ID, prayers for your mom. It is so sad to see our parents age. We like to think of them as they were when we were kids.
Mac, we have free GA tickets to use before Aug. 8th. I will be sure to let you know when we will head that way. I'd love a mini meet!! Maybe we all could plot a day on here to go at the same time. It's not the MK, but it's a lot closer to home.

I sure wish the heat would return. Had planned to take the kids to the AquaCenter today, but the clouds rolled in and it is thundering, and it cooled off. So much for family night there I am thinking. Now what to ponder for dinner.

OK so it was peperoni pizza. Very sad cause I love it but won't be eating it for a while.

I'm looking into the possibility of going to the Irish Cottage in Galina next weekend. It will be our 5th anniversary of when we met and since we desided to get the roof fixed instead of going to WDW I figured this might be fun. Has anyone ever stayed there?

I'm hoping it will be a nice weekend as we have a party at our neighbor's house on Sat night I'm hoping it won't be to cold.

DG ~ I can't believe your trip is so close! Yahoo! I'm getting so excited for you!

Kim ~ There really is no comparison. I kept my mouth tightly shut while I was on the outing but it is definately not Magic Kindom! It is good if you have a plan but if you don't (We didn't) it is harder.

ID ~ I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Do you know her neighbors? Could you ask them to check up on her? Also maybe get their phone numbers and put them next to the phone. You can also program her cell phone if she has one? Take a look at her cooking stuff too. Does she drink tea? you might want to get her an electric kettle cause it shuts off automatically. You may also be ablet o fix her lights so that they go on automatically when she walks in a room. Finally you know there is something to be said for that emergency necklace, the Alert One http://www.alert-1.com/google/plans.asp?gclid=COn-yLnV7JsCFYZM5Qod6nzo6Q It may give piece of mind. Hope this helps!

Esbrick Sorry to hear it was pepperoni my son's favorite. I hope you enjoy your roof. It stinks when you have to choose vacation or having a dry indoor space to sleep. I chose to pay off my credit card bills instead of a vacation this year. Until the ecomony picks up I need to watch my pennies.

It's very annoying when reality interrupts my fantasy world! But hey, we have Ireland in December and we may be able to swing a trip to WDW later this year too so I’m not going to sweat it to much. We’ve been blessed this year so I am thankful!

Would love Mickey Bar all the same though!!!

Mac Yup I am here. I don't stay on the computer much lately cause I some how hurt my back/shoulder and typing hurts. Since I have to type all day at work I save myself for that. Yes I know but a dime is a dime. I enjoy sleeping indoors with 3 squares.

Hi guys! Well, my mom is not overly thrilled with her new sleeping arrangements but is OK I guess.

Taught again tonight and had a private with an old adult student so that means more $$ - yeah! She wants another private lesson next week.

DD12 comes home from camp tomorrow! I will drive out to the Rockford area again to pick her up tomorrow afternoon. I hope she got a lot of horseback riding in, they said they probably would since they had a small group at camp this week. I was actually shocked at how few there were, wonder if it is another casualty of the economy.


Hersey - I hope your back/shoulder feels better soon, hopefully you'll get some rest this weekend.

esbrick - never been to the Irish Cottage but would love to hear about it. My cousins, sisters and I were talking about maybe going there for a girls weekend so I'd be interested in hearing about it if you go.
*Thanks for the suggestions for my mom. In good Irish tradition one of my oldest brothers lives at home with my mom but he does work full time. There are seven of us other kids living in the area so we've all taken a day of the week to visit but we aren't there all the time. The good thing is five of us live within 2mi of her so we're nearby if needed. She resists the Alert One things because she doesn't want to call emergency people, she wants one of us! She is one STUBBORN woman but I think she is starting to realize some of her limits.

Tiggerrn - I'm new on Facebook too, still trying to figure it all out. If you (or anyone else) wants to friend me send me a PM.

slo - so glad Stephanie had a great birthday!!

