Hazel was slightly shaken up, especially since a car was coming in the other direction, but there was no damage to the car. The car spun around but didn't hit anything. Luckily she was only a block from my work, so I drove her home from there. There were many fender benders around here today. Since I work for the township, I have a two way radio in my car and I heard the police being dispatched all over town. In fact, where Hazel spun out, about 15 minutes later, there was an accident. This was our first real snow of the season, and I'm tired of it already!!!

Count Matt in as one of those drivers that slid off the road today. Luckily he was only going about 7 miles per hour but he still manage to hit the curb and do about $600 in damage to the car. :guilty: I told him to stay home because it was too bad to go out, but you know these kids they know everything. It was all I could do to resist saying I told you so.

Everyone please stay safe, and off the roads unless really need to go out.

Lyn

LYN - Glad Matt didn't get hurt. Sorry about the car. MAYBE when he has to shell out $ for the damage he will figure out on his own that MOM WAS RIGHT. Sometimes an "I told you so" is redundant. However, I do have to confess that I LOVED to drive in snow when I was young and carefree. And I actually don't mind it now, either.

ANDY - How's Hazel today? Sometimes you hurt the next day if you tensed up while skidding. Hope all is well.

Everyone else...stay dry and warm.

Darlene

Hazel is doing quite well today, in fact she just arrived home from running some errands. At least the roads were rather clear!!!

Doreen,

The postcards arrived this afternoon, I will mail them back out Friday morning to Florida. Hopefully, they should be arriving back to NY by the end of next week.

Doreen - You absolutely MUST let us know how the kids react when they get the postcards! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Dori :umbrella:

P.S. Sue - I'd send you some blue skies if I could, but they made a short appearence yesterday, then left. (Maybe they're already on their way to see you.) We're gray and wet again today.

Hi Guys

How are you all

Andy: Glad Hazel is ok, and the roads are clearer today.

Lyn: Hope Matt is ok, he must be gutted about the damage to his prized possession. I skid on black ice 2 days after passing my driving test and did not ever want to drive again(I did of course) but it really shakes you up because you have no control whatsoever.

Darlene: Hope you feel calmer today, have you recieved any more definate news about when your son is due home.

Dori: Dont know where those blue skys went, but they did not make it over here, the weather is terrible today, with freezing rain and winds at 90-100 mph. Very frightning driving out on the roads, I just dropped my mum home and tomorrow is our rubbish collection day, and believe it or not somebody had put an old bed mattress out to be collected and it flew stright across the road over my car and into an iron railing around a park on the opposite side. I thought I was seeing things, could not wait to get back home, park the car up and head back indoors.

Roll on the summer. Anybody know what the sun looks like these days?

Take care all

Sue

Gee Sue, that sounds just like the weather we were have at the beginning of the week. (Although I think our wind gusts were only around 60 MPH.) We didn't get any sun breaks until yesterday. Maybe the blue skies are still working their way over to you and will show up in a day or so. (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!)

Dori :earboy2:

We had a bit of sun earlier in the day, but that gave way to clouds. Just heard on the evening news that we might be getting anywhere from 6-10 inches (or more) of snow starting Saturday and ending on Sunday.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!

Just bumping us up...we fell to page 2!!!!!

Mary Rose...how goes the job hunt? Hope everything is well with you and yours.

Bobby & Cindy...wondering how you all are also. I know you are busy. Give us a holler.

Darlene

Andy - it will snow somewhere else. Here! We're due to get 4 - 12 inches (can't they be a little more specific??) starting this afternoon. :confused3 LOL.

Thanks for the snow wishes!

Happy Friday All.

Not looking forward at all to the snow thats on the way - I HATE SNOW!!!
My mom just called me - just got off the auto train in Sunny Florida - and rubbed it in that its 66 degrees already - I would have hung up on her if she wasnt my Mom - LOL.

Andy - glad to hear that Hazel is ok.

Lyn - Sorry to hear about Matts new car - he must be heartbroken - its always hard when a new car gets the first ding or damage to it.

