Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Hi gang! Busy, busy week! DS took 4th in the Cross Country meet on Friday. Another meet today but we will see how he does. He is congested and has a runny nose. We told him just to do his best.

ID - Hope your dd feels better and other dd gets adjusted to 3rd grade!

DG - It is 12 pm Eastern time. Have fun!

Paint - Your ADRS looks great! We have done WCC 2x and had fun both times. We did Sci Fi a number of years ago. It was fun but I don't remember much about the food. Can't wait to hear your report on the others.

Enjoy this beautiful day!
Lori

Thanks Lori! :thumbsup2Up until 1am this morning I had assumed it was eastern time but then I just started second guessing myself.

Oh and congrats to DS on his cross country. That is quite impressive. I'm lucky I can run a block. LOL

I know how you feel. When I went to New Mexico last month I kept perserating on the time, time zone, what time it would be when I landed, how long was flight, etc...It was ridiculous!

Hi guys! Just a quick drive by today. Helped at picture day today, it was the 3yr preschool through 4th grade. The little ones were SO cute, we did get a bit behind because one of the 3yr olds got sick just before his turn. :scared: Thankfully it didn't start a chain reaction. 5th-8th grade pics are tomorrow. Tonight is open house at the girls school, they are excited!

disneygal - for airline online check in you can print your boarding passes at home and then you should be able to go right up and check your bags rather than waiting in line. What airline are you flying? We don't check bags so we go straight to security. For WDW there is a dedicated line at the front desk for online check in, they have your KTTW cards all done along with your registration packet. From reports I've read it can save time especially if you arrive on a full ME bus.

momto1 - congrats to your DS, best of luck to him today too.

slo - hope you survive your busy day!
*What makes the whole issue frustrating with DD8 is that she is bright and can easily do the work if she wasn't in such a hurry. She is also the complete opposite of DD12 who is so meticulous about everything!

:wave2: to everyone else - hope you're having a great day.

Well, I'm off to put the laundry and in the dryer and get homework started. We have open house tonight. Tomorrow DD12 has pictures, it is Hot Lunch at the girls school and I'm helping and DS has his open house tomorrow night. Nothing like craming it all in one week! ;) Have a great night all! :flower3:

Well today I got a call at 7:30 am asking me to run the kitchen at Meals on Wheels.. the lady who I help would not be there.. so I rushed in and worked until 2 pm straight.. whee i am tired but got home and ate a big bunch of M&Ms so now I am feeling better..;).

Still have lots of SHIP and other work to do for BSA.. but I am going to take a walk and clear my head before I start into all that.. and I offered to help in the kitchen tomorrow as they need to get out 2 meals to the home bound and get day care set for 2 days since the kitchen will be closed on Thursday..busy time the next 2 weeks before I leave for WDW.. and of course I have the high holidays starting Friday night with Rosh Hashana.. a trip to Cleveland for a baby shower, Yom Kippur and then... Meals on Wheel Tues, Thursday and Wednesday too , parents night at school, more meetings at BSA for marketing committee.. plus when I come back from a week at WDW, I leave right away for a college road trip with Eric and his friend to U of Indiana, Perdue, Ohio State and Miami of Ohio..

How did I ever work full time and do all this too..??

Well time for a walk to clear my head..

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I have a stupid question but i actually lost about an hour sleep over this last night. My flight info says, depart ohare 820am arrive MCO 12pm. Is that 12pm central time or Eastern time b/c if it's central time I'm not sure we will make our 530pm ADR after waiting for the ME and checking into ASmu. Speaking of checking in, has anybody done the online check in? I don't really get what it does. Same with online check in for the flight. we still need to go to the counter to get our KTW cards and still need to go to the counter to give the airline our bags. i just don't get it. is it something i should consider doing?

!

DG - you should arrive 12 pm ET in Orlando.. I love online checkin.. makes things so much faster.. when you so online checkin for the flight.. you just need to go to a seperate area and give them your bags and then on to the security.. really cuts down lines..

I added to my busy day by going to a Tupperware party, at my neighbors house, and didn't get home until 10pm :faint: I was tired when I came home :faint: and I'm still tired this morning. The party was fun though, and I wish I could have bought more stuff - I love Tupperware!!!! The only thing I got were cups with a lid that you put a straw through it. I have some already and I love them!!! Now I can get rid of some of my sippy cups - so that's nice:thumbsup2

DG - We do online check-in too:thumbsup2 Kevin even knows where to go in the parks to print our boarding passes - it works out great!!! Plus, for Southwest, the earlier you check in, is the earlier you get to board the plane, and we like being one of the first to board the plane :thumbsup2

momto1 - How did you son do yesterday? Congrats to him on his 4th place win :cheer2:

Leigh - :wave2:

ID - Stephanie isn't meticulous either:sad2: Stephanie and your DD get along really well :)

geffric - Wow, you got alot going on  I'm tired just reading it :faint:

Well, it's time to wake up the kiddos.
Have a good day!!!

