Hi guys! DH made it home on-time last night  . We were all so happy to see him. DDs had a 1/2 day of school today so we had lunch at Red Robin with DH - yummm!

My mom's coumadin levels were 2.8 :thumbsup2 , great news.

momto1 - sorry DSs track meet was cancelled, what a bummer. DDs qualifing meet is tomorrow, DH is taking her.

paint - hopefully the wedding nightmares will be kept to a minimum, just know that almost everyone has them I think. I sure did! ;)

disneynut - so sorry to hear about the problem with your MIL. to you and DS. I hope your father will talk to your step-mom and that you can keep some sort of a relationship. What is it about families that they can create so much havoc :sad2: . I agree with piglet, you might want to let school know as it may linger with him and maybe they can help with some guidance.

disneygal - :cheer2: :cheer2: congrats on the Disney wedding! All that I've seen on TV look amazing. Will be in hearing about the planning and details if you'd like to share with us.

slo - how's the walking coming? I didn't get a full week in this week with DH out of town and the weather. I wish it would warm up in the mornings, it was quite chilly this morning.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

:surfweb:

I'm sorry this going to be a very quick post this morning. I have my glucose intolerance test at 8am, and before that I have to take the girls to my inlaws - so I don't have a lot of time to post this morning, but I did read everyone's posts :)

The one person I wanted to address is Disneynut
I am so sorry to hear about what is going on in your family  I don't have any advice, because I've never gone through something like this. But I wanted to offer my hugs  and to let you know that we are always here for you whenever you need to talk. Take care, and God Bless!!!!! :grouphug:

Oh....one other person is DG
:cheer2: A DISNEY WEDDING - WOO HOO!!!!!!:cheer2:
I'm so excited for you!!!! I'm looking forward to hearing about the detail as you plan your magificent day!!!! Good luck with everything - how fun!!!! :goodvibes

Well, I gotta go jump in the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning, all! Took the kids to Dollar Tree so they could buy me some Mother's Day gifts. I told them to stay together as I lingered near the front. Not 5 minutes later, I hear them fighting from the back of the store! Ahhh...the joys of Motherhood. DS was telling DD she was going over her $5! Then, went to teacher Appreciation week happy hour with some of Df's coworkers. That was pretty fun, putting faces with names. Then, df and I walked to a nearby restaurant and ate. They had a live Jimmy Buffet style band, so that was nice. Then we went to bed by 9! Df's not feeling well, so I told him better get it out of his system by the end of this month!
Slo- Hope your test goes well and you get some answers. Is it similar to the one they do when pregnant?
DGal- Woohoo! are we all invited?!?
ID- I hate exercising outside. I am a weather wimp. It has to be just right! I did take the dog on two walks earlier in the week, but then it got too cold for me!
momto- Have agreat weekend. Sounds busy!

Better get some stuff done. I work tonight and it is grad night at the local U. Busy, busy! Need the tips!

Good morning! It looks like it going to be a beautiful day.

Disneynut I'm sorry your MIL is being so horrible toward your son. Things said in anger should alway be kept unsaid. She need to understand your son can't control much of what he is going through. It comes with time, treatment and much patience. I hope your dad can referee this situation before it get more out of control.

disneygal922 Wow a disney wedding We want pictures.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

I feel so tired this morning. I have not been getting a good night's sleep, which seems to be happening regularly now. :sad2:

Today the kids want to go to the historical museum that is in our town. It sounds really neat. There is also a Route 66 welcome center there too. I had no idea these places even exist! I feel like I've had my head in the sand since we've lived in this area....for almost 10 years!!

slo Hope the test results turn out for the good!! :goodvibes
Do your kids like spaghetti sauce on their pasta? My kids like NO sauce! So I put some butter on it and parmasean cheese.

paint I hope that your boss lets you know what's going on with the restaurant!! At least you could prepare yourself and look for another job.
Don't fret over the nightmares! It's normal. :goodvibes
Your DF's salad making sound very similar to my DH's!!! Men!!!
Can you tell me if you've ever been to Wildlife Prarie State Park? We saw this on the 'Wild in Chicago' show on PBS and it looked so neat. And have you been on one of the paddle boat rides? :) :) Hope you don't mind me picking your brain!! :)

disneynut So sorry to hear what happened between your son and grandmother. No one deserves that type of treatment. I sure do hope that something can be worked out. Maybe after she's had time to calm down you all can sit down and talk.

