We did a sleepover party for DS when he turned 12. We held it over Thanksgiving weekend. Let me tell you......a bunch of boys together can give a bunch of girls a run for their money in the loud department.
DS had a sleepover party when he turned 10 & 11 as well. I was tired of shelling out hundreds of dollars on holding birthday parties at those amusement places.
I will say that I noticed boys at age 11 & 12 just want to hang out together and talk as opposed to constantly needing to do something (like play video games). So in that sense the sleepover was easier.
And at midnight, DH and I went to bed while the boys pulled an all nighter. So I did get a fairly decent night's sleep.
We are booked for a 3-night Wonder leaving August 23rd, I think Buddy Bear is on the 4 night for August 19th but I'm not 100% sure.
Andy.....what else can I add about getting locked outside on a cold winter's night. The Goofy slippers was just priceless and I had a perfect mental image of you huddling against the ivy to break the wind.
Speaking of Scout winter camping....I'm a Girl Scout leader and twice now I've taken my girls winter camping only to have hit very warm weather. And we stay in heated cabins with access to hot water. And twice I've taken them on spring camping trips in cabins with no heat and no electricity and both times we had night time temps in the 30s.
Terry....that is some serious Disney withdrawal not having any WDW or cruises booked. Glad you've found a cruise thread for your RCCL cruise.
My Wonder cruise in 2005 didn't even have a cruise thread and I doubt my 3-day cruise in August will have one

. I may start one up as the date gets closer. One of the things that separated out the crusin castaway cruise from all my other
DCL cruises is having all you guys to share things with.
I'm very chatty this week as I've got both kids home with the flu. I hoped they would go back to school today as they seemed better yesterday but both woke up this morning with fevers.

Thankfully people are posting some really funny trip reports and that's keeping me sane.
