We went to California Grill last monday night!
We were staying at the Beach Club we decided instead of using Disney transportation we just got a cab. It cost about 15 dollars with a tip to get us to the Contemporary.

We had 920 ADR Wishes was at 10 pm! We got there early (9pm) and got a perfect spot by the bar where we could see the castle perfectly and the water show going on. at 950 our beeper was going off! We didnt mind the 1/2 wait my boyfriend and I were enjoying our drinks anyway. At that point I went to the Hostess and asked her if we could just be seated after Wishes! She was very accomodating reset the beeper and my boyfriend and I watched the show and not even a second after it ended our beeper was going off PERFECT!!!! Good thing we decided to wait to be seated after the show because our table was on the other side of the restaurant with no view. (i know you could of gone out to the balcony to see the show but we didnt want to sit for 2 minutes and then run outside when they originally called us at 950)
Our waitor was super nice (sorry i forgot his name) the food was excellent!!! We really enjoyed ourself!!:goodvibes

ok here is the big FYI I was told there was a business casual dress code for the restaurant. My boyfriend and I def got dressed up (for disney anyway). He wore dockers and a button down shirt. I wore a skirt and platform heels. but when we got there we were shocked to see people in shorts flip flops and hats :scared1: not that we minded what people wear when they go out to eat that is there business but we were jealous that we didnt have our flip flops and shorts on :headache:

sooo my point is if you are going to the california grill if you want to get dressed up fine! if you dont fine ! but just know that they def did not enforce a dress code policy. at least when we were they did not

we also took a cab back it cost 15 dollars as well. iMO money well spent we didnt want to deal with buses after a nice night out.

i think next time if we go i will try to make my ADR for a little earlier maybe 830 for a 10pm wishes. it didnt seem they were rushing people from the table after dinner. not that we minded waiting by the bar at all but next time I know better.

hope i helped some people out for their next visit to the california grill

Yea I've heard that too. The only place where the enforce the dress is V&A i think. We are goin there in June. I am going to where a nice pair of dress shorts and a polo shirt. I think that will be fine

Glad you enjoyed yourself! What did you order? I'm looking forward to taking my family there in December.

I have been trying to tell people this, sorry you got dressed up when you really didn't have to. That dress code is a suggestion, not a requirement.
We were up at Orlando this past weekend, we went to flying fish twice and Artist Point once. We wore our park clothes all three nights, as did most everyone else. My hubby said..the heck with disney..we are going comfy!

we ordered a chicken flatbread (delicious) california type roll (it was good but i have had better rolls in nyc) and we split the filet mignon entree it was so late that i wasnt looking to eat a big meal by myself at that point..and my fiance knew by time dinner came i wouldnt be hungry..i think i had 2 bites of the steak it was yummy
