I'll let you know if it is too short, not worth the money etc. BUT if you are a beach person or want to swim with dolphins and not into sightseeing, back to backs on the Wonder may be something to do. Bahamas/ Caribbean it's a beach and they all have pretty much the same water adventures to do. You are only at a port for 8 hours usually, so I think you can make the best of it unless you are a sightseeing type of person.

But you know we are booked on the 8/17/07 sailing of the Explorer out of New Jersy this summer, go check it out.

Joanna

Let us know how you like it
I was thinking about the 9 day for 2008 out of NJ

Who knows if uncle sam and a bonus from work treats me well maybe this year. :cool1:

OK, who needs a good laugh?

Hazel left the house at 5:45 to go to church tonight, Angelina had a birthday party to go to at 7:30, so I stayed home to walk her over to her friends house a few blocks away. OK, here goes: I get Angelina halfway there and realize I picked up my cell phone and wallet, but "NO" house keys. It's 30* outside and the wind chill factor is in the teens. I tried to call Hazel, but since she is in church her cell phone is on vibrate and "IN" her pocketbook. It's 7:15 by now, and I know church won't let out until near 8:00

Luckily, I had on my ski cap, my very warm heavy work coat with hood, gloves, and of all things, my new Goofy bedroom slippers that just arrived on Friday. That's what I get for not putting on better shoes for the walk.

I arrive back home at 7:30 and start walking around the backyard to keep warm, then I nestle up against a big oak tree that is covered with ivy to try and block the wind. It did help by the way, LOL!!!

Finally, at 7:55 my cell phone rings, it is Hazel calling, church was almost finished, but she said something (thank you Lord) told her to check her phone. Hazel went out in the hallway, heard one of the five messages I left, called me back, and headed home. She arrived home at 8:20, and I am now back in the house, none worse for the wear, except :cold: frozen piggies, LOL!!! :rotfl:

Andy.......I know my DS would feel your pain. Hope you are all nice and warm now. Loved the bit about the slippers.;)

Andy, glad you are back inside. We had wind chills of 0 today, and temps in teens. But so busy at the restaurant tonight. Don't these people know to stay home in this weather?

OK, sister moonie, Mary Rose, maybe we can cruise together in 09. That would be great.

Time for my tootsies to be soaked. I feel like my grandmother after a hard night at work. Talk to you all soon.

Lots of hugs for all my buddies. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I've finally realized why I feel like the earth is out of alignment or something; this is the FIRST TIME in over 3 1/2 years that I haven't had a Disney Cruise planned, and the FIRST TIME in over 6 years that I haven't had a Disney World trip planned. :scared1: :faint: Would it look too bizarre to make a countdown timer for 2009??? :lmao: I just feel so.... naked...without one! Well, without one for a Disney trip, anyway. :earboy2:

Andy: You poor thing!! I'm glad you're back in the house and warmed up! Too cute about the Goofy slippers, I can just picture it now - you all huddled up against a tree in your backyard... :cold:

Shirley: I hope your DS keeps warm out there this weekend!! :cold: He's probably having too much fun to notice the temperature. :cool2:

I got a tirp planned for disney world this year, March 9th leaving for newark airport at 5:00am for a early flight to orlando and I then come home the day after my birthday on March 12th. On my birthday I get to see The Early November at HOB in downtown disney  . Check out http://www.theearlynovember.net/ if you wanna hear what they sound like or watch one of my video's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HuvIBFbP6I or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98qpfP6a5cw or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLZnjfrc0xY. Also if you do check the video's out tell me what you think.

Just for what its worth.....2009 has a very late Labor Day. Labor Day is September 7th. Nice - could even book a very late August date and still not be returning Labor Day weekend.

Cool....Christmas/New Year's is on a Friday!!!!!

Bring on the countdown timer for 2009!!!!!!!!

Im sure that would not work for us, as school most likely would start before that

Hey All,

Check this out, here are clips from when Rick Adams was on our cruise filming last August. You might even see some of your fellow DIS'ers in some of the clips. I saw some of Doreen's family, and I also saw my mom and myself in one of the clips. We were walking behind Rick on decl 10 during the sailaway from Port Canaveral as the horn was sounding. I think I saw Karen and Elaine and some of the kids in the water with Rick during one of our stops at Castaway Cay and again as they entered the ship with their green leis on.

Thanks Andy! I'll have to wait to view them until tonight because I tried this morning but apparently I need some software downloaded to my computer. Ever since the Great Crash of '06, my new hard drive doesn't have all the software that the old one did! :surfweb:

Andy, that was awesome!!! I did see myself and my family, but I also think I saw your mother at the sail away party. Thank you for sharing. BRRRRR in CNY today. Shoveled, exercise, and now just relaxing. Hugs to all.

