Good Morning fellow Dis-ers!! :flower3: Two beautiful days in a row! however, i can't wait for a nice HOT weekend so i can go swimming! :goodvibes we just got our pool open b/c of all the rain and the bad winter messed up one of the sides so we had to dig it out and fix it... that is what we did this passed saturday.

So as i walk down Wacker everyday, I noticed something on the sidewalk, it looks like they filled three holes with cement or something, anywho, it kind of looks like Mickey!! everyday I walk by it and smile! One of these days I will bring my camera and take a pic of it on my lunch break!

Slo ~ how's the sunburn doing?

Bunchkin ~ Sorry to hear about your experiences with the hotel and restaurant this weekend! At least the food was good and they offered you a free appetizer and dessert, that always helps!

Paint ~ I can't believe your inspector missed that. how long have you been in the home? i'm glad you called before it got even worse!

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Paint ~ Wow! Good thing you called before something bad happened. LOL at your son being happy he does not have to take a shower.

Bunchkin ~ It sounds like, all in all, you had a great time. Very rude of the other hotel guests though.

Hersy ~ My parents breed Bernese Mountain Dogs. I will look into that site and see if it can help.
Bernese-Mountain-dog-2.jpg

Piglet Those are beautiful dogs. I looked on that site it is a little pricey but it seems they contact a lot of people including rescues.

Hi guys! Wow, it has been so nice the past two days. Both DDs are in Girl Scout day camp this week, they're really lucking out with the weather!

piglet - I hope your parents have some luck finding their dog. Bernese Mtn Dogs are simply beautiful! I got a call once from that findtoto.com so maybe they can help.

disneygal - dd6 is right there with you on the swimming, she was very bummed we couldn't go to the pool yesterday after day camp.

paint - good luck with the new job!!
*YIKES! Thank goodness you had them out, that could have been dangerous! I hope they get it all fixed for you.

slo - I love having the windows open too, except for the Great Dane next door that barks non-stop at anything and everything that goes past his house  . He belongs to the single guy next door who works at a restaurant downtown so he's gone most evenings and the dog just barks and barks, loudly. The other night he barked for about 40min straight! :headache:
*Have you had anymore coyote sightings on your early morning walks?

Tiggerrn - I hope you have a great trip and hope they can figure out what is up with your dh's aunt.

Bunchkin - sorry about the rude hotel guests, I hate when that happens. Glad the restaurant experience ended up good.

Time to head out and do a bit of yard work. Enjoy the beautiful day everyone!

It's going to be another beautiful day today!!!! :sunny:
We are going to enjoy this day by going to Lincoln Park Zoo. This is my favorite zoo, because it's not to big, and you can get through it at a good pace. All our adventures are being done very economically, so we are taking our lunches and snacks (we are doing things economically to offset the price of gas). I even told the girls that we ARE NOT going into any gift shops because we are not coming home with souveniers :sad2: They seemed to understand (for now:rolleyes: )

HERSEY - What is Alex doing when you go to work this summer? Is he staying home by himself? My daycare I use only takes children until they are 12 years old, and it's weird to think that Stephanie only has 2 more years there. Then I guess she'll stay home alone (she'll love that!!!!!:woohoo: )

paint - I would be so annoyed with that home inspector :headache: I'm glad you got the gas leak identified, and that you are getting it fixed.:)
**I had to laugh about how you wake up your kids. I have to do the same thing, except with Stephanie, I have to resort (sometimes) to the water bottle I use to spray their hair with. A couple of squirts of that works everytime!!!!:thumbsup2

DG - The sunburn is healing, but very slowly!!! It is still pink, and it is peeling like crazy. I've been putting H20 Body Butter on it, and that seems to help with keeping it moist, and keeping that peeling under control. But the big thing now, is that it itches itches itches:eek: Then when I go to scratch it, I stop short, because it is still very tender:eek: I really burned it good  Thank you for asking!!!:)

piglet - My mom has a friend with one of those dogs, and it was the cutest putty I have ever seen :goodvibes So fluffy, with such big paws - adorable!!!!! Have your parents heard any positive new?

ID - No more coyotes, thank goodenss!!! I have seen a big painted turtle while I was walking past a retention area. It was on the edge of the street, and I felt really bad for it (because there's no way it could get up the curb). So when I went to work, I wanted to go throw it in the grass, and it was gone  So, I'm hoping it found it's way back to where it was going.
**I bet that Great Dane has a big bark - that would be annoying when it happens all day:headache:

Well, I best get ready for the zoo - have a good day today!!

