California Resident AP

Does anyone know if you need to show ID when you use the CA resident Ap. My sister wanted to buy the for the family trip for us this year. We are going out to be with her and she wanted to buy the park tickets.

I don't want her to buy the CA AP if we have to show ID everytime we use them.

Yes, everyone who is purchasing the AP must be a California resident and ID is necessary when purchasing them. You would need to then have your picture taken with your ID after the purchase in order to activate it. Your photo is part of the AP.

You won't have to show ID when you use the AP, but I don't know if she could buy them for you. That is something you would have to ask guest services. If you go to Disneyland.com there should be a contact us link. You really should ask them what the guidelines are.

I can understand adults having ID or a bill of some sort proving what zip code they lived in, but I'm not sure of how a child would have an ID.

ID is not always requested when first purchasing the passes (probably has a lot to do with the CM you have) .... and I do not remember them ever asking to see ID when you exchange the voucher for the permanent pass at the passport processing center.

When you go into Disneyland to turn the voucher into an AP, they always ask for your address. I don't know if they would do anything if you were getting a So. Calif AP with an Oregon address, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

In the past they did not care where you lived, if you wanted the So. Cal Ap you could buy it. My Dad and Stepmom bought them last January and they live in Boise, Idaho. But from what I'm hearing now, they do check to make sure you live in the correct zip code. I hope this changes because when we go in November I would love to be able to buy these AP's but I'm not holding my breath.

Anyone can get the California AP. I had it last year and so did my kids and I live in NJ.
The guest relations gave me the options when I upgraded a two day pass. I had to add 9.00 but there are a lot of block out dates.
It was worth it for us because we go 3 times a year to California.

We were just there for Mother's Day and friends of ours tried to get the Southern California passes. They were told that in the past Disney hasn't been that strict, but now are cracking down on proof of residence. Her dad lives in California so they wanted to use his address, but not even that would work.

However, I am sure ivanova is right that things change a bit from CM to CM.
