Hey everyone! I can't sleep so I am surfing the DIS as usual. I am living in Chicago and I'm almost done with college!!! I'm having problems with my apartment/roommate (I went to high school with her but we aren't friends) and I am trying to move out. Does anyone know someone who is looking to sublet an apartment downtown until December? Let me know! I need someone to take my place so I can get the heck out of here!!! OK enough of my sales pitch...

It's cool to see how many Disney lovers are here in Chicago! I was just in the Disney store on Michigan Ave yesterday and it made me excited for my next trip!

WOW are we having a great weather weekend or what? I love these sunny days. I wish I could bottle it for when the clouds overtake our area.

Morning guys! I too am loving this weather!! Have been to church already too, DD12 served the 7a mass. We are NOT morning people, thankfully she never complains when she has to be up early for mass.

Have a parent meeting this afternoon for DD8s dance team. Should be interesting. Then DD12 has basketball practice 6-8p. I'm sure they'll finish on time as I'm sure the coach wants to see at least some of the Bears game.

*I too wish we could bottle this sunshine, it would sure come in handy around Jan/Feb.

AlohaPrincess - welcome to our thread! Sorry you're having roommate issues, I hope you can find someone to sublet.

Kim - I was just thinking this morning that we hadn't "heard" from you in a while. I too am a late night person, not so much a morning person.

mac - so glad you found those tix, I would have had a panic attack too! I'm always so paranoid with that stuff.

Tiggerrn - wow, that fest sounds great. Wish our town did something like that!
*I know what you mean about the kid parties, DD8 was invited to 3 parties in August. It seemed like we were shopping every other day.
**Ugh, TSM for Wii comes out this week?! I was hoping to hold out and get it for Christmas but that would be awfully long to wait.

slo - hope Stephanie has had great soccer games! You had a great day yesterday for it!

paint - hope you had fun at the Cubs game, what a nice day to go to a game!

Hersey you are right.. it is a bar and smokey one at that.. UG.. the kids played at 7 pm ( they were running late) then I tried to get them out of there.. even they said they would never play that place again.. the room is small and people are drinking.. I don't see how they can let a band of 16 year olds in there.. UGH..

Hi all!


DD went to a birthday party today for a friend at school.
She had the WORST time. They basically spent 4 hours straight in the pool, had nothing to drink and had a handful of Fritos. They were supposed to have pizza but it was never ordered. And only one other girl came.
DD is sunburned despite having put on suntan lotion, granted she didn't think she'd be in the pool for 4 hours so she didn't take any lotion with her. Basically they kept them at the pool the whole time and did nothing else. She is totally wiped out and tired. She had such a bad time that she actually cried when she got home. I feel so bad for her. She said "I've been robbed of 4 hours of my life I'll never get back and the $$ we spent for the gift card."
I told her she should have called for a ride home, but she said she didn't have her cell phone with her and didn't think to ask to use their phone.

Sorry to dump that on you all. I just feel so sorry for her.



Tigg Sorry no pics. I took them with my cell phone and I don't have the cord to connect to the computer for it. I did bring my regular camera with but chose not to use it. It's kinda heavy and it was so humid there that I just didn't want to lug around one extra thing.

Well, it's the start of another week

This weather lately is absolutly wonderful!!

I spent the whole weekend outside.
Friday night was the FD vs PD softball games - what a beautiful night for this.
It was alot of fun, because I love seeing everyone - it's like family getting together.
Stephanie announced most of the games, and she was really good at it, and she had a lot of fun!!!!

Saturday, Stephanie had a 9am soccer game, which they tied the other team.
Then, I walked around a town fest for 9 1/2 hours straight selling pins and buttons for our town centennial coming up in 2010. I sold alot, and I was very proud of myself when the night was over Boy was I tired though - I never stopped once. I wish I had a pedometer on, because I know I walked way over 10,000 steps that day

Yesterday was another awesome day with our neighbors.
Our family started the day out by going out to breakfast (I was hungry, because I basically didn't eat all day at the fest), then went to a farmers market, and then took a nice Sunday drive
Then we came home, and were at our neighbors the rest of the day. They had some family over, and we sat outside and watched football and ate, while the kids played (from 1pm until 8pm). Kevin didn't come in with us, because he was watching the Bears game over there. Our neighbor had 2 very large tvs in his garage, and then he brought out his BIG screen tv outside, and put it on the driveway - it was so funny!!!! We don't have a block party once a year, we have one every weekend!!!!

Well, it's time to go wake up Katie, which probably won't be easy.
She was really tired after playing outside all day, and even though I got her to bed at 8:30pm, I know she'll still be difficult to wake up.

