weather will start the snow showers tonight and that will help..........

off to work.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: it's beautiful outside as of right now at least! I don't mind the rain but the sun is shining and it's not cold... can't ask for much more! I'm starting to get nervous about all these airlines filing for bankruptcy and canceling flights... Frontier Airways just filed but are still going to run until things are sorted out and AA more flights canceled!! We are flying AirTran out of Midway, anybody fly them before??? :confused3

Yay for Friday!:cool1: busy weekend ahead, still need to do my last part of my one project and write a short paper, and pack! So random funny story time!! I was leaving the train station this morning and slipped down the escalator. Fell down about 4 stairs (luckily there was no one directly in front of me) however, i turned around and there were about 3 people just staring at me... i laughed and said 'watch out it's slippery' they all just continued to stare at me like i had 3 heads. (apparently, people don't have much of a sense of humor in the morning:confused3 ) my shoulder hurts a bit but otherwise i'm fine! treated myself to a Large Sweet Tea from McDonalds for the pain!

Slo ~ my Mom passed in Nov 2006 very suddenly. It is still very hard some days, especially when i get stressed. I know she'd be proud of me for going back to school and when i get frustrated or stuck on a project, i ask myself 'what would mom do?' and it usually calms me down. :goodvibes

hope everyone has a wonderful day! I hear on Wednesday we are supposed to get up near 70 degrees!

DG ~ Sorry to hear you fell! I would have laughed with you though, once I made sure you were OK. When I was working downtown, I fell once and people just walked right around me. :sad2:

Found out last night that my nephew is being held back at boot camp. He has been sick and was unable to pass the final PT before the Crucible. His graduation will be pushed back about two weeks now.

OK, I need to vent, so skip this if you want. When we signed Nathan up for football last weekend, we asked them to hold the check for us. We knew we did not have the funds available, not until Dewain gets paid on the 15th. they said they would do it, no problem. Well, the check was deposited and now we are looking at 5 overdrafts. We knew we were tight this pay period, knew we were going to be down to the last dollar. I am livid because we do not have the extra money to cover the fees. Well, we do, but it has to come out of our food and gas budget, which is so tight to start with. $175 is a lot of money and I just don't know what we can do.

HI!! :wave2:

I was supposed to go to DD's school today to help out. They are working on making those wax seals people used to seal envelopes and put their insignia on way back when.
But......I am sick!! Last night I started getting the chills really bad while helping DD make her costume for Sitting Bull. Then when we were putting the kids to bed I started noticing I was burning up!!! I had the worst fever and chills all night long.
I don't want to give whatever I might have to DD's class so I'm sending DH to help out instead! :)
Right now I feel so tired. And I was having all kinds of heart palpitations too last night, so I'm really wiped out.

piglet Congrats to Kevin!!! :yay: When is the trip?

slo Like I stated above, Lauren got Sitting Bull. They are doing a presentation next week where they are to be like wax statues of their character and then people come up and push a button, they made pretend buttons they will put on themselves, and then you have to basically read your report to them as if your the actual character. So this weekend we have to work on her memorizing the 2 page report she did. They will recite it at least 6 times.

disneygal I think I mentioned the other day that we have flown Air Tran. Several times actually. They are great! Always on time.

Bunchkin ~ I hope you feel better soon! Kevin's trip is Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25.

piglet What grade is Kevin?

I am in a paper shredding frenzy right now!!!
At least I'm multi-tasking as I sit at my desk DISing!! :thumbsup2

Kevin is in the 8th grade. That week will be busy for him: Wednesday is the 8th grade trip to Great America, Friday-Sunday is D.C., and Tuesday is Graduation.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks a lot for checking out the podcast! I've noticed quite a few hits from the Chicagoland area!

If you haven't yet, I think today's show is our best so far! We discuss why we keep going back to WDW year after year when we could go other places!

Check us out!

