A funny thing just happened to me...I got a call from DVC checking up on me after sending me the video about DVC. A lady asked if I received it and if I wanted more info. I said yes and was put on hold until another lady picked up. While on hold the music played was You can fly from Peter Pan and all the sudden I was transported to WDW and all I wanted at that moment to be back there RIGHT THEN!Do you think there are subliminal messages in the music or am I just a Peter Pan wannabe who refuses to grow up LOL! I was asked by the guide if I knew anyone who was already a member of DVC. I said no but I wanted to say yes - about 200 or so! I feel like I know you all! She then began to tell me what I already knew but I wanted to hear what she said and how she said it. She was very nice and not pushy and her responses were lead by my answers to her questions. It was a VERY subdued sell. First she wanted to know how often I went to WDW and when I responded every other year she told me the basic package of 150 points could work well to get me a nice trip every other year. I told her that due to being empty nesters soon DH and I might be coming more often and then she told me about all the other places I could exchange for. So I guess they assume older people want to go other places more. Then she told me how the great value in DVC is the hedge against increases in resort rates in the future. She asks me if we stayed on site when we came to WDW and when I said yes she immediately asked where we stayed. When I told her our favorite resort was WL you could almost hear the joy in her voice! She confirmed what I have read here that they expect WLV to sell out by OCT. She also pointed out that packages of 150 to 2000 points could be bought and reminded me of the Maintenance fees. She said in response to my ? that they could be paid yearly on my MC or monthly via my checking account. She also mentioned they could finance if needed. DH and I are lucky enough (part luck, mostly hard work and sacrifice)to be able to afford to pay cash for 150 points right now. This year would be the best for us before our youngest DD heads for college next fall. I need something to do to keep from missing her, right? My oldest is moving out next month so I don't know if this is mid life crisis or not! DH and I both love WDW and like to go in spring for Braves spring training games and in the fall for short trips. Last time we went we had to leave at noon to head to the airport and DH wanted to go back into Epcot for a few hours. We (DD's) and I said no, no time and I found out later he was just crushed he couldn't go back for just an hour or two! So obviously we will be using our points if our health and wealth hold up. I also feel that resale would be very easy. I've pretty much sold myself so if anyone can give just cause as why these two should not be...... sorry wrong ceremony.... anyway......any single reason not to do this..I'd like hear your opinion. By the way the guides name was Celeste. Anyone know her? She is sending me more info and her card. I'm sorry if I've put anyone to sleep with too many details.... thanks,
MJ

And the negative is? I don't see any in your case! Sounds like we are about to welcome you home! ;)

Member since 1993..Haven't regretted it for 1 minute..Don't look for an excuse not to invest.

Go for it! I spoke with Celeste a few times, she is wonderful. Unfortunately she became unable to make our meeting and we ended up with a different guide.

Ah, I keep thinking about an add on...

I LOVED the details.

It sounds like you and DVC were meant for each other. What took you so long? I just returned from a stay at the VWL and you will love it. I predict more than 150 points in your future. Enjoy!

I don't know why it took us so long to decide either! Can you tell me is it a very long walk from the front desk at WL to the Villas? I assume the front desk can have your luggage sent to your villa room? I wouldn't want to lug all those groceries too far!

Hmmmm, let me think, negatives, negatives,....
NOPE! not one!!! go for it!
I'd like to say "welcome home" to you real soon!!! :)

hi: Celeste is our guide and took us through 2 contracts with disney. we love her! we finally got to meet her on our september trip. schedulewise, it had never worked out before. she will always return your phone calls and has the patience of a saint. i think she truly has her customers' best interests at heart and she's even ready to tease you when she gets to know you. when i was b**ching about adding 150 points to our existing bwv contract because of our son's honeymoon there this august, she had me laughing so much i forgot what the downside to spending more money was. hopefully, you and celeste will develop that type of relationship as well. one other thing, if you ask a question that she isn't 100% sure of the answer, she will tell you and then double check to make sure you are given the right info. just do it! :D

I feel better now about working with Celeste.
I like to joke around alot so that would be nice. (I hassle the wait staff at WCC as much as they do me).An add on for a honeymoon for your son, huh? Gee I already see a need for more points if I want to use DVC  Thanks,
MJ

I think you sound that that commercial where the couple is sadly waving goodbye to their daughter going to college and as she drives away, the wife says to the husband "got the tickets?" and off they go to WDW!

Now you've got me wanting to add on more points at VWL before it sells out, and our contract just closed there!! :D I think you will just love it. I haven't stayed at the villas yet, just the lodge, but I don't think it will be too far a walk from the main lobby, as the walkway to the buses is right there, and I think someone said you can walk to the villas from there also. ;)

Walking from the parking lot with your luggage and groceries into the Lodge and then over to the Villas would be a bit of a hike. If you valet park they can transport all of it for you directly to your room. The walk from the Lodge to the Villas is not long at all, and is in fact very nice, down a covered boardwalk through the trees. Very peaceful and romantic.l

I think you're hooked. I know exactly how you feel. Our kids are all grown up and we bought into DVC 2 yrs ago. Have never had a moments regret other than we should have bought more points! We start planning our next trip on the way back. We went on the Disney Cruise this past February. It was wonderful. Don't hestitate...just do it! You'll never regret it!

We have been members since 1993 and have added to our points twice more. We love it and so will you.
Go for it and don't look back !!
