Howdy y'all!!! :wave2:

This morning I went to DD's school to shop at the book fair with her.
Which left DH in charge of getting DS on the bus!! In the past this has proven to be disasterous!!!! Last time I left him in charge he didn't get DS on the bus because he was watching the news and not paying attention to the time!!! :headache: I was furious! And once he forgot DS's backpack! The bus driver asked DH where it was!!!!
Good Grief!!!

piglet Is that The Pit on Roberts Road? I've been there many times.
Hope your son gets that scholarship!!:goodvibes

paint Let us know about how you like/dislike Nim's Island! DD wants to go see that.
That's a long ride for a bridal shower! We've been to that Disney outlet before and bought NOTHING!!! Wasn't impressed. Maybe you'll have better luck!!

geffric That was nice of the salesperson to let you know those shoes would be going on sale. :thumbsup2

disneygal Is that mac and cheese out of a box???
Good luck getting everything done this weekend! No sleeping in for you!! ;)

slo Good luck tonight!!!! I hope a lot of people attend!! ::yes::
And a fajita bar sounds yummy!! :goodvibes

mac I've been visting the Universal threads a lot trying to get lots of info! I've also been reading a couple guide books I picked up. And all of them say that the lines at US/IOA are horrible, long waits and mismanaged!!! Worse then Disney! Tell me it isn't so!!!

Tonight's dinner isn't really worth mentioning. It's hot dogs and mac and cheese. DS's favorite.
I hate cooking on Fridays. I don't know what it is, maybe because it's the end of the week or something. But I've always hated cooking on Fridays. So dinner is never a big deal here on Fridays. Before kids DH and I would go out to eat every Friday!! Boy, those were the days!!
:rotfl2: ;)

Yep, that's the place. I have only been there once, but my folks love it. I like another place on Roberts Road, Peppos is the best sandwich place ever!.

Off to take my mom to get her hair shaved. It is coming out in clumps now, so she thinks it is time. So hard to hear her crying, but I am glad that I can be there for her.

I'm too busy to cook. At least that's my excuse! Last night's dinner was Subway (before dd's dance class) and Coldstone later. DS had a bday coupon for free icecream. It was about to expire and to let it do so would be a sin!
Anyone have plans for the weekend? We are going to meet with a florist, then see Nim's Island tonight. Saturday is work. Boo! Sunday I have to go to my sister's bridal shower in Gurnee. It is a very long drive from here, but at least I will have to make a stop at the mall. i haven't been there in years and I see they have a Disney Outlet. Anyone been?

the mall is a 10 minute drive from my house.
so glad you will be able to hit the outlet there.

i go there frequently.
a lot of kids clothes, toys, gadgets, plushies, adult t's, pins, etc

do stop by there. do you know where it is located?
want directions?
if i can help, i will

be aware that some days are great for bargains and some days is a waste of time there.
the merch moves around and changes frequently.
the pins come and go. a few weeks back i bought pins there for $2.99 each.
i pin trade so this is great for me.
i have never found a t'shirt there i like. but maybe that is just me.

good luck and hope they have good stuff when you go there.
it can be a hit or miss.

Howdy y'all!!! :wave2:

anything you want to know, ask me. i can help.
i have been doing universal and disney each year i go to orlando.
i started universal in 1993. i go annually to both places.

i can call you to help answer your questions as there is so much to talk about when you need a touring plan at UO.

i would be glad to help you out.

Afternoon guys! TGIF :cool1:

Going to be a busy evening here.
DD11 is going on an overnight at Brookfield Zoo with her GS troop. It sounds like a lot of fun, they get dinner, a night hike, games, craft, snack (sundae bar), movie on the big screen then breakfast in the am and another walk through the exhibits.
DD6 has decided that she wants her ears pierced! Problem is I had looked into it a while back and was planning to go to a place in Woodfield that had certified piercers but they're not there anymore! For some reason those places like Claire's and such scare me, don't know why that's where I went years ago :rolleyes1 . Anyone have any suggestions? After the outing she's going on a sleepover at her cousins.
DS7 is going to sleepover at the in-laws. He can't wait, they have recorded around 15 episods of Magic School Bus, his latest obsession.

Looks like DH and I will have a kid free evening. Maybe we'll go to a grown-up movie, anything good out there?

paint - I'm keeping your mom in my prayers, it's such a tough thing.
Let us know how Nim's Island is, DD11 is dying to see it.

piglet - what's your website? I don't know anyone around me that sells but I've tried a couple things and LOVED them, wouldn't mind picking up things from time to time.

slo - good luck tonight! The fajita bar sounds good.....maybe DH and I will grab some Mexican tonight (the kids don't like it)

Well, I'm off to run a few errands before school pick-up. Hope the weather forecast is right, it looks like it'll be a great weekend. Have a great one!

Irish Dancer ~ An over-night at the zoo sounds fun! I'll send you a PM with my site.

