YEA!!! Only eight weeks and coming fast. I starting to think of what I'm packing but will probably wait until the last minute to pack.

When we were on the Wonder last December we saw a preview of the Chronicles of Narnia the night before it even came out in the movies. Same thing with the other cruises. We saw movies the day after then came out in the movies.

Tina - yes I watched the video and was frightened. I have to keep watching it so that the more times I watch the less I'll be scared. :happytv: Dante is soooooo cute.

Karen - when we cruised down the Mississippi river, I got moisture in the camcorder from taking it from an air conditioned area to the heat and moisture outside and tried filming. The video guy on the ship told me to open the case and use a blow dryer on it to get rid of the moisture. It worked.

Hope everyone has a GREAT FRIDAY

Bev

Karen, that really stinks re: camera - so sorry! I'm a bit concerned, b/c I know moisture is a problem on the cruise - I recall lots of "fogging" threads in the past, and yes, every time I took my camera/camcorder out onto the verandah it fogged up. But moisture getting into and ruining the camera??? :sad2: Ask Doreen if she's tried to dry it out (remove battery, etc), and whether that helped at all.

The DIS has a GREAT photography forum (thanks Shirley for the heads up!!!); I've gotten lots of great advice and tips there and just purchased a Rebel XT digital - LOVE IT! Anyone looking to upgrade their Point-and-Shoot (but not wanting to go dSLR), Amazon has a GREAT deal on the Canon S2 ($280). This camera comes highly recommended. Canon has released the S3, but the reviews all say the improvements are negligible. I am soooooo tempted to get the S2 to upgrade my P&S, and my XT is only 2 days old!!! hmmm, I'd better go out in my backyard and start harvesting that money tree I've got growing back there....

It's official, we are in 6628 (if I recall correctly)! Very excited...and ready for it NOW ;)

Well Jeffkiel I'll wave to you in the morning time as we are in 6128 - directly across from you on the other side!

Tina, I think the shampoo is worth it for Dante! :goodvibes

Karen, is there anyway that Doreen could try and dry the camera out? A friend dropped a mobile phone into the bath and used a hairdryer to dry it out (had to open it up) but it worked again! I hope she's not too disappointed :sad2:

Jen, you are a bit of an expert already in the camera department! I'm impressed. Right, where is that MP3 player??

Off home now - weekend starts here!!!

Moira. :sunny:

I've had the exact same problem with my camcorder fogging up whenever I went to use it on the verandah.

I've also had big problems using my camcorder on CC with fogging/humidity.

One thing I'm going to try this cruise is not store any of my cameras in their cases and just leave them out on the table in our stateroom. I think the lenses get cold staying inside the cases.

Wow, 8 weeks till our cruise. Just bought DS a new pair of flippers for snorkeling.

Thanks everyone for the info I will try to call Doreen and pass on all these tips and maybe they will work. She was really bummed.

Taalk to you later!!!

Jen.congrats on a new camera. I am still looking for a new one before the cruise. The ine I want to look at physically id not in the stores yet. The Canon S2 and S3 are on my list too. I keep going back and forth.

Karen...........got your envelope. You were too generous. I'm glad everything worked out okay.

Okay...back to unpacking my DD from soccer camp. It was her first experience of doing a residential camp. Pretty hard on me though. Luckily, we could go watch them play soccer every evening. I knew she would get more rest staying there instead of me bringing her home and fighting rush hour traffic in the AM. It is so hard to let go in our world. So now I'm trying to get the smells out of sweaty soccer clothes. Like Karen, it has been very hot here. If I keep typing, I won't have to go do laundry.......oh well...if I must.........

Okay, I decided to drive from Philly to the cruise because I didn't want to spend over $700 in airfare plus rent a car. I went on line this morning for Southwest and the airfare was still high. I went on Southwest at 130 PM and the airfare was $59 pp one way instead of $113 pp one way so I booked it. Airfare is now $411 for the 3 of us. I'm ready now. Just have to look for a car rental. Will be arriving in Orlando on 8/18 around 1PM. Anyone else coming in around that time that wants to share a limo? Let me know. Have a great day,.

What are you looking for? Is that the new Sony dSLR? :smooth:

Hi again from the Jersey Shore :sunny:

I was just playing around online and did a search for "lime green leis" and believe it or not I found a company that makes them! LOL They are $1.29 each. Here's a picture of them (sorry the picture is so big, I cannot resize it. LOL):

I will put in an order if anyone else wants one! I figured these might be fun to wear to the DIS meets, and especially while on Castaway Cay, so we can spot other DISers at a distance! :sail:

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Ok just found another site with lime green leis, these are only 75 cents each!

