Oh, yeah...you can ignore my PM asking where we were. I found us.

That's what I get for getting stopped along the way reading other threads and then having to do real life details such as feeding my youngin.

Now I have to go back and read what everyone wrote.

I'm Becky a SAHM of 4 kiddos out in the Far West Suburbs/Tri-cities area.

Now to go read and I'll see if I need to add anything besides a Welcome to the new posters.

Hello everyone! :dance3: (sahmom of 3 kids, near west burbs, Girl Scout leader, Cookie mom, Art mom, Disney nut)

Jumping into part Deux right from the begining... let's see if this time I can keep up :lmao:

Hi all! Found you today and the boards do seem to be moving a wee bit faster.

Slo- you post did make it to the old thread yesterday. I saw it last night so I knew where to look today.

Welcome, new friends! Come visit us oftern.

DMM - Prayers for Roman's hearing and congratulations on his baptism! Have a great day.

DS has a 3 on 3 basketball game this afternoon for a fund raiser for the Heart Association. I don't think he asked dh for a ride home or took the money to enroll in the tournament. I wonder what he's gonna do? Oh, to be 11 again.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Lori

Hi again all - I've been on The DIS more than usual today :surfweb:

I've been trying to see how everything is going with removing the super long threads, and I have to admit, the DIS is moving at a much faster pace today:thumbsup2 I wouldn't be surprised if WMAlex decided to not return the long theads, and start removing the new ones after X amount of posts. If so, he's got my full support, because it has been nice posting with the DIS moving faster.

Debbie - I will definitly try to remember to give you a PM when something major is happening on here - that's no problem:thumbsup2

DMM - You know you are always part of our family here:grouphug:

Becky - :wave2:

Laura - Welcome!!! :wave2: Don't worry about keeping up, you can jump right in and discuss whatever you'd like to discuss. Some of us address each poster individually, and others always don't - there's no right or wrong :grouphug:

momto1 - I'm glad my post made it to the thread before it disappeared:goodvibes Thanks for letting me know that :teeth:

I just go done with lunch, and now I'm already dreaming about dinner. We made a Beer Bread (Tastefully Simple) last night, and I have dinner in the Crock Pot (stew meat, fresh mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, and a little beef broth) that will be served over rice. It's going to be so tasty, I can hardly wait

DMM -- prayers for Roman.

Can I just tell you guys I'm so excited regarding something that won't happen for 2 years at least. :lmao: DD is getting ready for High School and she knows that in the past the choir has gone to Disney. We weren't sure if it was all level of choirs or just the higher levels or ? From what DD tells me *anyone* in choir has the chance to go, they do the trip every other year. Then switch with the orchestra/band members. This year the choir is going, so next year it will be the orchestra/band members going on a trip. Since DD doesn't play an instrument anymore, that means she will only get to go every other year. Sophmore & Senior year she can go on the choir trips -- I'm going to try to attempt to be a chaperone *especially* since the trip will probably involve Disney in some form (either CA or FL). I have no idea how they do chaperones, so don't know if it's a lottery or ?? I'm pretty sure they have chaperones though because I remember reading about it years ago while waiting for one of my children's evaluations in preschool, they happened to have a HS newsletter there so I was reading it while waiting & they were having a meeting for the chaperones who were going on the Disney trip. I'm just excited that even if she doesn't make one of the higher choirs, she can still go on the trip. She plans to audition but I don't know how selective they are and/or how many openings they have so it might be really hard to get into the class. You have to audition every year but they do have a concert choir class that is open to anyone.

Good afternoon all.
DMM prayers for Roman. What caused his hearing loss? Hope they can correct it.
Becky, good luck with that planning of that trip. DD had a ballet trip fall 06. She really enjoyed being with all the other girls. We had the weekend to spend on our own in the parks. What was a bummer for me was we were at the WL as a family trip before the ballet group arrived and had to transfer to a DTD hotel when the group arrived. Very difficult to go from on to off property.:sad1:
Slo, good to hear your hands are doing well.
Kids decided to go play at friends houses this afternoon. Guess we aren't going to thepopcorn:: today.
Well, off to do some housework.

ooo what fun! Is she going to Geneva HS? My sis was there her frosh/soph years and went to Disney with choir and band :) It happened to be the same time I was in Disney Working. So it was pretty cool having her there!

