You are ALL so phenomenally great, I can't thank you enough!!:goodvibes Thank you ALL for the thoughts and prayers for my Aunt & DSIL!

I haven't posted here in some time (except last night, of course), and yet, so many of you replied personally! You have NO IDEA how MUCH that means to me, people I know, people I've MET, people I care about, that care enough to care about me and/or my family - I LOVE THE DIS and Chicago Area DISers! :goodvibes

Slo, I hope Stephanie gets to play next year. Fast pitch is something NEW altogther! Kinda scary! :scared:

Thanks disneygal and everyone for your knowledge about Jersey Boys and Grand Bear Resort! It is comforting to know that somewhere/something (besides Disney) is ok! :thumbsup2 We're getting the Villa deal, $200/night divided by us 2 - where can you stay somewhere like that for $100/night? Jersey Boys should be great, I hope - thank you!

{{hugs}} for paint! I KNOW that learning about 'that stuff' isn't easy (been there, done that) but, you will get past it if you love him. Think about this: If you went to a male-stripper place, would it change your love for your fiance'? I think you know the answer.

zero, thanks for the idea! :thumbsup2

Thank you Kirsten!

Looking forward to your notes, mac! :thumbsup2

Nicole, thank you. I'll be sure to post about Jersey Boys but I figure I'm gonna like it. It was one of 2 albums I remember playing/listening to as a kid..that and Elvis. Saw Elvis, before he died! Hoping Frankie Vallie singers are good enough too. ;)

irish-we made bracelets last year! Again, where is the Mommy & Me FUN in that?? Great cause, I know but, come on, Dad gets to bowl - every year! :rolleyes1 Lemme BOWL! (I beat DH last month in the Dells, bowling for fun!) :rotfl:

I Promise to post again - soon!

Aunt is hospitalized right now, having chemo and radiation, again. UNUSUAL, and kinda uncomfortable update....she has lost 2 layers of skin between the areas between her lady area and the other area! I can't even imagine the pain/discomfort she's feeling! YEEOWWW! I'm glad she's in the hospital, getting SOME help right now, hopefully. :confused3

I really, truly want to thank you ALL for your personal replies. :grouphug:

Kim

We are 1/2 way through the week!!:cheer2:
I'm getting ready to do a car show this week (I have a booth for the store), and I'm really looking forward to getting it over with. I'm not looking forward to it:sad2: It's going to be cold and damp - not fun!!! But I'm hoping that it will give me alot of exposure, and drum up some more business (fingers crossed).

DG -I hate pants/shorts with stuff written on the bottom - I think they are just silly. Stephanie has wanted things like this, and I told her no way:sad2:

paint - Try not to be upset at DFiance, he didn't go to those shows/places because he doesn't love you. Kevin used to go to places like that around here with his friends, and it never bothered me. Boys will be boys

piglet - :wave2:

Zero - I'm glad your flowers made it through the freeze :flower: I need to plant some bulbs this fall - I love big red tulips, they are one of my favorites!!!!

Leighs - That's great about you buying that ipod for your friends DD - she'll love it!!!:goodvibes

Mac - :wave2:

Bunchkin - I need new glasses too, because me everyday glasses broke last September, and I never got them replaced, so I've been wearing my good glasses every since, and I don't like them. My old glasses had the clip on sunglasses, and these can't have that, so I have to take them off everytime I want to put on sunglasses - such a pain!!!! I"m sorry you lost your clip, that is so frustrating!!! That's good that Hunter doesn't need glasses right away - I bet that's a relief for you :)

Julez - That places looks like a lot of fun!!!! (had to use the dancing banana)

ID - I hate it when I lose my posts - so frustrating:headache: !! Enjoy your new books!! You just reminded me that I need to go get a 2008 Birnbaum book :)

Kim - We love you!!!:grouphug:
**Do girls the same age as Kelly do the fast pitch, or someone else? I've seen older girls do fast pitch, and it is fast and scary:eek: That's awesome if girls the same age as Kelly are able to do that. What position does Kelly play?

Well, it's time to go!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Well, it actually looks like we might have a decent day today! But if i saw the weather correctly, we are suppose to be getting some rain possibly tomorrow and Friday! I would just like to have a warm day with no rain. I have a lot of yard work i would like to get done... but its chilly out there.