Terry,

What time is the brunch on July 2nd? Hazel and I might be able to make it, as Angelina is making plans to stay at my sister's house down at the shore next weekend. We'll know more later as we are waiting to hear back from my niece and/or sister.

Terry :sunny:
You are an absolute sweetheart! Thanks so much, could we have two? Since you have already sent one to Caoimhe...

Jen..............The 3 cameras I am considering are all Canons : S2 IS, S3 IS, Powershot A700 (this is the one I cannot find in any store locally. I called Canon who sent me to the same stores I called off their web site.) I keep flipping from one to the other. I really don't know much about working cameras, I'm more a point & shoot (up to this point :) ). So the S2 and S3 might be over my head. I do like the 12x zoom and the IS. And for taking pictures of my students at the preschool, this would be great. (I usually give the families a CD of about 400-500 pictures taken of the class all year at the end of the year.) I want a good zoom, good for indoor pictures mostly of kids, and faster speed than what I have now. I just need to go through all my notes to see if on paper I can figure which one is good for me. Hopefully the A700 will be found soon and I can make a decision within the month. My current camera is on its way out, and would be just to replace it. The wonderful photos on the other forum are amazing.

Any thoughts on how I can mentally narrow my focus, please let me know. Thanks.

I love the lime green leis! That is so funny. Sure, we would be interested in 4 if you place an order, just let me know.

My mother was staying with me while John is in Germany so I dropped her home this evening to Cashel, where she lives (and where I grew up!) and tihs is what I can see from her front window...(actually it is much closer... photo not taken by me)

She bought a house at the foot of the rock four years ago (how any of these houses got planning permission, I will never know). The castle dates to the 11th century and has a very interesting history!

Night! My battery is about to go and my patience too as I am on wireless! And it's SLOW.....

Moira.

Gorgeous view, Moira! :cloud9: I just love the air of romance and mystery around ancient architecture, esp. castles and cathedrals!

Shirley...I don't know anything yet about the A700. I like the zoom and IS on the S2 and S3 too. Have you gone to any stores just to hold/play with them? I was disappointed with the S3 (I'm sure S2 is the same) b/c I didn't like the digital view-thingy (can you tell I am a photography pro?!! ]; I prefer the regular optical piece; the digital would take some getting used to.

Anyway, I just read that Amazon already brought the price back up; they must do that a bit; I was looking at camera bags one minute, and I swear all the prices went up around $8-10 the next! :confused3

Terry, Green Leis would be fun!! Would you be bringing them all down with you, or ???

Yes, I can always use a lei. :rotfl: Okay get your minds out of the gutter. That too. Terry, count us in for 3 lei s - One for each of us.

Andy - hope you and Hazel can make it to the brunch. How is Hazel feeling?

For everyone that is staying in WDW after the cruise, maybe we can all get together one night there for dinner.

Time to relax and maybe watch a movie popcorn::

Have a good one.

Bev :butterfly

Bev: Remember baby steps ! :rotfl2: Note to self.........watch video, over and over again. :happytv: Glad you are able to fly down to Orlando. :cheer2: I can't believe I arrive earlier then you. We are renting a car. Good news is we are planning on being at Grills at 4:30. My Mom & her husband are driving down also.

Terry: Thanks for finding the leis ! I am interested in getting two. :thumbsup2

Moria: That is a BEAUTIFUL picture ! :artist:

DS got his first job today ! :woohoo: He starts July 1st. He will be taking care of dogs where I spend all of my $$ with Dante. It's nice that DS will see some of it back. :rotfl2: He is so excited. Whats even better is that while I am on my cruise and he's working he can see Dante & Brewster. I don't feel so bad now about that.

So I was just talking to my mom (mickeymom) and we were looking thru the curculer thingys for the stores and we came across people wearing disney so i thought hey 1 night everyone should dress up in disney pj's and have a disney karoke night or movie night or something. How fun does that sound. I think it sounds like a blast. :rotfl2:

OK

All you disney cruising experts,

On the online checkin,
where it asks for your type of id
If you are using a passport and it asks for i.d. number
Which number from the passport is this asking for.

Is it the passport number from the page with your picture
or is it the number on the last page under the bar code?

Thanks
Ed
