Darlene - I'm so glad that your son will be home soon! I've kept all of our 'kids' in my thoughts and prayers until we can get them all home.

Doreen - Enough of this getting sick business! Get to feeling better soon!

Sue - I hope that you take a video recorder along. Tell Vicki, "Way to go!" for me.

Bobby - Sorry, but I didn't get any pictures of the Wonder. I was quite bummed when I realized that I missed the opportunity. (I'm glad to hear that the house finally sold, too!)

Andy - Too bad that you're going to DL in August. Devin and I will be there the last week of July. It would have been fun to meet up for a day.

Denise (in PA) - If you want your weather back, PLEASE come get it! We are currently having freezing rain mixed with snow AND I still have patches of snow in the yard from the storm last weekend. (This is supposed to be the EverGREEN state, but not right now. BRRRR!!!!)

Lucy (lwilliams) - Where are you?!!!! I'm still waiting to hear from you!

Everyone Else - Hi! Hope that life is going well for all of you!

Just to let you guys all know... The fundraiser for the tsunami victims that we held at the office on Friday raised nearly $500, which will be matched by the company. As of last Monday my company's total contribution has topped $1.2 million (including employee contributions). I'm really hoping that we can punch it up some more before the end of the month.

Well, I'm going to go curl up with a drink and a good book. Take care and I'll talk to y'all later! (Can you tell that I spent my 'language formative' years living in Texas?)

Dori :umbrella:

P.S. - Nobody has noticed the change in my tag. It's not a typo. My last name happens to be Rouse (and I even have an uncle named Mickey). :earboy2:

Hi Guys

Many many thanks for all the good wishes you sent me for Vicki for the talent contest tomorrow night. She has been practising all day, and at about 4pm this afternoon my doorbell rang and I took a quick peep out of the window and saw my next door neighbour. Oh dear I thought maybe she has come to complain about the noise.Well with a big smile on my face and ready to give her the full explanation of why she has been playing all day I went to answer the door, to my suprise, she told me that her brother-in-law was visiting for the day and he had asked where the drumming was coming from, she told him that it was her 14yr old neighbour and he asked her to tell me and Vicki that he would like to invite Vicki and myself to his recording studio that he has, so that she can record a demo as he thought she was really good. She was thrilled to bits and I have promised her that we will go pretty soon. So look out, in a couple of years time, that famous all girl band from the UK could include my daughter.

Andy: How wonderful you are going to Disneyland in August. What date are you going? Vicki and I will be at Walt Disneyworld in August, so we will be visiting Mickey probably at the same time in 2 different locations. We are looking forward to the celebrations that they are holding there to celebrate the 50 years of Disneyland. I bet Angelina was thrilled when you told her about visiting Anaheim. Gwen Stafani was on TV here a few nights back on a tv chat show. Vicki thinks she's great.

Doreen: Sorry to hear you have been poorly again, get well soon, Hope all goes well on your trip and thanks for linking the reservations.

Terry: Vicki is more excited than nervous, your right it is me who is chewing my nails.

Tina: Let us know how you get on with your son, I had a small lump come up on my back a few months ago and it turned out to be a small cyst which I have just had removed.Had a couple of stitches, but it is fine now.

Bobby: Sorry I can not help with the pictures of the Wonder but I do hope somebdy else will be able to help you.

Joanna: Hi , hope you are well.

Lyn: Hi and thanks for your good wishes for Vicki.

Darlene: I am so happy that you will be getting to give your son the hugs you have been so desparate to give him real soon. Best wishes to you all.

Dori: I will definatley be taking my video camera along, I am glad you reminded me, I need to go and check the batteries right now. By the way I love your tag.

Sorry if I have missed anybody out, but if I have HI to you all and I hope you are well, signing off now. I will post on Tuesday and let you know how Vicki gets on.

Vicki has asked me to type this while I am on here "Thank you all for the good wishes, I am very excited and a little bit nervous, mum will let you know how it goes, You all all very kind" Vicki xx

Bye, Speak soon.

Sue

SUE - That is absolutely AWESOME! Just think...when Vicki is touring the world with her girl band I can say I know when and how she was "discovered". I love it that someone took the time to encourage her music. Best wishes on the show tomorrow night.

Darlene

Sue,

We are flying out to Anaheim on August 14th and will be there until August 21st. Angelina had the biggest smile on her face when I told her we were staying in Anaheim. You should have seen her face when I told her that our hotel was only about 3 miles from where Gwen lived on Beacon Ave, it was like she hit the lottery!!! I guess you know we are going to have to take a drive down Beacon Ave. one day during our trip.

Andy

DOREEN - Have a safe trip and take good care of Karen. The kids will be fine.

My son's homecoming has been pushed back 2 days. Plane transportation was diverted to assist with the tsunami aid effort. Although I am deeply disappointed I really can't be mad. That area lost so much and we are losing 2 days. Please continue to pray for his safe return!

Sandy walked/ran 42 laps for her walk-a-thon. She collected $755.00 for the tsunami victims. I am very proud of her!

Darlene

Good Morning Everyone ! Hope this day finds you well.

Doreen: I missed your post that you were sick. I hope you are feeling better.
We are getting a pounding with this snowstorm !!!! I hope it doesn't effect you getting your flight out. I have no idea what this thing is in my DS ear. I have a Doctor's appt. today for him today at 4:00. Were you able to link our reservations with everyone elses? Have a good trip.

