Wow Paint. Your trip to the exotic place of.....Peoria.......sounded a lot of fun. Truly you made the most of your time there.

The avatar is nice and once again I wish both you and your dh happiness and joy in your new life together.

well said.. I second that... sounds like the trip was a great success.. :thumbsup2

Good morning!

I hope everyone is ok after the storms last night. We only had rain here.

geffric Your poor DH what sacifices he makes. The movies :rolleyes1
I bet he would have really grumbled if he was out of shorts or food. It can be summed up in one word MEN :rotfl:

amazing.. isn't it..:rolleyes1

OMG! That rain today was scary. I was on 355 heading to Streamwood when it hit. Had to pull off to the shoulder (along with many others) it was that bad. I could not see the road in front of me at times.

Glad you are ok and pulled over.. it did come down in buckets.. it was so dark and sheets of water just poured down..
Hope everyone is okay..

I was out and about and just made it back before the storm hit.. Eric was at Fox paintball ( near Aurora) and got drenched..

When the storm hit today, it was just rain.

The one a few days ago was fun though. I had just arrived at work when a few minutes later, the rain and wind got sooo bad you couldn't see the cars right outside the windows in the parking lot. It literally looked like we were under a waterfall. One of my coworker was so scared of the wind, rain, and continuous lightning and thunder that she was crying. We were all giving her our support and letting her know it would be okay. Of course, once it cleared up, we were extremely busy.

Paint
Congrats hope you enjoy. Remember the room have AC after all it is a honeymoon.:thumbsup2

Hi guys! Wow, what a crazy weather weekend we've had. Thankfully we've had just rain, not too bad. I hope all our Chicago homies are OK! Looks like things are going to settle down after tonight.

paint - your weekend sounds wonderful. You certainly made the most of Peoria!

slo - I hope you and DH had a nice weekend in the city!

Bunchkin - where are you?? Hope all is OK.

mac - thanks for the show listings, seen all of them though darn it ;) .

Will be a busy week for me, I'll have my sister's 3 kids for three days this week. I've gone from having just her 2yr old during the day to having 6 kids (my 3 + her 3) :faint: . At least my walking group changes to "summer" hours, we'll meet at 6a rather than 5:30a  .

Hope everyone stays dry tonight! Have a great week!

Hello everyone!

Quick, late night, early morning fly-by for me.

Couldn't resist replying to all the great news! :cool1: A WEDDING :bride: , an Anniversary :lovestruc and, not-so-great abcess - sorry about that. :worried: (paint-I sent a PM asking for the PW, if that's ok, I'd love to see your pics!)

Where IS bunchkin?? :worried:

Piglet, there's that podcast meet but, I think a Wall-E meet for 'regular' DISers would be GREAT!!! :thumbsup2 BTW Kirsten, because of your Meet idea, we saw Jersey Boys last weekend (LOVED IT  ) and went to Ed Debevic's after the show because YOU put the idea in my head! ::yes:: Wasn't a MEET but, it was fun. :)

More storms headed thru here tonight but, it sounds quiet now.

Listening to my Jersey Boys CD now. :lovestruc LOVE IT!!! Chicago cast is BETTER tho!!! :thumbsup2

Kelly has about 7 more softball games to finish this month (and maybe 2 more to make up for the RAIN OUTS!), and she starts ice skating again every Monday starting today. Father's Day, American Girl day (to see Kit movie) with DSIL and DNiece and, a couple days at Grand Bear Resort round out our OUT OF SCHOOL month! Not sure when we'll get Kiddieland and Great America IN this summer! 3 Wrigley trips in July, and VBS and, ice skating. At least it's COLD in the rink! LOL

On a sad note, we attended a wake this past week for one of Kelly's softball coaches. :( He passed away very suddenly at 43 (younger than me!), massive heart attack. His daughter pitches on Kelly's team. It's been pretty sad this week.