Hey Andy!
thanks for the link! :thanks: I saw some of our fellow Castaways and also spotted my daughter in the clip in the stack. she enjoyed seeing herself! It was like a birthday surprise (today she's sweet sixteen).

Regards to everyone!
Denise

Andy.....those video clips are hilarious!!!!! What a great reminder of our fantastic cruise.

As I have dial-up the videos come out really grainy so I can't recognize anyone. But I LOVED Rick asking for a green lei. :lmao: :lmao:

I don't think I saw him all week.

Thanks for posting the link.....I bookmarked it. When I get around to having high speed internet service I'll be able to watch them properly.

Okay I just called Mike at work & said....BOOK IT!!! I said what about your vertigo & he said I'll worry about that later. So I said maybe you could talk to your doctor & see if he can give you something? hee hee....I'm bad!!! Anyway I have a quote request in plus I will be on the phone first thing on the 31st trying to book!!! yipee!!!! :woohoo:

Hey, that's great! It would have been a real shame if our inspiration for going didn't go! I think we've decided to try for the westbound repo, but it looks like the prices aren't different. I'll have to ask Bill what he'd prefer if all $$'s are equal!

We are just recovering from a birthday sleepover party for our now 11 yo daughter. Yikes! My, those tweens can scream and spill things! I'm not sure how we were so easily talked into such a scheme. We need this vacation more than ever.

I hope everyone is well and staying warm!

LOL I also have an 11 yr old daughter, I so can relate. After it's over you swear never again, and then like labor pains, you forget about it and do it again, but every year is better :)

Leslie: It would be really great if you could do the Eastbound Repo! You have such a nice family! The thread for the that cruise is already over 116 pages long last I checked & nobody is even officially booked yet!

You know I can also relate to the tween thing! On her last birthday I talked her into a nice dinner in Boston & she went for it. Now my almost tween son is asking for a sleepover for his birthday in April. Aaaaaah!

We did a sleepover party for DS when he turned 12. We held it over Thanksgiving weekend. Let me tell you......a bunch of boys together can give a bunch of girls a run for their money in the loud department.

DS had a sleepover party when he turned 10 & 11 as well. I was tired of shelling out hundreds of dollars on holding birthday parties at those amusement places.

I will say that I noticed boys at age 11 & 12 just want to hang out together and talk as opposed to constantly needing to do something (like play video games). So in that sense the sleepover was easier.

And at midnight, DH and I went to bed while the boys pulled an all nighter. So I did get a fairly decent night's sleep.

We are booked for a 3-night Wonder leaving August 23rd, I think Buddy Bear is on the 4 night for August 19th but I'm not 100% sure.

Andy.....what else can I add about getting locked outside on a cold winter's night. The Goofy slippers was just priceless and I had a perfect mental image of you huddling against the ivy to break the wind.

Speaking of Scout winter camping....I'm a Girl Scout leader and twice now I've taken my girls winter camping only to have hit very warm weather. And we stay in heated cabins with access to hot water. And twice I've taken them on spring camping trips in cabins with no heat and no electricity and both times we had night time temps in the 30s.

Terry....that is some serious Disney withdrawal not having any WDW or cruises booked. Glad you've found a cruise thread for your RCCL cruise.

My Wonder cruise in 2005 didn't even have a cruise thread and I doubt my 3-day cruise in August will have one :sad2: . I may start one up as the date gets closer. One of the things that separated out the crusin castaway cruise from all my other DCL cruises is having all you guys to share things with.

I'm very chatty this week as I've got both kids home with the flu. I hoped they would go back to school today as they seemed better yesterday but both woke up this morning with fevers. Thankfully people are posting some really funny trip reports and that's keeping me sane.

So sorry the kids are sick! I hope they feel better soon & you don't get sick too!

I have been on the boards non-stop lately & seriously I need to knock it off & get some work done!

Have a good night all!

Yes, *very* serious withdrawal!! :scared1: But somehow I'm managing to go on with life... That's because there is still a good chance that we'll be going to WDW this year. :cool2: The people on my Cruise Critic cruise meets thread are great! My niece, her DH, their DD8, my DSis, and DBIL, are all going on this cruise too, so my niece and I are having a lot of fun with the thread. I've even created a web page dedicated to that cruise, here's a link if anyone wants to see it: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/Explorer2007.htm We've been calling the section with our pictures in it, "The Hall of Geeks". :rotfl:

I'm sorry both of your kids are home with the flu  I hope they're better soon, and I hope you don't catch it too. :grouphug:
