California Resident Tickets

My brother lives in Southen California. If I go to Disneyland with him, can I use the Southern Californian special rate tickets? Or if I go to Costco over there, if he buys those tickets, can I use them, if we all go together?

How does Disney verify the hopper tickets? Do they ask to see your driver's license or something like that at turnstile?

We are going at the end of April, and I am trying to figure out what our ticket options are.

Your brother will have to pay for the tickets, showing his drivers lisense with zip code, but once you get past the ticket booths, that's it--no more need to show IDs. I've done this with family members from out of the area before, no problems. You can buy up to 5 tickets per each S CA ID.

Be warned that those So. Cal Tickets have a huge amount of blackout dates. I considered going that route but found that I was very limited in my choice of dates.
