Thanks everyone for the kind words :goodvibes

I'm so happy to have found the thread! I logged in yesterday for the first time in months and there were no updates to most of my threads and I thought "how can that be! Oh my!" and one of my friends from the ladies thread told me what happened

Yes, Mac, I guess you could say the person in the pic is someone special :rolleyes1 :teeth:

I hope everyone is staying warm!! It's nuts out there! :scared1: My garage door was frozen this morning (with manual nudging it would open) but I was so tempted to use it as an excuse to call in sick and go back to my warm bed :rotfl:

Hi Jedi!
So nice to see you again!
I have been thinking about you the past week or so. Glad you are doing well.

Good Evening everyone. Glad hump day is over and the weekend is close at hand.

Have a good night and I will see you tomorrow.

Slo
I have inherited(sp) my brothers dog. When my mom passed away 2 years ago he had to move to an apartment. He rescued the dog from some rowdy kids who had her in a pillow case and were about to set her on fire. :scared1: :scared1: Of couse the kids ran away and my brother thinks its because she is not mean or aggressive in any way. She is a pitbull mix by the way and snoring right now next to me.

I am so glad today is over its been a long day. I left my house at 7:05 and got to work at 8:40. My normal 40 min drive turned into and hour and 35 mins.

Have a great night all.

Hi gang!

Leigh - I heard about that train accident. How scary! WBBM had a news reporter riding that train going home who was then reporting in to WBBM. I bet you were glad to finally get home.

School was on as usual today. But...what about Friday. I heard 3 -6 more inches coming our way Thursday night to Friday am. Sounds like a fun Friday morning rush hour, huh? DS asked me what I would do if it snowed in Disney when we are there in March. I can guarantee you I would CRY!

DH is just getting home from a meeting in Lombard. Guess I will need to recap with him how his evening went.

2 more work days this week. Then the weekend. Come on weekend!
Lori

I just wanted to say that I was on one of the trains that hit the car on Monday! I was on the second train, in the first passenger car. If you see the video, that was the one where there was a huge fireball at impact!

Glad everyone was safe, Leigh. A coworker was telling me today that a friend of his was onboard also and that they were stopped for three hours.

Considering how badly the whole thing could have turned out, I'm thinking it's pretty darned amazing that no one was hurt in the whole affair.

Leigh I'm glad you weren't hurt. In all the years I took the train the only thing that ever happened was 1 guy had a heart attack.

Jedi Glad you stopping by again.

I can't believe we are in for more storms. I still haven't recovered from yesterday. It was mighty slippery in the morning.

I hit enter before I was done :confused3

Bunchkin Sorry you got hit with that flu bug:sick: Hope you kept the bug to yourself sick husbands are not fun:rolleyes1

Slo I hope you had some traffic in your store yesterday.

Can you believe we are getting more snow?!?!
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

DS - Good luck with working towards your PhD :wizard:
It's so nice to know we will have a doctor in the house :goodvibes

Leigh - I"m so glad you found us!!! :goodvibes
How scary about that train accident :scared1: I'm so glad that you and everyone else on your train was okay

Becky - Our school wasn't cancelled either:sad2: Which is actually fine, because I would much rather have Steph go now, than in the summer to make those days up.

piglet, Mac, Rose, DMM, TJ (my abbreviation for you), Crissup - :wave2:

Jedi - I'm glad you found someone special :goodvibes

crzykid - What a terrible story about what those boys were going to do with your dog:scared1: I'm so glad that your brother rescued her, and she's somewhere safe now.

momto1 - I would cry to if it snowed in Disney :sad1:

HERSEY - I did have some business yesterday, thanks for asking!! It seems like whenever I don't expect people they come, and when I do expect people they don't - why is that?!?! (you don't need to have the answer to that:upsidedow )

Well, it's time for me to jump into the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!!
(and be careful in the snow)

good morning chicagoland homies..

just a quick drive by,
off to work now.

yup, more white stuff starting tonight..........

Hi everyone! More snow on the way?!? Please let it hold off until I walk back from class! I am in Central IL and it is supposed to start around noon and works its way towards you northerners! We are all hoping for a snow day tomorrow!

Leigh- Scary! Glad you were okay!
Bunchkin- Hi! Long time, no see!
crzy- Our neighbors had a pitbull from a rescue agency. She was the sweetest thing ever! At first I did not even know what kind of dog she was since she was not docked. She was cute!
Donald's shrink- I am taking an Ed Psy class. It is very interesting, except for the testing and stats part. I am so NOT a math person!
DMM- Cute stuff! I must be immature, though. Tween? I'd totally wear some of that!