The plumbers came and replaced the pipes with the correct material...for $345! The home warranty wouldn't cover it all, only the leaking parts, since it was preexisting!!! Like I said, why on earth did we pay for a home inspection!!! Darn..there went some of my honeymoon spending money!
slo- Have fun at Lincoln PArk Zoo. I can't remeber the last time I've been there. We usually had aps to Brookfield.
id- Hope your girls have been enjoying camp. Mine are in a one day a week daycamp. They have still been swimming, but they do it first thing in the morning and it has been cold! They love to swim, though, and would do it until their lips are blue and they are shivering! Annoying dog- We have one down a few houses we call "barkley". We his some kind of mutt with a really sharp, harsh bark. So annoying!
dgal- I want a pool! We always had when growing up and I'd love to get one, but we don't plan on staying here long term (3 bedrooms+US+THE 2 KIDS=nor room for a baby someday). Oneday, though!

Better get ds out of the shower. He is "relaxing".

paint ~ I would see about making the inspector take some responsibility for his missing it.

Slo ~ still no word on the dog

Hi gang! I have been reading your posts but haven't had a chance to post this week. I really need to work when I am at work and not dream of Disney.

slo - ds is 11 and goes to day camp at the YMCA. He will go next year, too. Then I think he will volunteer for a couple of summers until he is old enough to get a job. At least that is my plan for him! Today the 7th and 8th graders are going to Navy Pier. Fun! Have fund at Lincoln Park Zoo. I haven't been there in years.

Paint - bummer on the house! At least you are safe and it is repaired.

Piglet - Good luck on finding the pup! They looked adorable!

Everyobdy else - Hi! Have a grea day!

DS had a root canal yesterday. He was a trooper. Remind your kiddos not to chew on their pens while in school. He cracked his tooth that way!

Have a beautiful day!
Lori

oh paint, that is awful that the home inspector missed that leak.

you should tell him you want a partial refund for the money it has cost you.
'
i would also contact the BBB and do the paper work so it goes on record.
he might return your money if you did that.

i'm sure he wants to stay in good standing in the community.

We had such a phenomenal day yesterday!!!!
The weather was awesome :sunny:, the zoo wasn't to uncomfortably crowded, the animals were the most active that I have ever seen them, and the traffic in the city was dealable. I was so happy with our day!!!! :goodvibes

Today the new siding is getting started on our house. I'm excited to see our houses new look. We have cedar siding right now, and it stinks!!! It holds boxelder bugs and the woodpeckers love to come peck at the house. It has so many holes - it's crazy!!!!! I can hardly wait to have that stop when the aluminum siding is put on.

paint - I can't believe you have to pay all that:eek: I'm so sorry to hear that

piglet - I"m sorry there is still no word on the dog

momto1 - I feel so bad that your DS had to have a root canal :( Thanks for the tip on the pen chewing - I didn't know that could happen. I don't chew on pens, but it still good to know!!!!

Mac - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and workout this morning (I didn't yesterday, but I walked alot and paddleboated for a 1/2 hour, so I got some exercise ;) )
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: This is going to be a quick post but wanted to say hello to everyone! Definitely didn't want to get out of bed this morning! But alas, i did and now i'm here at work. it is really slow and boring :confused3 My pattern for the bags i'm making was delivered to mike's home yesterday! i'm super excited to finally start doing something for the wedding! :cool1: all i need now is to find a fabric i like! well, i'm off! have a good day everyone! :flower3:

Hi gang! Another beautiful day. If only I didn't have to work.

Slo - I KNOW about those pesky woodpeckers. We have cedar siding, too, and they seem to like the wall by our heads while sleeping in the early mornings. Enjoy your new siding! What color are you getting?

Museum of Science and Industry has lots of free events this week to celebrate their 75th birthday. I wish I could make it in but not this weekend.

Can you believe I still have some flowers to plant in my pots? It is almost the end of June and my pots are naked! Thank goodness there are still garden centers open with flowers!

Better get to work. It should be a busy day.
Lori

Howdy y'al!!!!

Hope everyone has checked out the Wall.E meet thread!! :thumbsup2
Even though the poll closed, earlier than I wished, please post what dates you can go! A date will be choosen soon!!! :goodvibes

Went to a Joliet Jackhammers game again on Tuesday. And they lost....again! :( My neighbor is hosting 2 of the out of state players that joined the team this season. They are young and easy on the eyes! ;) You get the picture! The other day one of them walked into the garage door as it was closing and whacked his head!!! Maybe that's why they lost on Friday too!!! :rotfl:

Going to MSI tomorrow with the kids. We were to go today but I had a lot of other things to get caught up on.

slo Glad to hear the zoo was fun!! I haven't been to Lincoln Park zoo since I was a kid!
We're doing the same as you, taking our lunch with us to MSI! :thumbsup2
How long will it take for the siding to be done?