Thanks,

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When I first read this, I was like - WHAT????? :confused3

So, I went back and looked at my post, and I literally laughed out loud:rotfl2:

You crack me up - thanks for making me laugh today :goodvibes

DG - I understand how hard it is to lose someone you love suddenly. A couple of years ago my Grandma, who I was very close to, died very unexpectadly (she had a knee replacement, and never made it home from the hospital). I still grieve for her today, but I take comfort in knowing that she's watching over me constantly. Continued hugs to you, and like I said, whenever you need us we are here for you!!!:grouphug:
**I'm sorry to hear you fell today - ouch!!!! I'm sure glad you are okay!!!:)

piglet - I'm am so mad for you!!! That is really crappy that they cashed that check when they said they wouldn't. Is there anyone you can talk to at your bank to see if they can lessen the overdraft charges? This happened to us once, a long time ago (I forgot to log in my check register a large $ check) and we had tons of overdrafts. Luckily, my bank felt sorry for me, and split the cost with me 50/50. You may want to ask the bank for help, and hopefully they will. Good luck!!!:wizard:

Bunchkin - Oh no, I'm sorry you're not well  You have not had a good winter, when it comes to being sick  I'll send a lot of PD your way to feel better real soon :wizard: :wizard:

Maverick Mike - I haven't visited the podcast yet, but I will soon!!! :thumbsup2

Becky ~ :cheer2: glad to hear she made the team. I can't recall if this is a school team or not. At my HS, and even the one my kids will go to, all freshman make all the teams.

:cheer2: . I hate it too when they make you jump through the hoops for try-outs only to let everyone on the team....

It's the HS team. I don't know if it's usual for all Freshman to make it or not. I know it sounds really weird for being annoyed all the kids made it & it's not that. It's the jumping through the hoops part. I'm thinking couldn't they have said "OK, we have 26 uniforms, only 20 of you are trying out, therefore you all have made the team." but nooooo....they tell you, that you have to be here from this time to that time and you have to stay here forever to find out if you made the squad or not. Try-outs started at 3:30 but we got there around 4ish due to the time the MS gets out but they knew no 8th grader could get there at 3:30, they told them to just get there ASAP...then she didn't call me until 6:30 to come pick her up because they finally got done (which included some sitting around & waiting time to see if they made it or not). She had gymnastics she had to skip that is in the exact same building (literally just upstairs) that didn't start until 5:30 and went until 7 but because she was sitting around to find out if she made the squad or not, she had to miss it. They knew ahead of time they all made the squad, couldn't they have dismissed them before 6:30!!! THAT's what annoyed me.

:cool1: Kevin found out that he did get the scholarship for the Washington D.C. trip!!

Congratulations that's great.

I'm so glad today is Friday...we don't have any big plans for this weekend, so I'm really happy. Next weekend is the last cheer meet with the Park District and then the following weekend my 7 year old is going to belt test finally in karate (he's taken it for 3 years but never wanted to test before & didn't have the moves good enough either). This is nice because the 5-7 year olds only need to know the first 9 moves of the Kata but once they turn 8 they need to know the entire thing. DS birthday is in May -- so testing goes past his birthday but his group is before that. WHEW!!! At least he can get a couple red stripes because I think it will be another 3-5 years before he's ready for his orange belt. He takes Shotokan.

Slo ~ The bank won't do anything, we already asked. Our only hope is that the football people will split them with us. I don't get why we put dates on checks if the bank is not going to look at it. We post-dated the check for the 15th too, just to make sure. Oh well, live and let learn.

:cool1: Kevin found out that he did get the scholarship for the Washington D.C. trip!!
Congrats to Kevin.
Mac - My wet is soaking wet too ::yes:: I keep watching the creek across the street is fear because it's getting higher and higher
Slo, this really made me say, "What?" And then I had to read it again. Still wondering what wet is soaking wet?!!:rotfl:
slo don't worry about the wet being wet.
Mac, you made me LOL. I got a chuckle out of Slo too this afternoon.

DG, Hope you are OK now. And you are right. Some people just have no sense of humor. Morning, noon or night!! At the very least they should have checked to make sure you are OK.
I see you are leaving very soon. Please be sure to return with the weather you will be enjoying.

HI!! :wave2:
But......I am sick!! Last night I started getting the chills really bad while helping DD make her costume for Sitting Bull. Then when we were putting the kids to bed I started noticing I was burning up!!! I had the worst fever and chills all night long.
Bunchkin, feel better real soon. This sickness all around is just awful!!

Thanks,

Mike, enjoying the podcasts. I read ScottNY trip report and then saw he has a podcast as well. His trip report was a great read and had a ton of photos.

