Linda: Sorry your still not feeling well. Have you gone to the doctor yet? I wen't to the site you posted are you going on a pirate ship? Kids had school today. They were upset. Wind chill was -19 the roads are bad. The dog doesn't even want to go outside. Hope everyone else is staying warm. Tina

Tina - Sounds like our weather moved over your direction. Sorry about that! All of the snow here has finally melted. Now we are dealing with torrential rains and wind. We received several inches of rain yesterday and more is expected over the next few days. There is currently a flood watch for most of western Washington. I had to laugh about your dog not wanting to go out. (Deja vu!) Yesterday morning both of mine looked at me like I was absolutely nuts, when I opened the door to put them out. The wiener dog ended up crawling out the door on his belly and I could just hear him saying, "I'll be good, mom! Please don't make me go out there!" Here's hoping that you see positive numbers for the temperature reading soon!

Dori :umbrella:

Let me say this, "I am a frozen water meter reader man this morning." With wind chills below zero, no wonder why. Can't take any deep breaths outside or I get brain freeze and that does not tickle!!!

Home for lunch and to warm up a bit before going back out this afternoon to read more meters. Isn't it Spring yet???

Lol Yes wealth of information on a daily basis. The thing that surprises me is it isn't tender or the Doctor didn't drain it. This thing is oval and is the size of a vegetable pea. The topical gel just goes on top and it will clear it through the skin without it breaking the skin. I told my son next time don't wait 2 weeks before telling me. We got 8 inches today another 6 expected tonight is that getting buried? I really don't like snow.........I have to live here till my kids are of age then we are moving SOMEWHERE WARM!!

Doreen: Are you getting as much snow as we are?? Have a safe trip. Pixie dust to Karen. I had the same surgery and I will be thinking of her. :wizard:

Dori: That is awesome your company raised so much money !! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Tina
Yes...you will be buried! Sorry about that. DH and I were talking about the temp in MN being -54. There is no way I would survive that. But he used to live in ND so he said no big deal. Yeah, right. I'll see you in FL!

Darlene

Hi everyone

Just trying to catch up on the posts. Had an awesome weekend. :Pinkbounc

Sue - congratulations to Vicki. You must be so proud of her. What date will you be in Disneyworld. We'll be there doing a cruise 8/20 and staying after the cruise from 8/27 - 9/2. If you are there then, it'll be great to meet you.

Darlene - great news about DS coming home this month. Sorry there's a delay. I can only imagine how excited your family must be.

Karen - good luck with your surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery.

To everyone not feeling well - hope you get better soon.

On Sunday, I surprised my DS with tickets to the Eagles playoff game. He was thrilled. He has been asking me to go with him for over 3 years and we could never get tickets. Well I got them and even though they cost alot, the look on his face was priceless. It's great to be able to make dreams come true. Like most of you, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my children. For me, it's all about creating memories. (I'm glad the game was Sunday and not today. At 15 degrees outside today, 35 on Sunday was like a heatwave. LOL)

Tomorrow, DS Harley starts his first day of college. Boy do I feel old. ::yes:: and proud.

Everyone, have a great day.

Bev :D

How cool!!! I watched the game from the comfort of my living room with a heating pad wrapped around my knee, will be doing the same thing this Sunday, especailly if we get the snow the weathermen are talking about!!! :scared1:

I just can't warm up. It is so stinking cold here. Hope everyone in the big freeze is keeping warm.

Tina - Yes, we are taking a shore excursion from 11:00 - 3:15 on the pirate ship. It was only $50.00 each and that includes rum punch, beer, soda or water and a BBQ Lunch. I read a lot of good things about it on the Cruise Critic board.

Andy- I hope you have thawed out!!! I wish that it looked like the rest of the week would be better but no such luck.

Linda

No, we are supposed to get some snow on Wednesday, then another plunge in temps by Friday, and a possible Nor'easter Saturday into Sunday. I guess our luck has run out, it was bound to happen. I was talking with my mom in Florida this evening, she said it was very cold there as well.

Andy

Sue: Congrats to Vicki!! Well done!!! :sunny:

Karen: I will be thinking of you on Thursday. I hope your recovery will be as painfree as possible.

Doreen: We definitely need to get all of our musical kids together! :rockband:

Andy: Brrr...! You poor thing! Keep warm! Keep thinking warm thoughts...of the cruise you just were on, AND our cruise next year! :boat: :sunny:

Bev: That was such a wonderful gift for your DS! You are right, these are memories he will never forget! :cloud9: Congrats on his first day of college, too!

Tina: I'm glad your DSs' lump was not anything serious! :faint: Sometimes being a parent is not a job for the faint of heart. LOL

Darlene: I'm sorry that your DSs return is being delayed by 2 days. But you are right, it's for the best reason possible, to help those who were effected by the tsunami.

To my fellow frozen future cruisemates: We have to keep thinking WARM, TROPICAL thoughts! LOL We got snow yesterday, we're getting more tomorrow, and that big storm is supposed to be heading this way too, over the weekend. It was 6 degrees here today, with a windchill below zero.

Our weather man says it might be a near miss for us but to keep watching. They said this storm was a big one. One little move in the track and oops before you know it we will get dumped with snow.

Linda:The only information I could get on the priate ship was that you could rent it for half a day for 800.00. I had to ask myself do I have the right site? The price you gave and what they offered sounds awesome !!!!o.k now you can laugh at me.

Darlene: -54 in MN o.k I won't complain anymore. Lol I couldn't deal with that either. We have a good couple of months left of this.........

