WELCOME KAREN & FAMILY!!! WELCOME BECKY AND FAMILY!!!

Please feel at home on the Cruisin' Castaways thread!! :sunny: We're looking forward to meeting all of you :)

Sue: I am so glad your rash is going away. I think Karen is right; you won't be allergic to the Caribbean sun :sunny: :teeth:

Karen: your kids are adorable dressed as pirates! pirate:

Darlene: I'm sorry about Stan's job :( But you're right, his body will probably appreciate the rest he'll be able to get now. Do you think he'll try to find something else, even part time? Stan sounds like the kind of guy who likes to have something to do. He's amazing, working full time through all of his chemo. :flower:

Lyn: :wave2: How is everything going with you? How does it feel to know your baby is graduating high school soon? I'll be in your place a year from now... I can't imagine it though, it seems like yesterday he was going to pre-school. *sniff*

Tina: We did the REAS package the last time and it was great, but now that you can make the spa and Palo reservations in advance anyway, I'm not sure if we will book it again. We might though! We definitely want to do the couples' massage again :lovestruc

OMG! A nice Saturday! woohoo :cheer2:
Jon & I actually went back to the farm today. Hey what can I say? we love the baby animals - really adorable

I'll be making a PS for Trails End for 12ppl and Bev will be making one for 10. We get to call next Sat at 659am! Its coming up. It may be a good idea for small parties to make individual PSs too just to make sure youre in the dining room in case we cant get these 2 large tables. And cancel if we do get what we're looking for?

Tonight is not only the eve of thirteen yrs ago being in labor for Jonathan's delivery (ouch ouch ouch- they waited till I was fully dilated and took him by c-section anyways)
but its also the eve of 15days of making PSs at 659am! No sleep for me till Memorial Day (Im usually awake wayyy before that anyways). But now Im rethinking our itinerary - wondering if what I have is best, etc. And I'll be rethinking it again once the hours come out for Aug

Hi everyone

Welcome to Karen & family and Becky & family.

Darlene - sorry to hear about Stan's job. Sometimes things happen for a reason and hopefully things will work out better.

I need some advice. :confused3 I am going to Chicago with DD Lindsay on Friday for a Bar Mitzvah which is on Saturday and I'm coming back on Sunday. Unfortunately, my best friend passed away 4 years ago :sad1: and I told her before she died, that I would be there for the Bar Mitzvah so it will be a bittersweet time. Can't decide whether to drive 12 hours or fly for 2. If I fly, can't decide whether to go on US Air, United or American. I never flew on United or American and the prices are the almost the same. Help. What would you do? Drive or fly? If fly, what airlines?

My brain is just not functioning. Next week is DD Lindsay's senior prom and I still things to do. I can't believe she's graduating HS next month. Where does the time go?

Hi to everyone else and hope you are all doing well.

Bev ::MickeyMo

I would take the 2 hour flight myself!!!

BEV,
Here's a tip for getting those hard to get PS
1. use multiple phones if possible. I had our main phone and a cell phone programmed.

Start calling around 6:57 am.

There are two messages that you may here:
”Thank you for calling WDW our office is closed...” If you hear this message, hang up and hit redial to try again.

OR
”Thank you for calling Disney Dining, we are glad you called . . .” once you hear this, you are in the dining phone queue.

The message will then say, “If you are calling to make a priority seating for Victoria and Albert's press two.” Don’t wait for the prompt to finish. As soon as you hear “Victoria” to press one, and you will then will presented with the next set of prompts.

The message will then say, “If you are calling from the Orlando area, or to make priority seating…” Again, don’t wait for the prompt to finish press one as soon as they say "Orlando.” This will bypass the prompts to enter reservation # or phone #.
***If you hit one before the next prompt starts it may automatically ask you to enter your phone number. This will delay you and lower your chances of getting the reservation.****

I got every hard to get PS we wanted this way.

Good luck

While Im not a big fan of flying, I agree with Andy, I would take the 2hr flight.
I would advoid US Air for now. United or American are fine, I flown both with no problems.

Barb: I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the unexpected beautiful weather today too!!! :sunny: What a surprise to have the sun out all day :) DH and I spent the day out at various stores and then came back in the afternoon to some yard work which included leveling out a 40' X 40' area of our backyard that we just had 10 yards of top soil spread out onto, and then we aerated it twice, double seeded it, then rolled it out. Whew! By the time we finished it was after dark already. And now tomorrow we are HOPING for rain! :umbrella: We need the all the rain we can get to help our grass seed grown :teeth:

Bev:  I'm sorry about the mixed feelings about the Bar Mitzvah. It'll be hard to be there without your friend, but try and feel good about being able to keep your promise. And I'm sure it'll mean a lot to your friends' family that you will be there. I hope Lindsay has a great senior prom! I can't believe in a year that Craig will be graduating. Time flies too fast :hourglass I think I'd fly if I were you, just so that it wouldn't take up so much time driving. But then again, 12 hours isn't *too* bad. Have a safe trip either way!

Brooke got Gold for her Ballet and High Silver for tap. We didn't get home till 11:30 last night.

Happy Birthday to the newest teenager of the group!!! Also sending :wizard: to Barb, the mother of the newest teenager of the group!!!

It sure did feel good to sleep in for once, I didn't get up until after 8am which is about 2-3 hours late for me, LOL!!! I was glued to the computer yesterday following the "Live from the Magic" thread and I didn't get anything done around the yard that I wanted to, so it looks like I will be spending today getting that done. Hazel has yet another baby shower to go to today. Yesterday, she went to a baby shower in the afternoon, then we went to her niece's Sweet 16th Birthday Party in the evening.

It's time I get a move on it, I still have a few more messages to check. I think I really need a B-12 shot this morning however, LOL!!! :rotfl2:

seems like it's gonna be another nice day today - so far anyways
Gonna get outside and do my (2) 1/2hr walks before we leave for Jon's birthday dinner
just read that the Beach Club is on the travel channel at 10am today too

The kids making out really well - lots of PS2 games and lots of $
Thanks for his birthday wishes

Well I never knew they did that!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! We've just been out for a long bike ride (well, the girls rode, DH and I tried to keep up on foot! Phew I'm shattered now!)

I read earlier on the Cruistoberfest thread on the Cruise Meets forum that someone passed away today on Castaway Cay. What a tragic shame. May God Bless this family.

Wow! thats really awful - I just checked over there
seems it may have been a heart attack/drowning?
and a DISer?

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOHNATHAN :bday: and a :drinking1 or 2 to mom for having a teenager now....
I hope its a great day!

Well, My boy scout came home and went right to the shower. phew... he smelled like a fire and had dirt from the knees down ( tells me he crawled un-der the tent to remove the sticks for a fellow camper).. :cool1:

Tina todays weather was so undecided... what gives. I didnt know if it was going to rain, shine or come down in buckets... I did get some gardening done though...

That is awful about someone passing away on CASTAWAY CAY. Andy do you know anymore info about it? GOD BLESS that person and their family :grouphug:

DOREEN

Nothing other but what I read on the thread....possible heart attack or drowning, that's all I know.