Wow, slow day here today. Guess everyone is busy with school/kids/work. Hope all is well with everyone. Kids are at soccer, DH is still at work (they had a virus attack the computers/phone system so who knows when he will arrive. So I am enjoying some peace.
Toy Story Mania for Wii has given me the disease of Wii Sore Arm. I am sure that will be a new medically approved diagnosis soon!! Having fun with it. Not just like the ride, but a few games are the same. It will keep me out of the taverns and off the streets for a while.::yes::
Later all. Have a great week. Happy Humpday!!

:surfweb:

I am now selling AVON.
I really don't need something else on my plate, but I figured, what the heck :teeth:
If anyone wants a catalog, please let me know, and I'll send one to you :thumbsup2

TTTTiiiigggggggernnnnnnnnn - I need to get that game for the girls for X-Mas:santa: Do you think they will like it? Is it worth the money? Some games look so fun, and then I here from others that they are bad.

To everyone else - :wave2:

Have a good day!!!

Morning! I am so excited for tv tonight. Season premire of The Office! I am also looking forward to the new show, Community. Then, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I just have to get through school today. I had major insomnia last night. Ugh.
Slo- Do you know anything about their products? I think it is the Renew line I see on commercials. I need something to help out these wrinkles! Also, I need to get some cups with lids and straws. I don't let the kids have drinks other than water when eating at the table. Our kitchen only has a bfast bar, so dinner is in the dining room, over carpet.
Tig-I am sure I won't wait until Xmas for TSM, maybe just a sale.
gef- sounds like some busy days coming up. GL!
ID- TG for moms that help out at pics! Hopefully, you caught all the sticking up hair and what not!
momto- My parents haven't called the painter yet but are going to. Thanks again.
DGal- Thanks for the offer on info. When is your trip?
Time to get moving! Have a nice day!

Morning guys! Finally, a day at home to catch up on all that hasn't been done for the past few days. Picture day for DD12 and hot lunch yesterday went well, long day though. Had DSs Curriculum Night at school, such a different experience from the girls school. At their Open House EVERYONE goes, for DSs class only 3 of the 12 kids parents were there. :confused3 DD12 babysat while we were there and she had the younger kids in bed when we got home at 8:20. :thumbsup2

Today is catch up on laundry and cleaning. DD8 has dance and DD12 has bball this evening.

paint - hope you make it through your day, it stinks not being able to sleep.
*Enjoy your TV premier night!

slo - good luck with the Avon!
*check your PMs, sending you one!

Tiggerrn - hope DH made it home last night and that all is well with the virus!
*Would love to hear more about TSM for Wii. Want to get it for the kids but read only so-so reviews on the budget board.

:wave2: to everyone else! Hope you're enjoying this sunny weather (I love it :lovestruc).

Have a great day all! Time to change the :laundy:. Got some spotty bananas for $.19/lb at the store so I'm also making more of those muffins. :cloud9:

Morning all! Okay, for the TSM Wii review. It is fun, but it is not a "have to have it for $50" kind of game. Several of the games are the same as the ones from the ride. Pop the Balloons (with Bo Peep), Break the Plates (with the Army Men), Ring the Aliens (with Buzz), and Shooting Arcade (with Woody). Then there are several new games. They are fun to play, but I haven't figured out the need to trade in the points/tickets you win for stickers and pages (to a sticker book, I guess) or if that opens any new games. I have already won enough points to open all the games to play. Also, they have 3D games and give you 2 pair of the paper 3D glasses to use to play the games. I have not found the glasses to make it really appear 3D very well. Only a couple of times did I really notice it look as if balloons were floating off the screen. So all said, it is not worth $50, but (as I sit here with my very sore arm/shoulder from playing it for hours yesterday) I have had some fun with it-more of a "I have to get all the games open to play" sort of obsession.
There you have it-the full review.
Hope you all have a great day here. It is wonderfully sunny and bright. I have a staff meeting to go to this afternoon that I'd really rather skip :rolleyes1so I guess I had better get in the shower. Kids have an early release day. Need to :laundy:and vacuum before they get out.
Later

Hi gang! Just a quick check in today.

DS took 12th at the meet on Tuesday. I wasn't able to make it but dh said he was dying since he couldn't breathe due to his cold. He went home and crashed until morning. He is feeling much better and is ready to run today. Fingers crossed...

slo - Good luck selling Avon. I love tupperware, too, but haven't bought in a really long time.

Tiggern - Thanks for the wii review. I might look for that for ds if I can get it on sale. He loves the Toy Story ride!

