Nausea should not be included as an injury. People get motion sickness all the time. Also, people riding the ride with known issues shouldn't count either.
From the article..."California theme parks are required to file a report with the state whenever a visitor suffers an injury or ailment and then requires outside medical attention."
So the problem is actually in calling it an "injury" report.
Although it's actually pretty amusing, looking at the chart they compiled.
(the formatting I tried to do did NOT work at all, I apologize)
date - ride - park - injury category - description
8/16/2010 - Grizzly River Run - Disney's California Adventure -other -caught a cold
Or this one?
1/23/2011 - California Screamin - Disney's California Adventure - fainting/dizziness/nausea -faint, weak eating marijuana
Are we SURE that feeling faint and weak while eating marijuana should really be blamed on Disney?
And yet NONE of those were from Mater, the ride that quite nearly broke my son's cheek. If only we had sought outside attention after the RNs at 1st Aid checked him out, we could have been on that list. ha. I'm just glad we reported it and helped to get padding put on that ride!!!! (hard side of a ride right at face level for kids, and it's a ride that appeals to kids...kids who might ride with parents who are bigger than them, and it's a ride that can shove a person up against another person and if the other is smaller, they might smack into the side...the formerly UNpadded, hard, side...imagineers were NOT thinking that day!)
