I have booked a Water View room at the Beach Club in August. I have requested an upper floor with a lake view and a balcony. I am just wondering if all of the water view rooms are pretty much the same, or is there a chance I will get stuck with something I am not happy with?? Is there a particular area of the hotel that is better, or even a room #, that I should request also? I guess I am not that familiar with the hotel layout as far as the rooms are concerned. I understand that my requests may not be met, and I am really not all that picky, but for $400, I want to make sure I am getting what I'm paying for!

Any pros and cons would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

I have not stayed yet at the BC, but going for the first time in October. I found a lot of info on the thread here on the resort board titled BC/YC FAQ or something like that...I will try to bump it up to the front for you. It has room layouts for the BC that i found very helpful which will give you an idea of what each room view will be...also some good photos on ourlaughingplace.com

Last November we had a fifth floor waterview with a full balcony. It was over the lobby main doors on the lake side. It was terrible that whole courtyard if full of mature trees. The room was smaller than most and we did not have queen beds. I don't think any room in that area would have a vew of the water. We saw absolutely nothing but leaves! The hotel is beautiful, the pool is great, concierge is the best, but hated that room!

Hi there...

First of all - we better check your room rate. I am staying Lagoon View Concierge at BC including park passes & taxes for $379.00 a night. (7 nights)

About your view - you have booked waterview - but that could mean a pool too - you have to be in concierge to have Lagoon view guaranteed.

If I was you - I think I would request 4th floor with a view of Stormalong Bay - you can see the lake right behind it as well.

So double check your rate and let me know whats going on with that 400.00 a night thing!!!

No! I meant that it was an additional 400 for the week for the water view. It's like 50 bucks a night difference for the water view compared to the standard view, at least that is what they quoted me with the FTP when I booked it. However, how did you get concierge for $379 with taxes, etc. ? I am not paying much less than that. Is there something I don't know about??

I just found the YC/BC thread here. You are right, it's great, and is just what I was looking for!

Now I'm worried about those trees!:)

I am a huge fan of the Beach Club. If I were you I would request a water view with a view of the Boardwalk. This should zoom in on exactly what you want. Make sure and phone or fax the room assignor three days in advance of your arrival. If you enjoy sleeping late occasionally, be prepared to have the water taxi fog horns wake you up. You will love it here!!!!

Phew! I thought you were paying 400.00 a night! I think you would enjoy the water view and the 400.00 for the week (to me) is worth it.

As for concierge... on the Fairy tale Package - August 22, 7 nights, Lagoon View Concierge, UPH's and taxes 2650.00 total

That works out to 379.00 per night and includes all the concierge snacks & drinks etc...

Have fun at BC - are we there at the same time?

DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 3719. It's waterview--at least it faces the water, but there's NO VIEW--there's no balcony, and you look at the back of the facade of the building.

Room 2635 is standard view but overlooks the back main entrance, it's lovely and ther eis a partial waterview. It's also easy to get to just up the lobby stairs, no need to wait for an elevator.

How many nights are you going? An annual pass rate may pay for itself. Only one person booking needs the ap. We are getting an August ap rate of $227.50 per night. The Fairytale won't work for us because we are going again in October.

Hi there... just 2 of us - DD9 and I :D

Any dos and don'ts of BC standard-view room requesting that it would be good to know about? I know the room needs to have 2 queens and a daybed to accommodate the kids (this has been noted on my reservation I was told), and no smoking. I'd kind of like a full balcony... but I certainly don't want to seem greedy, after requesting the bed set up and the non-smoking!

WDW4Us,

You might think about switching to YC instead of BC. My DW and I had a beautiful view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk on our honeymoon back in '98. All of the rooms at YC have a balcony unlike BC. I do want to caution you that some water-view rooms at YC will be blocked by trees as is the case at BC, but I think you have a better chance of getting a good view at YC.

The rooms I would suggest would be anything in the 3157 to 3163 range at YC, or the comparable rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Just my $.02

Brian
