Hey Everyone! :) Wow, I've been away in New York for three days and I'm only two pages behind. Everyone must be off enjoying the warm weather.

Walked about three miles total on Tuesday in New York City and it was 97 degrees! I must have been crazy. My clothes looked like I had thrown them in a swimming pool!! Good to be home though.

Bunchy, I'll tell Carol about the meet and see if we can make it.

slo, ouch....

try aloe lotion on the sunburn areas to take the sting out of it.

also, if you take an aspirin, that helps take the sting out also.

dgal- Love your ring and what df went through to get it! It is very original and shows he cares and pays attention!:thumbsup2 Mine is fairly unique, too. I wanted something original and kind of vintage. Mine is based on a 1925 Winston and the company keeps track (Rogers and Hollands) of how many were sold nationwide. There were just a few. Oh, and hope to see the other wdw bride here soon!
slo- Nothing beats Solarcaine. The relief only lasts a few minutes, but while it does, it is good. Maybe icecream will help, too!
Crissup- DH will look like that in WDW in Aug. He is a big time sweater (keeps me warm in winter). Everytime he says it is hot, I say- you just wait...:rotfl2:
Bunchkin- DS confessed why he likes to go to baseball games...to eat! Talk about an expensive place to eat, too!
disneynut- Your kids are too cute! Ds would like longer hair, but he gets too hot! We are going mohawk after he is in my sister's wedding later this month!

We got a new to us car yesterday! We traded in my Saturn on a CRV (dh's) and I got DH's Civic, although we will probably share. He needs the 4 wheel drive for winter since he travels lots of country roads for work. We ended up going all the way to Cincy, OH for it, though. DH's dad does a lot of busines with a dealership out there. So, we spent a ton of driving time yesterday, but did take the kids minigolfing and to batting cages (dd was scared at first, but turned into quite the slugger, even in her platform sandals!). We also ate at Skyline and Big Boy! Fun!
Today is errand running. DD has dress rehearsal and a big recital tomorrow. It is also her 7th bday, so after the dance recital (they are doing 2 shows and she has 2 dances in each:headache: ), we are going to dinner. Okay, better get going!

Good Friday Morning Everyone! :flower3: Have the day off today! woohoo! got my hairs cut. its still long enough for a ponytail but we added some layers! :goodvibes I sent a pm to the chicago disbride with the link to our wonderful thread. hopefully she'll stop by!

Slo ~ I'm sorry to hear about your sunburn. I got really burned during the walk. try some aloe, but make sure it isn't aloe lotion. the lotion has alcohol in it which makes it burn and hurt really bad. i learned from experience

Everyone else :wave2: hope you have a fabulous weekend!

OMG only 4 days. I have been so busy that I haven't even had time to do anything yet!! And I have to work the next 2!:faint:
This will be the most unorganized pack job ever.:rotfl2:
Doing laundry today and then maybe I can get started. Had the brilliant idea to put out some things for garage sale. Today and tomorrow are the town-wide sales. We don't get much traffic down this road, but thought it was worth a try. Otherwise, it is all getting donated to the church for their sale next week and I will just write it off on taxes.
Hope it doesn't rain.
Slo, take care of that sunburn. Straight aloe from the leaves of the plant works the best.
I let the kids put their own sunscreen on the other day. They have splotchy handprints on the shoulders and back. Today they are out playing with water balloons. I still don't have their pool up. That will have to wait til we come home.
Paint, Happy Birthday to your DD and good luck to her on her recital tomorrow. Hope it all goes great.
Crissup, welcome back home. Hope you enjoyed your little vacation to New York.
Bunchkin, hope you don't get any bad weather tonight for the game. Our church goes to a Jackhammers game every July. Usually we are on vacation, but not this year. Maybe we will try it.
Well, better get a move on. Not getting a thing done sitting here.
Later

Hi gang! I am back from Baltimore where it was hot, hot, hot! The flights were OK but I wasn't too happy about being stranded at Midway on a plane for 5 hours on Sunday while the nasty storm blew over and blew off the east coast.

Disneygal - Beautiful ring! I don't think I have seen rose gold before but it sure looks pretty.

Paint - Congrats on the new to you car. It is always nice to get something different.

Heading out camping in a few minutes. The weather should be nice this weekend.

Have a good weekend and Happy Father's Day to all our dads!
Lori

Hi guys! Wow, I can't believe the week is over already and it's the middle of June - where does the time go?!?! It was quite a week entertaining and feeding 6 kids ;) .

