Boy, my house looks so nice with the upstairs tree up. I also put the girls trees in each of their rooms. Stephanie has my Grandma's tree (a table top fiber optic tree) and I bought Katie a small table top tree and Kevin put regular lights on it. Each of the girls picked out their own garland and ornaments for their trees - they look nice. :goodvibes

It was sad putting up my Grandma's tree though, because I normally see it at her house. Yesterday we also visited her grave and took two balloons for Thanksgiving, and Stephanie took a special picture she colored. They had stakes in the ground by each grave for winter so I put the picture through the stake. I told Stephanie that next time I'll take a staple gun and staple her next picture to the stake. This Thanksgiving will be hard for this family with her not being here - it just not right that I'm going to be making her sweet potatoes. :guilty:

I"m not sure yet what's going on today - getting ready for Thanksgiving I guess. I do know that Kevin is making breakfast, so that's nice :goodvibes

Kathy - I'm so sorry to hear about your friends son :guilty: I will keep him and the other boy in my prayers for a quick recovery. How are they doing today? Please keep us posted on their condition.

Well, I gotta run - have a good Sunday everyone!!!

Good evening everyone. Hope you've all enjoyed a nice Sunday. I had to work today and we were really busy - which made the day go by a lot faster!

slo - Thanks for asking about the two boys. I talked to the mom of one of them last night and he's doing very well. She knows how lucky they were!

On a sad note, though, a girl that DD went to school with passed away this afternoon from a blood clot. She was only 19! I cannot even imagine what her parents are going through. She was an only child and such a sweet girl. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers!

Your house sounds so beautiful slo! And you are just so organized. Wish I could be more like you!!!

Hello everyone!

eeyore - I hope everyone is doing well now! I will keep that family in my prayers!

slo - you sound so festive! I bought a couple of new things for my yard today. We will decorate the tree while Sarah is home! I hope I can convince Jim to put the lights up outside then!

James' team won the championship game yesterday. We are all very excited! He is going to play on an Allstar team in a Thanksgiving tournament! It will be really fun for him. He will get to play with all different kids, maybe a different position.

Have a great week!!!!!

This is the only day I have to work this week!! :cheer2: That's a good feeling!!! :Pinkbounc But even though this is the only day I have to work - the week is still jammed packed with stuff to do. But that's okay - I don't mind being busy :teeth:

eeyoresmountainpals - I'm glad the boys are doing well :) , but how sad about the girl :guilty: I will absolutly keep her parents in my prayers.

Idroveallnight - CONGRATULATIONS JAMES!!!!

That's awesome about his team winning!!!! :cheer2:
Good luck to him on Thanksgiving!!!! :cool1:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day today!!!

Happy Monday everyone!

The kids are on a one hour delay today because of snow! It's still snowing, too!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Monday!
Thanks for the congrats for James! Of course with the end of the season, comes the end of cheerleading at the park. I have decided to take a break for a while. I will still coach my Saturday squad next year. I don't plan on being director or working with the conference as much. I need a break!! My family needs a break too!

A snow delay? Cool! Of course, by the time you find out about it, everyone is probably already awake! I don't think we will have any of those this year! If we get any snow here they just close the schools down!

I have to work three days, but I am off Thursday & friday. I am happy with that!!
My mom and dad arrived home safely last night! I am glad they are back!

Today is going to be a very busy day.
This morning I am helping out at Stephanie's school. The PTO puts on this huge Thanksgiving feast every year for the kids. I was unable to help last year, but I can this year. Stephanie is so excited about me being there.
Then I have to finish my Thanksgiving grocery shopping after that.
Then I have to have Stephanie do all her homework because she has CCD.
Then after I bring Stephanie home from CCD I have my last training class.
Busy, busy, busy - but that's okay - I don't mind :)

eeyoresmountainpals - My kids would be so excited if we got a lot of snow right now :Pinkbounc This reminds me - I need to go buy Steph a pair of boots

Idroveallnight - Its good you're taking a break for awhile. You need a chance to relax.
*I'm glad your folks got home safe and sound. Tell your mom I said, "Happy Thanksgiving!!!" :)

Well, I gotta run - have a good day today!!!

