What is the exact name of the port of departure?
The DCL website says Los Angeles, but I've also read about San Pedro (I think).

How far is it from Disneyland to the port?
We're staying at one of the DL hotels for 2 nights before the cruise and I'm wondering how much time to budget for transfers (we didn't buy Disney's).

We will have time to visit only one DL park on the day before we sail. Which one would you recommend...Disneyland or California Adventure? We've never been to either.

Thanks!
Kelley

The Port of LA is in San Pedro

About 30 minutes without traffic, and LA normally has traffic so allow a bit more time than that.

If you can only do one park, do DL. DCA only takes about 6 hours to complete, DL is much more of a "full day" park IMHO.

If you don't want crowds, the go to DCA. It is so neat to just take in everything with not as much people around. They have the best roller coaster there! And Soarin over Calif is a really neat ride too! If you have small kids, the Bugs Land is neat place for them to see. I would allow at least an hour or so to get to San Pedro. Traffic is just bad out here! ::yes::

Have you ever been to Disney World? The Disneyland Park if very similar to the Magic Kingdom. It brings joy to the young and the young at heart. This is where it all began and of course it is their 50th anniversary next year. For such a special celebration I can't imagine not going there if you have the chance. Family-style rides and shows.

However, if there is someone in your group that prefers things a little more fast paced then California Adventure does have the roller coaster and Tower of Terror.

There is a Disneyland discussion board on the DIS and there was some talk that a 1 day park-hopper pass existed if you really wanted to try to do both.

Yes, there is now a 1-day park hopper pass available. I'd suggest getting that so you can do a little of both.

We were just in DL in August. A one-day hopper is $69. A one day one park is $49. It is very different in CA than FL. You literally walk across an open courtyard from one park to the other. No buses or monorails, etc. We also drove down to the port to check it out. It was about a 35-45 minute drive.

I didn't know they had a one day park hopper. We have passes that we go back and forth from the parks, so that would definately be the way to go!
