Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

The reaction of my children on Christmas morning was priceless though. My DD kept saying "I don't believe it" but my DS threw himself to the ground and screamed "Noooooooo!" & burst into tears. He said "I want to stay home and play with my new toys!" OMG it was too funny! I'm seriously thinking of sending a copy of the video to AFV! Here's my DH and I yelling "We're going to Disney" & expecting them to jump for joy but oh no! We ate at the California Grill for Christmas dinner, watched a special Christmas presentation of Wishes from the observation deck, & road the front of the monorail to MK & my DS climbs in bed at POP & says "I knew this was going to be the worst Christmas ever!" OMG we are such abusive parents! LOL

On a trip to WDW a few years ago, Sandy's big highlight was watching the ducks swim around in front of Aunt Polly's while we ate ice cream. Stan and I looked at each other and said, "We could have stayed home and done THIS!". But it was priceless and I'll always remember that trip, especially the ducks.

I am glad I jumped over here today. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Most of you are still booked for this cruise, right? No one jumping ship? I have visions of us being the last survivors.

I know the itinerary doesn't excite some people. Personally I love the 2 stops at CC. I would have an awesome time traveling with just Stan and Sandra. It's family time for us. But it sure will be nice to sail with our extended cruise family.

I know we just joined this cruise and I hate to do this already, but we had to switch to the 4-nighter that same week. I'm having trouble being away from work until Saturday or Sunday after the cruise because classes start on Monday. We needed to make an adjustment to the schedule to get me back on campus a bit earlier than this 7-nighter would have. We're disappointed, but overall it will be a less stressful situation for me,then. I tend to be an overplanner and worry-wart!

Not to throw a wet blanket on this thread, but if things don't improve for my mom (financially speaking) we might have to back out of the cruise as well. My mom needs some major repairs done to her mobile home in Florida, and with the very limited amout of income she receives, she can't afford to pay for these repairs on her own. I paid to have my mom's propane tank filled last week while I was visiting only to find out that her furnance doesn't work. We woke up Friday morning seeing our breath as we exhaled, that's how cold it got in her mobile home. She also needs to have a new water pump put in as the one she has isn't working properly. All of that, plus having to put our 11 and 1/2 year old dog Midnight to sleep yesterday, is taking a toll on us at the moment.

We are looking forward to brighter days ahead!!!

Sorry to hear this Andy...as always, family comes first! I hope everything works out so you can still cruise but it is certainly understandable if it doesn't work out that way. Positive thoughts coming your way!!!

I'm sorry you won't be with us on this cruise, but I'm sure you'll have a WONDERFUL cruise anyway! And the fact that you'll be less stressed means you will enjoy the 4-night cruise even more

We haven't cancelled anything yet, I just wanted to make everyone aware, if we did have to cancel, why it was being done.

On a brighter note, after a great deal of soul searching today, Hazel, Angelina and I went to visit our county animal shelter and put in an application to adopt another dog or puppy. We saw an 8 week old German Sheperd pup named Comet that we fell in love with, he was the last remaining pup of a litter of 6 puppies(the pups were all named after reindeer). The other dog we took a shine to was a 2 to 3 year old yellow Lab named Jarrod. The woman we spoke to said it would take between 1 to 7 days for our application to be aprroved, then we can go back down and make our final selection.

My mom's trailer was built in 1969 and I think this is still the original furnace in it, needless to say, it probably needs to be replaced. The water pump is almost as bad, last week all I heard was clang, clang, clang everytime it came on.

I am so sorry to hear about ANDY'S mom and her mobile home repairs. ANDY you are a good son and things will work out. Hang in there. What shelter did you go to? Nothing replaces a loved pet but it's nice to know you can give a new animal a good home. Bless you.

MELODY we will miss not meeting you and your little family. I'm glad you were able to pick up a shorter cruise and not cancel all together. Maybe we can all get together before the cruise at WDW. That would be nice.
