I know what you mean about the laundry wtih the party on Saturday (getting ready for it before) and going to camp this weekend I was overflowing with laundry. YIKES!!! finally got it done though.

Did anybody's husbands go to FDIC in Indianapolis this past weekend??? My DH goes every year and absolutly enjoys going.
My DH doesn't go(too far)..but 2 guys in his company give seminars there every year..and another guy in his company sings the Nat'l anthem at Baltimore every year for that convention.

My dad has been a volunteer firefighter in the town he lives in now for about 15 years, I believe. When I was little he was also a fireman. Back then they didn't wear pagers. When there was a fire, our phone would just phone one continuous ring until he picked it up.

When my husband and I were first married we lived in a wonderful small town of about 8000 people. The fire department there was wonderful. They had paid guys, and the town supported the fire department and realized what an asset it was. DH was a fire fighter then, and I've never been so proud of him in all of my life. He took classes, and wanted to learn as much as they had to offer. He drove ambulance, and he loved it. When we moved the fire department in our new town was nothing compared to the old. He tried to belong, but just couldn't adapt to their way of doing things. When we get settled down (we have one move left), I hope it's in a small town. I hope he finds the time to be a fireman. If not, you can guarantee that we will support our local fire department.

SO Dh is going with me to Disney for the 1st tiem ever . He has not been since he was around 13 with his folks ( he is 27 so that is not that long agoLOL)

We are going when he has his Kelly day so we will be gone for 4 nights 5 days. THAT is not that much time to do everything we want to do ! He now has told me he wants to visit the Reedy Creek Fire dept .!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

He will be there forever , I know him . It will be a Disney day lost

That is so cool. I've never heard of that before....geez, our phone here would be ringing of the hook!!!! One of our chiefs here has a GONG that goes off when there is a call (in addition to all the pagers, etc) I've been on the phone with his wife a couple of times when it goes off. Boy is it LOUD!!!!

Mishell,

When you are going to Disney? I'm jealous. We probably won't be going again in Sept. 2005. (trying to do another Disney cruise). WE just got back in Feb. but I'm already having withdrawal.

So no story about Pepe Lepew??? The skunk, I mean!!
:D

DH will be putting the skunk in the room sometime this week :teeth: He just got off shift this morning so he has 2 days before he goes back .

We are going to WDW Sept 28- Oct 2nd .

I go every year sometimes 2 times ayear without him or the kids . They never want to go but this year he wants to go so he will . His folks wanna go also , they said they wanna go but they dont know what it costs yet LOL. So we will see

Good evening everyone!!

DH is off tonight playing softball. His team consists of other guys on the Dept and some of their friends. The name of their team is Scrubs because they are all EMT's. They play every Tuesday and they lose every Tuesday. I feel bad that they never win - but at least they are having fun.

I'm looking forward to when it gets warmer out so we can go watch them - that usually makes for a fun evening.

I'm currently waiting for him to come home to tell me how the game went, but of course it is taking him forever to get home. I curious on what the final score was - last week the game ended because of slaughter rule:eek: So, we will soon see what happened tonight.

That's funny. DH is out playing softball tonight too. But not for a regular league. He is filling in for someone. That is a great name for their team, Slo...SCRUBS!!! I love it.

Hey, you never know maybe they could win someday???

Thanks for the welcome back:wave: I have been on a little here and a little there, but not to much at one time because my DD has been sick. She is 8 months and had rotavirus and then gave it to the rest of us in the house. During this she has had a double ear infection for 3 months nonstop - so Friday she had tubes put into her ears.

She is much happier and so am I because she was glued to my hip all the time because she never wanted me to put her down. I couldn't even go to the bathroom without her screaming like I was the worst mother ever because I set her down - in the bathroom next to the toilet - for 2 min while I went to the bathroom.

With DH being a volunteer he is gone all the time and therefore I get no help with my 2 girls. Oh well.....hopefully everything will be better now that Kate is on the mend.

Yeah - it would be nice for them to win, they would probably all pass out if they did. They really are not all that bad, none of them are athletes to say the least, they just need to learn how to hit better. They are always hitting these pop-flies that are so easy for the other team to catch.

We have some young guys on the team now - so maybe they will show the other guys how it's done. Last year though, one of the young guys went to catch a fly ball and when he jumped to get it he cut his forehead open on the top of a chain link fence - OUCH!!!! I was there for that one. The umpire says, "Call an ambulance, call 911" and the guys said "We are 911!!!!" and my DH ran to his car and grabbed his EMT bag and did what they had to do and then drove him to the ER where he had to get stitched up. Scary then --- but funny now.

I know exactly what you mean. I felt the same way when my DD's were younger. They're 5 and 8 now and it is MUCH easier. Don't worry it does get better.

My DH used to be gone all the time with meetings, different FD organizations. I haven't told you guys this but he got hurt in 9/01 (it was actually 5 days after 9/11...that was not a good week for us for 2 reasons)....and had a skull fracture...(he was at a fire training school and was sitting of the back of a pickup truck and fell off while it was moving, Long story actually). He fractured his skull and orbital bones. He was in ICU for 3 days and out of work for 2 months. The only lasting effect he has is his loss of smell. (he was really lucky). Well, in any event, the reason for me telling you this is I guess this scared him a bunch and he realized that family is more important. He is still active in the FD but usually only does "his thing" when I'm working and the kids are sleeping, etc.

I think that is hysterical about the "we are 911"!!! PRobably wasn't funny at the time but it is now.

I was trying to use this as my avatar but it says that it is too big....thought it was kinda cool.

Gotta do some OT for work and then pick up DD at nursery school. (some of you guys must be getting done with school soon...ours doesn't end until June 24th). Then DD and I are going to make banana bread...(got some bananas that are ripe) and then both DD's to dentist and older DD has dance recital practice...whew...talk about a day!!! Talk to you gals later!!!

I also forgot to say that I'm glad that your DD and family are better, Slo. Rotavirus is not fun!!! Glad to see you're back.

okay...now I REALLY gotta go. Bye all!!! :wave2:

Good evening all!!

I just thought I would check in and say hello. I am only going to be on for a couple minutes because I just got both DD's to bed and I am heading to bed myself.

Remember how I was telling you how "Scrubs" loses all the time - well yesterdays final score was 38 to 8 with "Scrubs" being the 8.
The next game is next Tuesday - if they win I will have to let you all know because it will be a big deal:)

Well good night all - 5yr old DD claims she hears something outside and is afraid to go to sleep. Talk to you all later!!!
