Haven't been on for a while but I wanted to wish everyone a VERY HAPPY 2007!!! Thanks for posting the group picture Andy! I wish I could transport us back there right now! pixiedust:

I have been so busy with finals in my US History class, went on Sovereign of the Seas in November to celebrate one of my sisters 50th birthday (not Disney but put me in a lounge chair with a tropical drink & I'm happy!), went to Disney World with DH & kids first week in December. On a sad note my aunt died the week before Christmas & I had to run around & clean the house for out of town guests to attend the funeral, entertain them all week, and finish shopping & wrapping at the last minute. This past week we went to Boston to see the First Night ice sculptures & had my birthday dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery. I could live on their hot cheese spread! Yummo!

We are planning a trip to Hilton Head in April & another couple of weeks in Disney World during the summer. Plans do a huge family reunion on the Sovereign of the Seas during the summer is also in the making, but I don't know if it will come to fruition or not. Everyone talks about how they loved to go, but when it comes right down to it I think it will be tough to get everyone to commit.

If the Magic does do a repo cruise at the end of August, I think we would definitely be on board for that! I'll be watching for any news!

Sorry that was a little long winded, but I thought you might all be thrilled to hear my life story...or not! LOL :rolleyes1

Take care everyone!!!
Diane

Hi Diane, so sorry to hear of your loss just before the holidays.:sad1:

It's nice to hear you had some family trips though, they always come in handy throughout the year!!!:goodvibes

Terry,

My knee is comming along well,
Right now I still have the brace but it set to flex up to 90 degrees.

I see the DR next thrusday and we will see if he starts the PT or waits two more weeks.

Ed

so, I'm bored and can't sleep. 2008 or 2009 will prob be my last times cruising with disney, then I'll try other cruise lines, or go to a hella more concerts :happytv:

Ok now that is looks like summer 2008 is going to be west coast cruises, how many of you are going to go, or at least seriously consider?? I have to say, that the east-bound (returning) repo cruise sounds quite appealing to me.

The only problems would be money (of course. lol), and whether or not the dates would interfere with the kids' schools' start dates that September. Robby would be going into his senior year of high school, and Craig would be going into his junior year of college. Both kids are pretty much dead-set against missing any school time. For them, a cruise isn't worth it. (Ok, who's kids are they anyway??? LOL)

Two weeks would be a long time to leave the kids if John and I were to cruise alone... :scratchin John and the boys have never been to Disneyland, it'd be the perfect opportunity to take them there, and then do the repo cruise home... :scratchin I don't know...but this certainly is something worth thinking about! LOL

Oh, and another thing... Robby still would not be 18 in 2008, so that's a reason to NOT go...

Hazel, Angelina and I have been kicking the thought around about doing the eastbound repo cruise (if this is going to happen, lol).

We were scheduled to do the eastbound repo cruise in 2005 but cancelled due to personal issues. Hopefully, if we decide to do this again, those personal issues would not come up!!!

Like Terry stated, it will come down to cost and schedules. In September of 2008 Angelina would be starting her first year of junior college, which starts the day after Labor Day. Hazel and I have both been to Disneyland in June 1985, but Angelina has never been there.

Angelina did offer to be taken out of school for two weeks for the westbound repo cruise in May 2008, but I just laughed and said, "I think not!!!"

Of course, now we just have to sit back and wait for any "official" announcement from DCL as to what is going to happen the Summer of 2008!!!:lmao:

Hi Andy: :wave2:

You have a couple of the same issues that we do. lol But after just talking to the kids and John, it looks like if we do this cruise, it'd just be John and I. Both kids said they definitely did not want to miss school, and Robby isn't interested in the cruise even if he didn't have to miss school. Robby will be 17 1/2 and Craig will be 20 1/2 at that time, so they said they'd be old enough to be left home for 2 weeks without us. lol

I honestly don't think we will end up on this cruise (even though the kids are comfortable with staying home, I'm not sure that *I* would be comfortable with it. lol), and I just don't see us being able to scrape together the money for it, especially considering we're doing a 9-night cruise this year on Royal Caribbean and we've already started with our several years of having to pay for college. :teacher: We also want to remodel our kitchen sometime within the next year.