They don't know for sure :( He was born deaf in one ear and then just this last appt. for his left ear they tested his right and were not getting a reading at all, then they were able to squeeze out a tiny bit of movement in his ear drum :( the poor guy just wanted to go home! haha..

I don't blame him. Those tests take too long for a little one. I hope they figure something out. Does he sign? My niece was so slow to talk so they taught her to sign, and that she picked up really fast.

Yep. She told me in 6th grade she planned to go for choir and when I said something about a Disney trip she did basically a "Duh, mom why do you think I want to take the class?" She figured that was another way to get to Disney by hook or by crook so to speak.

If she was still in orchestra, she would be able to go every year but alas, she quit that for this year and is just doing choir full-time but that's OK. She really didn't like playing the violin anymore and really enjoys choir.

Looks like the cold left us and the snow came in it's place. I look out and it's snowing. That's OK...it can do that for tonight but I have to go to Allstate Arena tomorrow for High School Musical on Ice and I DON'T want to be driving in the snow, so it needs to be done by then. I'm taking my little guy to spend the night at Grandma's tonight because the big boys have Pinewood Derby tomorrow which I obviously won't be at (why does everything have to get scheduled on the same day?).

Hi everyone! It's the end of a busy week! Hurray! Anyone going to HSM on ice? DD has her whole HSM ensemble picked out. She is so excited!

Hi to all the newbies! I am Tracy, a full-time student (English Ed., but don't judge my grammar. I like the Lit. aspect much more!) and waitress. I also have two kids, dd (6) and ds (7). I am also planning a May wedding and live in Central, IL with my fiance and kiddos.

DMM- Hope Roman is doing okay!:)

We are. We are going to tomorrow's 11:30 showing. DD made me make her a pair of "sweats" but they look more like PJ pants. I still have to hem them. They remind me more of Santa Claus though than HSM with the red/white combination but SHE likes them (we added some blue & a fishy on the side as pockets for the HSM2 part). All I know is I have to leave REALLY early because we can NOT have a repeat performance of when we saw the concert being an hour late, parking insanity and well basically no souveniors. I promised DD this time we would go early so that she could have a chance to buy something without the mobs that happen after the show. I fully intend to be there the 2 hours before the show when the parking lot opens -- or at least as close to that as I can get without getting lost to the Arena (since I don't have a GPS system yet...getting lost is not too far fetched for us!).

Hi! We are going tonight and Sunday at 3:30.

good friday afternoon chicagoland homies...

saw slo on the threads a bit ago and she told me where to find the winter holiday home you all are staying at now....i hear there are wood burning stoves at the new winter home........

i was able to get two of my threads restarted last night and emails, pm's off to most of the people. that sure took a lot of work.

i really think that the new thread about cliques are unnecessary.

what is wrong with people of the same interest posting to others on that thread of the same interest....:confused3

i'm on some mega threads and i do not consider them cliques. on those threads, no one has ever been treated rudely or discouraged from joining in.
it is so not right to call the chicago thread a clique thread.

ok, done with my rant now.
i'll step off the soap box and let the next homie step up.....

The meets I've attended people either came by themselves or with family members.

Hi There...I just found this thread...I am from Orland Park. The roads are horrible right now! There were so many accidents in the past 30 minutes. We have almost 2 inches on the ground right now!

Thanks for letting me join in!

Hi kors! I am just south of you in Mokena, and the roads are pretty nasty. DH had to run out to take DS8 to Cub Scouts, and was very happy he did not have to go far.

Like your tag! Have you been to the Crocs kiosk at the mall yet?

Yeah, I have been to the Crocs kiosk...I own 23 pairs of CROCS!! I have arthritis and they are the only shoes that I can wear that don't make my knees hurtl In fact, I was offered a job there before Christmas, but turned it down. They wanted to me to work every weekend. Sorry...but I have a life! I only wanted to work there for the discount!!