Hope all of you have a great day!
Michele

Good Morning Everyone!:flower3: At least it is sunny out and not ascold. still not springy weather though! after several discussions and me changing my mind 100 times. mike have set a tentative date for spring 2010. :cool1: neither of us want to wait that long but financially it works out the best. and i will hopefully be done with school by then! this way it will be less stressful trying to get everything together and paid for and we still have time to find a place to live! i'd marry him tomorrow if i could! :goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling better! have a good day!:flower3:

Good morning peeps! :goodvibes

I am sooooooo tired. Last night, I was taking off my rings (like I do every night) and my wedding band flipped out of my fingers and landed somewhere in our room. I looked for an HOUR - until after midnight! - and I couldn't find it. So frustrating as I KNEW it was there someplace. This morning I looked again, still couldn't find it. On a whim I emptied out my crochet bag next to my bed, and there it was all the way at the bottom. Whew! DH and I had rings with celtic knots made especially for our wedding, so if I lost it I really couldn't replace it.

Another day of laundry. I don't usually do it every day, but with our trip just around the corner I've got to get everything done before the weekend. DD turns 4 on Saturday, so we've got a big family party. My in-laws are coming in from TX for the party and will be here Friday. DMIL has allergies to cats so I've got to get the whole place vacuumed before she gets here. She's a sweet woman and I don't want her miserable for her visit. So, I've got to get groceries today and keep packing and washing and UGH! Do I really want to go on vacation that badly? ;)

julez - totally anxious for that relief check. We, like everyone else in the country, could really use it. After we booked our trip we discovered we'll probably have to replace our roof this year. Not sure which of us is going to use our good looks to get THAT paid for. ;)

slo - good luck at the car show! I have a *lot* of red tulips around my house. But beware - bunnies love tulip bulbs, so if you plant them and you have rabbit issues like I do, plant them deep and in a place rabbits tend not to go. I've spent years finding plants that rabbits avoid to help protect the ones in my yard they like to eat.

KimRaye - Chicagoland peeps are the best peeps. :) More good thoughts for your family and here's hoping they're feeling better soon.

irish - I hate when that happens! Sometimes if my post is really long (and if I'm feeling especially paranoid), I type it in Notepad and then copy and paste it over. And what great goodies your DH brought. I adore books. Have wanted to see Juno too, but I'm way behind on movies. I just watched the third POTC last week! :sad2:

bunchkin - glad that your son doesn't need glasses yet, though glasses are far "cooler" for kids than they were years ago. I had to get them when I was nine and I'm surprised I lasted that long. I just got a new pair about a month ago and I've been having the hardest time getting used to them. I used to joke that I'd be blind by the time I hit 40, but I don't think I'm going to make that joke anymore - I don't want to jinx myself.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

zero ~ I am so glad you found it! I lost my ring last summer, we found it almost 2 months later.

Morning everybody! I'm going to try and get this done quick so I don't lose it this time :rolleyes1 . Plus I have a home inspector coming at 11a for our re-finance so time is limited.

DD11 came home from track last night telling me there is another meet Thurs. She has gymnastics on Thurs so I told her she should either be late to the meet or skip but I found out at my morning walk that it is a "big" one with their cross-town rival  . My biggest issue is that we are not getting the info in advance. Last week she came home Mon night with meet info for Tues and now it is Tues with a meet Thurs. The other schools knew about the meets in advance so it looks like it is just a communication issue within our school :sad2: .

Brrrr, it was freezing out at 5:30a when I went walking. Will it ever just get warm and stay that way?!

piglet - DH works for Sony, they were at the show with their new Sony Reader and other misc. stuff. The reader is a cool little electronic thingy that you can download books onto.

Kim - I hope you have time to keep us updated on things.

slo - I hope you stay dry and warm this weekend at the show. DD11 has a track meet Sat and I'm not looking forward to 55 and rain :sad2: .

disneygal - congrats on deciding on the wedding. Waiting is tough but it is best not to go into marriage in debt over the wedding.

:wave2: to everyone else!

Have to run, inspector should be here soon. Have a great day everyone!