disneygal That's great that you might have a Disney wedding!!! Remember that no matter what you do, you will never please everyone! And that's fine!!!! It's not THEIR wedding!!! :thumbsup2 And you can always have a reception when you get back. DH and I did that after we came back from getting married in Vegas. It worked out wonderfully.

irish dancer Good to hear your DH is home! I hope you can get some sleep in now!!! :) Good news about your mom!!!! :goodvibes

geffric Clapton sounds great!!! Lucky you!! :)

momto1 Hope you have a good BBQ tomorrow! :)

Hi to everyone else!!! :wave2:

Thank you all again for your words of encouragement. I was quite angry yesterday and today an accepting it. We are looking to move out of Naperville so we will be looking for new apartments over the next week or so. I work in Wheaton so it looks like a great place to start.

I feel time away will be the best part but this will not be easily forgotten. My DS is now having dreams of family leaving him. We saw his therpist last night and DS is feeling a bit better today. I just hope we can get back to normal life soon.

On a happier note we leave in 20 days for Disneyland. We are so excited. Plan to spend 5-6 days at Disneyland and a few days seeing the sights and the beach.

In case I do not get on tomorrow, Everyone have a great Mother's Day. :flower3:

Bunchkin- Hmm..what is this historical place you're going to? I lived in the same area for a long time, and I have no idea what you are talking about!
Wildlife Prairie Park is pretty neat. It is very, bery wooded, so bring bug repellant and very comfy shoes- you will do tons of walking. It is cool to see the animals in their natural habitats. They have playgrounds and picnic areas, too, and a little museum type place. It has been a while since I've been, but it was fun. I know they have some cool lodging if you want to spen the night. You should make it a weekend and swing by Bloomington?Normal's children's museum. It is a lot of fun.

Hi guys!

slo - I hope the glucose test went well. I had to do the 3hr test with all of my kids - yuck!

paint - hope you get lots of tips $$$ tonight!

Bunchkin - the historical museum sounds fun.
*DD11 and I are the only ones that like sauce, the others just want butter  .

Disneynut -  just a few more hugs for you and DS. Hopefully the trip to Disneyland will help get everyones minds off things.

:wave2: - to everyone else!!

Well, my uneventful day with very little scheduled was spend mostly in the ER. I got a call from my DSis at around noon that our mom had fallen down the stairs and was taken by ambulance to the ER. She was heading back upstairs to take a nap when her knee gave out or she lost her balance and fell backward down 2 stairs. She hit her head on the radiator and cut it. Well, since she's on coumadin she is supposed to be very careful about falling and especially head injuries. She managed to get herself to the front door and the workmen that were building her new porch called 911. The xrays and cat scan all came back normal thank God. She has 3 staples in her head and a nasty bruise on her arm.

I tried convincing her that it was time to set-up a bed on the 1st floor so she wouldn't have to do the stairs. She wasn't the slightest bit interested, she is so stubborn! DBro and DSis are talking a home of some sort, I laughed - good luck with that  . She is 80 now and is really aging quickly, I often look at her hobbling along and think how quickly it seems that she's gotten 'old'. It makes me think about my old age.

DD11 got an invitation in the mail today to participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. this fall. I guess she was nominated by her flute/band teacher at school. It is a 6 day conference in Wash D.C., she would travel there alone and they provide the chaperones. The hitch is it is $1930.00 not including airfare :scared: . DH is going to do some research on this. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Well, time to get the kiddos in bed. If I don't get on until later tomorrow Happy Mother's Day to everyone!! :flower3:

Boy is it raining. I hope everyone stays dry today. I'm glad the grass got cut yesterday.

irish dancer I hope your Mom is not to sore today. Napping on the couch might be a better idea for a while.

Slo Hope your test yesterday brings you some answers.

Have a great Mom's day everyone.

I hope all of you that are Mother's, Step-Mothers, Aunts, Grandmas, Godmothers and everything else has a fantastic day today!!!!! :flower2:

Today will be a nice day here, even though the weather is crappy :umbrella: My mom is going to church with us this morning, and then she is getting KFC, my dad, and then coming over to eat. My brother and SIL both have to work, but my brother will come a little later in the day.

