Crissup, just wondering how was Cape May Cafe? We have ressies there our first night. Thought we'd eat and then wander over to Epcot for Illuminations. Do they have a "normal" kids meal (because my kids are so "normal" that they'd never try anything different.:rotfl: Might kill 'em)?

Cape May is one of our regular places every trip. We love it! Along with the clams and great clam chowder, they typically have BBQ ribs and beef tips along with a kids section containing chicken planks and mac-n-cheese. Of course, they're known for their dessert selection.

When it wasn't raining, the sun was very hot.

:surfweb:

I played the Wii for the first time last night, and it was alot of fun!!!!
I look forward to bowling again tonight!!!:teeth:

Crissup - All the restaurants you mentioned are places we haven't been to. We need to start going to more places. ::yes:: Where is that buffeteria place you mentioned. I've never heard of that.

paint - Enjoy your days off :cool1:
**I'm sorry to hear your DD hurt herself also :guilty: I'll send tons of PD her way to heal up soon:wizard: :wizard:

DG - I've been really tired to lately, and haveing a hard time getting up. I'm thinking it's because of puppy, or because I'm getting a cold. Either way, I'm tired and I don't like it :sad2:

Kristine - I'm glad to hear you like the Wii Fit. I"m going to put it on my X-Mas list :thumbsup2

Tiiiiiigern - I'm glad you are loving the van :)

Well, I need to get going - STephanie has another early field trip today. She is going to see a Railcats game - I'm so glad that the kids have good weather for this. Last year it was a dreadfully hot day when they went, and Stephanie did not have a good time :sad2:

Have a good day!!!!!

Trail's End Buffeteria is the restaurant at Ft. Wilderness Campground. It's in the same building as Crocket's Tavern and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Because it's a bit out of the way, most people don't even know it's there. It's always been the best priced buffet on property. One of the bus drivers turned me on to it about 12 years back. Breakfast buffet was about $15, I believe. It included grits, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, omelet, breakfast pizza, pastries, etc. It's really good. Everyone I've sent there over the years, anytime of the day, has always loved it and felt it was worth the trip to Ft. Wilderness. Depending on where you're staying, just take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hop the boat to Ft. Wilderness and you're there. There's also a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy.

Hey peeps!!! :wave2:

The family went to see the Wizard of Oz last night at the city's outdoor performing arts theatre. They showed it on a HUGE screen. All the kids got a treat bag with stuff to use during the movie, it was audiance participation!
Some bubbles for when Glenda was in a scene, a clacky noise maker for tin man, a wand for when Glenda waves her wand and a kazoo to hum the witch's theme song!!
We had so much fun! Our neighbors came with too.

slo Stephanie's daycare goes on some great field trips! :thumbsup2 I hope her foot is feeling better!
*Cutting corners on AG stuff is great!! ::yes:: It's amazing what great condition most of the items are in at the sale. It's not like they are selling rejects there! For instance, most of the girl size clothes they sell are there only because the size tag got cut a bit on the production line! Lauren got a pair of shorts that were only $1...because the tag was sliced in the middle!!
*We've eaten at Trails End in Ft. Wilderness several times too. And we've always had a great meal. Their staff are really friendly! One guy there, I think his name is Kevin, has been there forever. He's a little odd, but the nicest guy and real attentive. We've eaten breakfast and lunch there.
* In regards to your friend needing a doctor: I haven't needed a bone specialist myself but have been to the Univ of Chicago hosp for my heart and was treated great there!! Great doctors there!!!!! ::yes::

Crissup Your trip sounds great!!! What's your, and the girl's, favorite dishes at Chefs de France?

Tiggerrn Let me know if you are planning to go to Lego Discovery, which we already talked about! :thumbsup2 I'd like to go some time next month or Sept. Is Kyle a Lego Club member or Brick Master member? They sent Hunter a special addition of the Brck Master magazine for his b-day with some coupon in it for the Discovery Center? All though, right now, I can't remember what it was good for!!! I guess I should check it out! ;)
* I need to find a Creative Memory rep!!! I bought some stuff years ago, including a Mickey mini album. But I didn't, for whatever reason!, didn't buy the page protectors!! DOH!! So I need to get them in order to use the book!!! :headache:

paint Sorry to hear about your DD's leg! I hope she's doing better!
Have a great day off!! :flower3:

disneygal That stinks about the parking at the train lot and all the construction!!

mac Hope the windows are going in well!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: hope everyone is doing well! sorry this is going to be short but i just wanted to say hi!

slo and paint ~ hope your DD's injuries are healing well!