My mom did very well, so proud of her for going through with such a hard step.

Slo I'm a little late checking in today. I hope you do well tonight. That fajita bar sounds good too I hope it lives up to the idea.

piglet too How sad for your mom.

Got to get ready tonight is the fun fair at Alex's old school

Bunchkin - I"m so glad you said you never had Boston Creme Pie, because I haven't either:sad2: I thought I would be the only one:rolleyes:

They used to serve it as dessert at the Liberty tree tavern, but now it's warm cherry cobbler.

Basically, it's a yellow sponge layer cake with a thick layer of creme custard in the middle and topped with a layer of chocolate frosting on top. Kinda like a bavarian creme filled donut, but spong cake instead.

Evening all. Crazy few days here.
Piglet, for you and your mom.
Took kids skating today with the school and then to see Nim's Island for DD birthday. I thought it was cute. The kids loved it. A few times DS laughed out loud. So did DD. The animal actor sea lion was a hoot. ?Bearded dragon. Is he computer generated? Maybe sometimes real, but I think a lot of the time he is computerized.
Came home did some :laundy: and vacuumed and waited for DH to get home from work and the DD opened her couple of presents and got her new bike. That was about it. Tomorrow is her real birthday, but I have to work:sad2: so we celebrated today.
Our ice cream place opens tomorrow!!  Spring is finally here and summer is a comin'!! So DH will take Kellie there tomorrow for ice cream. We love this place. It is always so sad to see it close for the fall/winter.
This next 2 weeks will be horrid with Peter Pan rehearsals for Kellie and then FunFair stuff for school. I will be so glad after April 20th.
Well, would love to talk to all of you individually, but too tired. And early morning for me. Have a great weekend all.

Morning..

Well today is urber busy.. got lots to pick up for the ceremony and making some of the food.. I have a meat tray plus fruit and veggie trays, so i thought I'd do a pasta salad, and jello mold, and then a bean thing so my vegatarian ( sp) sister and BIL can eat..Then i want to make lemon squares, picking up the cake and cookies, but I think I'll do a chocolate oatmeal peanut butter thing too and brownies and if I have time between the cooking and cleaning and laundry I'll do choclate covered strawberries..

off to start the marathon.. talk soon..

:surfweb:

What a long day yesterday!!!!
I hate the days that I'm home only to get ready for work, and then only to go straight to bed (which was at 11pm) last night - very long day!!! :faint:

Thanks for the good lucks, to those that gave them
I didn't sell tons, but I did generate alot of awareness, so that's good!!!!
Many said they were going to have to come in, because they had something to do :thumbsup2

geffric - I hope everything goes well at the Eagle Ceremony tomorrow :wizard:

DG - Good luck with your busy weekend!!! :wizard: I bet you are getting so excited for your trip!!! :cool1:

piglet - Congrats on the website!!! :cheer2:
**I'll send lots of PD so Kevin gets that scholorship:wizard:
**Your poor mom - so many hugs to her!!!!

paint - How was Nims Island? Is there anything scary in it?

Bunchkin - I never feel like cooking on Sundays:sad2: , like you don't like cooking on Fridays. We basically always get pizza on Sundays or another type of takeout. If it's nice like this Sunday, we may do hotdogs on the grill, which is as effortless as the take out ;)

Mac - The last time I was at Universal was in 1993 - I bet it's changed alot. When we went there was no Jurassic Park, and the Jaws ride wasn't finished yet. When the girls are older, we are going to return ::yes::

ID - I took Stephanie to a jeweler when she got her ears pierced, and they did a great job. Places like Claries and Libby Lu made me nervous.
**Did your DD have a good time at the zoo?

HERSEY - The fajita bar didn't live up to the idea :sad2: My friend and I both didn't like it:sad2: This is now the second time I've eaten at this hall we were at, and it's now the 2nd time I didn't like what they did.

Crissup - They call it pie, but it's really cake? :scratchin That's very interesting!! Now I'm going to seek it out, so I can try it for myself :teeth:

Tiiggggeeeeernnnnnnnn -
:cake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY :cake:
I hope you have a wonderful birthday today!!!!!

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
The morning there is going to consist of putting my store back together, because I took 3/4 of it to that show last night

Have a good day today!!!

Happy Saturday all!!! :wave2:

Crissup The description you gave is exactly what I thought BCP was. Not up my alley though. Not a creme filled desert/donut lover!
I don't remember BCP being on LTT's menu. But then again the last time I was there was to celebrate DD's birthday a year and a half ago. And for desert we had a birthday cake I special ordered. YUM!!

slo I hope you get a lot of people stopping into your store to see you!! :thumbsup2 I kinda don't like to cook on Sunday's sometimes too!!

geffric That sure is a lot of cooking you have to do! But it all sounds yummy! Hope everything goes off well!

hersey How was the fun fair? Fun?