Well, school shows :dance3: are done. Now just the weekend shows for Peter Pan left. DD is having the time of her life. Myself, on the other hand, :faint: Cookies to bake tonight (well, ok, put on the pan and put in the oven:lmao: )for the bake sale and redo DD hair in banana curls. They are making me go:banana:
Who turned on the airconditioning this afternoon? When I left this morning it was warm and sunny. Come out from the auditorium and I was blown away and frozen!!!
Well, off to the grocery store shortly.
Later.

That wind yesterday was something else
I"m glad to see that it's calmed down quite a bit.
I would like to get rid of this rain to, but hopefully everything will turn nice and green because of it.

Becky - That would annoy me too ::yes::

piglet - I'm sorry the bank won't help you - that's not very good PR :sad2: I can understand them not waving the whole thing, but you would think they could reduce it - they aren't very nice:guilty:

TTTTTigern - Is the Peter Pan production close to home, or farther away?
**I"m glad you got a chuckle from my goofy post yesterday - it was pretty funny!!!!

Bunchkin - How are you feeling today? Sending more PD your way :wizard:

Well, that's about it for now - I need to get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hello everyone! A quick stop before I start my day. I like the green grass but enough rain already. I hope no one has any flooding problems. Our basement is dry :thumbsup2 the cats don't do the water thing well and the dogs they do the water/mud all to well :rolleyes1

Bunchkin I hope whatever you have/had to over.

Well I must get to a quick cleanup before I have to run out the door.

i'm building an ark

Hi guys!!

Well...I thought I was on the mend....until last night!! UGH!
It started all over again, the chills and then a high temp. I was totally wiped out. And I was shaking like crazy.
So I ended up getting into bed at 6pm. I had three blankets on me just trying to get warm.
This moring I felt like someone drove over me with a Doom Buggy!!:sad2:

Did anyone watch the new Travel Channel special with Samantha Brown and WDW???
It was good! All though I did fall asleep right before it was over! Darn!!
There's one every Friday until early May.

slo I have had a bad winter!!! :headache:
I thought I was the only one who wondered what wet being wet meant!!!:rotfl2: (I just didn't bring it up!! )

Becky Congrats to your DD for making the cheer team!! :cheer2:

Tiggerrn Hope you got those cookies made!

piglet You should deffinitly make the football team take the responsibility of paying those bounce fees, especially since they agreed to hold the check. Do you know who ok'd that? Did you register in person?
It's totally their fault and should pay 100% if those fees. Don't even except less!!! :thumbsup2

I think I'm going to go lay down! I feel so tired!!! I hate being this sick!!!

I hope you feel better Bunchkin!

I'm doing my taxes. :sad2: I guess I've put it off as long as I can. At first I couldn't log into TurboTax through Fidelity, it kept closing my browser. So I switched from IE to Firefox and it's working ok so far.

bunchkin, i am so sorry you are sick

rest as much as you can and use speed dial on the phone for dinner.

stay in bed and sleep.

do hope you get better real soon!

Hi guys - Yikes, who turned on the air conditioning :cold:

Bunchkin - so sorry you're sick, I hope you feel better soon :flower3:
I have the new Samantha Brown show on DVR, will watch it tonight after the kids go to bed.

Leigh - my mom used to do her taxes every year on April 15, I remember my brother having to drive it downtown to make the midnight deadline  . Luckily DH did ours as soon as he had his W2, the refund arrived and has already been spent ;) .

piglet - congrats to Kevin on making football, sorry there was the problem with the check. I'm suprised the bank wouldn't do anything about the overdraft charges since they honored a check before the date. I hope the football people will cover the cost.

I've sent 2 emails to AKV concierge that haven't been answered, getting kind of ticked. I'm an obsessive planner and want to know what is up with our ADRs  . Had them book CRT since I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to 'hopefully' get an ADR but now I'm rethinking it. We stopped even trying for it when they added the picture pkg and jacked up the price but thought we'd give it a try one more time. It's just rubbing me the wrong way to pay in full INCLUDING gratuity 6mos ahead of time. How can any breakfast for 5 be worth $184.20?! The emotional side would like to eat in the castle (plus I love that potato casserole) but the rational side of me keeps counting all the things we could do with that $$$ .

Not much really going on around here this weekend. Scout mass tomorrow at 8a though - ugh. We're not morning people, wish they'd switch it to a later mass. We might see Nim's Island in the afternoon before dinner at the in-laws.

Stay warm and dry everyone!