Anyway, I won't totally give up on the idea yet! I am the ultimate optimist!! lol :cool2:

If it does go to CA I would think about one of the repo cruises because then i could stay in disneyland for a day or two and I've never been.I'll see though, if the early november is on tour during it, forget it, i'll just fly out to CA to go see them so I cand see them 4 times, there first tour I saw them once second tour I saw them twice, this coming tour I'll see them 3 times. :rotfl: :rotfl:  :cheer2:

Hey Julia, just think what it would be like if the band Early November was on the ship for 14 days during one of the repo cruises, you would be in 7th Heaven!!!;)

Julia: Having more west coast cruises would give a lot of people a reason to check out Disneyland, if they've never been before, or even if they have been there before! :thumbsup2 It's tiny in comparison to Disney World, but still a great place to visit; I still haven't dined at the Blue Bayou which is the restaurant INSIDE Pirates of the Caribbean! I will not be truly fulfilled as a Disney/Pirates of the Caribbean fan until I've done that!! LOL

Yea, just started receiving e-mail notifications again from the DIS!!!

You must be very special, Andy!! :thumbsup2 I haven't gotten email notifications in months now, and even back when I was getting them, they'd come hours later! LOL :hourglass

Good Morning Everyone.....We have the same issues with our kids and school, oh and I teach too, so the beginning of Sept. and the May timing wouldn't work for us. And since I have no interest in doing a cruise out of CA, I guess we would be doing something else. I'm starting to look into Alaska again. Just WDW and other things in Orlando that we've never seen before is another thought. Or just go to an island and skip anything with the mouse, although that would be weird since this is how I'm doing my mid-life crisis.:rotfl: Like Terry said, I'll just wait and see how his really plays out. I would just be dissapointed not to get to use my booking discounts on another cruise.

Andy....congrats to Angelina. She is a terrific girl. I have to say that from our group that traveled together last summer, I was really impressed with all the kids. :goodvibes

Time to go make bread wth my DD. Things to do when there is no soccer to be played and it is going to rain again today. Where is the snow? :confused3 I'd like just a little bit.

I was just reminding Hazel that 11 years ago this weekend we had a 31" snowfall, yesterday it went up to 73* and today we are headed for a high of 56* Sorry Shirley, I don't miss the sn*w at all.

LOL Shirley! Disney World and cruising have definitely turned out to be my mid-life crisis relief, too!! :rotfl: I've never thought of it that way before, but I have to admit to it now!! :lmao:

Have fun making the bread with your DD! John and I are under the weather this weekend; DS18 will be going food shopping for me later, and DS15 has been doing laundry and a few other things around the house for me. And you know, you're right, between all of us DISers, we really do have a great bunch of kids! :grouphug:

Andy thanks for your kind thoughts...they are much appreciated. We are trying to get in as many vacations as possible right now because come the fall I am going to have to go back to the real world and get a.....I can barely say it.......JOB! :scared1:

I am also in the same boat as many of you because in 2008 my DD will be starting her first year of high school & my DS will be starting middle school so I don't know how they'd feel about possibly missing the first few days. Plus we already have the Norwegian Gem sailing out of NY booked for April 2008 & we would have to cancel that too.

We also booked the 2005 repo cruise but my DD was starting middle school & I would also miss a whole weekend of classes so we ended up cancelling. :guilty: That was a big disappointment & I'd hate to miss another chance to go, especially if we get to sail with friends from the Dis boards!

I guess I will just have to wait till Disney comes out with the official dates & start making some decisions then.

Take care all!
Diane

Hey Julia, just think what it would be like if the band Early November was on the ship for 14 days during one of the repo cruises, you would be in 7th Heaven!!!;)

I would be in heaven lol, the other night I had a dream that my whole family was at my house and my aunt maggie(my whole family gets annoyed with her because she talks about and only cares for herself) was trying to hit on sergio and jeff and they are my boys(I met them at like 12:30am in Atlantic City on December 27th) so I got pissed at her and yelled at her.

Yes it would, I just wanna go to california to go to Laguna beach and be out of this time zone and in another time zone for at least one vacation the only two places I have been are, myrtle beach(grandparents live down there) and Disney World(going March 9th at 5:00am till March 12th for my birthday which is on March 11th and I get to see The Early November which is my all time favorite band there on my b-day even though I am going to nyc march 3rd to see them and philly april 14th to see them).

Wow, I go away camping with DD and our Girl Scout troop and I miss the big CA announcement.

Sadly, we're not interested in either repo cruises. School, too, is an issue and not interested in the ports.

We also have zero interest in west coast Mexican cruises.

We are interested in Hong Kong, depending on the length and timing.

Please, please, please DCL please have 7-day Caribbean itineraries for the summer. I do not care whether its the Magic or the Wonder. We just want the Caribbean for 7-days.

Will do a back-to-back Wonder if necessary but only as a last resort.