Otherwise, things are good here. Glad to catch up, even tho briefly, with ALL OF YOU!!! :goodvibes

I'll be back!!

Kevin and I had a fabulous anniversary weekend!!!!! :goodvibes

We went to downtown Chicago early, by about 1pm, and we walked around and shopped until approx. 3:30pm (got the kids some new things to wear at TDS:) ). We then checked into our hotel room at The Hyatt Regency and we had an awesome room on the 25th floor - it overlooked The Chicago River and we had a direct look at The John Hancock building. We rushed to change and freshen up because we had to get to our dinner reservations at The Chicago Chop House. After dinner, we took a cab to go see Blue Man Group, adn the show was fantanstic!!!! If you've never seen Blue Man Group, I would strongly recommend it!!!! :thumbsup2 After dinner we went back to our hotel, and walked around outside down Michigan Avenue for awhile, and then came back to the hotel for a midnight dessert treat :goodvibes It was a great day!!!!!:goodvibes

Then Sunday, we tried to sleep in, but the people next to us were allowing their children to scream and shreek as loud as they could - it woke us up at 8:30am:mad: The screaming went on and on and on and finally 15 minutes later I called the front desk and requested that they call the room and tell the people to control their children, but by this time, we were already up - so frustrating!!!!:headache: I couldn't believe those parents allowed that - I don't allow that kind of behavior in my home, let alone a hotel where others would be affected by it - it's the adults I blame, not the kids:mad:

So, after that, we got ready and went to breakfast in the hotel - it was a great buffet!!!!:thumbsup2 Then we went to The Chicago History Museum - it was very interesting!!!! I love going to museums, and I love taking my time and reading as much as I can - I learned some things yesterday that I didn't know. After that we headed back home to go have dinner at our inlaws and then take the girls home. It was very very nice weekend, and it was great to get away for awhile:goodvibes

geffric - Is Geoff doing this through scouts? I hope he had good weather :wizard:

HERSEY - Wow, I can't believe Alex is as tall as you  I haven't seen him in almost a year - I bet I will be surprised the next I do see him.

Rose - Stephanie is very picky about her clothes too. The days of me telling her what to wear are over :(

paint - How was your overnight trip???
**Bunchkin was planning a Wall-E Meet, but I'm not sure if she has time now, with her moving. We'll have to see what she says the next time she comes back on.
**I love your new avatar!!!!:goodvibes
**I just read about your weekend - sounds like you had a great time!!!!!:goodvibes I had Key Lime Pie for dessert to this weekend :)

piget - I"m sorry the meet didn't work out:( . I really want to do a meet, but finding time is what's hard. We definitly all have to work together to do something more sooner than later.

ffpm - :welcome:
Thanks for coming by - we would love you to come visit often!!!!

Peter - :wave2:

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!!!:) How's your son feeling????

ID - Good luck with watching the kids - I hope it all goes smoothly :wizard:

Kim - Hi there!!! :wave2: It's always so good to see you!!!!! That's terrible about Kelly's coach:( How did she handle it? Stephanie doesn't do well with death - it really upsets her.

To answer many's question about Bunchkin - she's fine, and I'm sure she'll be happy to see that many are asking about her. She's been very busy with packing, and doing what she needs to do to get her house sold. She has not been online much, so she's not avoiding us, she just doesn't have time right now. I'm sure she'll be back soon to let us know how everything is going with her.

Well, I"m off to workout, and I need to workout alot, I ate way to much this weekend!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning all,

Just a quick run by. We got home yesterday afternoon to tons of rain.

The trip was great and I will start my trip report tonight. I just loaded my pics into the computer but I have to go back to work today...yuck!

Have a great day!

