.

Aren't you sorry you asked now???

BTW, I still have DD16's furniture to unload! Take a drive and I'll give you a "gas money" break! :rotfl:
Your family room sounds a little like ours - it's so hard to work with!

Thanks for the gas money offer but I don't think any of my boys would be satisfied with a girls bedroom set! :lmao:

Sounds like you're on the mend though! I still have what I like to call "elastic snot". :scared:

:lmao: :lmao:

Welcome firemanslady09!!

slo - Wii is the new game system from Nintendo. It is very cool! Very interactive!
Jim has the stomach virus now. He is just pitiful! People should stay away from our house!!!

We are looking forward to the GMAC Bowl this Sunday. They do a really neat Kids Zone before the game. So, I take the kids and Jim, my dad and a whole bunch of other guys tailgate. Look for us on ESPN! I'll be the crazy lady with all the kids! :crazy2: (I let the kids bring friends!) It will be fun, though. We also have the Senior Bowl coming up at the end of the month. We are a very football kinda place.
They have a Mardi Gras parade for the GMAC Bowl. It's nice to get an early taste of Mardi Gras!

I think we may be planning a quick trip to the World over the Mardi Gras break! Me. Mom and the kids are jonesing for Disney! We need a fix!

Well, I am off to work! Have a great day everyone!!

slo - I can't believe it's almost time for you to go!!!!! I am so excited for you! I would love to do adults only during the Food & Wine Festival! Are you looking forward to the change in weather?

My DBF is a VFF too. It takes a special kind of person to support those who protect us.

This time on Friday I will be leaving for WDW:cool1:
I finally put about 3 things in the suitcase last night - I"m going to finish my packing today:thumbsup2

My review of Night at the Museum:
I LOVED IT!!!!!!
I give it 2 hugs thumbs up :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
I thought the movie was lots of fun, and it made me laugh outloud:happytv:
If you like the movie Jumanji, you will love this movie ::yes::

I don't think I've heard a bad review yet! I can't wait to see it. We have an 80% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow; sounds like a good movie day to me!

Am_I_There_Yet - I'm so sorry your DD is getting sick:sick: Sending loads of PD to her right away :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: What is she studying in school? If you already said, I can't remember - I just remember when she left for school.

I personally think she's getting what I had, so she should be on the mend in about three more days. Thanks for the PD!

She's majoring in elementary education, but thinks she's going to go straight to grad school to get her masters, so that she can counsel. I'm very, very proud of her. She came thisclose to making Dean's list this past semester!

She's turning into such a beautiful person, inside and out!

Well, I gotta run - Katie (my 3 year old) and I have a lot of errands to do today.
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Hope you - and everyone else on here - has a wonderful day! :grouphug:

Jim has the stomach virus now. He is just pitiful! People should stay away from our house!!!

I'm starting to think it's the DIS. Everyone is either sick, recovering, or tending to a sick family member!

Hope he recovers soon!

Sounds like fun to me!

If I can actually get John out of procrastination mode, maybe I can actually try to watch out for you in High Definitition!

Happy Thursday everyone. One more day of work for me and then I'm off tomorrow and Saturday! :cool1: I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow with a neurologist to try to find out why my toes are numb. They've been that way for about fifteen months now so I guess it's about time to try to figure out why.

And Saturday has been designated as undecorate the house day! :lmao: I still have all of my Christmas stuff up and can't wait to take it down!!

Have a nice day everyone.

This is my last full post until Tuesday
I will stop by tomorrow morning for a very very quick goodbye :wave2:

Today I have to work all day. Then afterwards, I have to meet Kevin at the body shop to drop off my van to have the bumper replaced while we are gone. Then we are going out to dinner so I can go home and get myself and the girls ready for bed. We are leaving early tomorrow morning, and I need my beauty rest:rolleyes: (But we aren't leaving as early as Nicole)

Poor Stephanie started crying yesterday about us leaving:sad1: Katie, on the other hand, is like this about us leaving:woohoo: She is so excited to stay with the Grandmas.

Karen - I'm so sorry about Jim being sick:sick: Sending loads of PD your way for him to get better before Sunday:wizard: Speaking of Sunday, have a good time :cool1:
**I am looking forward to the change in temperature ::yes:: It will be a nice change.

ScorpioJeni - :welcome:
Welcome to our thread!!! Please come by often, we would love to get to know you!!!! :)

AmIThereYet - How is your DD feeling? I'll send some more PD to her:wizard:

Kathy - Good luck at the neurologist tomorrow:wizard: I hope you neurologist is as nice as mine. Let us know how everything goes.

Well, I"m off to get ready for work.
Have a good day today

Well, the kids are back to school today!
We need to get our decorations down, too. Hopefully Jim will feel better today so we can get all the outside stuff down!

Have a great day today!!

Fifteen months??????

I would never procrastinate like that! Remind me to tell you why later. I don't have the time right now... :rotfl2:

Coming from the Procrastination Queen herself, this is about how long I wait before I have something checked out too! I'm usually horrible about going to the doctor.

I hop you get a good diagnosis and your piggies are back in action soon!

Poor Stephanie started crying yesterday about us leaving:sad1: Katie, on the other hand, is like this about us leaving:woohoo: She is so excited to stay with the Grandmas.

I think our next trip will be a solo one too.

Stephanie will be okay; it's probably more of an emotional issue of you leaving, than of her being left behind. She'll feed off of Katie I bet, and be fine.

You two have fun! :woohoo:

AmIThereYet - How is your DD feeling? I'll send some more PD to her:wizard:

She's okay. But she gave it to her BF! My legacy lives on... :lmao:

It's a little after 5am, and I wanted to stop by and say good-bye!! :wave2:

I'll see you all again on Tuesday
Have a good weekend everybody!!!!