Darlene - Tell Sandy congrats on the terrific job with the walk-a-thon. How is Stan doing these days?

Doreen - great chatting with you at 5:45AM today. Glad I wasnt the only crazy person online at that time - LOL. Hows Karen feeling!

Everyone else - stay safe with this wild weather were gonna have this weekend. I already stocked up at the grocery store so my butt is staying home. Even though I have 4WD - I still hate driving in snow.

Take Care

Denise in Chicago,

You are very, very, very, welcome, LOL!!! :earseek:

Andy

Hello Everyone !
Andy: Glad Hazel is safe, That must have been scary for her.

Lynr: Hope Matt listens next time but glad he wasn't hurt.

We are going to get buried with snow. Of course they can't be exact with how much. They are saying anywhere between 7 to 14 inches plus. It's the plus that scares me. They say it will be the biggest storm since Christmas of 2002. We are taking the kids to see "Are we there yet" Tonight then I am off to fight the crowds at the store. Stay warm and safe everyone ! Tina

GINNY - Stan is doing pretty well. Had a catscan this week and we are hoping for good news from that. He looks good on the OUTSIDE just need the INSIDE to look as good. He can't wait to get back to work. I kinda' like having him home. Most of the time, anyway!

Sandy's little private school raised $25,000 in the walk-a-thon. There are only about 500 kids in her whole school. They said the kids were actually RUNNING laps to get in as many as they could. I am so proud of all of them.

Glad you are staying home this weekend. I already did the food shopping and we have plenty of things to do inside. I know Sandy will be excited to get out in the snow.

Stay warm and safe.

Darlene

OK Now I am getting pissed that I don't get e mail responses anymore and when I check I have 3 pages of postes to read. Ughhh

Anyway, hello all :D

Been very busy getting ready for the GIANT Garage sale Samantha's elementary school is having next weekend to raise money for Tsunami relief. I sent an e mail out to those who may want to give, via mail. If you received one, please ignore it (unless of course, you WANT to donate). It was sent to my whole address book.

Dori...Again Seattle makes the list, This time it is one of the fittest cities.

Darlene...Hope your son comes home soon, before you get on the plane and go get him LOL My neighbor is a pilot and he has been transporting troops back and forth.

82 weeks WOW I can't believe it.

Now they are expecting 12-15 inches of snow. My DH was in NC on Monday and when I went out to shovel I called him and said, who wants to live here? Then why am I the one shoveling. By the way, I HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you all soon

Joanna

Hi everyone

I'm ready for the 8-12" of snow they are calling for. Did food shopping for all the important items you need when you're stuck in the house - cookies, chips, cake, donuts, soda etc. :drinking1 Maybe I can start my diet and exercise when I'm outside shoveling the snow. :worried:

I'm ready for the E-A-G-L-E-S to win Sunday while I stay home this weekend and watch the game. :cheer2:

Most importantly, I'm ready to go on a cruise to anywhere where it's warm and they don't know the four letter word - s n o w. LOL :sunny:

Congrats to everyone who has worked so hard raising money for Tsunami.

Andy and Lynr: Glad Hazel and Matt weren't hurt.

Hopefully everyone will stay safe and warm this weekend.

Bev

I intend to stay as safe and warm as I possibly can this weekend. Of course I know what I'll be doing Sunday before watching the Eagles game, I'll be digging our car out from under the snow.

I had to take Lindsay for her SAT test this morning. Hope I'll be back before we get the snow. They keep changing the forecast and now we are up to 12-16" of snow.

The good news is that I've decided to pursue a dream that I've had since HS(last year - LOL) and that is to become a Travel Agent. I start school next week in the evenings so I will continue to keep my daytime job. :Pinkbounc I guess it's true that if you have a dream, it can happen if you believe it can. (It's taken me over 30 years to do this, but I have to give it a try).

Hope everyone stays safe and warm this weekend.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Go E-A-G-L-E-S :cheer2: :cheer2:

Bev