Bunchkin ~ glad you had fun at the show! It's nice they give stuff to the kiddos!

Morning all!! Looks like it will be a nice day. I have my friend's kids here for the day today. Already this place sounds like a herd of elephants. It will look like a hurricane hit before the day is over.:rotfl2:
Crissup thanks for the review. I am glad to hear this sounds like a good choice.
Bunchkin, I can give you the name of the rep for Creative Memories that I have if you want. I did hear them talking about page protectors at the party I had. Some of the sizes are being discontinued, so you probably should order them soon if you really need them. Some time in August sounds good to go to the Lego center. The movie fun sounded like a neat time. I have never heard of anything like that before. Of course, Wizard of Oz wouldn't work for us. Kyle would be panicked at the thought of a tornado.:rotfl:
Kids are whispering (plotting). HMMMM!! Wonder what they are up to?!
Glad they are having a fun day with some friends. I think we may have to go down to the park later. Not sure the house will hold.
Slo, I have the Wii Fit on my birthday request. I didn't get much use out of my gym membership in the spring. Seemed I always needed to be in the house. Maybe if I just could do a workout between loads of :laundy: I would be more inclined to do so.:upsidedow
Morning DisneyGal. Have a nice day today!!:flower3:
Going to surf around a while and then do some :laundy: before I get the kids down to the park.

Bunchkin - at Chefs we love the mac n cheese. It is a main course (lunch) with flavor like you've never seen in a mac n cheese! I also love the quiche. John said the Chef Special is excellent - it includes french onion soup with cheese; a ham and cheese melt sandwhich (very thick) with salad greens; creme brulee tops it all off. Not bad for $18.99 lunch meal special.

:)

Finally!! I've been sitting on the photos from two different trips to Disneyland last year and just never got around to finishing up posting them to the web. As of now, I finally have the photos from our August, 2007 and December, 2007, Disneyland trips online. You can find them at my vacation photo page (see link in my siggie). Enjoy!!

If I ever get around to it, I'll add the Universal Studios Hollywood photos. But first, I gotta finish last weeks WDW photos. ;)

Hi! I am so enjoying my day off today, even though we got an early start. I made a nice big breakfats for my workmen (dh, dad, and sister's boyfriend). They have been working on the deck all day! It was cool and overcast but never rained. Perfect for working! The deck is looking great, too, and should be finished early tomorrow. They might even build a little treehouse for ds with the extra wood. I will post some pics of the finished project.
Tig- Is your ds freaked by tornados? Dd is, too. She heard there was a t-storm warning and asked if there'd be a tornado! I told her our house has stood for almost 100 years- it isn't going anywhere!
dgal- Sounds like you've been busy!
Bunchkin- Wizard of Oz sounds so fun! Was it by the library? We saw a movie there once. It is a really nice set up!
Crissup- Thanks for the Y & Y info. I saw some pics on another thread and it looks good.
Slo- Field Museum was always my fave, too. I did one of those sleepover programs in 5th gr. It was really awesome.

:surfweb:

I"m start this post out by whining a little bit. I have a cold (Kevin's cold) and when I sneezed yesterday, I pulled something in my back:eek: It hurts so bad I could just cry:sad1: This is not a good time for this - work is busy, and puppy requires me to bend a lot. Thank goodness I'm going to the chiropracter today, because he can look at it. I'm thinking it's a muscle thing, at least I hope it is, because that will go away faster than a pinched nerve.

We are looking forward to The Meet on Sunday. I have not seen Wall-E yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Stephanie has seen it, and she really liked it. Who's all going again?? Please let us know if you are going.