We actually started Mother's Day on Friday night. Kevin is never home this weekend (he's at the Indy Motor Speedway), so I got my gifts on Friday night. I got a new Big Fig and (2) new Disney Precious Moments - I loved my gifts!!!!:goodvibes Then last night the girls and I took my mom out for dinner and a movie for Mother's Day - it was a nice time!!!! :goodvibes

The blood test yesterday went well. The nurses said that I have low blood sugar, but the doctor will analyze everything and let me know what is going on. All I know, is that awful drink gave me a headache yesterday, so I still know that I can't have sugars w/o feeling like garbage. So, I'm still going to have to really monitor my food

paint - Yes, the test was just like the one you take when you are pregnant, except this one was 3 hours, and they took your blood and urine approx every 1/2 hour. The blood they took was by a finger prick, instead of a needle, so that was nice, because getting stuck with a needle every 1/2 hour would have not been fun:sad2:

HERSEY - What are you and Alex doing today?

Bunchkin - How was the museum yesterday?
**The kids do like sauce on their pasta ::yes:: Speaking of sauce - do you every shop at Aldis? I do sometimes, and for the first time I tried their sauce, and it was great!!!!! :thumbsup2 What's even better, is I paid only 99 cents of it - you can't beat that!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Disneynut - Good luck with your decision to move:wizard: In the meantime, have fun planning and preparing for your upcoming trip. Try to really talk up the trip to your son to help him take his mind off of what happened with the family. I pray everything gets better soon for you!!!!

Mac - Are you doing anything with your boys today?

ID - I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your mom :guilty: I will keep her in my prayers that she will heal quickly, and that she'll have no more nasty falls:angel: Your Sister may have a good point to try and convince her to live somewhere safer. She probably doesn't need a nursing home, but an assisted living place would probably be perfect for her!!!! Kevin's grandma lived in one for a short while, and it was really nice. She had a little kitchen, with a fridge and microwave, but no oven, which was fine, because she ate in a main dining room with other seniors. Basically, she had a lovely little apartment - very nice!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I better go get ready for church, and eat some breakfast.
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Well, I did make lots of tips last night, but the bad news is...they are closing. I asked the owner to be straight with me. They don't know when, but at the latest, 6/1. So it looks like I need to look for a new job! I feel really bad for them though. They are such a nice family and I love working there.
ID- My Gma is 89 and has been going down hill rapidly the last few years. She fell and broke her shoulder and had to go to a rehab place. She has recently gone from walker to wheelchair. My gpa gets around, though, but can't really care for her. they have in home care, which is wildly expensive. Everyone wants them to go to assissted living, but they don't want to give up their independance. It is very sad.
Slo- Ouch! Every half hour?!? That drink is so nasty, too. After I had it, I didn't make it far...it came back up in the garbage can just outside the dr.'s office!
Happy Mother's Day, everyone!:goodvibes

Hi all-
Haven't been here in awhile, but want to wish all of us moms here a Happy Mother's Day!! :flower2: :rose: :butterfly :daisy: :flower1: :flower3:

Disneynut- :grouphug: Hope all goes well with you and your DS

Slo- :grouphug: for your blood tests.

Geffric- glad you got to see Clapton :thumbsup2
Can you PM me the pic of Geoff as an Eagle Scout, when you have a chance? I missed the original pic you had here a few weeks ago. Thanks!

Paint- hope all is going well with your wedding planning :) Wow, I didn't realize your wedding is coming up really soon!

:grouphug: to all that need hugs.

Congrats to all that have congratulations :cheer2:

Hi to all :wave2:

My kids had a good birthday last month. Just did something small this yr for their b-days.
My DH is going to have cataract surgery on Thurs. He has really bad cataracts in his left eye.

Have a good day everyone!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers! :)

Slo,
I had to do that test years ago. All that sugar made me nausious when I drank it.

Hope everone is doing well. I do read the thread daily, but don't find time to post often.

Disneynut I'm sorry your MIL is being so horrible toward your son. Things said in anger should alway be kept unsaid. She need to understand your son can't control much of what he is going through.