Morning all!!
Last day of school here.:cool1:
Kids are home at 11. Which means I have 2+ hours to clean up a little before they come in and dump the ol' backpacks of all the JUNK they've collected in their desk for the year.:rotfl:
Happy Anniversaries to those I missed. Happy Birthdays to any missed or upcoming.
KimRaye, so sorry to hear of your DD loss. That is hard to explain to kids.
Everyone gearing up for vacations, I hope you all have a great time and enjoy yourselves.
I have got to get busy myself getting things ready. We leave in a week and I have nothing done. I still have to go through kids' drawers to see what they have that will fit.:rolleyes1
We survived the storms. Actually, DH and I were outside Saturday watching the weather move just to the north and west of us. Just a couple miles either direction from us was hit by the tornadoes. I have always said (since we started tearing up the house and remodeling) that every house on this block could get wiped out and ours would still be standing. That is until we get the last bit finished. Then that is when something will happen.
Well, I had better get busy while I still have a last free morning. Have a good day all!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: what a stormy weekend! I finally started my Disney Vacation Scrapbook! Only got a page done, but it is finally started! Didn't do much else... relaxed, cleaned the house a bit... I don't know if I have mentioned this but I withdrew from school :confused3 it wasn't that I didn't like my classes, because I did. I didn't like the school, in general. There were a lot of things I didn't like in how they ran the school. I, unfortunately still have to pay for the summer semester, and they had to return money to the loan people so now... i have to pay a ton of money just to withdraw... bah, whatever, they have so many hidden fees at that school. oh well, it will save me money in the long run... I'm still considering looking for a new school but haven't found one that has an evening/weekend program. until i do, i will enjoy my summer and wedding planning and all the other greatness summer brings! :goodvibes

hope everyone is doing well and has no significant damage to their homes after the storms! Stay Dry!!! :wizard:

Paint - Your wedding was beautiful! I'm glad it went so well. :goodvibes

And I love how you just got married, and in your Peoria report, all the  smilies are about food! ;) :rotfl2:

Disneynut - I'm glad you had a great trip! I can't wait to hear about it!

OMG! I just opened up at bottle of Coke Zero, and it totally fizzed up on me! :scared1: I barely got it open in time, and then I couldn't quite get it over the trash can in time. :sad2: I'm just lucky that I didn't get it all over my computer! It wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Hi everyone!!!!

Sorry to have been MIA for a while. But I appreaciate being missed by some of you! :goodvibes
Like slo mentioned, we've been packing things up in boxes and putting them in the basement - to make the house look neater. ;) And we've been doing painting too, trying to neutralize everything as the kid's rooms and their bathroom had very colorful walls.:) We just had an open house yesterday, but the storms kept people away. There has been some interest in our house, just nothing solid yet.
More open houses are in the works for June and July so we'll see what happens.

Been really busy with the kids too.
Went to a huge open house Sat that had a Tastefully Simple rep, Discovery Toys rep, Avon rep, a jewelry rep, a candle rep, and Noah's Ark stuffed toys. Spent a little more then I planned, but got lots of good stuff! ::yes::
Kids start Karate next week through the park district. They are so excited!

Anyone going to any of the museums for free week coming up? I'd be willing to meet up with DISers that might go!:thumbsup2

Kim Glad to hear Jersey Boys was good!!! ::yes:: I sooo want to go!
Just went to Wicked again this past Thurs. with the Girl Scouts from our service unit. It was awesome....again!
Sorry to hear Kelly's coach has passed. That is such a young age. :(
Sounds like you'll have a busy summer.

Glad you hear your weekend went wonderfully!!! SOunds like a great time!
I've been wanting to go to Blue Man forever!!!!!!!! :hyper:
Thanks for letting everyone know I've been busy!

piglet Glad to hear your air got fixed!!!!
DD had a sleepover on Friday and one of the girls that came over had no air at her house and she was SOOOOOO happy to be sleeping at our house!!

disneygal HOpe your tootsies are feeling better.