Hi gang! Love the sun today! I have a big lunch meeting I should be preparing for but you are all so much more fun to chat with.

Slo - Good luck at the car show. Hopefully, the weather forcaseters are wrong and the day will turn out sunny and nice.

Disneygal - Congrats on setting the date for the big day! That gives us lots of time to help you plan your bid day!

Zerymyhero - Bunnies don't like plastic snakes. I go to the dollar stores and buy a couple of the long plastic snakes and put them amonst my flowers. I haven't had any problems since introducing snakes to my yard. They are quite a converstation when we have people over, too. I am gald you found your ring. I lost the diamond out of my ring never to be found again. So, so sad...

Irish Dancer - 2 of ds track meets have been cancelled due to weather. I keep asking him if they are going to be or have been rescheduled. I just know I will be in the same boat as you finding out at the very last minutes. Heck, his track clothers might not even be clean if I don't know ahead of time.

Kim - positive healing thoughts for your relatives. Keep us posted!

Have a great day!
Lori

We know our track meets before the season even starts. Many have been cancelled due to weather, and with conference meet being next Tuesday, I doubt they will make them up.

Lori ~ I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring. I was working at Toys R Us at the time, and realized it was missing as we were leaving for the night. I think my manager was more upset then me ;) Someone got a nice surprise in their bag that night.

I created a playlist of songs on Launch. So many of them bring tears to my eyes for one reason or another. I put "Concrete Angel" at the very end 'cause that one makes me bawl. Just discovered "Arlington" by Trace Adkins, I like it a lot.

Thanks for your support everyone. I know, in the big scheme of things, it is not a big deal. Logically, I can admit that. Emotions don't follow logic, though! Anyway, I told him it was over and done with. It is a part of bachelor parties, pretty much, but that doen't mean I have to like it! I just hate having to admit to being jealous and insecure. Afterall, I am such a hottie!:rotfl2:
Dgal- You will have plent of time to save and plan the perfect wedding. Besides, it will be here before you know it!
Kim-:grouphug: to your family

Hello!! :wave2:

Still trying to work out our summer vacation plans to go away for DS's
b-day. We are trying to decide if we want to go to Colonial Williamsburg, like I mentioned before, or go to Springfield and do the whole Lincoln thing. Both kids and us would love to do either. And we're really into Route 66 stuff here.
We would be driving to either place, and with the cost of gas we might think of just going to Springfield as Williamsburg is over 1300 miles away!! And that would require an overnight hotel stay each way as well.
What to do? :confused3 We have to make a decision soon so we've been tearing through the tourism materials we sent away for and all the web sites.

DD just mentioned going to the Dells!!! Like I need another place thrown into the mix!!

Kim I forgot to mention things our troop has done for Mother/Daughter events, either with our service unit or as an individual troop. We've done: Movie and lunch, spring fashion show at a fancy banquet hall and lunch (each troop picked a clothing catagory to dress up as...ie. hippie, prom, sporty, pj's, etc.), pottery place and lunch, luncheon/tea at a local church where the girls performed songs and we had raffles, and this year we are going to Wicked. Dad's do tend to get all the fun stuff. Why is that? Bowling(which they just did the other weekend), dances, baseball games. Why is it that the women who organize these events want to provide a better event for the men then the women? It was one of my biggest pet peeves when I was a council member of our service unit. I and my co-leader organized a mother/daughter event our first year in Girl Scouting. We did an overnight at the Planetarium! It was so much fun! Over 450 girls amd moms attended! Huge turnout!! :goodvibes

slo Hope the car show goes well for you!
What burns my hide about losing my sunglass clip is that I just did the same thing almost exactly a year ago at Disneyland!!! :headache:

dinseygal Congrats on setting a date!

Mickymousefn We have a lot of yard work to do too.

mac:wave:

irish dancer Hope the inspection went well.

Zero Glad you found your ring!!
Sounds like you're super busy!!!

:cool1: Great day to check my mail. I finally got the free 4gb iPod from my bank. All I had to do upon opening the account was have two direct deposits and they sent it to me.

piglet Yay for the IPod arriving!! :cool1:

Off to make dinner. DS picked out ABC shaped pasta from Trader Joe's and I promised him we would have them tonight. Hopefully I have other pasta in the pantry to make for DH and myself. I really don't want to make words with my food! :)

Hello again everyone!!!