Whew, what a day. I started at 8:30, worked until 5:45 and only sat down once for about 10 minutes to eat half a sandwich! We were so busy - and I know tomorrow will be worse. I've lifted and bagged so many turkeys it's not funny! And tomorrow will be all the last minute shoppers - oh I hate those kinds - which reminds me, I need to do my grocery shopping after work tomorrow! :lmao:

Idroveallnight - Sounds like you really do need a break. I know I always take on stuff but then starts to burn out, even if it's something I really love. We can only stretch so far!

Glad to hear your mom and dad returned safely.

In our house no one but me is usually up when they call school delays - or call it off altogether. They make decisions by 6:15 a.m. and my boys usually sleep until 6:30. So if there is a delay I just let them sleep a little later.

slo - Sounds like you had a busy day all planned out today. Did you get everything done??

This is going to be a very busy day getting everything ready for tomorrow. I have so much to do, and I feel no time to do it in. I try not to stress out to much, but it's hard not to - I want everything to be just right.

Kathy - I bet you were tired - sounds like a very busy day!!!

I hear Katie up already - have a good day today!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVE EVERYONE! :teeth:

I'm off to work. I know we'll be slammed today!

slo - At least you've got all day today to start getting ready for tomorrow. I won't get home from work until at least 6, probably later since I still have some last minute grocery shopping to do after work. And I've still got some cleaning to do before I start the enjoyable part, which for me is the cooking. I love cooking the big meal and getting the table ready.

And DH is home sick today and A.J. is also sick. My throat feels scratchy but I just pray I don't get sick until after tomorrow!!!!

Have a great day all!

HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!!!!

I'm up so early this morning.
Last night, at about 9pm, I looked at my frozen pumpkin pie and it said that I needed to bake it for 70-80 minutes  I bought a frozen pie this year so I wouldn't have to bake it. So, that will be going in the oven by 6:30am, so it can be out by the time the bird needs to go in.

Kathy - I'm so sorry that your DH and A.J. is sick :guilty: Sending lots of PD your way for them to feel better soon :wizard: and for you to not get sick at all :wizard:
**Good luck with your big meal today - I'm sure everything will be delicious :goodvibes Wish me luck on making my sweet potatoes - I'm really stressing out about it. I'm hoping my Grandma will speak to me somehow to guide me how to make these things  I guess if they turn out terrible, no one has to eat them.

Well, I gotta run and put my pie in the oven.
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving today. You ladies are so special to me - I sure hope we get to meet in person someday. I'm so thankful to have met you - we have been there for each other during many good and bad times :grouphug:

Happy Thanksgiving, and God Bless

Well......we have another successful holiday behind us :cheer2:

Everything yesterday went great and my sweet potatoes turned out wonderful :Pinkbounc They weren't my Grandma's, but like Kevin said, I'll never be able to reproduce my Grandma's sweet potatoes perfectly.

We had some time to spare last night, so we up put our new tree (just the tree) up yesterday - it is beautiful!!!!! :cloud9: I was so unsure about getting white or colored lights, because we always had white lights. I decided on the colored lights, and I am very pleased with my decision. Now today I get to decorate it!!!!! :teeth:

This morning is the girls annual Christmas picture morning. Our appointment is at 10am, but we need to leave her by 9am to make sure we not only get there in time, but so I also have to time to do some last minute primping on the girls before the pictures are taken. I have everything layed out for easy getting ready this morning - dresses, tights, shoes, fake hair, crystal tiarras (sp?). This is always a stressful morning for me because I want to make sure everything is just right. :thumbsup2

Yesterday was successful. We are officially decorated for Christmas :Pinkbounc Our house looks wonderful!!!! I still need to get some last minute items, but for the most part, it is 95% done :teeth:

Happy Saturday Morning Everyone!

slo - I bet your house looks absolutely beautiful, probably could be featured in Better Homes and Gardens! I'd love to see pics of some of your decorating. (Maybe I could get some ideas :teeth: I am definitely "decorating challenged! :lmao: )

Today we go to get our tree. We go to a tree farm nearby and get to take a hayride to the top of the moutain to pick out our tree. Then they'll cut it for us and load it on the wagon to take back down. It should be a fun morning, if there aren't too many tourists there.

