Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Registration went well yesterday.
I warned Katie that someone will be taking her and asking her questions, of which she wasn't happy about:sad2: . When it was time for her to go, she went with no problem, which I was releaved about (she is a REAL mama's girl. On X-Mas Eve she was chosen to put baby Jesus in the manager, and she started crying, because I was lectoring and couldn't go with her (Stephanie offered to go, but that wasn't good enough), so I was thrilled she went w/o tears yesterday). While Katie was with the teacher, I had tons of paperwork to fill out. While I was filling out the paperwork, I could hear Katie answering her questions confidentally, and without nervousness, which I was releaved about:) . When we were ton, the whole thing took about 40min, so not to bad. Katie now says she is looking forward to school, but we'll see what happens in August - I think it will be a different story then:rolleyes:

Mac - That is how things were with Stephanie. Stephanie has always been so happy and confident, which is good. Katie has always been more clingy, emotional, and very sensitive, which makes her easy to baby, which is why I'm having such a hard time with her growing up.

TTiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigern - Did you go to the doctor yesterday? What did he/she say? Are you on meds? How do you feel today? Can I ask anymore questions??????? Seriously....I hope you are starting to feel better  I'll send more PD your way:wizard:

geffric - I chuckled when I read your post, because that's how I will be. I will be teary eyed (alot) but when I'm able to get out of the house on time, and w/o aggrevation because Katie is SO SLOW, I'll get over it:laughing:

momto1 - How did the weigh in go? I hope it was what you hoped for:wizard:
**I'm sorry about the cruise:guilty: I wish I could go with you.
**Congrats on the walking!! I look forward to walking again - I miss it!!!! I haven't been working out in the house, because my neck has really been bothering me, and I just can't bear to get a migraine from working out.

DG - I didn't see that about Beauty and the Beast - very interesting!!!!:)

HERSEY - :wave2:

Well, I"m off and running!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

morning..

job search went well yesterday.. had a phone inteview with a call back next week and an appt set for a different company in April..

Sanyo called yesterday and after trying to get the TV fixed for the past few weeks, they authorized ( SP) us to replace it.. so we went to Wal Mart and got a new Sanyo TV.. hope it works longer than the last one..

Tonight is a pasta party for the track team.. I am baking 4 corn breads for it.. and helping serve and clean up.

Geoff was at a meeting yesterday for the scout reach camping trip in August and will be working from the youth side to determine the program and get "volunteers" ..

Afternoon all. It is strep. I am miserable.
Geffric, good luck on the job front.
Hi to everyone and enjoy these beautiful, warm days.
I am going back to lie down now.:sad1:

Tigg ~ Hope the meds kick in fast and that you get to feeling better.

Hi guys! Just another quick drive by while waiting for DSs bus to arrive. What a beautiful day!! A tad windy but warm.....

DH comes home from Vegas today, it wasn't as bad this time. We have DDs parent meeting for First Communion tonight and DD11 has BBall practice.

We've started our Double Digit dance for our June trip   I think the time goes by quicker once you hit double digits. ;)

Tiggerrn - so sorry it is strep but at least the antibiotics will help quickly. Hope you're feeling better soon, I've had it more times that I can count so I know what you're feeling.

geffric - congrats on the job front, hope it continues to go well.
*Glad you're getting a new TV to replace the broken one.

slo - none of my kids were clingy for school, they were all like "uh bye Mom, see ya" . It is hard when the baby goes though but it won't take you long to adjust, it's pretty nice to get things done without a shadow.

momto1 - hope your weigh in went well, glad I don't have to face that. I've been the biggest couch potato for the last month or so. I so need to get my behind in gear.
*I hope you fill your Illuminations cruise, I've never done one but would love to some day.

mac- LOVE your cliff notes reply, very funny...
*Hope your therapy and recovery is going well.

:wave2: to everyone else, hope you're enjoying this wonderful day.

Well, DSs bus will be pulling up any second and I've got to check on DHs flight so I'd best run. Have a great night everyone. :flower3:

Good morning! Yesterday was so great a little windy but great. I like when we can not have our coats zipped and buttoned up to our eyeballs

I hope we don't have as much rain as they are predicting. I need to clean the mud and dirt out of my house. I think I need a shovel.:rolleyes1

Well I better get out the door. I hope everyone is feeling better who is sick or has sickies at home.:flower3:

Did you all here of the new pirate exhibit at The Field Museum?pirate: I really really want to see it, and I'm hoping Stephanie wants to see it too, because that would be a nice day for us. I will keep Katie home though, because she has no patience for museums:sad2:

geffric - I"m glad you had a good day with job searching!!!:) I hope you have more of those days:wizard: I'm also glad that your tv could be replaced. I hope this one works better than the last one:wizard:

TTTTTTiggggggggernnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn - I"m sorry to hear you have strep  This weekend is going to be yucky and rainy, and will be a great time to relax and get better. I'll send more PD your way to get better soon!!:wizard: :wizard:

piglet - :wave2:

ID - Stephanie was the type also that went to kindergarten without any problem, which made it easier for me. But when Katie switches classrooms at the daycare, with new teachers, we always go through a couple weeks of her crying and holding on to my leg like I'm throwing her to the wolves:rolleyes: I just know this is how she will be in August - which will be hard on both of us:sad1: Hopefully she'll prove me wrong:rolleyes:

Well, I'm off to throw some laundry in washing machine.
Have a great day today everyone!!!

