Good Morning everyone!!!!!


Hope everyone has a great Thursday! This is my day off so I will be resting this morning to help in the healing process! DH has a yard business in addition to firefighting so he has a yard to do. After that I think we will go do a little shopping! I think I'll have him get our decorations down since I can't do heavy lifting. I am ready to decorate!! I know slo is all ready! How about everyone else? Is anyone done with their shopping?

Idroveallnight - How are you feeling? I sure hope you are recovering well with keeping so busy. Try not to over do it

We were very successful with our shopping yesterday and all our Santa shopping is officially over. I know have to take a log to see if we have equal presents for each girl. If I have an uneven amount, then I'll put some things away to put into their Easter baskets .

I don't have to much time to Dis today because I have to take Stephanie to a birthday party and then I have to do something with the inside of this house. Other people may not think it's messy, but to me it looks like a tornado went through it.

Hi everybody!! Well, James' team won today! We will be playing in the championship game next Saturday! I have to take a moment to brag! They are now 50 -0! Thie is his 4th season with this coach and 5th season overall. Not bad for an 8 year old! Wish us luck next week! I was also so proud of Emily! She did her back handsprings on the field today (normally only on the mat at the gym). All in all it was a great day!
We finished shopping for our Angel Tree children today and I managed to get a gift for my mom & grandmother - both hard to buy for!

That is great news about both of your children!!! Stephanie is just starting to learn how to do back-handsprings in her gymnastics class. Once she learns how to do that she's going to want be flipping all around the house

Good cold morning everyone!!! It's 7 degrees outside

Last night I went to take my white clothes out of the dryer to find that they had turned blue and the inside of my dryer was full of blue goo everywhere.

I said to myself, "what the heck!!!" and then I remembered BabyKate was standing by my dryer while I was putting the laundry into it from the washer and she was holding a blue crayon.

Kevin and I both agreeded that there is no way that we can get all this crayon out because it is everywhere!!! So we are either going to replace the dryer or call a service person to see how much it will cost for them to replace the drum. With the cost of this and the cost of replacing the laundry that is now blue, that is one expensive crayon!!!

We are laughing it off though because she didn't know better - it's something I can write in her baby book.

Well, I gotta go and get ready for work - have a good day!!!

Good morning everyone!!!

Yesterday after work Kevin met me at The Home Depot and we bought a new dryer. I called the repair people first and they told me that they would have to replace 5 items to fix my dryer and it would be in my best interest to just buy a new dryer. So that's what I did - the new dryer plus a 4yr added warranty was $608.33 That was one expensive crayon!!! Since I manage a picture frame store, I think I'm going to take Katie's favorite Dora the Explorer shirt that was destroyed in this load of laundry and take a picture of her in it and then frame the shirt, her picture and what was left of the blue crayon and hang it in my laundry room - wouldn't that be cute!?

Hi Everyone!

slo - So sorry about the crayon incident. You seem to be taking it all in stride though! We had a similar incident about five years ago when DD left a pen in a pair of pants. I wasn't quite as understanding as you are, though, because DD was 15 at the time and knew better! I never did get a new dryer and the inside of the drum of mine is stained but the stains serve as a reminder!

We have been staying very busy with holiday stuff. We have our tree up and all the lights up outside. I still have some finishing touches to take care of with the inside decorations. - Tonight is our fire department Christmas party. I need to go down to the FD after I drop A.J. off at school this morning and put some last minute touches on the decorations, decorate the tables and make up the gift bags for the kids. One other woman and I have done the planning. It will be catered this year, which will be nice. No cooking for us!!!!

Hey slo - I'm typing this in between "talking" on the "LAst to Post" thread and just hopped over there for a second and saw your post. Had to track me down, huh. Now you know where I spend a lot of my time. You need to stop over on that thread now and then. It's a really nice bunch! We chit-chat a lot.

Idroveallnight - Please pass along congratulations to James AND Emily for me! That is awesome! - How are you feeling? Are you getting along okay???

Now you know where I spend a lot of my time. You need to stop over on that thread now and then. It's a really nice bunch! We chit-chat a lot.

slo - I don't know if you went back onto the LTP thread after you popped on there to say hello but I wanted to let you know that after you posted another person welcomed you. That's the way they are over there, very similar to this thread.

That's why I usually only visit that thread and this thread any more. Nice people!!!

We had our fire department Christmas party last night and it was very nice. Santa paid a visit! There was lots and lots of food! We got everyone together for a nice picture to send to one of our guys serving in Iraq!

It's so good to see you Kathy!!

I did go back to "Last to Post" thread and saw that someone welcomed me - that was very sweet . Thank you for inviting me to stop by there and sometimes I may. I basically only post between the times of 6am-6:30am and I have 3 main posts that I post on and that basically takes up my 1/2 hour. If time permits , I'll have to stop by - I always love to meet new Disers!!!



I'm glad your FD X-Mas party was a success. Ours is this Friday, and I'm looking forward to seeing many of the wives that I only see a couple of times a year. When Kevin first started on the FD me and these wives were younger and we would be dancing the whole time (our party is in a hall w/ a DJ). Now that we are older we sit around like a bunch of hens talking about our kids, their schools, and our jobs while the wives of new members dance the night away - it's kinda funny!!

Well, I gotta run - have a good Wednesday and I'll talk to you all later!!

We don't do a FD Christmas party - I think we are just too big. The guys on Jim's shift all exchange gifts.

Good evening everyone.

I had a terrible day today. We had a corporate audit at work today. We failed miserably! I had to work over two hours. Came home so upset I was shaking. Anyway, don't want to go into it other than to say it was a terrible day at work. But as bad a day as it was at work...it will pass and life will go on.

When I got home I found out that they've found out that the tumor that was removed last week from a boy in DSs class was malignent. He has to go to a specialist tomorrow. He's only 13!!

Then I called "Nana" to see what they had found out about "Grandpa." Grandpa had a tumor in his brain removed last Wednesday and we've been waiting to hear the prognosis. Nana just got the news today...Grandpa has one of the most aggressive kinds of brain cancer there is. They think he'll have about 3 months, but probably not three good months. They're going to start radiation and chemo in the hopes of at least buying good days through the holidays. I haven't told DD or the boys.

Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers!

Idroveallnight - How was your shopping trip with your friend. Those are so fun. I think the memories that we make on shopping days like that are priceless! I'm going to see my DD at college next Wednesday to go Christmas shopping and I can't wait!

slo - I did see about the plane and I thought about you wondering if it was close to you. Scary!!!!

We are going to Gatlinburg for the weekend to see the Christmas lights. We're leaving today (as soon as the ice clears off) and will be back Sunday night. Can't wait!