momto1 Hope your son is doing well after having his root canal. ::yes::

Hersey Heaven on Seven is not fancy, if that's what you were thinking. It's totally laid back. New Orleans Mardi Gras style!! Lots of music and talking. Sign up for their email to get a 10% off coupon!!! I still have mine to use!
The hotel is right off of I-88 so they get a lot of out of towners. It's a huge hotel for being in a suburb. And oh yeah, Lisle is a hotbed of crazies!!!

irish dancer GS camp is this coming week for my DD. What level is your DD? My DD is Junior first year.

paint Sounds like your son 'relaxes' in the shower just like my DD. This is why we put in two 50 gallon water heaters!!! :headache:
I would see if a lawyer can put the screws to your home inspector for the lack of a proper inspection.

mac YO! :hippie:

piget Any word on the dog yet??

Ok got to run!!!!

Wall.E meet!!!!!!! Be there!!!

WooHoo - I love Fridays!!!! :cool1:

DG - Have fun getting started with your weddings bags :)

Mac - :wave2:

momto1 - I'm glad I'm not the only one that's been bothered by woodpeckers. When they start pecking, it kinda startles ya because you're not expecting it
**The color of my siding is kinda like a putty/beige. The brick on the house is a very neutral color like this, and my roof is a rusty orange (we bought it like that, and it's a newer roof), so we very limited on what color siding we could choose from.

Bunchkin - Have fun at the museum today
**I don't know how long the siding is going to take:confused: They got one side of the house torn off and insulation put up yesterday - so I don't know if that's any indication with how long it will take:confused: I don't even know if they work over the weekend:confused: I better ask that today :) The only thing that I'm really concerned about is how long the new windows are going to take, because I have to be home for that - everything else they can do while I'm at work:thumbsup2

Well, I gotta go and get out walking this morning
Have a good day today everyone!!

Slo Of course your house is probably way bigger than my little place. Windows go in pretty fast unless you have my house of surprises. The only windows that really gave them problesm was my bay in the front of my house. They did six windows in less than a day with 2 guys. You will love the difference the new windows make.

Bunchy have fun at the museum today.

We may go to Swedish days this weekend in Geneva it all depends how much work I get done. All of a sudden time is flying and I still have way too much to do. I still have lots of yardwork to do. Where are the house elves when you need them?

Hi guys! TGIF!!!! What a weather week, so beautiful! I can't believe another week has past, yikes summer is going fast.

We have our Family Picnic for my side of the family Sunday, I'm so happy they are forecasting good weather. My oldest bro came in from Wash state so all 9 of us will be there, this rarely happens. My DBro used to be in the Navy as a submarine commander so he wasn't in the midwest much  .

slo - so glad you had a good day at Lincoln Park Zoo, I haven't been there in years. We're Brookfield Zoo members so that is where we always end up.
*I was just telling DH that we will probably need new siding soon, not looking forward to that expense  .

momto1 - yikes, I hope your son's tooth feels better soon!

Bunchkin - youngest DD is first year brownie and oldest DD is 2nd year junior. They've had a really fun week. DD11 had an overnight at camp last night, I can't wait to hear about it this afternoon.
*I hope you have a great day at MSI, so wish we could have gone one day this week.

mac - I saw you post on another thread about your flight changes/cancellations for your Oct trip. What flight were you on? We're on United too and so far only the time on our flight down has changed by less than 30min.

I've got to get my laundry load in and shower so I'd better get off my duff. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Friday Everyone! :flower3: its another beautiful day in the neighborhood! i'm excited for the weekend! it's been a long week! sorry this is just a quick hello, gotta do some work! :confused3

Hi all-
Just a quick fly by...
Just saying goodbye, leaving tomorrow for WDW/ UO! :cool1:
Can't believe how time flies so quickly!
I think Tiggerrn left already for DL, so hope she is having a good time, too!

I'll have to see when the Wall E meet is when I get back.

united has cancelled all of their flights for 7:45pm ....#1519 no longer exists.

and they are closing out 50% of their evening flights from ord to vegas now.

flight # 1518 is the morning flight and that was changed from 7:30 to 8:00 am back in march.

it is 1519 that really bothers me.
the last direct flight out from mco is now 5:05.

what are your dates?
which flight numbers are you using?

i called united twice and had them fix my eticket.
when they cancelled flight 1519 in may, they put me on a flight to conneticut at 6:30 and from there a layover and into ohare at 11:30 pm.

they changed me to the 5:00 non stop flight.
only 1 seat left on that one.
was only 2 seats available when i switched to it.

because of the time difference change, they mailed me a $50 voucher for a future flight.

of course you have to book with an agent on the phone to use a voucher and there is an additional charge to use an agent.

they get you coming and going.....