I need to clean too, and it's so uninspiring to clean with it's cloudy and rainy. I would much rather be doing:happytv:

Morning..

yesterday was great.. if it would just stay like that.. cat is following me around and crying for an open window or 6.. LOL

I am going to seee Slumdog today... it is the first day I haven't job hunted or cleaned.. so I am going to goof off and see a movie..

Hi gang! I think I have spring fever and might have to ditch out of work early! DS and DH are supposed to be in the Plainfield St Patrick's Day parade on Sunday with the baseball team. I hope the rain holds off for them.

Slo - glad the kindergarten registration went well! Enjoy your morning routine with Katie cause August will be here before you know it. I haven't seen the exhibit but have heard a little about it. It sounds good though. Give us a review if you go.

Geffric - Have fun goofing off today! It is a great day to do that! Your job search seems to have some good possibilities. Continued good luck!

Tiggern - I hope you are feeling better! Bummer!

Hi to everybody else! Have a good weekend!
Lori

Hey i was just curious if anybody was up for a meetup of all us disers in the area....maybe there's a middle place...not just the city

Was anyone else's sleep disturbed earlier. Boy that thunderstorm was loud.

I have plans to clean carpets today. I wonder if I can get the dogs to wear boots :rolleyes1

Tigggg How are you feeling? Hopefully the drugs are doing their thing. Hopefully you don't have to work this weekend and can rest.

Geffric How was Slumdog?

Slo That Pirate exhibit looks really cool. Let me know how you like it.

Aren't the weekends wonderful!!!!! :teeth:
Saturdays are always pretty active for me, but I love it, because I have a chance to be outside of the store for awhile:) I do have to return to work today at 2pm, for an appt I made with a customer, but that's okay, I don't mind :)

Are you all prepared for the rain :umbrella:
It sounds like my area is going to get a lot - possibly 3"
That isn't good, because my area can't take anymore flooding.:sad2:

geffric - How was the movie? I can hardly wait to hear your review!!!!

momto1 - I forgot St. Patty's Day was coming:shamrock: . Now that Kevin and I don't go out for green beer, I never remember when St. Patty's Day is. Have fun in the parade - I hope the rain stops long enough for you so don't get wet:wizard:

Robbya - When and where did you have in mind?

HERSEY - We didn't have a thunderstorm by us. Isn't it funny that we live so close, but our weather is so different sometimes.

Well, I best get going and start this day.
Have a good Saturday everyone, and don't forget to turn your clocks up an hour

Morning..

Slumdog was not as I expected it to be.. but was very good and I am glad that I saw it.. parts were disturbing to me - but overall it was very good.

Robbya - sure when and where..

HERSEY - the thuderstorms were bad here too. Woke me up bad and one of the boys too.. Which is hard to do when your a teen sleep is a state that is not easily disturbed..

off to laundry and clean.. Our high school has a craft fair today and I an going to stop by there. The have a group that buys gold and I have some broken necklaces and one earring type stuff I want to sell.

im not sure exactly where i was hoping some of you would have some ideas i live in elgin.. but dont know where would be some easy places for us to get

good saturday afternoon chicagoland homies.....

rain rain, go away, come again some other day............

i sing it and it still is coming down......

geffric, i didn't say much about slum dog millionaire on this board after i saw it. i would say, it definitely did not deserve pic of the year or any other of those awards it received. typical indian movie, even with the dancing at the end. i found the movie very ho hum.

i tried to see benjamin button but it had already left our area.
blockbuster will have it when the dvd rentals come out.

i booked my air w/aa last friday at a decent price.
watchdog sent me a note on a week ago thursday that the prices on united and american had a special at $158 + tax. i did a 24 hour hold on the ressie and bought it that next day.

on wed and yesterday, i checked the prices ......same flight but well over $300...just short of $350.

geffric, you bought your ticket before didn't you?

now i forgot what else i was going to say.
when i think of it, i'll come back with my one minute reply..........

MAC - I used a free ticket on Delta.. played with the dates and this worked out ... so I have OKW on points and free air.. so bring on the F&W and MNSSHP..

well it stopped raining.. sort of for a while anyway.. but my van has more issues.. DH called from the boy scout thing he was at.. couldn't get the key to turn in the ignition.. so I told him to flip the key and it will work.. he called back.. nope didn't work.. so I drive over there and try it with my key.. clicked the thingy on and off and DH rocked the car a bit but the key would not turn.. so I called motor club and they sent a tow truck. Well the guy can't tow it unless it is in neutral and my van was in park.. so he tryed it a few times and then said he had this happen before and took out his phone and whacked the key and got it to turn..and the car started. He then explained that the ignition was going bad. So I drove the van and DH drove the car to the fix it place and they will check it on Monday.. wonder what a new ignition costs???

Geffric Sorry you are having car problems The last couple of weeks my car was doing strange things, I think all is worked out now :worship: I know of a place Not to far from you that does a great job and does not cost alot. Let me know if you want info. It is on Medinah rd and Irving there are 2 so let me know I don't think I can post the name here.

Ok what is with 3:00 in the morning with the thunderstorms :confused3 Enough already.

I got the carpets all cleaned yesterday. I did my best to keep the animals off them so they dried.

Mac You should hover over by the budget boards there is a freebie thread that on monday they show the free redbox codes.

I hope everyone remembers it is an hour later.

All this rain stinks!!! :umbrella:

geffric - I'm so sorry to hear of the car problems:guilty: I hope the repairs aren't to expensive, and that it's able to get fixed soon:wizard:

Mac - Congrats on booking your airfare!!!:cheer2:

Everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and take Sophie out before the next wave of rain comes
Have a good day!!!