Lynr: Terry: Sue: Thanks for the wishes, I will let you know what the doctor says when I find out.

Darlene: Sending pixie dust your way and I will continue to pray for your son. :wizard:

Joanna:Small world my Mom works in Tampa and lives in Palm Harbor.

Linda: Are you still around????

Great Job, Sandy! That's wonderful!

Hey gang! Check out what was posted on the company website this morning...

The employee donations, plus the company's standalone $100,000 contribution and the corporate matching funds, brought the total to $2.06 million.

I was really hoping that the employees would be able to make the company match $1 million...and the month isn't over yet! I wonder how much higher we can take it?

Dori :cool1:

Hi Guys

Just back from the talent show and Vicki done very well coming 4th place out of 26 acts. She was thrilled to bits, and got a certificate and a box of chocolates for her efforts. She was very very nervous before she went on but was thrilled to see her dad,(my ex) and my mother and farther in law had made the journey to come and see her. It was lovley having all the family there to support her.The whole talent show was organised by the children with only a little bit of help on the music side coming from one of the teachers. They managed to raise just over £1000 nearly $2000 on the night and more money was being put in the collection boxs as we were leaving, all money raised will be sent to the Tsunami fund via the headmasters son who has been working really hard as a volenteer over in Thiland . I was so nervous as I was trying to watch her, take photos and video at the same time, but thankfully all went well and every single child who entered got a great reception.

The first 3 places all went to singers and it was great to see all the children entering into the spirit of the competition and trying really hard, this was all organised in one week, is'nt it amazing how this terrible tragedy has even hit home to children.
Hope you are all well, thanks once again for all your good wishes.

Sue and Vicki xx

Hello Everyone !
Well, I guess everyone goes to the Doctor when the kids have off of school ! The waiting room was packed. Please excuse in advance for TMI. Everything is fine with my DS. He is a typical 14 year old boy. He has some acne on his face due to puberty not alot just some. Well I learned something new today............According to the Doctor under the skin on his face the bacteria built up and traveled to the ear to cause this lump. There was nothing on the top of this lump to indicate it was acne. It was quite big. He gave Jonathan a prescription for a topical gel to put in his ear. He has a follow up in 6 weeks. Better safe then sorry. Kids are hoping for no school tomorrow........It hasn't stopped snowing here and we are getting more of the white stuff tonight. The roads are bad. The winds chills tomorrow are expected to be -10 to -15. Oh where Oh where can I get on a ship??? I know for right now my dreams. Tina

Sue: That is great about VICKI !!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

SUE - Tell Vicki I said "AWESOME!". Congratulations to her and all her schoolmates who pulled off the talent show and raised so much money in such a short time. Thank God for unselfish children who have responded to a tragedy so far from their own lives. It gives me hope for our future.

You sound like me, taking video and photos and clapping all at the same time! Coming in 4th place is outstanding! Now on to the recording studio... :rockband:

Darlene

TINA - Glad to hear that DS's lump wasn't anything more serious. It must be tender though. I hope it clears up very fast. Teenagers are a wealth of new information.LOL

I survived the boys, now I have Sandy to look forward to. When I was a teenager and had a little acne my mom told me to wash with Fels Naptha Soap and don't touch my face with dirty hands. Anyone remember that soap? Well, by the time my brother hit puberty she took HIM to the doctors for a prescription to help clear his acne. I try to remember that when the boys remind that I do things differently with Sandy then I did with them.

Hope you don't get buried in snow. Just enough.

Lol Yes wealth of information on a daily basis. The thing that surprises me is it isn't tender or the Doctor didn't drain it. This thing is oval and is the size of a vegetable pea. The topical gel just goes on top and it will clear it through the skin without it breaking the skin. I told my son next time don't wait 2 weeks before telling me. We got 8 inches today another 6 expected tonight is that getting buried? I really don't like snow.........I have to live here till my kids are of age then we are moving SOMEWHERE WARM!!

Doreen: Are you getting as much snow as we are?? Have a safe trip. Pixie dust to Karen. I had the same surgery and I will be thinking of her. :wizard:

Dori: That is awesome your company raised so much money !! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Tina

I am here. I have just been really busy and still not feeling all that well. I also have spent a lot of time researching shore excursions for the March cruise.

**Sue - Tell Vicki, CONGRATS!!! GREAT JOB!!! We can't wait to hear about the recording studio.

Doreen - Have a safe trip. Take good care of Karen and enjoy the fact that it won't be -5 below where you are. It may not be a cruise but it's got to be better than here. Don't worry about the kids. It is good practice for College.

Tina - sorry to hear about both of the kids. We are not getting too much snow tonight. Looks like it gonna stay with you tonight. We will be getting the cold weather though. Of course, they will end up delayed again in the morning and I will have to figure out what to do with them. It is really making me excited about the March cruise. 47 days and counting. I bought a dress on Friday and booked a shore excursion today. Check it out when you have time @ lordsheffield dot com.

Dori- What a great bunch of people must work in your company. Kudo's to the company for matching too.

Darlene - Sorry about DS delay - but as you said it was for good reason. Congrats to Sandy for putting forth such effort to help out.

Hope all had a great weekend.

Linda