ID - good luck to your dd on her ball game tonight. I love watching ball in the fall!

I am going to get packing this weekend since I have a busy week at work next week.

Lori

Hi all!!!

Yesterday was DH and my 14th anniversary! Married in 1995, a couple since 1989. We've been together more than 1/2 my life!!!!!!!!!!!:upsidedow Makes me feel old when I think about it that way!
Didn't do much yesterday in celebrating since he spent a good chunk of the night at this dad's house....and the 'sister' was in town too. :headache: The drama continues.

slo Did those Avon commercials get you interested in selling?

paint Primetime tv doesn't start until 8pm here! UGH! So staying up late to watch tv is difficult. Thank goodness for DVR!! Hope you don't tire out before you get to see all your shows! :thumbsup2

momto1 Hope your son is doing better.

Tiggerrn So you admit to playing for HOURS!!!!! :rolleyes1 I'm sure the kids and hubby would be interested in hearing that!!! :rotfl: ;);) I won't openly admit to how long I play Animal Crossing....but I am looking for a way to delete the little daily note that tells you how long each game was played!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Hi to all!!!!

Time to get Hunter from school, then rush home & get him a snack, then drive into the 'pit of despair' to get DH and then home to cook dinner, homework, studying and more laundry!!!! YAY!!!

Congrats on the Avon, slo. Sometimes I order online and they ask for my rep's number or name or something, I forget because I don't have a rep so I leave it blank. Is there something we can plug in to get you the sale credit?

 All!!

WooHoo - it's Friday!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Today will be sortof hectic, because I need to get Stephanie packed - her and Kevin are leaving for Florida tomorrow morning. So, no sleeping in tomorrow, we need to leave here at 6:15am. I'll be fine with that, but Katie will be a nightmare - oh well. She'll get better during the day, because she is very very excited about Stephanie and Kevin leaving. She wants me all to herself:goodvibes We are going to rent movies, and she's going to sleep with me every night (that part I'm not looking forward too:sad2:), she's very excited!!!!!:yay:

paint - If you want me to order those cups for you, you can send me a check when it's time - my neighbors party is Oct 30th, and I paid $34.?? If you would like to do this, please let me know.:)
**I don't know much about their products - I need to learn. They may have information on their website www.avon.com

ID - That was nice your DD had the kids in bed - I would be giving that a :thumbsup2 too.
**Thanks for the good luck!!! :goodvibes

TTTTTTiiiiiiggernnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn - Thanks for the review :) It's to bad the game is so expensive. Stephanie saw a commercial for it last night, and got very excited. I told her to ask for it for Christmas :santa:

momto1 - Thanks for the good luck:goodvibes
**I'm sorry your DS didn't feel well after his meet. I hope he feels better today:wizard:

mac - :wave2:

Bunchkin - Happy Anniversary!!!! :goodvibes You and Tony are the exact same as Kevin and I (I think we may have talked about that). We started dating in 1988, and got married in 1995. :)
**I bought AVON before, and I've been toying around with selling somthing from home for over a year. I decided on AVON because I don't have to do home parties, unless I want too. I just don't have time to home parties - it would be to much with the store. I'm hoping this works out well for me.

Kim - Thank you for asking:) I will look into this, and let you know - thanks again!!!!:goodvibes

Well, it's that time for me to sign off, and go into the lions den (Katie's room) She roars at me like a big crabby lion when I wake her up, especially now that it's colder in the house, because she's all cozy in her bed.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

We're off to Disneyland again for the weekend. Leaving later this afternoon. Tomorrow is DH's birthday.
Need to pack, wrap his presents and pack them up too.

Laundry - done. Car wash and detailed - done. Can't wait to get out of town! :goodvibes

slo I could see how having house parties wouldn't fit with your schedule at all. Avon is a good choice.
Hope Kevin and Steph have a great time!!! Put a speed bump between you and Katie!!

Have a great weekend all!! I'm bringing the camera with so hopefully next week I'll have pics to share.

Hey, all...

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to post, but I try to read and keep up as much as I can.

BUNCHKIN...happy anniversary, and happy birthday to DH! Enjoy Disneyland!

SLO...I hope you and Katie have a great time sharing one another...and Kevin and Stephanie have a good visit, too.

MAC...Brian has gotten settled in up in Lake Geneva, and yes, it is a bit of a distance to go to Kenosha, but they really like the place in LG, biggest advantage is they can have their dog with them!

Mark & I are planning to go to Reno next week to visit Christopher. I have never seen where Christopher lives or been to Reno, so I am excited, but scared to death, because I have a horrible, terrible fear of flying. I have not been on a plane for over 10 years...so, please hold a good thought for me that I will actually board the plane (Christopher bought us the airplane tickets, so he really does want us to visit!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