Just home from the Ped w/DD11. She's had a rash since Wed so I brought her in, turns out to be 5th Disease. Nothing real big but she was contagious before the rash and she's been with all of her cousins this whole week, my sisters are going to be thrilled :rolleyes1

paint - thanks for the link to the pics, they were lovely. I really liked the yellow, so pretty and cheerful. Everyone looked so happy!
**congrats on the new to you car!
***best of luck to dd on her recital and Happy Birthday to her!!

Kim - you are one busy lady!
*Sorry your dd has had to deal with death, it is always tough but seems more so for kids.

slo - glad you had a great weekend! Sounds like a wonderful time.
*DH and I are watching the Next Food Network Star, we DVR it and watch it after the kids are in bed. We like it so far.
**Sounds like you and the girls had a nice picnic. Sorry to hear about your sunburn, isn't it funny that we make sure to cover the kids but neglect ourselves. Cold compresses help too.

Disneynut - welcome back! So glad you had a great time! My kids really want to do Disneyland. Looking forward to reading your TR.

Tiggrrn - don't you just love all the junk that they bring home from school  . I still have a pile of stuff to go through, not sure what to do with all the half used spiral notebooks and such. How much of that stuff does one family really need ;)
*Best of luck with the packing, try to relax and you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll have a great time once there.

disneygal - so sorry to hear that school didn't work out and that you're stuck paying for everything anyway. Hopefully it will work out in the long run.
*Can't wait to see a pic of the ring, my puter is funky and I can't always see pics. DH installed a security program when we had that problem with someone hacking our stuff and now my puter doesn't recognize photobucket sometimes. Sometimes they show, most times they don't :badpc: .

Bunchkin - Welcome back! Missed you around here. I can't even imagine trying to move, packing up all the junk in this house would be impossible  .
*Thanks for putting together the meet. Will stop over there to vote but I'm pretty open so most dates will work.
**Thanks for the heads up on free museum week. Figures all the kids have daycamp next week.
***Have fun at the game, sounds like a great time. I LOVE fireworks.

mac - wish we had a Super Walmart around here. Our Walmart is old and yucky, much prefer Target around here.

Crissup - welcome back! I'd love to go to NYC someday. Have flown through there but never visited.

momto1 - welcome back! Have a great weekend camping!

Well, it is pizza and movie night and the family keeps calling me so they can start so I'd best run. Have a great one everyone!

Isn't is sad about Tim Russert passing away :(
I didn't watch him, but I knew who he was. It just goes to show you that no amount of fame or success protects you from dropping dead of a heart attack :sad2: So sad!!!!:(

Stephanie was at a slumber party with 12 girls at the party, and 7 of them spending the night - my friend is crazy:eek: !!!!! Stephanie is the oldest, at 10 years old, and the rest of the girls are all 7 or 8. Stephanie called me at one point to tell me that we forgot her sleeping bag and pillow, and the noise in the background was true craziness:headache: My friend had them all laying down and ready for bed by 10pm, and they were watching a movie - she told them the neighbors were complaining, and they had to be quiet:lmao: (she lives in a townhouse). My friends not going to want to do this again for awhile:)

piglet - I've only been using aloe on the sunburn. I probably should be taking some Advil for the inflammation (it is slightly swollen) but I wanted to give my liver a break, because I've been taking so many pain killers due to many many headaches I've been having:headache: .

Crissup - I've never been to New York, and I really want to go someday.

Mac - I didn't know aspirin helped - I will have to try that sometime!!!:)

paint - Happy Birthday to your DD  I hope she has a wonderful recital too!!!
**I'm like your son - I love baseball games to eat also!!!! :thumbsup2

DG - Thanks for the tip of aloe with lotion - I didn't know that.

Tiiggggerrrnnnn - I need to buy an aloe plant - do you have one???
**I bet you are getting very excited about your trip!!! :cool1:

momto1 - Have fun on your camping trip!!! :cool1:

ID - I'm sorry to hear about your DD having Fifth Disease:( Hopefully none of the other kids will get it.:wizard:

Well, I need to get out and get walking - it's a beautiful morning!!! :sunny:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good morning everyone! It is a nice cool morning.

We have been really busy lately. Alex went to a Who done it at our library last night. He really liked it. I'm glad our library is finally doing some fun stuff for the kids.

Tigg I think it is time I get the suitcase out of the basement and aired out. Our trip is coming up. We are trying something new this year packing only what we will wear not what if clothes.:rotfl:

We bought our air tickets early enough so I can still fly with 2 bag each free but I don't want too pack that much stuff.

Crissup Hopefully you and CarolAnn can make the meet.