I puppysat Penny last night, and she was so good!!!! Sophie was a little confused though, and didn't seem very happy about all the attention that she was getting. I also think that she thought she was staying, and she because much happier once Penny left. She'll just have to get used to Penny, because she'll be visiting alot

Her bday continues for awhile because this Sunday she is having a couple friends over for a pool party, and then next Sunday is hers and Katie's family bday party. Then Katie will have a pool party, and then it'll finally be her actual bday

ID - I'm sorry your mom is frustrated with her sleeping arrangements, but hopefully she'll soon understand that it's for her well being My dad is the same way - he believes he's fine, and then gets angry when you do something to protect him. My mom wanted to put a lock on the basement door, so my dad wouldn't try and go downstairs and fall while she's not home - he got so mad that he told her he'd kick the door down if she did that, so she frustratedly didn't put the lock on.

Debbie - So great to see you!!!!!! Please don't be a stranger and come by often!!!

Well, the shower is calling, and I must go, so I can get to work.
I'm continuing to stay very steady, which is totally awesome!!!
If this steadiness continues through Christmas, that would be totally awesome!!!! I would love to get ahead a little, so the dead winter months won't be so stressful for me.

Good Morning Everyone! My dad and i are going to go see G-Force tomorrow! I'm excited. i love movies with talking animals. they crack me up. Also, I'm taking care of my sister's 1.5 year old Victorian Bulldog while she's away. She'll be coming home tomorrow night most likely. This morning I took him for a walk so he could do his business and then brought him back into the condo. let me tell you, that dog is STRONG. he wanted to run up the stairs and was practically pulling me behind him. when we were walking he was very good and stayed right next to me... maybe he just doesn't like stairs and wants to get them over with

Slo ~ glad Penny is feeling better. Poor Sophie. she was probably very confused and worried that you were getting her a sibling! Sounds like you will have a busy couple of weekends with all these birthday festivities.

Piglet ~ I agree. Mark Buerhle did awesome! He's one of my favorite Sox players so I'm very happy for him! what an unbelieve success.

ID ~ That's great that you are able to do private lessons too! Congrats again.

Esbrick ~ I've never been to Galina so I can't really help but I know my sister loves it there. I'm not sure if she's been to the Irish Cottage though. It sounds lovely I can't believe the trip is so close now. It feels like we just booked it. Actually, we just booked our flights 2 days ago, and i'm glad we did b/c the price of our return flight just went up $70.... I also still need to purchase our MNSSHP tix. Well, really Mike needs to purchase them b/c it's my bday gift! I'm so excited.

I just booked two ADR's for Kouzinna's - Cat Cora's restaurant replacing Spoodles. The CM didn't have much information the specific times they would be open for breakfast and lunch but they are booking according to the Spoodles hours. I got supper on the day we arrive, 9/25 at 6:25 pm and breakfast on Monday, 9/28 at 10:30 am.

I am super excited to try this restaurant even though the menu is posted yet! It is on the dining plan, I was told. Uncertain if it is on Tables in Wonderland at this time.

Sad news.
DH's mom passed away this morning. He was already at work when the hospice facility called him at 6:50 to tell him. I was asleep when he came home at about 7:20am to tell me. He actually startled me out of my sleep.
We just spoke last night of how we were going to take the kids to see her when she was to be moved to the nursing home this weekend.
She hadn't been doing well these past few days since being moved into the in-patient care unit of the hospice. She took a fall while she was there, she was trying to get out of bed they think to try and leave. She was really disorientated. She could no longer carry on a conversation and was starting to be lost in her own mind. Tony said it was really hard on him and his dad to see her that way the past couple days. She took a turn for the worse so quickly these past couple weeks. Her cancer was so aggresive as it had formed not only in her stomach but they did find a mass near her brain a couple weeks ago.

I'm glad the kids and I were able to come here and help and be with her.
Now to help Tony's dad. FIL's mind in on overload right now. Tony is with his dad and we've been on the phone with each other many times. His dad just asked him if his car could make it to Chicago!!! He has no real clue that he just can't get in the car and drive off. He gets lost driving more than a couple blocks from his house. He's been asking him all kinds of crazy things. Tony's mom took care of EVERYTHING!! He has no clue about what money they have or how it is to be spent. Luckily, Tony has been handling this since he moved out here in January. But his dad has no clue he has to be on a budget and not just run off!


I need to run for now. The kids and I are going to join Tony over at his dad's and help get some things straightened out.