Crissup - I like breakfast buffets so much more than dinner/lunch buffets. We will have to check that buffeteria place out. Bunchkin has always talked very highly of Fort Wilderness, that I've always wanted to go in there and look around anyway, now I have even more of a reason:thumbsup2
**No, this thread isn't temporary anymore - it a permanent 2nd home :teeth:

Bunchkin - I"m glad you had a great time seeing The Wizard of Oz with your neighbors - how fun!!!!!:goodvibes I wish we had something like that around here, but we don't:guilty: Questions.........Who put that on? Did you have to pay for it? Was this shown on a side of a building, or a big screen? Kevin is on the festival committee in our town, and I"m wondering if he can bring this up to the committee as an added thing for them to do.
**I just noticed you said it was on a huge screen, so never mind about that question :)

DG - Stephanie's foot is healing slowly and well - thanks for asking!!!!:) I'll be curious to see if Kevin will allow her to use the pool on Saturday. I think she'll be fine if she can't, because than she can play her Wii without anyone bothering her :rotfl: (because we'll be in the pool).

Tiiggggernnnnn - I'm thinking about a gym membership for the winter, but I can't find a small inexpensive gym that opens early enough for me (I would want to go at 6am). The only one by us that opens that early is a $50 a month one, and I don't want to spend that kind of money :sad2: Maybe I should skip the gym, and just buy the Wii Fit instead - I'll have to think about it :scratchin
**Did you house survive the kids yesterday?
**I wish you could go to The Meet - we'll miss you!!!!!!:sad1:

CarolAnn - So good to see you!!! :wave2:

Paint - Stephanie is also very very freaked out about tornadoes. I think our kids (Kyle too - Tigs son) need a support group. Maybe if we send them together, we'll get a group rate!!!:rotfl2:

Well, I"m off to color my hair this morning - no working out today, my back can't handle it:sad2:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

morning chicgoland homies.

slo, i won't be at the dis meet for the movie, it is just too far for me to drive to. i would like to see pictures and here about it when you all come back from it. i know dan took good pictures before of one of them. and so did others..

hope it is not serious what you did to your back.
keep us posted on how it is.

and to all the other homies, hello and good bye for right now.

will try to be back later
:wave2:

I sneezed yesterday, I pulled something in my back:eek: It hurts so bad I could just cry

I sneezed while driving a few years back and had a sharp pain rip right through my side. It was so darned painful that I left work two hours later and went to the doctor. He determined that I pulled a muscle. Wow, couldn't believe how much pain there was just from sneezing.

Crissup - I like breakfast buffets so much more than dinner/lunch buffets. We will have to check that buffeteria place out. Bunchkin has always talked very highly of Fort Wilderness, that I've always wanted to go in there and look around anyway, now I have even more of a reason

Fort Wilderness is great. Very hard to really see though, if you're not staying there because it's so spread out. Not really the type of place you can just go walk around and see. However, the bulk of the community stuff is at the settlement area, which is where you'll be if you go to eat. They also have outdoor sing alongs and outdoor movies and you can buy everything you need in the trading post to toast marshmallows and make smores. It's also the only place in the US where you can occassionally see Song of the South, since it's part of their outdoor movie rotation.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I've decided I need to find a new job. my current one is so ridiculously boring most of the time. i'm just not a desk job person...:confused3 I showed mike's mom our favor yesterday and i think she liked them but i can never tell with his family, they have sarcasm built into their bones, so sometimes when they are joking I think they are serious and when I think they are serious they're joking :confused3 i'm getting better but i am just not a sarcastic person so i get confused. oh well!!

Slo ~ I can't come to the meet this weekend :sad1: b/c I've been out of town the past too weekends I have a lot of work to do around the house and I promised my dad I'd go see Batman with him. Wish I could though! Hope you all have a great time! Glad to hear Stephanie's foot is getting better! Hope you didn't seriously injure your back! It sounds very painful.

Mac ~ :wave2:

Paint ~ Glad to hear the deck is coming along quickly! It was nice of you to make them breakfast on your day off! Hopefully the rain will hold off today for you!

