Calling all Chicago DISers #2

Taking tomorrow off work to replace our sump pump. The old one is only 4 years old, but it's got a diaghram switch on it and it's been getting weaker and weaker. It's now to the point that the battery backup pump I installed turns on long before the main pump. I did replace the switch the other day with a tethered switch, but I did it while the pump was still in the pit, so I'm not happy with the way it's adjusted (and the backup still comes on first). I finally decided to just purchase a new pump from Amazon and replace the main pump altogether before we leave for our trip. It's good for peace of mind.

We are heading back to WDW in exactly 33 days, but who's counting? AND...we are down to 155 more days till our first Disney cruise.

Let's see... It's two days now before we leave for our next WDW trip and three days before we leave for our next Disney cruise.

I don't blame you for replacing it. I think I would have had to do the same thing. Never fun to come home to a disaster.

I am so sore today.
I tried Tae Bo for the first time yesterday, and wow, I don't think I will ever do it again. Not only did it prove that I am totally uncoordinated, but it hurt my neck, and my knees. If you ever want to know if you are a coordinated person, put in Tae Bo - it'll tell ya!!!


That house that blew up in Munster was crazy!!!
We were eating dinner when it happened, and Kevin heard it at our house, and we are 10-15 minutes away (he sits next to the kitchen window, and the window was open. I didn't hear it). Shortly after that he gets a phone call from someone on the FD saying telling him what happened, and to make his way to the station, because they were going to get toned out for mutual aid to Munster. He got up and left, and maybe 3 minutes later the tone went off. Then I was watching the news and my Chiropractor on channels 5 & 7 was interviewed about what happened - I was so shocked to see him. I can hardly wait to see him next week to talk to him about it.

DMM - I'm glad your grandpa didn't lose to much with the flooding.
**When you have a chance, please pm me with whatever I need to look for, to find your items on ebay. I'm interested to see your things, and I know the DIS would frown on you doing this on here, and I don't want you to get in trouble.

Tiiiiigernnn - That's nice that you have someone to walk with. Sometimes at night, Kevin and I walk Sophie, and I enjoy having the company.

piglet - How's your new position going at work? I hope you are enjoying it.

DG - That's nice that the dogs get along so well I'm hoping my dog, and my moms dog, and my inlaws dog, learn to get along - they don't like Sophie now. Sophie wants to play play play, and their dogs are older and crabby.

Bunchkin - Stephanie missed 2 days of school. It was good to have things back to normal yesterday.

maizie - Kevin made Chicken Noodle, and it was so yummy!!! I used to hate homemade soup, and I don't know if my taste changed because I'm an adult (I really hated it as a kid) or if I just like his All I know, is he makes the best soup and chili

We are leaving early today, because I have to make a frame delivery. I will need to go through Munster in order to go where I'm going, and I'm interested to see everything that is going on in that town.

No, this is a trip Carol and I planned without the girls for the DVC member cruise. We knew the girls couldn't get away in September, so we decided to do it ourselves. We were on the innaugural DVC member cruise in 2003, but haven't had time for any of them since. We also bought tickies for MNSSHP. Carol was really debating whether we should bother at $60 a person, but I told her that it's something we've never experienced, so even if it is expensive for what we'll get out of it, let's just do it once.

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on the pump for the past couple of years and since it's now not coming on until after the backup pump, it's time to do something. I've been planning to buy a spare pump to keep on hand anyway, so now, I'll just keep the old one as a spare instead. I've already got a 10' length of spare sump hose in case I ever need it.

Morning everyone OMG!! A house explosion?? Oh is that scary!! My news misses so much! haha! I can tell you all about the new antique mall in Rockford though! hahahhaha!!!

Let's see...I'm totally interested in a Christmas Card exchange!! I will PM you my addy, but it may switch in November. We are in the process of possibly buying a new house and we were supposed to have moved in the end of October, but that fell through and now we are looking at the end of November....but it it goes any later we are going to wait until the new year because who wants to move house over the holidays Either way i'm moving like 10 houses down! hahah! (not really but maybe like 20!) and my mail will be FWD. so no biggie!

Oooo Crissup, you are so lucky!! (about the trip, not the pump!) Disney Cruises are sooo fun! we're cruising in December of '10 as a Grand Gathering with everyone and their kids for my grandmothers 80th!

About a week ago, there was a house that exploded in Frankfort. I'm not sure if they ever determined the cause. I believe it damaged about a dozen houses around it.

I'm thinking this will be my 5th Disney cruise. I'm actually losing track. I believe my first was the innaugural DVC member cruise in 2003.

Crissup - How was your day off yesterday? Were you able to get everything done?

It was good! Got the new pump installed, adjusted the height of the battery backup pump and ensured the whole shebang still worked when I was done. Afterwards, I showered up and then ran out to mow the lawn for the first time since mid-July (all the rain made the grass triple in height suddenly!). When that was done, it was off to the Village Valet, in town, to pick up my shirts. Once all that was done, then it was Miller time!!

hahaha!!! We've only cruised on the DCL 3 times as a couple, but I have cruised 5 already (2 when I was younger with my family and 1 of those times on the first sailing of the magic!) and I really think it gets better each time!!

Sandy, the house is literally down the block from here and then the second one we are interested in is maaaaayyybe 2 blocks away! haha! We want to move to the actual neighborhood where Autumn and the kids will go to school, it's a more established neighborhood and since the houses are a bit older, the lot sizes are a lot bigger. We are all about big back yards now. The church is in the center of this neighborhood with a ring of houses around it and then another ring around those and the 3rd ring. We are moving to the 2nd ring, but would love the 1st haha and right now we live in the 3rd. sounds confusing!!

Just a thought, i LOVED MNSSHP much better than MVMCP.. not sure why maybe the weather and the song Boo to you but whatever it was, I loved it and got the tshirt to prove it..

YEAH CUBS.. i was checking on that on the 'puter from work yesterday and then had to run for the train, so i checked on the blackberry and shouted for the whole train car.. CUBS WIN!!! YEAH! many in the car were very excited too..

Morning.. i am working from home today.. have lots to do.. but since the weather is warm i have the patio door open and the cat is very happy and watching the world and the squirrels, chipmonks and birds go by..

DMM - good luck on the house search. I would thin k that there are many houses on the market at a reasonable price now that all of the finanical markets have collapsed. We have a lot of houses for sale in our area.. just go to show that what goes up must come down too

That's crazy true! When we first moved to the area, that's where we wanted to move and there was literally nothing for sale, it was so bad that we were looking in the obituaries in hopes that we would be able to jump on a house going up for sale. (90% of the people in this neighborhood are older older). Now we have our pick of houses! It's pretty good for us, but scary at the same time for all those people.

Slo - Our friends in Hobart sent us pictures of the flooding. Wowzy! Hope everything is getting back to normal. I am glad the expressways in IN opened yesterday. Our traffice has been so bad this week. The reporters say it was from people rerouting.

A shameless mom brag - DS took 4th in the Cross Country meet yesterday. Where he gets this running skill is beyond me. Definitely not from me or dh for that matter.