Off to shower! Stay safe on the roads.

Good morning all! :wave2:

Stomach flu seems to have passed. Thank Heavens! :)

But I think DD may be coming down with it. :guilty: I hope not, as we have the Hannah Montana movie/concert to go to this weekend. And she is going to a play with a classmate and their family tomorrow night. She started feeling an upset stomach last night and continued this morning.

DS has been having to deal with a cold now for the past week or so.
It seems to be the same cold symptoms every other month with him.
I can't figure it out. :confused3
I hope that he doesn't get the stomach flu on top of what he is already dealing with.

The kids have no school this coming Tuesday and we were thinking of going to the Field Museum if the weather is good. I think I heard that the Museum is free the month of Feb. But I suspect that we might have to deal with other school field trips then too.

Leigh How scary that train ride must have been for you!! :scared1:
So glad nothing terrible happened to anyone on the train.

Hersey Call me evil, but if anyone here was to catch the stomach flu from me, I was hoping it would be DH!

paint Hi! Do you and your fiance have plans for a honeymoon? I may have missed you mentioning this already as I've been MIA. ;)

slo Glad to hear you had customers!! ::yes::

mac HI!! Don't send dogs!!!.....I'm allergic to them!! :teeth:

Have a great day everyone!!!

It's already snowing here! Anyone else have snow??

I am not looking forward to this snow!! Tomorrow is the 100th day of school, and the Kindergartners have a big day planned, so I am hoping they can go.

Stay safe everyone, looks like those of us to the south are in for a lot of snow.

Bunchkin- Honeymoon...really? Do you have to ask?!? WDW!!!::MickeyMo

Will everyone please quit talking about the snow!!! I'm trying *really, really* hard to ignore that might be happening!!!!!!!! Maybe if we very quiet about it, it will know it's not wanted and will go away (or at least wait until 10 pm to show up!).

I have to go to a parent orientation at the High School tonight from 7 - 9 pm and I'm NOT looking forward to driving in the snow but I really need to go to the meeting. I've been looking on-line for all the class information and it's confusing as all get out for what they can take, when they can take it, etc...

I did wonder if we could set-up an appointment to talk to a counselor if we get to the point that we are "HELP" -- DD will come home and tell me things her teachers have said and differnet scenerios and I keep thinking, gee it was so much easier when I was a Freshman! They pretty much said "HERE, you are in THESE classes" -- it wasn't until probably Junior/Senior year that we really had to make decisions. I think we only had to pick 1 elective as a Freshman and 99.9% of the kids took a language because we couldn't take one beforehand. DD is kind of miffed that she is taking French I which is a High School level course but since she's in 8th grade, it won't count at all on her HS transcript. So, if she wants to have 2 years of Foreign Language to show up on her HS transcript, she's going to have to take 2 years of language anyway. Basically by taking it in 8th grade, it didn't open any spots for all the other electives she wants to take. Although her Social Studies teacher said he's going to have his son (he has an 8th grader also) take his 2 years of languages his Junior/Senior year that way it will still be fresh in his mind when applying to colleges. Hmm...now that's a thought. I would have never even thought to do it that way. Although when the choir came and talked to them, there was a girl that wanted to do both choir & band but still continued her language. She was able to take that at the community college and get HS credit for it. I'm thinking "how did these people find out about all these extra ways to do things?" All I can think of is they went and talked to a counselor or something.

The counselors will be talking to them, although she saw a Drama Workshop class listed under English and she was wondering if she could use that as an English class. I told her nope, if I recall that one had an astrick by it that it doesn't count for English credit but is a general elective credt. Nice try kiddo! Let's just say writing/spelling is not her strong point & she would be happy to be done with that part of it. Reading is fine, so anything literature wise would be great but composition not so much.

We were just talking about this earlier. DS needs to bring in 100 of something. He wants to bring M & M's!! :)
DD did 100 stickers on a poster board.
DS's teacher is limiting them to 100 of something that can fit in a gallon size plastic bag.

Bunchkin- Honeymoon...really? Do you have to ask?!? WDW!!!::MickeyMo

How foolish of me!!! :rotfl: DUH!!!! :upsidedow
So will that be his first trip to WDW then?
How exciting!! :cool1:

Becky Good luck at the meeting tonight. Hopefully it will answer all your questions.

Gotta run. The laundry calls to me! :laundy:

Wow! At our school, if they took Spanish I, it counts for high school. Then again, it is a class that they actually go to the H.S. to take, so maybe that is why?? Have fun tonight! Ours should be coming soon.