Hey everyone! Busy weekend around here! Worked a double on Fri., went to the Cubs game and dinner with my family on Sat., then ADRs, airline tickets, and homework yesterday.
Hersey- I didn't bring the Cubs any luck! Maybe it was the fact that DH was wearing his Reds shirt!
Slo- Sounds like you had a nice weekend! Dh would love to live in your neighborhood. I told him he was like a kid on Xmas morning yesterday, waiting for NFL to start!
Aloha- Hey! Read your other thread but didn't reply since you had already gotten some good advice...move out. You don't owe her anything. GL! Anyway, what are you studying?
Bunchkin- Horrible about dd! When I saw yoour Fbook post I was so happy for her, already making new friends and all!
ID- The weather was beautiful this weekend, wasn't it? I have a nice farmer's tan on my right arm, though. Looks like the strawberry/vanilla part of neoploitan icecream!
Tig- I keep telling DH how much I want Wii TSM. I wonder if he'll get the hint?!?
Mac- That Modern Marvels episode is way cool. We have it on DVD!

Okay, thoughts on ADRs?
SA-Been,okay food, awesome atomosphere, at request of dcs and mom
GG- never been, kids wanted to go
SciFi- Been several times, kids wanted to go, want to take mom
TTS- Okay food but one of our best meals, service wise, last trip. Also fits in with our MVMCP night
WCC- Never been,kids are excited about it, hoping we get a fun server
1900 PF- Never been, heard great things about character interaction
Kona for bfast- Tonga toast here I come!

Morning all!!

DH's car died and until he buys a new one, which I'm hoping is soon, I will have to drive him to work and pick him up. So I was up before 5am in order to get him to work by 5:30. The afternoon pickup is what I'm not looking forward to. There is always to much traffic in the area he works near, and lots of accidents.


DD is sick. She was sniffling yesterday and I figured it was her allergies. But after that pool party, she came home feeling worse. I had a visit from her late last night because she couldn't breath. I'm not sure if she'll be going to school today. The poor kid needed lots of sleep.


Anyone see/hear what happened at the MTV VMA awards?
Poor Taylor Swift. Official Kanye hater here! That guy is a nut case!

Bunchkin Yes the VMA's were crazy this year. From Katy Perry butchering Queen's song to Kanye being rude to Lady Gaga's weird outfits and performance...NUTS!

Good Morning Everyone! Beautiful weekend! The concert Friday night went well. I left after intermission though. I was exhausted after working a 12 hour day. Saturday I did laundry and doggie sat my sister's dog while they got new carpet installed. Yesterday, grocery shopped with dad (his ankle is still hurting but doing better) then i mowed the grass, mike helped me get my luggage down from the top shelf in the basement! I also started getting some clothes together. So it was a good weekend!

DG- SA is San Angel Inn...like I said, the food is okay but the atomosphere is awesome. My mom had always wanted to go, and my dcs think it is so cool, so we are going. I only have 6 ADRs since this is a short trip. I could spend every last one in Epcot, but we are only going twice and ds requested Garden Grill since it overlooks The Land (one of his faves-he's a little nerd).
Bunchkin and Aloha- I did not watch the VMAs since the tv was all NFL, all day but I did see the Kanye clip. How rude was that? Yikes. Poor, poor taste.

Okay, off to shower since I went to the gym. then, I am taking the dd to lunch-although I shouldn't. She got in trouble at recess on Fri. for spitting on someone! it was some boy who is her "arch enemy". I was shocked.She is one of those kids that is a sassy hellion at home but really good at school.

Evening guys! Just loving this beautiful weather! Wish it could last forever.......

Kept DD12 home from school, she was a wreck last night going to bed. Had been up to serve 7a mass, went to open gym at her gymnastics place and got a "rip" (about a pea sized spot where she wore off a few layers of skin on the bars), had bball practice and jammed her ring finger on the other hand. Has been battling a cold and was complaining of a headache and sore throat. She is NOT a kid to miss school, always gets up and goes even when she's feeling crummy. She slept a lot and I think it did her good. She's had this cold for just over a week, I hope it's gone soon.

DD8 is having a tougher time in school this year. She's a kid that does the bare minimum and wants it all done quickly and she's learning 3rd grade has higher expectations. She's had a few papers with bad marks because she didn't read all the directions. I visit my mom on Mondays and her best friend from school lives across the street, she was VERY sad she couldn't go along tonight because she had to re-do one assignment that the teacher thought was too sloppy plus her regular homework.

paint - sorry, no help on the painter but looks like others can help out!
*So glad you get to keep your trip, I think you will all have a great time. ADRs look great, only one we've never done is WCC. DS9 loves GG and the Land ride too!

disneygal - sounds like you had a very productive weekend. It's so much fun to start packing for a trip!

Good Morning Everyone! I have a stupid question but i actually lost about an hour sleep over this last night. My flight info says, depart ohare 820am arrive MCO 12pm. Is that 12pm central time or Eastern time b/c if it's central time I'm not sure we will make our 530pm ADR after waiting for the ME and checking into ASmu. Speaking of checking in, has anybody done the online check in? I don't really get what it does. Same with online check in for the flight. we still need to go to the counter to get our KTW cards and still need to go to the counter to give the airline our bags. i just don't get it. is it something i should consider doing?

ID ~ hope DD12 feels better soon.

Paint ~ we considered doing San Angel but decided on Rose and Crown instead.