Tiggerrn Sorry to hear your house was broken into and your purse was taken. How aweful!!!!
I hope you're keeping those windows closed on the first floor.
Got the house clean before the kids came home?

disneynut Glad your trip was great!!! Can't wait to read about it!!

momto1 Happy anniversary to you and your DH!!!! :goodvibes

mac Lots of dentists do payment plans...keep looking. I know several down here that does but that's way too far of a drive for you guys.

geffric Go on strike!!! :thumbsup2 Like hersey said, your DH will run out of food and clothes. You can re-train an old dog!!! ::yes::

I'll start a Wall.E meet thread this week and put a link here!!!! We'll pick a day first and then go from there! Everyone ok with meeting at Yorktown?

What days and museums are free? I am always looking for things to keep the kids occupied, so maybe I will take them there.

ETA ~ I see now that MSI is free most of next week. Let me talk to Dewain and see if he can get a day off to go too.

OK, I was just talking to Kevin to see if he would like to go or not. He is very excited but also said something that shocked me. He wants to know if I can take him to the Art Institute. Dewain went with me a few times, but really does not enjoy it, and I get bored going by myself. I am real excited about getting to go with Kevin.

Bunchkin I can't imagine your house messy. I heard a long time ago if you bake cookies when there is a open house it does two things. Makes the house smell good and people can invision themselves cooking there too.:thumbsup2 Good luck I hope someone scoops it up soon.

Paint We went to exotic Downers Grove overlooking 355. Can't get more romantic than that.:lmao: Just remember it is all in the companty :lovestruc

Kim Glad you stopped by. Do you ever just sit still?:faint:

i'm still waiting for you.
i thought you said you were coming back kim.
MAC, I AM BACK! LOL :rotfl2:

SLO, glad your weekend went well, besides the unruly kids! How RUDE! Kelly has been to 2 wakes this past month and, we just learned that a HS music teacher that comes to her school for lessons also passed away. She was saddened. I tried to explain, he was in hospice for a few weeks. Still, she's sad. OK tho, I guess. :worried:

BUNCHY is BACK!!! :goodvibes Hi Nicole!! Yorktown is FINE with us! Let us know! :thumbsup2 GO TO SEE JERSEY BOYS!!! I have told everyone, IF YOU THINK you'd like to see it then, you'll love it!!! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :cool1: Listening to my CD again, right now!

PAINT, thank you. ;) Gonna check those pics now.

HERSEY - YES! I sit still plenty, too plenty, on this 'puter! :rotfl:

HI ALL!!!!

:grouphug:

PAINT! AWESOME, beautiful pics of the wedding, people, FAMILY! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
Thank you for sharing!

Many, many years of Happiness!! :cloud9:

:surfweb:

Are any of you watching The Next Food Network Star on The Food Network. I started watching this show last week, and I really like it :thumbsup2 It's kind of like The Apprentice but with food. Stephanie and I are watching it together, and she really enjoys it too ::yes::

Disneynut - Welcome home!!!! I can hardly wait to hear about your trip!!!!!:)

Tiiiiiggggerrnnn - I forgot that you have a trip coming up. I bet you are getting excited:banana:

DG - I"m sorry about the school being bad and that you lost your money:( I hope you are able to find another school soon, so you can continue with your education:wizard:

Leigh - I hate it when soda does that  I usually end up wearing it all over my pants:headache:

Bunchkin - Your welcome!!!!
**I'm sorry your open house was such a nasty day :( Hopefully the other open house days will have better weather so more people will come:wizard:
**Stephanie just asked me the other day if we were going to get together with DIS people to see Wall-E. She said she really enjoyed the Cars Meet, which seems like yesterday, but it was basically 2 years ago:eek: Where does the time go!!!!!

piglet too - I'm the opposite of you, I woud like to go to The Art Institue alone so I can take my time. That's great that Kevin wants to go - have fun with him!!!!:goodvibes

HERSEY - :wave2:

Kim - Poor Kelly that she's had to deal with so much death this year :( Hugs to her!!!!

Paint - I love love love the wedding photos!!!!! :goodvibes I would want to buy them all if I were you!!!!

Well, I gotta run - have a good day today everyone!!!
