Calling all 1968 & 1969 babies!

If so, I'm pretty set on Port Orleans, I just haven't decided between Riverside or the French Quarter...any suggestions?

Definitely stay at the French Quarter!!! This is my favorite moderate resort!!! It's small & compact, so no matter which building you are in, it's a quick walk to everything. Also, the buses pick up and drop off first at POFQ.

Have stayed at POR before, and although it's nice, it's just way too spread out for my taste.

Thanks Terk. I'm still waiting for my husband to get the time off, so we haven't made any concrete plans yet. But I hear a lot of votes for POFQ.

What is MNSSHP? I'm still deciphering all the acronyms.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hi All!!

I just turned 40 on 12/19. I'm planning a solo trip in March! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!!

Happy Birthday !!!

Susie :yay:

Hi Susie -

I'll be going on my first solo trip too! I found a whole group of DISers who are going the same time as me. We are going to meet up during the trip.

You should check to see if there are any DISMeets in March. You can still do things solo but then you would have people to hang with when you wanted some company.

I turned 40 last August, but am planning a belated birthday trip the end of October for MNSSHP. I've never been in October before and am really looking forward to attending the party (never been to that before either). I also have 5 free nights worth of points with Starwood, so I may go down the week of my birthday (or in May for the Flower & Garden festival).

You are going to LOVE going in October!!! The weather is nice, crowds are low and MNSSHP is a BLAST!!!

If you will be there May 15th - 17th, there is a group of DISers who are arranging a DISMeet. You should join us :thumbsup2

Holy Cow! We just booked our birthdays/anniversary trip. As in previous post DH's b-day is Oct. 5, 1969 and mine is October 16, 1971 and we were married December 16, 1989!

We only booked Pop for now. Hopefully a good deal will come our way. We have booked mods before and not had the money but couldn't bring our selves to down grade so we cancelled all together. This way if we can afford a mod or delux we can up grade and feel good. :upsidedow Am I amking any sense what so ever?!?!?

So, see ya real soon Mickey!

40th Birthday:cool1: . Dh is taking me to Disney to celebrate my birthday at the Kingdom. We arrive 9/4 and are there until the 13th at BLT.:cheer2:

turning 40 was awesome and feels no different than 25 for me

Exactly the same for me. And I always thought it would be depressing. It helps that I actually look the same as I did at 25, thanks in part to eating a lot of raw fruits and veggies and no animal products. It helps me feel really alive too. I'm more enthusiastic now than ever before.

Missed it by that much (was born in 1967)... but did celebrate at WDW, got the gift card, applied it towards a pretty nice watch, ate at Les Chefs de France, had a great meal, collapsed at the restaurant, decided to skip the fireworks.

All in all, a terrific time, except for that one part. But really, really, really good food.

1967?!?!?! You're old!!! :rotfl2:

Hi!!! I just turned 40 last month 2/25, so I thought I would drop in and tell everyone else Happy Birthday!!

We are going to Disney to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Oct. I thought about celebrating my birthday a little late but I don't really want to be reminded that I am getting old, not even at Disney. :lmao:

Anyway.... Happy Birthday all!! We made it!!

Happy Birthday to everyone out there!

This is my first post - I have really enjoyed reading the boards. My birthday is May 18, 1968 - 40 last year - but really want to go to Disney this Fall 2009 to celebrate my belated 40th and my mom's belated 70th together (Dec.) - a princess event of monumental proportions!princess: :cutie: I am still in the planning stages though and am trying to save up enough to treat my mom - make her feel like royalty! So far thinking sometime during the Food and Wine Festival, staying at Port Orleans (on a budget!)

Hi Expat! My birthday is May 13, 1968 :thumbsup2

I wasn't able to go to WDW last year for my 40th but I'm going this year. I'll be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter when I go in May. It'll be my first time staying in POFQ and I'm very excited!!!

A Princess event sounds like a great idea!! I hope that you and your mom are able to go and I hope you have a fantastic time!!!

:yay: May 1968, definitely a great time to be born!! While I am here in May (I live overseas at the moment), I'll remember you will be in my favorite place celebrating!! :cool1: Have a great time! I hope you'll write a trip report. I am trying to decide between POFQ and POR for our trip - I had originally thought FQ because of size but now am thinking Riverside because I think Mom will like the theme.

Hi Expat -

Thanks! I've started a pre trip report (see link in my signature) and I'll do a trip report when I return.

Thanks for pointing me to your pre-trip link. I am inspired to keep on persevering on the Disney quest! - A similar thing happened to me - I returned Stateside last November to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday in December with the great idea - we could do Disney!! (mom's first trip) That was two months too late, economic crisis and what not and it never happened. Now here I am a world away but determined - "We will do this! We will go to Disney!!"

I think a solo trip is a great idea!

Look forward to reading your trip report!

Thanks! I hope you are able to take your Mom to WDW in December. Everything is so beautiful with all of the Christmas decorations. It's my favorite time to go to WDW :cloud9:

Happy Birthday and Congrats on relocating to Florida :cool1:

I would recommend Le Cellier in EPCOT for dinner. That's where I will be having my birthday dinner (I have always wanted to eat there)

I will be turning 41 this year. Since I didn't make it to Disney for my 40th, I made it my mission to make sure I would be going this year :dance3:

I just wanted to say to everyone turning 40 or 41 this year, visit my thread "Calling all 1968 and 1969 babies!" and post your birhdays - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30771304#post30771304

Thanks Angela, for the link to your thread.

Add me to the list of "Turning 40 this year"! :scared:
But at least we'll be spending MINE at the Grand Floridian!!
We arrive exactly on my birthdate - Sept 19th. :yay:

It's too bad we couldn't book our trip for 2 weeks earlier though - unfortunately it's the 1st week of school. In just 4 days we could have had FOUR Birthday Fun Cards, instead of just ONE!!
