Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Hi everyone! Thank goodness for e-mail notifications! I have a tendency to forget about the thread and then get a notice & :yay:

I'm in the midst of losing my mind as our vacation is coming up so quickly now. We had 15 people going with us now it's down to 11 and I'm totally stressed out for it.

I have my fundraiser I have to get through on July 9 & then pretty much have to pack for Disney...although I might need to be packed for Disney pretty much beforehand. :lmao: I wasn't doing too bad watching the ticker until my older DS asked "how many more days until we leave" since we are leaving earlier to do a college visit & I counted. It's about 18 days...YIKES. I'm not ready.

Hi Becky
Have a great WDW trip!

Gotta go now and run to church this morning.

Rosemarie

Ah, we are up and running again. Haven't seen this thread in a long time. Hope everyone is having a fun summer and staying safe, healthy.

I've been busy watching my grandson, Liam who is 6 months old now. Gave up for now with trying to find a job. Too much stress and all going on. My husband, John who I may have mentioned, not sure has gone over the deep end with his illness. (bi polar)

He has chosen and moved in with his next victim (girlfriend) who is 67---- 13 yrs older then the two of us. He was living with a guy who we suspect was his "good friend" since I recently discovered my husband is bi sexual.

I filed for a divorce a few weeks ago. Under the impression since my husband is not fighting me much that it should be over with soon. At least I hope so. Who knows if he will start some kind of nonsense. Would not surprise me knowing him.

Youngest DD16 seems to be handling all this fairly well. She has been involved with our church's youth group and goes places with them. She just got back from Bible camp. She is so mature, loving and such a blessing.

Oldest DD has been working, was on light duty since she hurt herself. She has met some friends and gets out with them as often as possible. That leaves me with more babysitting duty which I admit sometimes gets tedious since I have no life except sitting at home watching my grandson. But I love him and do enjoy cuddling him and playing with him when he is in a good mood.

Recently lost our two oldest cats. Still too recent so won't elaborate, but have two new kittens who keep me busy along with Liam. 4 month old kitten is a long haired orange tabby that DD16 named Ariel. She is mostly DD's kitty. The other kitten I just found outside my door yesterday morning. She looks a little bit older then Ariel. It was storming just like today. She was cold, wet, frightened and I just could not leave her out there. She is so sweet. She "looks like" at least to me like a tiger, with stripes but her coloring is black and gray. I named her Nala.

Well now that I caught you all up on us ---- how are all of you doing??

Hi Everyone! :flower3: So glad to see us up and running again! Life has been pretty busy here. I work about 50hours a week at my full time job and 1 or 2 days a week at TDS. Also, I am officially a Disney Travel Agent for Mouseketrips. I just started that but I'm hoping that it takes off so I can maybe lose the full time job and just do TDS and the agent gig. Let's see what else, DH will be starting a new job on July 5. I think that is all that is really new around here. I'm glad to see everyone here is doing alright! I think of you guys often!

hello all youse chicagoland homies........!!:yay:

good to see some life here once again.
hope all is going good for youse.

you bet you will see me if you get down to the motherland...........

i checked some of the sites and did find low fares under $200 in the late sept/mid oct time period.

i think you said you could come on a saturday after the holiday.

i read on a travel site that saturdays are now as cheap as flying on a tue/wed.

i hope you can make it.

Hi Everyone! :flower3: I lost my full time job... :( Fortunately, my boss there said she really disagreed with the decision and she will give me a stellar reference! She also said she was so upset because she doesn't think she will be able to find anyone as reliable and good as me. Whatever. I'm upset with the whole situation but I'm more worried about $$$ seeing as DH just started a new job and had to take a pay cut to get it. :( I'm sure it will all work out. I just wanted to stop by here and post. I haven't been able to thoroughly play on the DIS since I started there. At least I still have TDS and Mouseketrips. If anybody knows someplace looking for a full time Admin or Customer Service position please let me know!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Oh I am so sorry this is happening to you. (Hugs)

Popping in to say hello.
DG so sorry to hear about your job loss. Hope you find something else again soon.
Stitch, hope that divorce goes through quickly and uneventfully for you.
Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July and got to enjoy time with their families.
Busy working here as usual. Glad the weather has finally gotten around to acting like summer.
Mac, good to hear from you again! Rose, Becky and Geffric, nice to hear from you all again as well.
We are getting geared up for the big trip to CA and a stop in Disneyland, of course!! Excited to be getting away from home for a bit. So glad we have a wonderful house/dog sitter that is willing to come live here for us while we are away. Though I begin to think our dog gets spoiled and isn't always so glad to have us return.
Well, better get to bed. Kids are having their birthday party here tomorrow-lots of friends and family coming. Still have some housecleaning to get done in the morning.

Thanks Tigg and Mac. I appreciate it. Everyone is being so supportive right now. An old friend just texted me that channel 2 news at 5 is supposed to be doing a segment on new jobs opening in the chicago area. I already set the dvr as I will be making dinner. Also, I have several people keeping their eyes peeled for openings. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone! :flower3: I lost my full time job... :(

:grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear this. My DH lost his job on Friday. It's tough. I didn't see your message about the news report until now but we don't have TV anyway. Maybe they will put it on their website.

We did have to cancel our college visit part of our upcoming trip but the GOOD news is the trip itself is paid for so I didn't have to cancel the entire vacation.

Hi guys!

disneygal & Becky - so sorry to read about the job loss. :sad2: Fingers crossed something comes up soon!

Becky - so glad you didn't have to cancel the whole trip. :thumbsup2

Just busy around here trying to keep up, trying to figure out how to slow down time as I want summer to last a long time. ;)

Hi all-
I'm hardly on the DISboards, but wanted to wish everyone here a
Merry Christmas!!

Rosemarie

Rose glad to hear from you..hope you and your family have a merry christmas.

Rose glad to hear from you..hope you and your family have a merry christmas.

Thanks! Hope you and your family are doing well, too!

We are doing fine! My husband still has a job. Chrissy and Matthew are freshman in high school. Chrissy is in a special-ed program in one of the schools in dist. 211, which fits her nicely!
Matthew is doing extremely well at our base high school, mostly making A's.
He is in band, marching band, pep band, freshman concert band and enjoying it! I will be chaperoning with him on his band trip in May. Not going to Disney unfortunately, but somewhere else for his band trip. So things are going well!