Dori: How is all the rain you have been getting? With my dog we suffer with him because we have to take him out on a leash. He goes to the nearest tree. He walks on the snow as if he is walking on fire. The kids make fun of me because I put a sweater on him and he is a "male" dog. He likes that sweater. He also looks cute in it. lol

Stay warm and safe everyone. Tina

Doreen take good care of Karen and here is some extra :wizard: coming her way!!!

I keep thinking of that great weather Hazel and I had on our recent cruise, but it seems like ages ago now, not less than two weeks ago!!! Funny how you lose track of time when reality sets in!!!

Stay warm all, and keep this shovels (or snow blowers) handy, you never know when you might need it!!!!!

I need lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

DS's homecoming has changed AGAIN. Now they are saying 1 o'clock in the morning on the 30th. My plans are so messed up! I'm still trying to re-configure. Drive? Fly? Cancel/change hotel ressies? How many days can I miss from work and Sandy miss from school?

DDIL said DS told her he has 1 more patrol, but he says that everytime he has talked with her lately. How many "1 more" can you have? Can you tell I am starting to lose it? I'm having a hard time concentrating at work today.

ANDY...stay warm friend! Today is bitter out there. Do they have a provision for really bad weather, or are you like the postman?

LINDA...I'm with you, Florida cold is much better than NJ cold!

DOREEN...Glad you made it to Karen's even with the delay. Thanks for all your kind words, always.

TERRY...I am TRYING to think warm thoughts. Does your tropical desk lamp help?

Thanks for letting me vent!
Darlene

No, I'm out there in all kinds of weather, and today is no picnic, believe me!!! Trying to open these curb meter lids today is a real blast, luckily I only have about 12 more of them to do after lunch, I just hope I can get to them before the snow starts.

Here's some extra :wizard: coming your way Darlene!!!

Darlene: Sending Pixie dust and good vibes your way...... :wizard: :goodvibes :wizard: :goodvibes :wizard: :goodvibes

Andy:Just knowing your outside is making me cold brrrr Hope the sun comes out to warm you up a little. :sunny:

Doreen: Glad you didn't get all the snow we did. Sorry it took so long to get you there. Here's some pixie dust for Karen. :wizard: :wizard:

How's all the rain we've been getting? Let's see... WET!!!

We've actually broken rainfall records in the last few days. And it's not just the rain causing problems. Yesterday we broke the 60 degree mark! (Last week we couldn't break the 40 degree mark!) The temperatures have caused the snow level in the moutains to raise quite a bit. So, all of the rivers in western Washington have the snow melt to deal with as well as the rain. Thank God, I live on a hill! (Flood warnings on the local rivers is not an uncommon occurence around here, but it's usually in late spring.)

Fortunately, the weather has been a lot nicer today. We have scattered clouds with patches of blue sky. We have warm temperatures again with no rain and no wind! Yea!

Dori :cool1:

P.S. - I have a spare bedroom for anyone looking for a warm place to hide!

Hi there everybody

The weather is certainly a hot topic, so I will tell you what it's like here across the pond, Cold, wet and very very windy. Our forcast for the next week SNOW, I hope it does not come to much I dont cope well with snow.
We are very lucky here in Wales being quite southernly we do not experience a lot of snow but further north of England and Scotland in particular they are getting quite a lot.

Andy: I feel for you being out in all weathers, my poor postman looked half drown this morning delivering the mail. Stay warm, dont go catching any of those flu bugs going around.

Bev: Would love to meet up with you. Vicki and I will be at Disneyworld, staying at the Pop Century Resort from the 18th August through to 2nd September, I dont drive whilst I am over there(scared of the roads on my own)so we dont venture to far off site, but it would be lovley to meet up with you maybe at one of the disney parks or Downtown Disney. Vicki loves Disneyquest and I love shopping, so we are always there. Let me know your details of where you will be after the cruise and we can get our heads together, it will be great. Good luck to Harley.

Linda: The pirate ship looks great, and good value too. Hope you have a great time.

Doreen: So glad you made it safely,Give Karen my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Terry: My goodness I thougt it was cold here at 34 degrees, you must be freezing, stay warm.

Tina: My dear neighbour, how do feel about Vicki bring a full drum set aboard and setting it up on the varandah, sweet music for you to wake up to LOL.{just kidding} I can almost hear you phoning disney to change your room. I am so glad your ds lump was nothing too much to worry about.

Darlene: I am so sorry the meeting with your son has been delayed again, you must feel like you dont know if your coming or going. Pixie dust being sent to you for the 30th.

Dori: Send a little bit of blue sky my way please, otherwise I might take you up on that room offer.

I always get to this stage of posting and hope that I have not left anybody out, once again if I have , I'm sorry and wish you all well.

Sue

After Hazel slid off the snow covered road today on her way home from food shopping, she is NOW ready to move to Florida. If only I could apply for early retirement, we would be putting a FOR SALE sign out front of our house tonight.

Andy - So sorry to hear about Hazel. I hope she is ok. I hope the car is ok too. My father went off the road into a cement wall a few weeks ago when coming to meet me for Christmas, $2,800.00 later all is fixed but it was a long few weeks with no van. My step Mother has MS and is confined to wheelchair that will only go in that van. I was having thoughts of moving south myself today as I was driving home.

Tina - You have to click on "The Pirates of St. Maarten Day Cruise" and you will see the details. I think that the $800.00 :earseek: would be if we wanted to rent the whole ship for ourselves. I hope the snow misses us this weekend. The next two days don't look all that great as it is.

Darlene - I'm sorry that the return is delayed again. We will continue to pray for his safe and quick return :moped: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Doreen - I'm glad you arrived, even if it took all day. Hopefully it will warm up a little while you are there. Give Karen our best wishes for a quick recovery :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hope everyone else has a great night

Linda