Slo I remember reading about drawing a bathtub of water and putting in a few tea bags. There is something is the tealeaves that helps sunburn. A remember you can tan with sunscreen and a high spf. It just means you can stay in the sun longer.

Getting ready to go put up "lost dog" flyers for my parents. One of their dogs got loose overnight yesterday. She was picked up by Orland Hills police and taken to Animal Welfare in Chicago Ridge. Well, she managed to break free from the officer up there (about 20 minutes north of my parents) and has been missing ever since. There were several sightings, but the last was at noon yesterday.

Getting ready to go put up "lost dog" flyers for my parents.

When I first started reading that, I thought you meant your parents were missing and you'd have photos of them on the posters. :lmao:

Isn't is sad about Tim Russert passing away :(
I didn't watch him, but I knew who he was. It just goes to show you that no amount of fame or success protects you from dropping dead of a heart attack :sad2: So sad!!!!:(

I'm still really shocked by it. I can't believe he's gone. I'm very into politics and news, so while I don't watch Meet the Press, I see clips of it all the time, and I did like Russert. He seemed like a really nice guy, and I'm sure his family is completely devastated. His father outlived him. Very tragic. :sad1:

Piglet - I hope your parents find their dog!

I'm going today to look for shades for my first floor. I've been here over a year, and I still have my temporary shades up. Now all of a sudden I want to get it done. :rotfl2: I'm going to Home Depot first, because I know that a while back I saw something there that I might want for my sliding glass door. That one is the main question, I think everything else is going to be cellular shades, so the only question there is white or off-white, and light-filtering or room-darkening.

I'm also going to see about a bookcase for my den. I have a ton of photo albums that need a home. They're all still sitting on the floor.

Happy Saturday evening everyone! :flower3: seeing as i can't do much planning of my wedding yet, i have decided to start making our welcome bags. i found a sewing pattern that i really like so my sisters and i are going to actually make the bags ourselves. i was at first disappointed b/c the pattern was out of print so df went online and found it for me somewhere and ordered it for me. when i told him he didn't have to, i would have found something else, he was like, "it's the pattern you like and i want you to have what you want" I thought it was very sweet of him! anywho, getting to my question, does anyone know where i can get disney stuff (i.e. pens, notepads, etc.) in bulk or discounted. i've searched ebay and found somethings but they are all located on the other side of the world and shipping is twice as much as the actual items :confused3 i am making approximately 30-35 bags, so i need to save on things like shipping and whatnot.

Piglet ~ hope your parents find their pup... i don't know what i'd do if my buddy got lost... i would be devestated.

Kim The are some old timers that I cannot remember all their screen name, can you make sure to send any that you can think of a link to the meet. I would really appreciate it!! :thumbsup2 ::yes::
Done! :thumbsup2 Sent to 11, got a no from 2 already, they said they were banned and I didn't even know it! :rolleyes1 They're both out-of-towners.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!

Happy Father's Day to all our dads, stepdads, granddads, stepgranddads, godfathers, uncles, and etc.....I hope you have a wonderful day today!!!! :goodvibes

HERSEY - Thanks for the tea bag in bathwater suggestion - I will remember that!!!!:)
**I know about the sunscreen, but I'm embarrassed to say, that I hate putting it on, unless I'm going into the pool, and I need to get over that!!!!! I hate the way it feels, and I hate the way it smells, I just hate it - but I would probably hate skin cancer more, so I do need to get over it!!!!!
**I'm glad Alex is enjoying his activity at the library!!!! :)

piglet - I'm sorry to hear of your parents lost dog:( Is there any positive news since you last posted?

Peter & Crissup - :wave2:

Leigh - Did you have any luck with your shade shopping yesterday?

DG - Your bags sound really nice :goodvibes
I will keep my eyes and ears open about the Disney stuff for you :)

Kim - I wonder if they were a part of the mass banning that happened about 3-4 months ago:worried: I miss so many of those people so much, and it's so hard to see names on the CB that I don't recognize:(

Well, I gotta go get my house ready for the company we are having today.
Have a good day today everyone!!

We had a fast moving storm move though just a little while ago. I was cleaning the floors and had the windows open catching a breeze. Needless to say I had to remop. :( Oh well maybe they will stay clean twice as long.;)

Happy fathers day

Well back to cleaning and doing the pretrip organizing. I have to see if we need anything. The next couple of weekends are going to be very busy. My friend's son is having a college graduation party and I volunteered to help cook.

Piglet I hope your parents pet is found soon. Poor thing must be scared.
