Call about our upcoming vacation at AKV - Jambo ...being refurbished

I just received the letter, too. (OP here) Odd that I would still get the letter after getting the phone call that I have to move.

Not odd at all. I'm sure that they try to call everyone, but also send letters -- probably concurrently. It's a CYA thing on their end.

We are staying at the end of March and have received the letter as well. It simply stares that renovations will be occurring at the resort and it will be done between 9 and 5 to keep the noise level to a minimum.

I just called and its only jambo right now being refurbed I was told…I was told Kidani isn't affected.

We are staying at Jambo in January should we expect a call or should we call them? Is there a number that we should call? If someone would PM me the number then I would know if/when they call. They call my cell and I want to make sure I pick up the call if I am at work. I would love to change resort because we are on a split trip.

Is there any speculation on how long the refurb will last? We are there as of the third week in February and wondering if anyone had gotten a call about a stay that late. We are in a 1BD though, are they only doing the studios?

I got a letter on Saturday that AKL will be undergoing work from 9-5 during my stay the first week of February. I have a convention rate this time that I couldn't pass up.

We are booked for Kidani in August 2br. standard. I wonder if this will be effected. I hope not. I dont want to have to switch because we booked here mainly because of the 3 bathrooms and the size of the units!

They are doing Jambo House first. Once JH is complete, they will start work on Kidani Village.

I am staying 1/29-2/2 and called MS and was told our stay is not affected (won't be moved.)

I just spoke with member services. We are scheduled in a 2 bedroom savanah view. I was concerned that the pool area may be affected- our main reason for the 1 night stay is precruise.
Anyway, according to member services- at least on May 7,2016- the only area that will be affected is the concierge area.

I was told that a letter is just an FYI. A phone call is targeted for guests who may be in the refurbish area.

I called today and we are not going to be moved. We are in a value studio January 17th-19th. I was hoping they would move us since we are on the waiting list to move the BLT so we do not have a split trip. Oh well I love AKV so no problem, plus we have a free car this trip due to National points so AKV is not that bad.

We have a 1 bed the second weekend. If moved, I'm sure it would still be club level-- I've heard other people say here that they had a regular AKL club room when booking the DVC room. From looking at the room layouts and photos, I think the 1 bedroom suite is a nicer room than the dvc..... I think...

Maybe they run out of 1 bedrooms and we get the royal kuba suite......

I don't see how they could do that move, as there is no full kitchen or laundry in the regular rooms. It would be a huge downgrade!