Idroveallnight - How did James' team do in the Thanksgiving tournament?? I hope you had a nice visit with Sarah!

Hope everyone has a nice day today!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We certainly did! We all got together at my sister Peggy's house.
The team James played for in the Turkey Bowl got eliminated Friday. It was really OK! He had fun and played well. I think it's just hard to throw together a bunch of kids for 3 practices and then have them play teams who have been together all season. I enjoyed getting to watch the games. I didn't have any cheerleaders to coach so I was able to focus on the games.
Emily really wanted to go out on Friday morning so she and I and Sarah were at Kohl's at 4:45 am. We went to a couple of other stores and were back home by 7:30. We weren't really after anything to fight over. I think she just really wanted to go!
I am having a nice visit with Sarah. She is spending alot of time with her friends. She goes back tomorrow, but will be home again around December 14. She will be home until January 9. Woohoo!!!!
We did our decorating yesterday. Sarah really wanted to participate before she went back to school.
You can tell I'm home alone by how long my post is, huh? Jim is at the station, Sarah is at a friend's and my mom has James & Emily at her house. I am nursing my cold  and enjoying my tree! Mom nad I are going to meet tomorrow and see Happy Feet with the kids.

slo - please post some pics of your decorations! How did your Christmas pics go?

eeyore - I hope everyone at your house is feeling better!

idroveallnight - so happy to hear that you're enjoying your visit with Sarah. I knew you would! Heather was home for the day on Thanksgiving and stayed over and left Friday morning. Her new BF made it up here at 8:30 Thursday night. He had to work and couldn't make it up for dinner but when he got here he we put all the food back out and he got his plate fixed...and then everyone else decided to have another plateful! :rotfl: He knew he wouldn't be able to make it for the regular dinner but he told Heather that he still wanted to make an effort to get up here to see her family which I thought was very sweet. He stayed over (Andrew gave up his room) and he was gone before I even got up because he had to be back to work in Charlotte by 10.

Sorry James' team didn't win but you are so right...it's hard to be a team that has already been playing together as a team. That's why Matthew's soccer team was undefeated this year. Most of the boys had played on a team with each other for the past three years and they already knew what to expect from each other.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday. I have to work 1-7 today (weird hours for me)!

Here are some pics from our day at the Christmas Tree Farm yesterday:

Here are Matthew and A.J. trying to find the perfect tree

Here's Andrew trying to get out of the shot

Trees, trees, everywhere!

Finally, the perfect tree!

And one last pic of them cutting our tree down for us. (No, that is not DH!)

I was able to sleep in until 8:30am this morning :Pinkbounc - I can't even tell you the last time I did that. The girls are at my MIL's because we went to a party last night - and it is so quiet in this house :cloud9: . I'm not sure when they will be home, but I'm sure it will be later this morning.

Karen - I"m sorry to hear your aren't feeling well :guilty: Sending lots of PD your way for your cold to feel better soon. :wizard: :wizard:
*I'm sorry James team didn't win :guilty: But at least you got to watch and enjoy yourself at the game.
*I'm glad you had a wonderful holiday with Sarah home :cloud9: Before you know it, she'll be home on Christmas break :cheer2:
*The Christmas pictures went well :woohoo: The girls looked beautiful and we got some great shots.

Kathy - Heather's new boyfriend sounds like a great guy :thumbsup2 How nice that he came up to see you all :goodvibes
*Great pictures of picking out your Christmas tree :) I went my friend a couple of times to get her real tree, and it was a lot of fun. We don't get a tree because Kevin is allergic and would have an asmatic allergic reaction :guilty: . So, it will fake for us forever ;)

I will take a couple pictures of the house sometimes soon and show you guys - thanks for asking :teeth: I still have a couple of final touches that I need to add (and still to buy).

Well, I gotta run and make myself some breakfast - I'm starving!!!!

Have a good day today!!!!

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!

slo - It was so nice that you got a day to sleep in! Bet you missed the girls and the regular morning routine, though.

I have to work today. I'm getting much more used to working so many hours. Plus we got the house pretty well cleaned last week (before the tree went up) so I don't feel so bad about coming home to a dirty house!!!

Hope you all have a great day!
