California Grill with Kids

I have been there several times as an adult but never with my kids or husband (it's their first trip to WDW!). I would love to go to CG as I am addicted to their pork tenderloin. Our kids do well at restaurants, but I have seen comments about the meals there taking 2-3 hours?

We have 4, 7 year olds so I am a bit concerned about the length of the meal. Anyone have experience with taking their kids there? Did they serve you quicker since you had your kids with you?

When we ate there there were plenty of families with children-and I'm sure they would speed up your service if you wanted them to-but could you make childcare arrangements and just go with your husband? It's such a nice place to rush through dinner.

My son was 3.5 when we took him last year and he liked it. We had a good time slot because Wishes came on halfway through the meal, so he was entertained and had a break. He can sit through longer meals though, and he is very well-behaved in restaurants.

Disney places are good about serving families with kids promptly we found. The waiter at CG brought out a dish of Goldfish crackers for my son right away which kept him very happy.

Childcare arrangements are a great idea but for 4, 7 year olds, the cost would be more than the total meal at CG

We've done it both ways: put the kids in the Neverland Club at the Polynesian and went to the California Grill on a "date" and then took them (10, 8, & 6) as a family.

I agree. They do a great job with kids at Disney restaurants. Especially those that might get glared at other places. Don't worry!

The only restaurant at Disney that is not good for kids, is Victoria & Alberts.

We have dined at CG countless times from the time our children were a lot younger than your children without issue. I would recommend dining earlier and if you have concerns about the amount of time you can make your server to serve prompt to accommodate the children's ability to make it through the complete service. This makes your service continuous without the normal pause or delay between dishes. Their use to this and may add a few other little touches to accommodate the children.