Tiggerrn Happy b-day to Kelley!!!! :cake:
Eat some ice cream for me and Hunter and Lauren!!!

mac Right now the only concern I have is the lines at US/IOA! Do you experience long lines or do you stay on property and use their 'fastpass equivalent'?

Good morning!

Boy it looks like it is going to be a great weekend. I busy today but I hope to get out in the yard tommorow to pick up sticks and stuff.

Slo That's awful about the Fajita bar some halls can't cook well. Hopefully those people will come in your store and tell other people.:thumbsup2

:cake: Happy birthday Kelly

mac Right now the only concern I have is the lines at US/IOA! Do you experience long lines or do you stay on property and use their 'fastpass equivalent'?

Bunchy.. we have been to US/IOA twice last year.. once in June and once in Feb - Pres weekend.. and we did not stay onsite and got there 1st thing in the am. we did not have long lines .. we had some lines but did IOS first, did the coasters and the thril rides and then hopped after lunch to US.. crowds were starting to go to IOS.. so we timed it right..

Nim's was pretty good. I did not pay that much attention. We saw it at the drive in and the kids sat in the front see so they could see better. Then, there were the frequent snack runs (popcorn with real butter!). They loved the movie and were cracking up over the sea lion and lizard. I don't thinkl there was anything scary in it.

mac- Maybe I'll find some pins. the kids want to get into trading, but all of their pins are too "good" to trade!
bunchkin- If you want something done right...Dfiance always leaves the door unlocked after he lets the dog out at night!
hersey- I'll send ds your way for those sticks. He likes to gather them for bonfires. Only, since he last gathered them, we haven't had a fire. So, all winter when I take garbage out I drag it around a giant beaver dam!
geffric- Oh! Those desserts sound good. What time should I be there?!?

Okay. Gotta' clean the house up. I have been letting it slide since I have been busy. Oh man...

What a BEAUTIFUL day it is! :flower3: This is unfortunately going to need to be quick as I still have quite a bit to get done, just taking a short break! Went to get my sister's Bday gift this morning, hopefully she will like it. I bought her 2 outfits from New York and Company (which is my fave store). Then I picked up some things for the trip (i.e. advil, stuff to prevent blisters, etc) still need to get the sunscreen but the BF said he needs to get a certain kind so not to worry about it. (he's allergic to the sun. turns into a tomato in 20 minutes, no joke) less than 2 weeks... AHHH, i'm so excited!   well, gotta run! hope everyone is having a fabulously wonderful day! :flower3:

That's all? :confused3 :lmao: ;) :rotfl:

Bakers Square does sell a pie style, but you'd better hurry since they filed for bankruptcy and are closing/closed a bunch of their stores. Mostly though, I see it as cake.

 What no Bakers Square pie. I must not be doing my job. I must make a note to eat more pie.

Evening everyone! Ahhh, what a nice day - the kids have been outside most of the day (they'll sleep well tonight  ).

DD11 had a great time at the zoo overnight but came home exhausted, took a 2hr nap! DD6 did great with getting her ears pierced, took her to a Merle Norman in town, they did a great job.

disneygal - I'm so jealous, I'd love to be going to Disney in 12 days!

geffric - wow, that's a lot of food to fix. All 5 of my brothers were Eagle Scouts (one of my parents requirements to get a drivers' license ;) )

slo - sorry the fajita bar wasn't good. We ended up going out for Mexican last night and I had fajitas too. Hope the show leads to more sales in your store.

Hershey - I know what you mean about Bakers Square, MIL just told me about it today. I like their pies but their food is so-so at best, will miss their French Silk.

Well, all this fresh air has wiped me out. Will be a quiet night here. Not much on the agenda for tomorrow. Have a great night everyone!

Off to take my mom to get her hair shaved. It is coming out in clumps now, so she thinks it is time. So hard to hear her crying, but I am glad that I can be there for her.

i am sorry to hear that.
will keep your mom and the family in my prayers.
everyone inside this white box is my family too.

slo I hope you get a lot of people stopping into your store to see you!! :thumbsup2

i second that.
hope your store fills up with customers real soon

geffric That sure is a lot of cooking you have to do! But it all sounds yummy! Hope everything goes off well!

congrats on the eagle scouting to ds.

hersey How was the fun fair? Fun?

in other words, did you have fun at the fair or was the fair fun..

Tiggerrn Happy b-day to Kelley!!!! :cake:

me too saying happy bday to kelley

mac Right now the only concern I have is the lines at US/IOA! Do you experience long lines or do you stay on property and use their 'fastpass equivalent'?

i can help you with a touring system if you stay off site in order to avoid the lines.
i have stayed off site in the beginning years.

now i only stay on site. you get the FOTL, front of the line, rights when you stay on site. you show your room key and do express line for entering the ride lines.

for shows and attractions, you get to enter before the general public.
this is good as you can choose any seat as you enter first.