Tiggern~ Hope the herd of elephants didn't mess up the house too much!! However, all that matters is the kids had a good time together! :)

have a wonderful day everyone! :flower3:

slo - Are you bringing Katie to the Meet?? I don't think you've ever brought her! I'm requesting Katie. princess: :rotfl2:

I posted this on the restaurant thread, but thought I'd ask my Chicagoland friends, too.
Dh and I will be on our honeymoon. Here are our other adrs for the trip- CRT, Coral Reef, San Angel, WC, Boma, Yak and Yeti, Sci Fi, and Ohana Bfast. We have park hoppers, so we can go to another park, too. We can also do a hotel. What do you think? I only want to use one Dp credit, since we are already using 2 on CRT. Thanks!

So? what do you think? A sister suggested Captain Jack's. I could probably get a ressie there on this shorter notice.

paint - Look at the menu for The Wave at the CR and see if you like it. It's easy to get to and probably wouldn't be too crowded since it's new.

I'm staying there, but I don't think I'd really like it for lunch and dinner since I'm picky. But breakfast looks pretty normal, so I'm planning to try it for that on our last day there. :thumbsup2

.......We are looking forward to The Meet on Sunday. I have not seen Wall-E yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Stephanie has seen it, and she really liked it. Who's all going again?? Please let us know if you are going......
Marie and I should both be there. :cool1:

Hi guys! Drove out to pick up DD11 from camp today, boy that was a long trip :faint: . It was so cute, each unit put on a little skit for the parents. It was so good to see DD again, that was one long week for me. DD6 came running out of the house as soon as we pulled in the driveway. Funny how they fight when they're together but seperate them for a few days and they are all hugs and kisses. She is totally wiped, I'm sure she'll sleep late tomorrow :) .

I'm planning on coming to the meet with all 3 kids, DS has been asking to go again so this works out well. DD6 is grumbling a bit about going "again" but I think she'll have to tough it out  . DH takes a guitar class at the Old Town School of Folk Music on Sundays so he can't make it.

disneygal - we're a very sarcastic family too, especially FIL. Thankfully I usually get it when they're joking.
*Sorry we'll miss you at the meet :sad1: , hopefully there'll be another one soon.

Crissup - I have a question about FW. We're doing a Haunted Carriage Ride there during our Oct trip. Is there anywhere there where we could watch the MK fireworks? Our ride should end shortly before the fireworks so I thought we'd watch them before heading back to AKV. If not maybe we'll head to one of the other resorts around the lagoon.

mac - so sorry you won't be at the meet :sad1: , maybe we'll catch each other while in the World in Oct.

slo - yikes, that sneeze sounds painful. My DH hurt himself stretching one morning a few years back, I had to laugh but he didn't think it was too funny :rolleyes1 .
*DD11 used to be freaked out about tornadoes, thankfully she seems to have outgrown that fear. Now she's afraid someone's going to break into the house while we're sleeping  .
**I'll have to find a gym or something for winter too. I only walk 3 days a week but I've lost 8lbs and am feeling so much better. Clothes are fitting better too. ;)

paint - glad the rain held out and didn't interfere with construction. I'm sure the deck came out great!
*Your restaurant selections sound great, we've never been to Coral Reef - looking forward to hearing all about it.

Crissup - I'm headed over to check out your photos. I've only been to DL twice, the kids really want to go but don't like flying so the 4hr plane ride is always a deterrent. Maybe once they open the DVC out there we'll give it a try.

Tiggerrn - hopefully your house withstood the "invasion" . When I have my sisters 3 kids here it always seems like a zoo, don't know how my mom did it with 9 kids  .

Well, I've got to go and unpack that duffel, goodness knows what I'll find in there :scared: .

Have a great evening everyone! :flower3:

A lot of people enjoy watching the MK fireworks from the beach at Ft. Wilderness.

If you're a Disney fan who can truly *feel* the magic (which most regulars on this site would naturally be), then Disneyland is Mecca!! It's amazing how much more magical the Disneyland park feels than WDW. The streets are narrower and the forced perspective works a *lot* better than it does in the MK. It's definitely a more magical park.