Slo, good luck at the car show! Wishes for Much new business!!! :thumbsup2 And yes, girls pitch to girls now. Thankfully, being their 1st year, they're not terribly FAST, but it is still scary! :scared: There are penalties for hitting a batter tho and, if you hit 2 batters, the pitcher is taken out. Kelly's positions vary but, her coach tries to keep her at 1st base as much as possible. They're still trying to teach the girls different positions but it's messing them up, changing every inning.

Thanks again, ALL!!

Nicole, you have done some AWESOME Mommy & Me events! I am passing them along asap!!! Thanks!! LOL about your pasta!!

Talk soon!! :grouphug: :goodvibes

Happy Thursday!

catch you later homies,
going to bed as i have to work thursday and friday.

sweet sleep

Good morning!

Kim Prayers for you  I hope Kelley is doing well.

Last full month for school :dance3: Alex is getting excited to be done.

Bunch I agree with Mac don't do Williamsburg and Springfield in the same trip. Have the kids and you gone down around New Orleans for their battle fields St francisville is very pretty and a little haunted.

Yeh the Cubs won big last night :cheer2: That's was I love them embrass them and they come back fighting.

I can tell this is going to a coffee kind of day.

Alex was up late trying to get his alegebra homework done. Probability problems, poor kid was asking for me to help him. I don't remember Probalilty when I did alegebra.:confused3

:surfweb:

Hey.....It's May 1st!!!! :flower2:
That means I can plant my flowers this month, we open the pool this month, I can take my summer clothes out of the attic this month, it's the last full month of school - I think I'm going to love this month!!!!!

Thanks to everyone that wished me good luck with this car show on Saturday :car: With the weather is looking, I'm starting to wonder if this show is going to happen (due to rain). I hope it does, because the rain date is next Saturday, and that's when I have my glucose intolerance test, and I don't want to reschedule that, but I will if I have to. So we'll see what happens:rolleyes:

MMFan - I agree on the yardwork ::yes:: I did a ton on Sunday, but I have so much more to do.

DG - Congrats on setting a date!!!! :cheer2: You'll be so glad that you set that 2010 date, because you'll be able to get whatever you want - which is so nice!!! Kevin and I had a 2 year engagement, and I never heard anyone say to me, "Sorry, that date is taken". So my advice is to start planning early, and then it's done, you don't have to stress when it's closer to the wedding.

Mac - :wave2:

Zero - Thank goodness you found your ring!!!!! Good luck getting ready for your DD's party - how fun!!! (the party, not the prep;) ) When is your DD's actual birthday?

piglet - OMgosh, I can't believe you lost your diamond in someone's bag - that's awful!!!!!:sad1: I don't even want to know how much that cost to get replaced:eek:
**Congrats on getting your ipod!!!!! :)

ID - It was cold out yesterday morning :cold: I thought of you when I went out to walk yesterday - I was wondering if you were as cold as I was. I started going to 3 miles this week, and it's feeling really good. I'm going to do this for a couple of weeks, and then I'm going to expand to 4 miles :thumbsup2

momto1 - That snake idea is pretty cool - I may have to try that!!! :)

paint - That's good that you put your Dfinaces party behind both of you :)

Bunchkin - Springfield sounds like a good idea too - I would like to go there too ::yes:: I would also like to take the girls to The Dells, because I haven't been there since I was a kid. I can understand why you want to stay local because of the gas - it's to crazy expensive!!! Kevin fills his small Mazda 6 every 6 days, and it's costing him $80 a fill-up:eek: He loves his new job, but he's not loving the long drive, due to gas prices:sad2:

Kim - Good luck to Kelly playing First Base :wizard: How fun!!!!!

HERSEY - I had to chuckle when you said you don't remember much Algebra, because I KNOW I won't be any help to Stephanie either when she has harder math:sad2: especially Geometry - I was horrible in Geometry!!!!

Well, I'm off to get ready for a Chamber of Commerce breakfast this morning.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

a very good thursday morning chicagoland homies.

slo, i teach math sometimes at the high school
all i have to say is thank goodness for the teacher edition of the book...

off to work.
